Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.

Hello
I have been receiving this error message for the last two weeks while trying to transfer files from a network drive into my laptop. I have a 3TB WD My Book Live connected to my home network through a netgear DGN2000 router. I also use it to stream videos
to a smart tv.
I didn't have any problem ever since I connected it the first time. However, it has started showing up this error message now. I can't copy or move files either way. I tried a number of options, such as reset my router, shut down and reconnected the network
drive but none seem to have worked now. Now, I can't stream videos. Also, I am not able to upgrade the firmware of the network drive.
Any help please.
Thanks

Hi,
Do you have some anti-virus software installed and set to scan network drive, temporarily disable it, check if that is the cause.
I also suggest you update the firmware of your router.
Please alos share more information in event viewer with us as mentioned by ZigZag31343x
Meanwhile you can contact the support of My Book Live

  • SQL SERVER 2012 Installed to SMB share Error 59 (An unexpected network error occurred)

I have installed SQL 2012 on a clustered file share. When I try to add space to extend the log file for a database I get the following error
    Msg 5149, Level 16, State 3, Line 1
MODIFY FILE encountered operating system error 59(An unexpected network error occurred.) while attempting to expand the physical file '\\server\share\path to ldf file.ldf'
The SQL service is running under a local domain account that does not have administrator rights to the system.  The service account does have full disk and share permissions and the service starts without any problems.  I have applied all the cluster
hotfixes and all the current Windows Updates.  If I log into the system as the SQL service domain user account I can access the share and have full rights to it.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

The LDF file is 16 GB
Free space on the drive is 62 GB
Expansion is set to 10 percent
I have several instances on this cluster, some are installed to drive letters and others to the clustered file share.  The error only occurs on the SQL 2012 instances that are installed to the clustered file share.
I installed them to the clustered file share because I am running out of drive letters in the cluster.

  • External hard drive networked via AirPort Extreme gives "The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)" roughly every two days

My lab has about 10 Mac computers.  We all access a central hard drive by the way of wifi provided by AirPort.  It's just a regular external hard drive (Seagate Desktop Drive) that I turned into our central storage space by plugging it into AirPort (USB).  It works pretty well.  We seem to be fine with viewing the file directories, opening files, saving, deleting etc., for a day or two.  But then after a day or two, when when trying to modify files or move new files onto the central hard drive, we get the error message: "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)"
Any suggestions as to what may be causing this problem?
All of the computers are 2011 iMacs & MacPros.  The AirPort is 802.11n WiFi.  The hard drive is a Seagate USB 3.0 Desktop Drive.
    Thank you for your insight/suggestions.

Thanks for your reply.  I agree about the communication issue. Let me explain my setup and what I am trying to do and perhaps you can answer my questions or make suggestions.
I have a MAC Mini with a Sony TV for the video monitor.  The  Mac Mini is hard wired to the AE (Airport Extreme).  The AE has a 2 TB HD hooked up to the USB Port.  I have a 17" Mac Book Pro on the WIFI Network.
I am trying to use the MAc Mini as a "Media Server" of sorts.  Once I get iTunes running the way I plan I am goign to hook up my Apple TV (2nd Generation) to my television downstairs.
What I am trying to accomplish is have iTunes on all my computers look to the External HD on the AE for the files.  This is why I am having my (-50 errors).
So far I have noticed that if I go and try to download from iTunes purchased videos that are not ont he computer (to the external HD) it will also occassionaly give me teh -50 error.
Is there a way to change where the files go when I download them?  Say I want to download videos to the computer but not to the external HD?  However I would want to still be able to move them to the External HD.

  • The document could not be saved. an unexpected network error occurred

I have several users on a terminal server that access a PDF from a file server. This PDF has many fillable fields like Name: with an empty text box next to it.
Sometimes when the users open this PDF everything is missing except the fillable text fields. If they try to save the file they get the error in the subject of this ticket:
the document could not be saved. an unexpected network error occurred
Obviously, this sounds like a networking error, but 2 things.
    1) The terminal server and the file server on both virtual servers on the same host, using the same SAN. Very unlikely to have a networking error.
    2) This doesn't happen to every, it seems to be only affecting 3 of about 25 right now, and it is not all the time.
Any thoughts? I have checked to see if there were any hidden lock files, but that wasn't it. Google-fu turned up nothing.
    Thanks for your help

  • Windows 8 - Right Click Network Connection Properties - An unexpected error occurred

    Hi,
I'm encountering an issue with a relatively new Windows 8 Pro x64 install (Been running about a week).
When attempting to right click on the Network Connection and select "Properties", I receive the following error:
    "An unexpected error occurred"
The error also occurs when trying to disable the adapter. The network connection DOES work though. I have received an IP from my DHCP router and have network/internet access.
I have tried the Windows XP/7 "fix":
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\netshell.dll, and then click OK.
    3. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.
Test to see if you can open the properties of the network connection in the Network Connections folder.
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\ole32.dll, and then click OK.
    3. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.
    4. Restart the computer.
Both did NOT work. I have also attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the Network Driver. I have also tried "SFC /scannow".
    Neither of these worked either.

  • Publishing Universal App - An unexpected network error has occurred

    Hello,
Each time that we tried to "Associate App with Store" or Create App package" via Visual Studio 2013 to publish our Windows Phone 8.1 Universal app, we have the error "An unexpected network error has occurred. the app list cannot be refreshed.
Please retry by pressing the refresh button".
Our account has more 100 WP apps, and we saw that it could be the problem?
With Silverlight app, it was easy to generate a XAP. But now with Universal Apps, due to this issue, we are blocking! Please Microsoft, can you correct this bug?
    Thanks
    ClevLab (www.clevlab.com)

    Hello Sroye.
I have been struckling with the same problem. Copying large data amounts between my MacBook and my Airdisk works perfectly (though slowly).
But copying data amounts larger than about 300MB from my XP to my airdisk suddenly stops with the error you get. Hereafter I cannot access the airdisk until I have re-started both my AEBS and my 500GB LaCie HFS+ formatted disk drive.
I use the new 7.1.1 firmware version in my AEBS.
    Have you solved your problem?
    Kind regards Thomas.

  • An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge

Windows XP Pro SP2, a new TP61 6460 6WG, all Win updates, all Lenovo updates.
Everything works fine except... when I'm trying to create a network bridge I always get the following: An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge.
This is not the situation described in Microsoft's Knowledge Base KB309640 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309640/en-us). I have no ICS, no ICF.
    Any ideas?

I had the same problem and was really frustrated. I was about to pull my hairs out but then i was finally able to solve it. The solution is deleting some files of WMI repository. The complete details can be found on my blog http://cheatppc.blogspot.com/2008/07/unexpected-error-has-occured-while.html
    Hope this solves the problem.

  • "An unexpected error occurred. Try again." Extreme/Express cannot connect to existing network

Recently my Speedstar wired modem died. So I had a relatively unused NETGEAR DG834GT wireless modem. Had no idea the old AirPort Extreme Base Station with modem was giving me crappy Wi-Fi speeds. I am enjoying speeds almost 6 x faster now. However I had to reset my entire Wi-Fi network and create a new one. I have an ethernet cable connected from the NETGEAR to the AirPort Extreme. I just want to extend my new Wi-Fi network so I have AirPlay back up and running on my three separate surround sound systems.
    SPECS
OSX 10.9.4 (both MacBook Air and Mac Mini)
    AirPort Utility 6.3.2
    AirPort Extreme (2nd generation)
AirPort Express (1st and 2nd generation)
    NETGEAR DG834GT (Mode g & b, WPA-PSK Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
AirPort Utility initially displayed all three Airport devices, but with the exclamation mark. I assume it was because I had set up an new Wi-Fi network with a new wireless modem so I had to "Forget" network and start over again.
I've reseted each and every AirPort device to factory setting. AirPort Utility recognised each "new" device, and I selected "Join existing network." After several tries, AirPort Utility continually tells me that "An unexpected error occurred. Try again." This happens every time.
I followed Apple's Support advice: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4597 "AirPort base station not seen or "An unexpected error occurred" appears in AirPort Utility 6.3" to no avail (configuring it to Link-Local).
What can I do so both my MacBook Air and Mac Mini can talk to each other (instead of opening AirDrop all the time) and for AirPlay to work on my three surround sound systems? One would assume that all AirPort devices should be able to readily and easily join an existing network. Is it due to my NETGEAR not playing nice with Apple AirPort devices due to it's wireless capabilities? I even entered through the NETEAR setup wizard and checked if any devices had connected via MAC, but it had none listed.
    What should I do?

Reset the express to factory settings.
Place it in the same room as the TC..
If you are going to extend wireless do not connect ethernet.. just go through the setup from the airport utility.. if it fails.. welcome to Yosemite. The worst piece of network for ages..
Do you have ipad.. even an iphone .. load the airport utility on and run the setup from there.. it is much more reliable.

  • 59 An unexpected network error occurred

    Hi everyone,
    This is a strange one.
We are using a TMG for a VPN (amongst other things such as web publishing etc)
We are using some software called 2X  to connect to something on a part of our network,  internally this works ok, but users on our VPN cant connect to it, but they can connect to everything else.  2X is a program that connects on port 80.
From the VPN we can ping the host that the 2x software connects to, we can even RDP to the servers the 2X software is pointing to (once we set up a standard 3389 rule for this) but it wont work as it should via port 80.  Its something to do with
    this port 80 connection.
In TMG logs we get - 59 An unexpected network error occurred.
I have tried a block and allow rule, in various orders but cant get it to work.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If I understand correctly, the VPN users cannot connect to the 2X software via port 80 as something else is
    using port 80, right?
In addition, there would be multiple reasons for system error 59. Would you please provide the entire error
message or other related information in TMG logs? I would appreciate it if you can also share the publishing rules or other rules on the TMG server for us.
Based on my experience, TCP port 80 is often used by HTTP. You can run “netstat -ano” at the command
prompt on the server which hosts the 2X software to find PID which is using local port 80. Then based on the PID, to find the related process in Task Manager.

    Susie

  • An unexpected network error occurred

    Dear all,
I have a DC Windows Server 2003 which is a File Server too. There is a shared drive and I used the NET USE command in the Server in order to open the shared drive/folder in the client computers Windows XP and Windows 7 when they turn on their computers.
It was working normally in the past. It is about two weeks that when the client turn on his/her computer the shared drive does not open, when double-click on the share drive from client computer we receive the error message "An unexpected network error occurred"
and we can not get access to the share drive in the Server. of course I can ping the server, if I try to connect to DC by \\servername or \\Server-IP address, still I got the same error message.
Would you kindly help me, and thanks in advance for support.
    Best regards,
    Ahmad

    Hi Ahmad,
    Thanks for posting here.
So is there any error or warring can be verified form this Windows Server 2003 domain controller ? have we check the time on both side and is it synchronized?
According to current symptoms It does look like the issue in the KB article below if this server does have a AMD based CPU , can you confirm that ? have we patched service pack 2 for this server already ?
A Windows Server 2003-based server may experience time-stamp counter drift if the server uses dual-core AMD Opteron processors or multiprocessor AMD Opteron processors

  • An unexpected error occurs when extending my network

I am trying to extend my Time Capsule with my Airport Extreme via a network cable between both units. However, when the Airport Utility finds the Airport Extreme and tried to extend the network (from the TS to include the AE), then I get the same error each time "an unexpected error occured".
Can anyone assist and help me find out what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

You do not extend the network if you are using ethernet between them..
Do not tick the extend network on the TC.. Do not use extend a network on the AEBS.
    Do as follows.
    1. Set the AEBS to bridge.
    2. Set the wireless in the AEBS to create a network.
    3. Set the wireless name and security.. here you have two choices.. but most likely you want roaming. So set them exactly the same as the TC.
    4. Lock channels on both TC and the AEBS to different values. This is not 100% required but I think will help stability. The auto setting should be able to keep them from interferring.
If you actually want to use extend the network.. disconnect the ethernet.. you are repeating over wireless.

  • Time capsule flashes amber before setup, when I input the network info it keeps saying "an unexpected error occured, please try again". Already tried 10 times, even resetting, same thing keeps happening... What to do?

When I open my airport utility it detects the time capsule, but when I set everything up (name, choose the internet connection, etc) it takes a minutes, says waiting for time capsule... And then "an unexpected error occured, please try again". I tried 10 times, the same thing keeps happening... On top of that the orange light keeps blinking as soon as i turn it on. Tried to reset it also. Doesn't change a thing...

Sorry you have had such a bad first impression..
Is the ipv6 turned on? This was an after thought as they seem to have released both firmware and utility and woken up after the event to the fact they actually needed ipv6 on to manage it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4597
Otherwise I don't see what you are using to connect to the TC from the iMac.. is it wired or wireless??
Can I suggest you do the setup again.
This time use ethernet to the TC.. in full isolation from the network. And do the setup manually.
You may need to factory reset again.. sorry about that .. and start over.. only the Mac plugged into the TC.. nothing else.
You may need further help just post where you get up to and we can sort out what is happening from there.
This often works easier at the start from the airport utility in iphone or ipad if you have one.

  • Airport Express won't connect to network, blinking amber light, and "unexpected error occurred."

I have two aiport expresses - both have the problem.  Both continue to have a blinking amber light, when I go through all the setup activities, after completing the factory reset multiple times, I simply get "An unexpected error occurred."
In fact after I do this, my laptop has issues connecting to the network.  I have Verizon Fios, not sure if that means anything.
Haven't seen this covered in any of the troubleshooting materials; they just keep going to factory reset to solve all problems, which I've done several times with each device to the same end.
    Any ideas?

Hi - You can install 5.6 on Mountain Lion but it is tricky - here are instructions from a post by guru Bob Timmons -
The workaround is to use a utility like Pacifist to manually extract the application and then manually install it in the Utilities folder - see this link:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167965/mountain_lion_and_the_ancient_airport_ba se_station.html
Another workaround....if you have Time Machine backups.....is to back in time to locate AirPort Utility 5.6 and restore it to the desktop. Then drag it into the Utilities folder.
