Error 28000 --- can't install VPN

Hello there,
I used the VPN Client for a long time and needed to uninstall it. I can't quite remember but I think that the control panel was giving me a hard time so I tried to delete it manually. Now I want to install it again, because it is essential for me to use Skype for example. But when I try to install it, I always get an error message (28000).
I've already tried this

My problem is that I have to use a VPN with Junos Pulse to connect through SSH a remote network.
With Mac osx 10.6.8 this was staight forward but now I install Junos Pulse but when I open my shell and do SSH nothing happens.
Any clue?

I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked. Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

I had the same problem (update failed for normal user, update worked for administrator, but then normal user still got asked about installing the update even though it was already done).
Following the advice on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_update#Software_Update_not_working_properly worked for me, in particular to remove the update-related xml files.

When trying to download Boot Camp Windows Support Software, error says: "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."

I use a Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010 on Mavericks and I've tried using the Boot Camp assistant to download support software for Windows 7. This gives the error "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."
Further, I tried to separately download Boot Camp 4 and 5. When I do this and try to install from Windows 7, it says that this version of Boot Camp is not for this computer and doesn't install. The result is that I have Windows 7 working and installed, but am unable to use the trackpad to rightclick, brightness settings, etc.

You need to run Bootcamp Assistant and select only the menu item to download the Windows Support Software. Follow the instructions. The download servers are extremely slow therefore it may take several hours to get the download.

Error 1719 can't install I-tunes

Got an Ipod nano,2cd gen. and I have I-tunes ver 6 on my Win's pc. Tried to download Ver.7, and it says Can't install due to inability to find Windows Installer. Error 1719. I went to control Panel and tried to delete the old version, and got the same message. I've rebooted the pc, I've gone to MS's webpage and downloaded a "patch' something about needing a virtual thingy, and that didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas? And why is this happening? Thanks

Ok, I've called Microsoft, and installed a new installer, ver. 3.1, Microsoft will not help me, due to having an OEM machine, and I have to pay $79 to talk to them.
I've called the Manufacturers of Ipod, and they tried to setup a new "profile" for me , but it kept coming up w/ can't install , can't un-install. The guy told me to call Microsoft and if that didn't work call back. I haven't called back yet because I've spent 3 days since I've gotten this "present" working on getting one silly jukebox. Sorry, I'm frustrated. Can I take the darn thing back? Or is there something else I can do? I tried the Win's Cleanup Utility, installed the VBscribt, and like I said installed the Ver.3.1 installer and nothing will allow me to install this Version of I-tunes. What else is there to do???? Thanks for your help, I do appreciate it, just verrry frustrated.

I am trying to install vpn update, but at the destination select step I am told that I nead to have osx version 10.9.1; I actually have 10.9.2 so I can not select destination and can't understand why.

Error: 800F0922 - Can't Install a Single Update!

Every time I try to install updates they get downloaded, installed and asks for restart to continue. After the restart it says:
Can't install updates
Undoing changes..
I tried googling error: 800F0922 and did everything I could find and still no go.
1. Disabled "Secure boot" in bios
2. Tried troubleshooting the updates, it said it fixed the database, but that did not work either
3. Tried a clean boot disabling all startup programs still no go
I'm extremely frustrated with this I lost hours on dealing with this and nothing seems to fix it.

Before you reinstall Windows, there may be some other options.
First, check your hard drive for any errors. You can accomplish this by following these steps:
Go to File Explorer.
Right-click on your hard drive.
Select Properties.
Select the Tools tab.
Click on the Check button under Error Checking.
If there are no errors found, you can either select Cancel or you can select Scan drive to go ahead and scan the drive anyways.
If errors are found, select Repair drive. Once the repair is completed, select Show Details to see the chkdsk logs.
When you mention troubleshooting the updates, did that include resetting the
Windows Update components?
If not, take a look at the linked page and follow the instructions.
Another option is to run the
System File Checker tool to repair any missing or corrupted system files.
In addition to the System File Checker tool, you can also try using the
Deployment Imaging and Servicing Management (DISM) tool to correct your issue.

Touchsmart IQ524 hard drive crashed. Ran Recovery CDs and I get an error Windows can not install on

I have an HP Touchsmart IQ524 which the hard drive crashed. I replaced the hard drive with the exact same model. I run the Recovery CDs (which I purchased from HP website) and it goes all the way through the process and after the reboot I get a message that "Windows can not install software on this hardware" - so it never completes the process. I have formatted the hard drive and bought and returned 3 hard drives. Any suggestions and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I love recovery disks when they work, and HATE them when they don't.
Fortunately, I have a workaround for you which isn't as good as a recovery disk, but it is better than pulling your hair out, and getting nowhere.
First of all, before you try this, did you perform the recovery with only the keyboard and mouse connected?
Did you buy the same size or larger hard drive?
If your answer to either question is no, then that may be the problem.
Now to the workaround...
If you're up to a slight but rewarding challenge you can make your own if you can read your 25 character Vista product key on the PC.
Just download the 3 files you need at the link below, and read all of the instructions to create a bootable DVD installation disk using imageburn.
Disregard the part of the text under the first screen shot about "extract the files to the Vista folder."
The files were already extracted to that folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screen shot.
The other thing I noticed is on the 4th screen shot, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in myself, and then the other codes automatically populated.
When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message that about a WIM file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.
I selected No, make the ISO file.
It was not that hard to do. I burned both the 64 bit disk and the 32 bit disk in case I ever need them.
I tested both of them on my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, they worked perfectly.
When you enter the product key, it knows what version of Vista you have.

Error 36 - can't install App - iTunes account confusion

Some Background:
There was some serious confusion last year as the school started setting up iPads using Configurator. For some reason the ipad person then used their personal iTunes AppleID to download the apps - the paid ones are the only ones i'm having problems with.
their personal AppleID was NOT used to purchase the apps - but a second one.
This year we switch the machine to using an institutional AppleID - have purchased additional codes using the correct VPP account. Successfully imported the codes into Apple Configurator.
When trying to push the app onto the ipads, I'm getting a error code #36 - "Unable to redeem code for XXXX. Sign in with your [?] and password or create a new Apple ID to redeem your Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card."
I went so far as to unsupervise a device and start from scratch - same issue.
iTunes **IS** authorized for the institutional account.
SO.....
is is possible that the codes are tied into the personal VPP account used for part of last year?
Really - we could have codes tied to TWO AppleIDs?
Can iTunes be authorized for two different AppleIDs?
anyone know of any way to resolve this situation?

I'll attempt to answer the questions that you posed in the OP and also explain what I have discovered as a workaround (albeit a very annoying one) for the issue.
1. It is entirely possible that the VPP codes are tied to the older, personal VPP account. VPP codes do not have to be downloaded by the same account that they are purchased with, in fact, in my experience, you cannot create an Apple ID for use in the iTunes Store with the account that you use to purchase VPP codes.
2. You also could have codes associated with two Apple ID's, though again, I have never been able to use an Apple ID it iTunes that I used to purchase VPP codes.
3. iTunes can be authorized by multiple Apple ID's. I assume that there is an upper limit to the number of accounts that can be authorized on a single library, but I do no know what that number is.
4. There is no way to truly "resolve" this situation. One of the major problems with the Apple ID system is that there is no way to transfer purchases between Apple ID's. That being said, if the old VPP codes have already been used, be advised that you never actually have those codes opened back up, as they have already been redeemed in the store. You will simply have additional licenses of an app available through Configurator to install to devices.
As far as the issue described, I too ran into the problem of getting the error code 36. I discovered that before I deploy paid apps, if I open iTunes (with Configurator closed) and choose "Authorize this Computer" from the Store menu, I can re-authorize the system (I get a message stating that the computer has already been authorized.) Once that is complete, I open Configurator and start a deployment, and once I start that Configurator will prompt me for the Apple ID password to complete the app deployment. The really unfortunate part of the process is that I have to perform this process every single time I start a new deployment of paid apps, even if no changes have been made in Configurator between installations. It appears to me that plist is not getting updated, but I am not familiar enough with Configurator to confirm this is the case. It is certainly annoying, but this workaround is at least allowing me to get devices deployed.

DISK ERROR and also HAL.DLL error - I can't install XP SP2

I'm at my wits end and am fed up by errors I've been getting trying to install XP SP2. I bought my Mac because of bootcamp interoperability as I need to use Windows applications for my work, so I get the best of both worlds. Parallels is out of the question as I don't get the speed I need.
I have a late-2007 revision 24" iMac (3gb/24"/2.4 C2D) and had Bootcamp running perfectly before upgrading to Leopard (with 10.4.9/10) - almost too perfect: it just worked! I have since upgraded to Leopard and today went to reinstall Windows as I did a clean install and wiped everything to start from scratch.
I have spent 4 hours reading forum after forum trying permutation after permutation of options and can't get it to work. I get
DISK ERROR
PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART
When installing on any volume size using Fat32, and if I format NTFS, I get an error about a missing HAL.DLL.
I have verified that under both Fat32 files are copied as expected. Confirmed drive format as Fat32.
I also have the latest firmware update that was delivered a week or so ago via software update. I don't know if this could be the cause?
This is frustrating me beyond belief. If anyone can help, it'd be very very much appreciated.

I have also been having serious issues, and this worked for me also. Before (In Leopard with BootCamp 2.0) I could partition ok, and everything else, but the Windows installer just wouldn't give me the option of reformatting the drive (formatted to FAT32 by BootCamp v. 2) to NTFS. To re-iterate, if you're having these DISK ERROR problems, do the following:
Backup all files
Use Leopard/Tiger install disk to wipe the entire hard drive (all volumes mac and pc) with Disk Utility (this may not be necessary, but it could clear up the problem)
Install Tiger (10.4)
Run Bootcamp (in Tiger), partition, install Windows, and install drivers
Install Leopard (you may choose "erase" within the Installer since this will just wipe the Mac partition)
Now you're good to go. For running Bootcamp on Tiger, you will need to download BootCamp beta 1.4, there is at least one mirror (and a 1.3 one too) that you can easily find with google. Also, if you're having trouble installing with the beta after December 2007, try setting back the clock and disconnecting from the Internet.
Although it is very strange that Bootcamp 2.0 (or Leopard) have broken the ability to install.

When trying to install the software, various versions tried, I get a message that it is not compatible with this version of Mac. I run Yosemite on my Macbook. Which version of Time Capsule Utility should I download and install?

You don't need to download and install anything.
You already have the most up to date version of AirPort Utility on your Mac.
Click on the Finder (that smiley face icon on the on at the lower left of the screen)
Open Applications
Open Utilities
Look for AirPort Utility

Maybe have some sort of actual customer support instead of this virtual support group where users have to try and figure out your product.

There's a similar bug for Firefox that produces the error,
