Epson V100 scanner with a Power PC - o.k. ?

Ready to buy a flat-bed scanner and the V100 seems right, but wondering if any problems have been encountered by other folks after buying a V100 for Tiger viz. OS 10.4.8

The Epson scanner you mentionen will work on every Mac OS® X 10.2.8 or later!
A fried off mine does have exact the same model and it is working like a charm on his PowerMac G4, PowerMac G5 and mine PowerBook and Macbook! (we are both running latest version off Tiger)
You will really enjoy this Epson product! Easy to use and really great results!
Hopefully this is helpfull or solved your problem. Consider rewarding some points!

  • Epson 1200U scanner with Mavericks

I was going to upgrade to Mavericks and then found my Epson 1200U scanner won't work with it, so I didn't complete the install. Is there any software available to use that scanner with Mavericks?

You can sue the Image Capture app in your Applications folder for scanning.
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
    Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom left side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu:   Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Import To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.
If you need help with the Image Capture software, click Help from the Image Capture menu bar.

  • Why does my Epson V100 scanner make restart necessary from sleep mode

great scanner, satisfactory compatabilty with my G4 Mac-mini, but it seems I must switch the V100 off if I wish to put the Mini to sleep. I usually leave the V100 on at this time.... but when I wake the the Mini, the window telling me to restart it comes up. No way around this, I suppose ?
NB the only way to switch the V100 off is by pulling its psu from the mains socket.

Many third party USB devices are not familiar with
the low power mode of Apple's Energy Saver.
Assuming it is the only device connected other than
an Apple keyboard and mouse, I'd report the matter
to Epson and ask them to make a firmware or driver
    update to fix the issue.
I shall take the matter up with Epson UK forthwith and post their reply in this forum as and when received.

  • Epson 2480 Scanner doesn't show up in File Import menu in PSE 6

    Hi
    I'm on:
    Intel iMac
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
I recently upgraded from PSE 4 to PSE 6 and everything is fine. It delivers everything I expected but for one little thing.
Il have been using my Epson 2480 scanner with PSE 4 for years both on G4 and Intel based Macs. I never had an issue. The driver used to be listed in the File>Import menu.
After installing PSE 6 I uninstalled the Epson driver and installed the updated version.
The Adobe authored TWAIN.plugin is correcty installed in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6/Plug-Ins/ImportModules.
It still works in PSE 4.
Yet it isn’t listed as it should in PS6. Did I miss something?
    TIA
    Nick

    Bingo!
I don’t repair permissions often. I probably should;)
I’ll check the Rosetta box when I need to scan stuff and I’ll let it unchecked the rest of the time. PSE 6 works perfectly well as it is.
BTW I read in the PS forum people say it was as shame to use a sophisticated soft like PS for such a trivial job as scanning. They suggested one could just use the scanner dedicated soft. I found the argument ludicrous. If I need to process the images with PSE it’s darn convenient to get them with PSE in the first place. Thanks to you I'll be able to do so.
Thanks for your help and patience, Barbara.
    Regards.

  • Kodak Q-60 IT8 to profile the Epson 2400 scanner

I am trying to create an ICC profile for my Epson 2400 scanner with the Kodak Q-60 IT8 Target Reflective. My Adorama receipt has the numbers 1907914 so I am assuming that is the file I need to go with the scan I need to do. The 5x7 card is label Q-60 Color Input Target and has IT8.7/2-1993 200:01 at the bottom. When I download the data files from the ftp (ftp://ftp.kodak.com/GASTDS/Q60DATA) site, the IT8App is not able to launch because it needs the Classic Mac Mode to read files.
This is my first time doing all this. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

I haven't needed to re-calibrate anything with my Epson all-in-one, both scans & prints match the display perfectly.
    It just works!

  • Photoshop CS5 not working with my epson 1640xl scanner on Mac OS Lion

Just loaded CS5 on Mac 10.7.  I downloaded and installed the  latest OSX Epson 1640xl scanner software, and also copied the Twain plugin from the Adobe Goodies CD to the Photoshop > Plugins > Import/Export folder.
Rebooted the computer, power off and unplugged my USB scanner, fired it back up, restarted Photoshop, etc.   It no longer shows up in Photoshop>File>Import
But Photoshop doesn't see my scanner at all.  In fact, the TWAIN plugin doesn't even show up in the plugins folder list.
Little Help?  How do I fix this? Everything worked perfectly with Mac 10.6  I also took the scanner into a epson dealer and the scanner works perfectly.
    [email protected]

That scanner is sort of old, and doesn't have a 64 bit driver.
As Noel said: use Photoshop in 32 bit addressing mode to work with older drivers and plugins.

  • 648max USB2.0 trouble with Epson 2400 scanner

It seems to be impossible to use an EPSON scanner Perfection 2400 Photo 2.0 with a system based on a 648max, the preview works but when you try to scan, you "loose" the signal. If you disabled the USB2.0 function in BIOS, all works OK.
As OEM we can easily change components, so we tried with another 2 mainboards (648max and 648max-F) with the same results, the bios is update to 1.4 version.
The operating system is WinXPHome so there is no driver update from SiS or Microsoft for USB2.0.
The scanner with the same cables and drivers (original CD or update from Epson web) works correctly with a VIA-based (athlon) USB2.0 mainboard, so we can say that the scanner is fine.
I'm sure there is a BIOS issue, because the 1.4 version talk about a USB ZIP trouble.
    Thanks for your urgent support.
    Pedro.

Silly question, but is the version of XP Home that you  use on the 648Max upograded to SP1? I dont think XP had 2.0 functionality til then.
Another thing you may want to try is to run the scanner through a powered hub, or even try a USB 2.0 add on card. If it works through a powered hub it may be a onboard power issue. If it works with an add-on USB 2.0 card then it may well be a BIOS or design issue.

  • What version of Photoshop Elements came with the Epson V500 scanner?

What version of Photoshop Elements came with the Epson V500 scanner?
Will Photoshop Elements 13 work with the Epson V500 on Windows XP and Windows 8?

    Hi,
I don't have a V500 but the data sheet for it says that it came with PSE 5 for Windows - unless they released a newer package.
PSE 13 will NOT run on Windows XP - you need Windows 7 or 8.1
PSE 13 doesn't support the Twain interface on 64bit systems and so is unlikely to support the V500.
The last release that might work for you is PSE 12 but keep in mind that there will not be any more updates for that version.
Your best bet is to download the trial version and test it on your system. If it works you might still be able to find PSE 12 for sale in some of the stores.
    Try: Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10

  • Using Epson Perfection 1670 scanner with Macbook

Can anyone point me to a work around for using my Epson Perfection 1670 scanner with my new Macbook? Drivers for the Mac OS do not appear to be available at the Epson website. Thanks much!

Thanks again for the help. I contacted Epson support and they directed me to download the same drivers that Apple Support had suggested. For some reason, the new drivers worked, even though I was really just retracing my steps and re-trying a previously attempted solution. The bottom line is, however, that I can scan photos successfully using the MacBook Pro and the Epson Perfection 1670.
    Thanks much!

  • Problem with epson v300 scanner and iMac?

My epson v300 scanner worked well with my G4, but when I got the iMac it scanned photos with parallel wavy lines in the pictures' dark areas (looks a bit like wood grain, only wavy like an EKG monitor line). Got a new one since the warranty had run out, but it did the same thing. Called epson It yesterday and their solution was to get another machine (scanner), which seems pointless, since it seems it's more likely a problem with this model. I've used Epson products for years and like them, (except for the cost of printer ink), and would probably get another of their scanners, but want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong myself first. Any advice?

  • Scanner Epson Perfection 1200S with 10.3.9

Has anybody succeeded in using the "Epson Scan" software with SCSI scanners? I have tried hard - in vain. Deleting old stuff and installing newest available drivers did not help.
Invariably a message comes up "Epson scan cannot be started". I know the hardware is working, I use it under 9.2.2 and also a test with a Vuescan trial version was successful under 10.3.9 -.
    Hans

I sent a detailed report to Epson support Germany one week ago. Today I got an answer (standardized) explaining how to install a 1200 in Windows. I complained immediately and three hours later the support man apologized and wanted to know what type of USB-cable I used?
    I Cant't believe it.
