MSE location problem in WCS map

Hi,
I've Installed a MSE context aware services   6.0.103 and WCS  6.0.196.0 plus loaction license in a Campus with 4 WLC  in 2 buildings, every buildings has 3 floor, i configure the WCS and associate the campus to MSE engine, I syncronize it with controllers and  It works, but only for the ground floor of the buildings, on the other floor there are many clients but they are not visible on WCS map, I can view associated clients only on the groundfloor maps, and  i check the properties of every floor but they are the same.
any ideas?
thanks
Regards

Hello,
Are the groundfloors all covered by APs on the same controller(s) and maybe the other floors covered by APs on different controllers?
Or are the same controllers having APs on either the groundfloor and other floors?
I am asking this because we may be running into a situation where the MSE doesn't correctly communicate with the controllers managing APs (and clients) on the floors where you can't see anything.
Also, is the MSE license having still free slots, or is the license limit completely consumed by all the clients in the groundfloors?
This can be verified in WCS under
Services > Mobility Services > [your MSE] > Context Aware Service > Administration> Tracking Parameters
After these first checks, I'd also verify the following:
1. The client on a specific floor should show up on the WLC under
show client detail
2. The same client should show up on WCS through a search for its MAC address.
Is the WCS pointing you to a specific map location for this client?
3. In WCS, under Monitor > Maps, do you see a client count higher than zero for those floors where you can't display clients?
4. In the floor map view of WCS, could you please confirm that you checked the "Clients" box and that in its properties you also selected "Show All Clients"?
I understand these may sound like obvious steps, but I'd prefer not to neglect anything.
Regards,
Fede

  • Home Location Problem in OVI MAP

    Hi,
I have set the home location to a non-street point near  a road to check if it can route to it.  As this was not a valid street name so I choose my current location from map.
When I ask to go DRIVE HOME, it say no route found. I try to chane the HOME LOCATION, as soon as I click on HOME LOCATION, program crash.
Is there any other way to set HOME LOCATION ?   or  to reset MAPs setting only ?
    Regards,
    Zeeshan.

Well, what you can do is to go to Menu>Applications>Location>Landmarks, delete your Home location, recreate it and redefine.
If it still does not work, delete your the cities folder and qf files in your phone and memory card, then reopen the maps. You may lose all your locations in this way, so I suggest you write down all your favorites. Avoid restoration in this case.
In case the above does not work, delete the cities and qf files again, uninstall maps and reinstall.

  • Locationing problem lumia920 - here maps - abroad

I was just first time abroad with my new Lumia920. During the first day of the trip the locationing didnt work - i was trying far too many times to use here maps.
I didnt find any better place to post a possible bug report but here is what happened:
    1. day of the trip - i had roaming off and hadnt had time to use internet at all during the first day
-> every time when i opened the maps, it was showing my location where i had been last time using the maps app. I did try maybe like 20 times to find my location during the day and the night - not even a short tries but many times i had my phone on some terrace table for a long time with maps app running.
Following days of the trip - i had still the roaming off, but i had been using hotels wifi internet
-> locationing seemed to be working just fine

As the geographical location of hotel's router is pre-determined this allows very rapid poistional fix, but if no network access device can't benefit upon reaching positional server = supl.nokia.com so performance reliant solely upon Integrated GPS chip will be a lot slower to acquire new position.

  • IPhone 3GS - "LOCATION PINNING" PROBLEM ON THE MAP

Hi everyone. I'm currently using an iPhone 3GS running on IOS4 and unfortunately facing "location pinning problem" on the map. Even though, "location services" feature is on and also "active" for photos, I quite often need to reboot my device right after I took a picture(s) in order to see the "location pin(s)" on the map.
But sometimes I don't need to do so, because it somehow captures the place the picture's taken and puts a pin on the map right away.
Do you have any ideas about where that problem might be stemming from? Appreciate your help on this issue. Thx a lot in advance...

so did you happen to resolve that "pinpointing" issue?

  • MSE not showing 7921 phone on WCS map

    Hi,
We just installed MSE with CAS (7.0.201.204 software)  and everything works fine and clients are shown on WCS floor maps except for Cisco 7921 wireless phones which dont appear in the WCS map. Has anybody come across this issue ? Any tips on troubleshooting this ?
    regards
    Joe

    Joe,
I haven't seen this be an issue per say, although I have seen where the WCS map is set to only show either 802.11b/g or 802.11a and the clients were using the other protocol. If you configure WCS map to show both 802.11a & 802.11bg clients then you should see the 7921 phones.
Also make sure that the MSE is configured to track clients.

  • Any body has the problem that the map can't find your location?

I have the problem that the map doesn't give my location correctly. Is it because of my wifi net work? or it's the map's bug?

Yes I had this problem, a restore fixed it (I didn't restore because of that problem but after the restore it was able to find my current location again)...

  • Oddball WCS map issue !? help please

    Hi,
have tried to create a perimeter on WCS map editor as a test to keep some of the assets from appearing way off the map. It made no real difference. Problem is to remove the perimeter I selected new perimeter (which erases last perimeter) and saved with no new perimeter hence going back to standard (or at least this was the only way i could see to do it)
Now, the maps are done within a "building" as 3 floors. Even though I only chose to edit the top floor when I try to find ANY ward level out I get:
[ServletException in:/pages/monitor/map/buildingView.jsp] Cannot find bean Floors in any scope'
Seems to be a java error?
So Now I cannot find any maps or Access Points on maps either L
Will stopping and starting the WCS database kick this process back into life?
I have already stopped and started jave.exe on the server to no success. I have tried locally browsingon the server to no success and various pc`s and get the same message.
I use a asset tracking piece of software from aeroscout that relies on the ap posistions from WCS and it is still working ? so in the background the information for maps and ap`s locations are still there, i would normally stop and start WCS but this may upset my aeroscout software.
any ideas ? I REALLY dont want to have to replace 350 AP`s on a map again it took days and i need to be running by next week.
    my version is:
    Wireless Control System Version 5.0.56.2

    1. Stop WCS services
    2. Make a backup of your DB
    3. Start WCS services
See if problem has been fixed.
If the issue is still the same, upgrade to WCS 5.2 latest version, that should fix your problem.

  • MSE is unreachable on WCS until Java program is killed

    Hi
I have a problem with my 2700 series Wireless Location Appliance. It works for about a week, then suddenly WCS shows the device as unreachable. If I kill the Java program and then perform a shutdown, it works for about a week before the same fault occurs.

  • Possibility to schow all Rogue APs in the WCS Map

Hi All, one Customer uses WCS 4.0.81.0 /w Location for Management. It seems to be not possible to show ALL detected Rogue APs on a Map, only one selected AP from the List. Is there a possibility to show all Rogue APs at on Map? Regards, Michael

    Hello,
If you want to see all rogue AP at the same time, then you need the Cisco Location Appliance. WCS with license for location but without location appliance only allows you to locate one rogue AP at the time.

  • MSE Connectivity Problem

    Hi All,
I am having a problem getting my MSE joined to my WCS.
It was joined at one point, but we changed the IP address on the eth0 interface from one IP to another and now it's showing up in WCS as UNREACHABLE. I have run through the setup of my MSE a couple of times, but no luck. Any thoughts?
I can ping the IP on the eth0 interface from the WCS server, but it still will not connect. We have already validated that the WCS username and password is correct by running through the setup.sh wizard.
Also, does it matter of eth0 and eth1 are the same IP address? They appear to be, but ICMP reachability exists with no packet loss. Is there a way to clear the arp cache or something like that? I noticed that when we change the IP back to the original, IP connectivity is restored. Seems odd.
    Best Regards,
    John

Isn't the network restarted when the MSE restarts all the services following the setup.sh wizard?
Is the above information correct (yes, no, or ^): yes
Setup will now attempt to apply the configuration.

How can I turn off the large blue location circle in apple maps, MacBook Pro 15 (2011)?  It is to large.  At times I need to  zoom into my home location, but the large blue circle hides the location I need.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Problem with start mapping

    Hi, I have a problem
I import my project on another computer and deploy everything. But I run mapping show me error:
    ora-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

    Hi,
in the design center, set the passwords of all location required by the mapping. Then redeploy the mapping using control center. That should automatically register all locations.
You may try to register the locations manually using control center.
    Eventually run the mapping.
    Good luck,
    Carsten.

  • Current Location bookmark disappearing from Maps App

My Current Location bookmark in the Maps app keeps disappearing. I can restore the phone and it will be there. But as soon as I restore my backup it disappears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't have an answer (sorry) but think I have a related problem. My bookmarks tab has TWO problems. First, it doesn't scroll (can't see bookmarks below those that show up at the top of the list). Second, there is no "done" button. Very strange. And a weird bug - when in "edit" mode (to delete or rearrange bookmarks), the scrolling works.

Just been into my local Apple store (by the way I'm in the UK). Google Maps thought i was just off the coast of Alaska, whereas down the road in Starbucks it thought I was in a small village in Germany
Demo'd it to one of the guys in the shop on my phone, a store demo phone & his own phone.... all gave the same result!
Seeing a Genius tomorrow so if I learn anything I'll post here.
Think what i'll learn is "erm, that's not right, think there's a generic fault"
