Error opening iView from footer

I have implemented an anonymous portal:
http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous.
In my Light framework page I have kept place for a footer at the bottom of the page. This is an iView from a par file. Over here in a JSP I have:
<a href=javascript:CallIView('ROLES://portal_content/<path uptill iView ID>')>Site Map </a>
The javascript function is:
function CallIView(pageID)
EPCM.doNavigate(pageID);
I have created a sitemap and assigned it to a Role. This role does not have an entry point.
On click of the SiteMap link as mentioned above I want the sitemap iView to open in the Content area.
It does open, but it throws an error of the detailed navigation iview in the navigation panel.
Is there some property that is missing.
Even if you make an entry point of the role, it throws this error.

Hello Prem,
Did you assign this role to the anonymous user?
Also check if your IView has Authentication Scheme to Anonymous.
Check this:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/cd/1aad4abcb98c4597f9e395a6b62f43/content.htm
Also post the error stack, so I know what exactly is happening.
Greetings,
Praveen Gudapati

  • Error Opening PDF from IE

When I click on a PDF link in a website in Internet Explorer 6, I receive the following error: "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found." I can choose to save the file to disk and then it opens normally from there. All our computers here should be configured the same and this works properly on another computer.
This originally occurred using Adobe Reader 8.0.0, so I downloaded and installed 8.1.2 and it still is doing the same thing.
I tried right clicking the link to open in a new window but I am receiving the same message either way.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Check the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
Here check the default value. On an english machine, it has to be set to:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
If you installed Adobe reader to a different directory, enter the path where "AcroRd32.exe" is to be found.

  • Windows client - error opening file from OS X Server

We discovered, that some files cannot be read from windows applications via the server - Xserve 10.4.8 Server.
When we try to open files from applications (open dialog, or double click ) via the server, the apps stop reading with errors. These errors occour not with all files!
A copy of these files to the local Win-machines of course can be read.
But, using a normal Win XP machine as a "server" will work fine.
We use the latest Xserve and Software and Win XP-64 Clients with a 1000BaseT Network.
Is there a samba issue, or can we modify some settings?
This is really frustrating, because this was the reason why we bought the Xsever.
    Can anyone help me?
    Regards Markus

The only thing I can offer you is a "me too".
I have the same issue, but it only appears in some applications. My guess is that the method the application uses to open files makes the problem appear; other applications the users are using do not have this issue.

  • FinRep 9.3.1: All users getting error opening reports from root directory

We are having an irritating, although not missiion critical error
When a user (any user) attempts to open a report from the explorer view in Financial Reporting 9.3.1, we receive an "_Error 1000165"._ No explanation is provided. No folders are openable within the explorer view except "Personal Page."
It is possible to open reports by opening a report that got accidentally stored in the root directory and then opening another report from the menu system in the usual way. So it is not a user permissions/provisioning issue.
Is there a fix to this? I am afraid someone will clean out the root directory and then we won't be able to access our reports.
Update: I can use the pattern "VariancePercent([B(A)],[A(A)])" to cut this to 27 Columns by varying the direct reference to the column. But is there an easier way to do this?

We have been able to complete the update of our users SSID's in our Planning SQL tables through the utility. We had to create the users in Essbase first though.
However, if I try to log into Planning (through Workspace) I still cannot see the Planning applicaitons I should have access too. In Shared Services if I pull up my network ID and View Report, I do not get any Planning groups to show up that I belong too. I can open the group in HSS and see my ID is in it but when I do the View Report on my ID nothing comes up.
Additionally, if I add a user from scratch to the existing Planning groups that we've migrated and do the View Report they will show up for that user and the security passes through to Planning/Essbase so that I could log on fine. So, the problem is not with adding new users but the existing one's that were migrated. HSS shows the users in the groups but if you view a Report for those users it doesn't look like you belong to any groups.
We are going to apply a patch to Shared Services to see if it helps. It's suppose to deal with Groups that have users from multple domains but one set of those users cannot log into the application they should have access too. We applied this in our stand-alone S9 Essbase environment a couple of months ago to deal with a break between our existing users and groups from HSS to Essbase. Maybe this will be the final piece.

  • Error opening pdf from published desktop

    Citrix XenApp 5
    Windows 2003
    Adobe Reader 9 (Swedish version)
We do have the following issue:
On a published desktop opened from the webinterface you are unable to open a pdf file from an Intranet site. It doesn't matter if you try it with an admin account or a normal user account. The pdf is trying to open in a new browser window and an error occurs.
EM: There was a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Quit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again.
When closing the error and browser window and click the pdf link on the site again, it opens in a new browser window.
Uncheck "display pdf in browser" in Adobe Reader is not an option for the customer.
When copying the shortcut to the pdf and paste it in a browser window it opens.
When connecting to the server with an admin account or a normal user account using RDP the issue does not occur. However it seems to be a Citrix issue and I have posted it on the Citrix forum, I post it here as well in the hope to get this solved..

    Hi,
It looks like a permission issue. You should check the permissions of the folder containing the system in the portal. (System Administration > System Configuration then Open Permissions on the system object). Every user who is supposed to have access to the iView should be there as End User (for instance : Everyone (group), Administrator = none, End User = checked).
    Regards,
    Pierre

When I attempt to open a PDF file I saved from a website using Safari, I get the message "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." When I save the same PDF file using FireFox it opens up immediately. Is there any way to correct this problem with Safari?

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • With OSX10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02 when I try to open a PDF downloaded from the web I get 'There was an error opening this document. This file is damaged and could not be repaired. Preview will not open either. Older PDFs OK.

I am running OS X 10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02. In the last few days I have been unable to open PDF's downloaded from the web. Reader gives the error message 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired'. Removing Reader and trying to use Preview to open these files give the error 'Preview cannot open this file. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise' (or something like that). Downloading the same files with Reader removed from my Mac Preview opens the files OK.
I was recently prompted to update Adobe software but did not note exactly what the update was nor when it was done.
Reader and Preview will both open PDFs I downloaded a week ago. Reader will also open files downloaded on another Mac running OS X 10.0.0 and copied to my Mac. Any ideas?

  • Error opening PDF downloaded from Interactive Report

hi -- I'm getting an error opening a PDF file downloaded from an interactive report.
I've seen on the forum that this could be related to the size of the file, but I've tried
this out on 10-row results (1k files) and it's still an issue.
I save the file to my file system. If I try to open it in Adobe Reader, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
    and
Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
    attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
If I try to open in Internet Explorer, I get:
File does not begin with '%PDF-'
Other users are having the same problem. Download to csv and open in Excel works fine.
Do I need to have special print attributes for this? I didn't think so... I'm just using the defaults
(response header = report settings, content disposition = attachment).
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Carol

    Hi,
I'm having the same problem that was described above, and my site does have BI Publisher installed, and it does successfully produce readable pdfs for many reports.
But there are other reports, even reports produced using the Apex Wizard and all defaults, that just keep producing the same Adobe Reader error reported above, ie
"Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
    attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Peter

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. The normal location is Pictures\Lightroom. Locate a folder with the extension .lrdata and delete that folder. Then you should be able to start Lightroom again, and Lightroom will begin building and new previews folder. Do not delete anything else.
