EPMA Deployment Issue - Parsing Application Properties...

When I attempt to deploy application in EPMA get the following error. The applications will validate, but will not deploy. This error can be seen when attempting to deploy any of the applications in the environment. Please let me know if anyone has seen this issue. This is EPMA 11.1.2.2.
[Apr 30, 2013 3:26:32 PM]: Parsing Application Properties...[Apr 30, 2013 3:26:32 PM]: null
[Apr 30, 2013 3:26:32 PM]: An Exception occurred during Application deployment.

Dear All,
-Oracle has recommend us to apply patch 11.1.2.2.300 for our environment and from then we are facing series of issues
and this is one among them.
-We find that application cant deployed while doing that its giving an error.
**_'Exception occurred during Application deployment'_.**
-In log files that you mentioned i have checked there were no errors related to deployment.
-We have raised an SR regarding the same issue, From last 4 days they are taking several details but could not able to provide solution.
Thanks

  • EPMA Deployment Issues (Rollback Database)

    I have seen some posts where users were able to rollback their EPMA databases. This could be helpful when running into deployment issues. Can anyone outline the steps that are needed to rollback an EPMA database?
    Thank you

    i really appreciate you trying to solve my problem..
    but i think...my estion is fairly simple and straight forward...and i've provided every detail of my problem(if uv'e read my opening post of this thread)....
    and as far as that link goes...i've already checked it b4 u guys mentioned it... as it is provided right there in the tutorial i've provided link of...
    and i've tried my options b4 making use of this forum...and i didnt find a solution that's why i'm taking ur help..
    nevertheless...i repeat my question...
    there's a tutorial at this link...[http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/gui-db.html]...in it is described how to create a java desktop database applicaiton...
    at the end of the tuorial there is a section called: "Building and Deploying the Application"
    in that section they have instructed to exit netbeans IDE and try and run the application outside it...which is not happening
    the reason they say is that i've to start Java DB from outside of the IDE...that is wat my problem is ..
    i dont know how to start Java DB from outside the Netbeans ide...You are not telling us anything.
    If I tell you "my automobile doesn't work" how do you know what is wrong. Instead I need to tell you one of the following.
    1. The engine didn't start.
    2. The wheel fell off.
    3. The engine caught fire.
    4. When I went to the driveway the car wasn't even there.
    When you "run" something then something happens. When I run notepad from a console window if notepad is not in the path then I will get an error about command not found. if it is in the path then the command executes and notepad pops up. Even if I don't see notepad pop up I know that the command seemed to execute from the command window.
    The above are examples of describing what you did and what did happen. In detail.
    "It doesn't work" provides neither detail about how you ran it nor what did happen when you did attempt to run it.

    Advanced version is when you have created the dehydration store in a database of your choice. It also creates a separate oc4j instance (oc4j_soa).
    Basic means that it installs the dehydration store into an Oracle lite database. It also stores all deployements into the oc4j instance home.
    You can check this by going to the enterprise manager and see what oc4j instances have been created. If you see home and oc4j_soa I would sugest that you have done an advanced install. If you only see the home oc4j instance I would say that you have a basic install.
    Now to answer your question. Looking at your note you are pointing the application server to the home instance. If you look at you Integration server you point this to your application server connection. This is home. If you have done an advanced install this should be oc4j_soa.
    Plan of attack.
    Check what install you have by looking at the enterprise manager.
    If it is advanced chnage your JDev connection to oc4j_soa.
    Otherwise update the post and we will go from there.
    cheers

  • EPMA Deployment Issue

    Hello,
    I was able to validate the app view. Deployed, the status got to 30% then nothing. Stopped the service, restarted, re-deployed, now it says the application already exists when it's at 12% Creating the Application.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Tried re-deploying again, got this error msg:

    Got around this issue by creating a classic application over the epma app, provision admin then delete it from consolidation admin.
    Unfortunately it seems that the epma application should never have been registered like a classic app. Always perform 'deploy' and never 'register' since it get stuck in SQL data tables. Unless you are a DBA I would not suggest monkeying with the tables to begin with.
    Thanks!

  • EPMA 11.1.1.3  deployment of ASO application to Essbase issue

    Hi,
    We are having trouble deploying an ASO application from EPMA to Essbase. When we deploy the application it validates okay and then completes 100% but the outline does not get loaded into Essbase. In the EPMA deployment message text is the following error
    *[Network Error: Cannot send Data, Loading new outline for database Failed]*
    NB: 1. we have two other applications: a planning application and a BSO application. Both can be successfully deployed from the same application library to the same Essbase server so i think the issue is specific to the ASO application.
    2. We successfully deployed the ASO application last Friday at 4pm prior to the change I am tryign to implement this week.
    3. The three applications share common dimensions from the shared library one of which is the Account dimension.
    4. The change I am trying to deploy is an alternate hierarchy in the account dimension (dynamic calc - containing shared members) - I have changed the storage type to Storedata in the ASO application.
    5. I have subsequently removed the alternate hierarchy and tried to deploy - still gettign the same issue.
    Any suggestions on where to look to solve this would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Restoring the whole driectory has still been unsuccessful.
    deployign the application from EPMA will start to build the otn file - very slowly - it took over an hour and then it just stops and never completes the deploy so we are left with an OTN and an OTL file and EPMA states that the application is deployed but out of sync with deployment.
    the error we are gettign in the application log file is
    [Thu Oct 04 09:20:27 2012]Local/FINASO///Error(1270005)
    Fatal error: invalid page encountered in aggregate storage file at location [0001.0001.00000002]
    [Thu Oct 04 09:20:27 2012]Local/FINASO///Error(1270071)
    Page ID [0000.0000.00000000] in the page header doesn't match page location [0001.0001.00000002]
    I have also tried building a replacement ASO application in EPMA and deploying it - we were able to complete this with an application with 3 local dimensions each with 1 member but this took over an hour. when we try to do it with the same build as our DEVELOPMENT equivalent for the ASO file (which works in dev) it starts to build it but then falls over and leaves just an otn in the database directory.
    any ideas on what else i should be lookign at?
    cheers

  • Application deployment issue in WLI 8.5

    Hello all,
    <br>
    I have created an application via a local instance of weblogic workshop 8.1 and would like to deploy the compiled .ear into a weblogic server domain.
    <br>
    During the deployment process, I get an error (see bottom of post).
    <br>
    However, I attempt to deploy this .ear file into a weblogic integration domain and deployment is a success.
    <br>
    <br>
    <b>Could anyone provide me with a reasoning behind why I can deploy on an integration domain, but not on a server domain?</b>
    <br>
    <br>
    <b>Is it possible to keep this deployed application in an integration domain and still have it function, even though it was originally meant to be in a server domain?
    What is the different between a server domain vs. an integration domain?</b>
    <br>
    <br>
    I am using WLI8.5 sp6 and both the integration and server domains are using the same jrockit jdk.

    I was able to recreate the issue on a much smaller scale. I've attached the zipped project folder. This is a brand new project file, I did not copy it from my old one. Follow these steps to see what I'm talking about:
    1. Unzip the directory and open the lvproj file.
    2. Double click on My Installer in the prject window to open the installer properties.
    3. Go to Source Files on the left hand side.
    4. On the right side of the source files window, you will see a the files in the directory tree. You should see parse.dll listed in the main directory as well as the data directory.
    5. Remove the application from the tree by highlighting one of the files and clicking the red X.
    6. Add the application back to the [ProgramFilesFolder]\DLL_test directory. You should see all files added correctly (Help.html in the main dir, parse.dll in the data dir).
    7. Click OK
    8. Re-open the My Installer properties and go back to the Source Files page. Help.html has been replaced by parse.dll in the main dir yet again.
    That should be clear enough to reproduce what I'm seeing. Also, go to the Source File Settings page and you should see that when you highlight parse.dll, you can't select the  register COM checkbox. It is only available for Application.exe.
    You can open DLL_test.lvproj in notepad  and go to the installer section to see how it lists FileInfo[2]. It shows the filename as Help.html, but the tag is parse.dll. This doesn't make any sense.

  • Issues with deploying BC4J/JSP applications on OC4J

    To everyone who's been having problems deploying BC4J/JSP applications to OC4J.
    We are aware that you're having problems deploying to OC4J, and we're working on them. OC4J was not available in time for us to add support for OC4J deployment to the JDeveloper 3.2.3 release. In addition there are some bugs in the first release of OC4J that have an impact on BC4J applications. This note describes the issues, and how we plan to address them.
    Issue 1: Classpath problems
    People have been getting "class not found" or "properties file not found" errors when they try to run their JSP. The answer is to make sure that all relevant archives and your JSP's .properties file are in the OC4J classpath - there's a note addressing the .properties file problem at http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html. In general though, setting up the classpath can be tricky.
    Issue 2: JSP TAG NOT RELEASED ON END TAG. SAME TAG IS REUSED.
    This issue affects JSP pages whose behaviour relies on a tag instance being cleaned up as a result of release() being called.
    Your tag will not be released, and subsequent instances of the tag will reuse the first instance, rather than instantiating a new
    one.
    Issue 3:JSP SCRIPTABLE VARIABLE NULL
    A scriptable variable set in a tag cannot be accessed by a scriptlet. For example, this JSP code will throw a
    NullPointerException, because the scriptlet cannot access the value of resultRow:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>Workaround: Add a line of code at the beginning of the scriptlet to explicitly get the variable's value from the page context, for
    example:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    resultRow = (oracle.jbo.Row)pageContext.findAttribute("resultRow");
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>
    What we plan to do
    To address issue 1, we're currently testing a utility that installs the BC4J runtime libraries to OC4J, and provides a script to start OC4J with the correct classpath. We plan to post this by the end of this week, along with instructions for deploying a BC4J application to OC4J; deployment will be a lot simpler after running the utility.
    To address issues 2 and 3, we're working on a second utility that installs BC4J runtime and provides a fix to the JSP compiler. We plan to post this second utility by the end of next week.
    We do apologise for the problems you're having; please bear with us as we work on making it easier for you to deploy BC4J applications to OC4J.
    Thanks
    Blaise

    Hi, I have been trying desparately to deploy
    a simple example JDeveloper application for months and months.
    I HAVE NEVER BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DEPLOYING ANYTHING.
    I don't know much about webservers and I am relying
    on the instructions from JDeveloper help and this website.
    I have already tried Apache, and WebLogic
    because there are instructions in the JDev help.
    No luck.
    Now I am trying to use OC4J on 9ias because there are instructions.
    I have read the instructions about how to install a BC4J
    app on OC4J about 25 times, but I can't get this thing to work.
    It works fine inside of JDeveloper.
    I create a BC4J project using the scott
    schema (just the dept and emp tables).
    Then I create an empty project for my JSP client.
    I choose JSP Application from the web
    objects and it connects to my BC4J project.
    As I say, when I run it in JDeveloper, there is no problem.
    In the instructions for installing BC4J
    in OC4J, it first says install JDev 3.2.3 and OC4J.
    This is done, and it tested fine.
    Then it says to install the deployment software.
    No problem.
    But when I deploy the app according to the instructions,
    it just hangs (like Rick Wang's program did).
    The main.jsp page loads and displays correctly,
    but when I click on the links to the DeptView.jsp
    or EmpView.jsp it just hangs.
    Here is the entire batch file I'm using
    to start OC4J: cd c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib

    The file al_BC4J.jar contains my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file, as well as my business components.
    All of the files referenced in my classpath are
    present in my c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib directory.
    I noticed that Raghu's classpath contains a file called jdev.jar
    So does the classpath of another fellow who says
    he was successful in deployment (his name is Jeffrey Jackson).
    I searched my JDev_3.2.3 for this file and found it nowhere.
    I also searched my OC4J home and my 9iAS for this file and
    found it nowhere.
    It is nowhere on my C:\.
    Is this file necessary?
    I will also try removing my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file from my BC4J .jar file
    and put them in a separate .jar file at the root level (as Raghu did).
    However, Jeffery Jackson did not do this and says he was
    successfull in deployment.
    ***DO I NEED TO JAR UP ANY OF MY THE FILES FROM the JSP
    FOLDER IN JDevHome\myhtml???***
    ***or place them in the classpath?***
    I have read over all of the discussions at: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008232.html

    Can anyone help me?

  • Urget Error while deploying the HFm application in EPMA

    Dear All
    Please suggest me on the below error while i am deploying the HFM application sencond time system throughs the below error. for this what i have to check ??
    Error :The 'Test_YearCon' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application.
    Error: The 'Test_Period' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application.
    Thanks in Advace.
    Regads.
    Rao

    you have made modifications in your Year and Period dimensions, even in just the aliases possibly, since the last time the Application was deployed.
    it is not allowed to make any modifications to these dimensions after 1st deployment. HFM does not support it.
    to get a successful deployment you will need to delete the application and redeploy.
    also please make sure you are using the latest Service Pack version of your release of EPMA e.g. if 9.3.1 make sure you are using 9.3.1 Service Pack 3 and fully read the Readme documentation that comes with it.

  • Can't delete or re-deploy a FHFM application in EPMA

    Hi,
    I have a problem, that after successful deployment of HFM application I can't delete or re-deploy that application. "Delete" and "deploy" buttons are inactive.
    Application status - Deployed. Application is registered in Shared Services application group.
    EPM Architect Release - 11.1.1.3.0

    Sounds like you have a running process in the background that you might not know about. Click the Nav wheel and open the Jobs Library then filter by running tasks (hyperlink in upper left hand corner). If there is more than one person allowed to make changes, you may need to check each user.

  • Deployment issue of webcenter portal application

    Hi,
    While deploying webcenter portal application I am getting below exception:
    Caused By: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.webcenter.lifecycle.listener.FeatureMetricApplicationListener
    This is what I did:
    1. Created a separate schema using webcenter RCU.
    2. Extended domain for 'custom managed sever' using oracle.wc_custom_portal_template_11.1.1.jar template.
    3. For 3 new data sources (custom), used new schema details.
    4. Restarted domain.
    5. I could see my new managed server running, however there was no machine associated to it and I did that from console.
    Now when I deploy my webcenter portal application on this managed server I am getting problem.
    I tried below solutions but no luck:
    1. Tried deploying ear from console but same error.
    2. Tried deploying ear on admin server but same error.
    Kindly suggest if I am missing any step...
    Thanks!

    it's working now.
    this is what i did:
    1. commented following in weblogic-application.xml file:
    <!--listener>
    <listener-class>oracle.webcenter.lifecycle.listener.FeatureMetricApplicationListener</listener-class>
    </listener-->
    2. then i started getting following error:
    [03:36:42 PM] Weblogic Server Exception: weblogic.application.ModuleException: Failed to load webapp: 'myapp'
    [03:36:42 PM] Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.webcenter.portalwebapp.servlet.PortalErrorServlet
    i found this PortalErrorServlet servlet entry in web.xml file, so i commented that as well.
    n now application is deployed.
    and i got this clue when i deployed sample application available on yannick's site, which got deployed successfully and that application didn't has entry for above classes...
    thanks.

  • ADF application deployment issue

    Dear All,
    We have installed Weblogic server 11g with version 10.3.2.0 in UNIX machine.
    We are trying to deploy an ADF Application using .ear file, but we are getting an error:
    *weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-custom-app-lib, exact-match: false], [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib, exact-match: false].*
    Can we get any help regarding this.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

    The error points to a missing library in the WLS. In your ear file you reference a lib 'wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib' which is not deployed on the target WLS or not wired up correctly in the managed server you deploy to.
    Normally library references are defined in the META-INF\weblogic-application.xml inside your ear. Check this file for the reference. If you need the lib you must deploy it to the WLS instance and target it to the managed server you try to deploy to. If you don't need the lib you can remove the reference.
