Equal length, faux columns in the CS4 thrColHybHdr template

In this CS4 template ( three colum hybrid with header - footer, sidebar columns in em [or fixed] center column width in % capped with full span header and footer), I am trying to accomplish the look of equal column lenth (ie,the faux column technique). I'll admit I am coming up the learning curve with CSS, but I've tried to do alot of homework and read on the faux column technique. Honest! But I've yet to find an exact example of this though, and every close variation I try tweaking doesn't quite pan out.
Somebody PLEASE tell me how to get this to look just like the little pictograph of it in Dreamweaver!

I dont know if it is possible to set up faux columns with fixed / % /fixed widths, I'd love to see the answer to that.
If you were to set your center to a fixed width, its pretty easy. You wrap the 3 columns in a wrapper div, You create a background image that matches the widths of the column, set it as your background image in the wrapper div, and set the overflow rule to hidden and set repeat to y in your css.
So for example if your cols are 200px, 400px, 200px, you create an image 800px wide, height is not all that important with first 200px being the color you want your first column, 400 your center and 200 your right, You have a faux column
There is a second faux technique that has a catch to it. If you leave the width a %, what you can to is to again create the wrapper, only make the background a color, again overflow to hidden, set no color for the left and right columns. Set the center div background color to whatever you want. The catch is that you would have to make sure that the center div is always the longest, and by a good margin, otherwise you see the differences at the bottom.
That is the only way I know with fixed and % widths, but would love to hear other opinions.

The "columns" are just boxes and text aligned with tabs.
Select all of them and slide the tabs on the ruler across to tighten up the spacing.
Add more tabs to the ruler by clicking on the ruler where you want them, then right clicking on the Tab markers to change them to the type you want.
Copy and paste extra copies of the +tabs plus box+ in each line.

Issue with Faux Column solution for 2 Column website

Hi - I hope you can help me
I have come across a problem which I haven't seen before using the Faux Column method in DW CS5 - there is a white line appearing down the right side of my sidebar which I can only imagine is caused by the repeated background image I have set in the body tag.
The code I have added to the body tag in my css style sheet is;
background: #FFF url(../images/faux_background.jpg) repeat-y 50% 0;
Website where the issue is occuring is www.nurtureearlylearning.co.nz. The issue so far is appearing in Chrome, Firefox and IE. IN Chrome and FIrefox, it will appear and disappear as you adjust the screen size but there is no consitency with what size the browser is.
Please keep in mind that website is not finished yet - just an issue that i'd like to resolve so far

I'm using Firefox and I don't see a white line. Not entirely sure why you need a background image at all for this layout since the entire page is white.

Changing the column widths in a Skin template

Is it possible to modify the layout of the skins? More
specifically, change the width of the columns in the Multiab
Accordion template in the Adobe Air single source layout?
I think somebody already answered this question saying that

DRQ : add the "Project Code" column in the "Recurring Postings" function

This is a DRQ about the Recurring Postings function.
It concerns the "Recurring Postings" functionality (Menu "Financials --> Recurring Postings").
Version : 2007A SP00 PL38
Description of requirements :
In the current version of SBO ( 2007A SP00 PL38 ) when we create some recurring postings, our customers need to specify the "project code" information for each line (in addition to the "Distribution Rules").
Business needs:
Some of our SAP B1 customers use the Project codes for "Cost Accounting" follow up. They need to specify the "Project Code" for each line in the Journal entries created in SBO. In the Recurring Postings, it is not possile to specify that kind of information in the current version of SBO!
Current Workaround:
As it is not possible to specify the "Project Code" for each line added in the Recurring Postings recorded as templates, our customers have to re-open each Journal entries created thanks to Recurring Postings execution and to manually add the "Project Code" for each line where it is missing.
Proposed solution:
The solution is simple : simply add the "Project Code" column in the Recurring Postings templates will allow the journal entries created to automatically get this information and will avoid the users to modify manually each journal entries generated with the "Recurring Postings" function.

The "project" field should also be available in the "Account Balance" grid. Every journal entry has a project code so it makes no sense that you can not view, filter, or sort by this field.

How do I change the length of a column in the metadata?

A very simple package, reads data from SQL Server and FTPs it to a destination. I have zero experience with SSIS.
I had to add a new column (HEA_ID) to the input and output. The output record has a filler at the end (I hope you know what a filler is) and the new column has to go before the filler and the filler length reduced accordingly.
Problem: there is no apparent way to place the new column anywhere but after the Filler. The filler in the metadata is the wrong length and there is no way that I can see to change the length.
There is a yellow exclamation mark on the Flat File destination (where the filler is wrong length)
I get these erros when I run the updated package.
"The external metadata column is out of sync with the data source column. The column 'HEA_ID' needs to be updated in the external metadata column collection".
"The column filler needs to be updated in the external metadata column collection"
I have no idea how to fix these errors. Help needed.

According to your description, you add a new column HEA_ID and make some changes in filler column in the External Columns, so those two columns are out of sync with the data source column.
Please note that columns are created based on the data source columns. So we couldn’t directly change them in the Flat File Destination Advanced Editor.
To avoid this error message, just as Visakh said, just review mappings once again in the Flat File Destination. If we want to change the columns in the Flat File Destination, we need change the source columns.

Deleting an extra column in the resultset of genericsearch page

Hello E-Commerce Experts,
we have a requirement where we need to delete a column in the resultset of the quicksearch trasactions in the genericsearch page.
In order to hide this column we placed a condition in the action class from where we are getting the contents in the column.
Now, we are unable to see the contents in the column but we are getting an empty column.
As the genericsearch page gets genereted dynamically,we are unable to place any condition on that extra column.
Can anyone suggest how to prevent this column from appearing on the screen. Do we need to set any parameters or anything.

You do not need to modify Action class for just hiding Trash column.
Put below lines of code as I have suggested in *genericsearch.jsp* file you will able to hide *Trash* column without modifying Action class.
You need to do 2 things to achieve your goal.
First remove Header cell for Trash column and then remove trash icon cell from each row.

1) First Hide cell from Header Row.

How do I increase the width of the first column in the Terminal ls -l command?

I am now running 10.9.x, but I've experienced the problem described in the question over the last several iterations of OS X.
I use bash as my interactive shell. When I display the "ls -l" command in Terminal the output is often very difficult for me to scan, because the columns in which are displayed the several fields of the records for the listed files are misaligned (different left-hand first-letter starting points for left-aligned text-valued fields; different right-hand low-digit alignment of numerical fields).
When I look more closely at the mess displayed in my Terminal window, it appears that the cause of the problem may be that no minimum width, or an inadequate minimum width, has somewhere been set or defined for the first column of each record, containing the file's "mode" string (permissions, etc.); for all records in which this string is of equal length, the succeeding columns for all fields in those records are themselves aligned.
It has not always been thus for me in the Terminal with OS X, or else I might not dream that the world could be a better place in this one respect. But if I launch an interactive csh-shell instead of bash in Mavericks today, the columns of the ls -l command there align no better.
I've found no help in the Unix man pages for the ls command. There is a COLUMNS environment variable whose value is supposed to be used by the ls command to set the width of every column displayed, but this is not what I want to do, and in my shell "ls -l" seems to ignore the exported variable anyway.
There is also an LS_COLWIDTHS environment variable that is described as setting column widths on a field-by-field basis, at least for some fields, but the the mode column is not included among those whose width is supposed to be adjustable, and my shell seems to ignore the value of this variable as well.
I've looked in my rather simple ~/.profile and ~/.bashrc files for anything that I might plausibly suspect of producing or perpetuating this behavior, but there is nothing there. Any suggestions about how to remedy this problem?

I would like you to perform a safe boot. On reboot, press and hold the shift key at the chime, until the grey horizontal bar appears. After you type in your password, press and hold the shift key again, then click the right arrow to login, and release the shift key when your desktop appears. Move the contents of your local ~/Library/Caches into the Trash. Reboot normally. Empty your Trash.
Re-evaluate your Terminal behavior. If it now works ok, great. Otherwise, here are a sequence of screen shots of my Terminal preferences for comparison. There's no need to use a DECODE statement when a CASE will do the same, and more, certainly if you want to check for range values rather than equality values as in your ">= SYSDATE - 90".
Not quite sure what your error message means either. Seems to be nonesense as it says the maximum is 6 and it's getting 4, but 4 is not greater than 6 so it shouldn't be a problem.

Faux Columns - Problems Understanding and Implementing

The layout content consists of
A header (left; position absolute)
mainContent (floated right)

sidebar (floated left)
footer (cleared: both)
wrapper (contains everything and provides stone texture background)
I've read a little about faux columns, but
1) I'm not entirely sure I understand the concept. I'm really new to CSS.
2) I want to apply a fix to my current site and not re-do everything. Because I am new to CSS, it's taken me forever!
The examples cited on the pages I read dealt with columns of the same length. On my page, the "main content" starts at the top and the sidebar starts further down. I could cheat and add more height to the sidebar and main content, but it might not look very good if someone is using a font-size of 30 or something. Also, my footer would get lost. (Would this be an adequate if nothing else works?

If I have to redo everything, I could put the header, mainNav and sidebar into a single column, since they are the same size. In that case, still explain it to me like I'm five.

I've messed around with a wrapper similar to the one you made for me (very nice by the way), but I don't think the faux column approach will work for me without a major page design overhaul. The repeating structure is interrupted at various points by a 15 px border of the stone texture, which I would like to keep, especially around the header. The wrapper background is then out of sync with the rest of the page. (The tear pattern doesn't match between the background for the sidebar and the background for the wrapper.) I tried setting top padding. I can get the two to sync, but then the top of the page looks ridiculous.
I could re-design the header, mainNav and the sidebar into a single column, but sync between the wrapper and the images on the sidebar would still be a problem because I would like to keep the 15px border around the logo on the left and (if possible) between "main nav" and the sidebar.
I've read about a javascript solution, but there are some issues:
1) I know nothing about javascript
2) I'm wondering if the two columns must start at the same place on the page. My "sidebar" div starts way below the "main content" div. I'd like both to extend to the end of the "main content" div.
3) If I created a two-column page (each column starts at the same distance from the top of the page, would the javascript work? Will it work with the page layout as it is?
My last resort would be to set the height to "auto" on the main content and match the height of the sidebar according to default font size. It may not look as pretty as it could for some people, but it's better than nothing, I suppose.
If you can think of a better option for me, let me know, especially if someone could help me with the javascript.

P.P.S It turns out it's not much of a solution because it doesn't look the same in live view, Firefox and IE. Each is different.

Data of column datatype CLOB is moved to other columns of the same table

I have an issue with the tables having a CLOB datatype field.
When executing a simple query on a table with a column of type CLOB it returns error [POL-2403] value too large for column.

Checking deeply, some of the rows have got the data of the CLOB column moved in another column of the table.
When doing select length(nbc_providercode) the length is bigger than the datatype of the field (varchar(40)).
When doing substr(nbc_providercode,1,40) to see the content of the field, a portion of the Clob data is retrieved.

The content of the field is part of the content of the field text (datatype CLOB, containts an XML)!!!
The right content of the field must be 'MTS' (retrieved from Central DB).
The CLOB is being inserted into the Central DB, not into the Client ODB. Data is synchronized from CDB to ODB and the data is reaching the client in a wrong way.
The issue can be recreated all the time in the same DB, but between different users the "corrupted" records are different.
Any idea?

hi all,
I moved Transoft USQL Database from one server to another, even though i am able to validate the server with usql client but my crystal reports is giving errors while trying to open up some of the reports.
Unfortunately doesnt happens for all the reports, it happens for only for the reports which prompts for values in preview screen.
This is the error i get

Details:HY000:[Transoft][TSODBC][MF](log: 3816-175022)offset and/or length of column exceeds maxium record length of 0
Thats it i get a blank crystal report screen.

Don't use localhost as your server name. It's a reserved name and should not be used in code.

How to add a column at the end of table in already designed document..?
