Hi,
I develop application using visual web pack + netbeans, it work fine with tomcat but when i want deploy it in our prod environment (Oracle ias) i have the following error:
Base Exception:
java.rmi.RemoteException
deploy failed!: ; nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: version. deploy failed!: ; nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: version
the oas version 10.1.2.0.2
the same oc4j run application developed using java studio creator
Walid
I think SS work's only under Apache Tomcat
I was try deploy SS 9.2.1 and 9.3.1 on Oracle iAS and Weblogic 9.2.MP1
and have similar error.(- can't register planning application)
But Planning and EAS on Oralce and Weblogic works fine .
p.s. OiAS - it's closed product - use Weblogic for new ENV.
If you need detaled instruction for setup - please read documentation

Problems with the deployment to Oracle Application Server 9.0.2
I am having a problem to deploy a simple JSC application to Oracle Application Server 9.0.2.
I am getting an error:

However i don't have any problems to deploy my applications to new release of Oracle AS 10g (9.0.4).
Unfortunately we still work with the old version (9.0.2)of the Oracle AS.
Any help will be greatly appriciated
Thanks
YuriyI try it but cant deploy in less than 10g.
AFAIR is an JRE version issue.
I lost at least 2 days trying.

A.Hi,
do you deploy the Spring classes with the application ? I suggest to try the OracleAs forum as well to ensure this has to be in a specific path to be loaded. A list of forums is available from here

Oracle Application Server 10g R3 with patch set 10.1.3.5.0
Hi All,
Can anyone help me on this, When I install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) and patch set 10.1.3.5.0 on Linux. I am not able to find forms and reports container.
This version doesn't support forms and reports or I have go OAS 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) with patch set 3 (10.1.2.3.0). What is the difference between these two releases.
Please help me.
Regards,Hi James,
1)Yes it supports IE 8 .Please review the below link for certification details on browers :-
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/as-certification-r2-101202-095871.html#BAJGCBEA
Note: Oracle Application Server supports only those browsers.
2)Forms only support Windows 7 32 bit only.
Please refer to the note:1292919.1 "Certification of Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2) on Windows 7 (32-bit)"
3)Could you provide more information of JVM because when you install 10gR2 it has JDK and JRE present in it.

Oracle Application server related issue
My application is developed using Oracle Developer suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2 ) and deployed in Oracle Application Server 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) in windows 2003 32 bit and its working fine.
My issue is as follows
1. Since Oracle Application Server 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) is not supported in windows 2008 64 bit, pls advise what version of Application Server 10g i should use. Please note that my
programs are developed using Oracle Developer suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2 ).
2. If i want to move to next development version (ie forms / Reports 11g) , which version of application server should i use.
JoeThe 2nd disk is Companion CD. It contains the install files for other components.
For instance, If you want to install Oracle HTTP Server only, then you use the companion CD to do so. It has many other individual installations.

Web Services Requirements on Oracle Application Server 10g
Is there any special requirements for deploying Web Services to Oracle Application Server 10g? I can deploy a Hello World Web Service to Oracle 9i 9.0.3 (OC4J + Web Cache) without UDDI but if I try to deploy to Oracle Application Server 10g (OC4J + Web Cache) it does not recognize it as a Web Service? Is UDDI now required for Web Services on 10g?
No. Not only it isn't certified, but it is also impossible to run forms compiled with the 11g compiler with the 10g runtime. For 11g there is a install bundle for the developer suite / application server.

Answers to your questions
1. I tried reinstalling OAS 10g today.
I did not enter the host name and/or domain name during installation, as it took both Automatically.
I see in config files the host name configured as - myhost.mydomain.com
where actual host name = myhost
and domain name = mydomain.com
I did give the domain name while giving the Global database name as
sid.mydomain.com
2. SSO server login is working.I'm able to login with "orcladmin" user, for url
http://myhost.mydomain.com:7779/pls/orasso
3. See the log statement in the log file at path

Oracle Application Server Control Console
Hello,
We have Oracle Database 10g on 1 server. Now we are installing Oracle Application Server 10g on another server (Windows 2003). We choose "J2EE AND WEB CACHE" as install type. In the end of installation, we click the welcome page and page shows well. But in welcome page, when we click "Oracle Application Server Login", it will open a blank page without any error message. During the installation, everything looks fine. We used URL which stored in oracle_home\install\readme.txt, it will open a blank page also. Does anybody can share any information?
Thanks in advance!!!1) Look in the $ORACLE_HOME/install directory ... ports used for the various functions such as EM are usually listed in the portlist.ini file in each Oracle Home
2) Ask in the App Server forum. There is an assumption that questions in the Database forum are primarily focussed on Database issues. <g> -
Error -8 when deploying JHeadStart application to Oracle Application Server
Hi,
I have developed an application using Oracle JHeadstart 10.1.3 Preview Version 10.1.3.0.78
We have Oracle Application Server 10g running in AS400. I created a connection to the server and tested. It shows the connection success.
I am trying to deploy my application to Oracle Application Server 10g but getting the following error:
Closing connection to Oc4jDcmServlet
#### DCM command did not complete successfully (-8)
#### HTTP return code was -8
Exit status of DCM servlet client: -8
Elapsed time for deployment: 30 seconds
#### Deployment incomplete. #### 25-Jul-2006 2:21:44 PM
I developed applications in JDev10.1.2 and deployed to the same server (Oracle Application Server 10g) without any problem.
But if I want to deploy application from JDev10.1.3 then I am having this error.
Can anybody help me? what might be the problem?
Thanks
SyedSyed,
Did you generate your application with service -level property "JSP version" set to "1.2"? If not, you cannot deploy your app to a J2EE 1.3 application server like Oracle AS 10.1.2.

Deploying Jave portlet on Oracle Application Server 10g
I have installed Oracle 10g Application server, donwloaded and installed JDevleoper 9.0.5.1 and the latest Java Portal Development and as well as the JDeveloper portlet-addin. Now, I followed the instructions from the http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/ARTICLES/BUILD.JSR168.PORTLETS.USING.JAVA.PORTLET.WIZARD.9IJDEVELOPER.HTML
On using JDeveloper addin wizrd to create a java portlet and so far so good. However, I am stuff on the last bit on deployment. It document says "# Now use the URL provided in the log page at the bottom of JDeveloper to get part of your URL (e.g. http://myserver.uk.oracle.com:8888/my-portlet) and complete the URL.
http://myserver.uk.oracle.com:8888/my-portlet/portlets?WSDL
Now use this URL to register your portlet with OracleAS Portal.
But when i deploy my application (just a test thing), from the deployment tab I get:

My question is, HOW DO I ACCESS the deployed application, since it didn't specify the URL where it's deployed????
Many thanks
P/S
I have tried:
http://{myserver}:8888/{my-portlet}/portlets?WSDL but that doesn't workHi FormsEleven,
When you say you can do this or you have done for demo then considering following directory structure if I have two forms having common form names how it will be resolved?
Or how the url to access these forms will be?
As shown in the following structure consider we have Form1 in sub directory1 as well as in sub-directory2 then how the link to access these forms will be?
- Hosting Directory (formsweb.cfg entry)
- Sub Directory1
- Form1
- Form2
- Sub Directory2
- Form1
- Form4
- Sub Directory3
- Form5
- Form6
