Error -8006 when connecting to DI company - revisited

I have experienced this error several times and every time I used the workaround mentioned in numerous threads in this forum and in note 863568 at support@sap.
Few days ago I got this error in a certain server, yet deleting folder SM_OBS_DLL at %TEMP% dir just didn't solve the problem.
After 3 very frustrating days, i figured it out:
B1 DI creates this folder in the user's temp table, and when I say the user, I mean the user that the process which tryed to load the DI belongs to.
Well that's easy if you develop an application or dll, but what if you develope a windows service that uses the DI?
In that case the process runs under Local System Account, which obviously hasn't got it's own TEMP dir. So windows refers such process (and it's included DI) to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP - the machine's global temp dir.
And that's where my corrupted SM_OBS_DLL dir was !!!
I've deleted it and now it works like a charm..
And one last note to SAP's B1 SDK people - why can't you just fix this (-8006) error thing??
No, seriously - aren't tens of messages in this forum convincing enough to make this minor fix that will save so much time and embarrassment with customers?
With all due respect, it doesn't sound like a big deal to fix it. something like:
if (error=-8006)
    DeleteFolder ("SM_OBS_DLL")
I know i'm adding this code to my solution right away...

Just as an extra remark, as far as i have experienced, is that the corruption occurs after a user has cleared its temp directories.
This is done for instance with a cleaner tool like ccleaner or smth like that.
If that is done while Sap/addon is still running, some files are locked and those will not be deleted. This leaves behind an incomplete SM_OBS_DLL directory giving problems at next start of sap.
What Sap should implement is a better check whether it should (re)download the temp dll directory (check for missing files).
I reported this in a sap message at the portal, but it did not get any priority.

Not the iPad - your computer must be running iTunes 10.7 in order to sync. It has nothing to do with iTunes on the iPad.

    Hi Sunil,
In the absence of sample code it is difficult to identify the cause. If that is not possible, you can try logging SR with Oracle support.

iTunes 10.7 unknown error -1500 when connect to wireless speaker. OS X 10.75  Any thoughts?

For reasons unknown I found copies of many of these tracks as 256 kbps .m4a files in my Trash. As such I was able to remove the existing 128 kbps .m4p (Purchased) files (but not deleting them from iCloud), add the 256 kbps .m4a files to iTunes and then Add to iCloud whereupon, the original 128 kbps listings with the download from iCloud link switched to 256 kbps (Purchased) files. For a few of the files I accidentally deleted the 128 kbps (Purchased) from iCloud and when I added the .m4a to iCloud they appeared as 256 kbps (Matched) songs instead. Not sure why the difference, but it worked for several of these problematic files. But I still don't understand why/where these .m4a versions came from as most of these purchased predated iTunes Plus (e.g., my original purchases were 128 kbps). My new list of recalcitrant files is:
    Anna Nalick: Breathe (iTunes SOTW)
    Coldplay: Parachutes (tracks 4 + 5)
Dave Matthews Band: Stand Up (tracks 3-6, 11, 12)
    Feis: One Evening (iTunes SOTW)
Future Leaders…: Let Me Out (iTunes SOTW)
    Hinder: Get Stoned (iTunes SOTW)
Living Things: Ahead of the Lions (iTunes SOTW)
    Low Millions: Eleanor (iTunes SOTW)
Spymob: Sitting Around Keeping Score (iTunes SOTW)
As you can see, most of these are iTunes single of the week (SOTW) offerings, so I'm not too bothered about them.

    Hi Friends,

  • Language Init Error (8020) when connecting to the DI

    Dear All,
I've got the error message Language Init Error (8020) when connecting to the DI, I could not understand how could it be happened but I have tried to find the solution for it but still unsuccessful ? How to solve ? TIA
    Rgds,
    Edu

    Hello,
    This solution I've got from SAP Notes 854548 and I rewrite here as follows;
    1. Rename the folder SM_OBS_DLL from the temp folder. If you can't find, try to go to start --> run and type %temp%.
Then you perform these steps :
       1. Uninstall the DI from the Add/Remove Programs window
       2. Reboot the computer
       3. Install the DI API once again
If you still can't have solution and the solution from Chris can't resolve too, better to escalate to SAP support.
    Rgds,

    Hi, Yoav.
I think it's the better to start with the SAP Notes search. The first that matches your error is <a href="https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=872933&_NLANG=E">here</a>.

  • Database connector error:Unexpected when connecting to salesforce in CR2008

ISSUE:: Unable to connect to salesforce in CR2008 as when he tries to select the table in the Database expert he gets an error 'Database connector error: Unexpected' however he is able to connect to salesforce and then select the tables using CR XI R2
    Observed Behavior:
    - The customer is able to  connect to salesforce and then select the tables in CR XI R2 however when he tries to select the table through CR 2008 he gets an error 'Database connector error: Unexpected'.
    - He does not have an issue switching Windows accounts.  He can log in to Salesforce.com from Crystal Reports XIR2 and 2008 using a SFDC account with restricted access from my Windows account.  However, he is not able to log in to SFDC using the system administrator SFDC account in Crystal Reports 2008, but is able to using Crystal Reports XIR2.  This applies to the production and sandbox SFDC environment.
    - He can update data on all reports using CR2008 if the report was created in CRXIR2.  He cannot access any data from reports created with CR2008.
    Expected Behavior:
    - Should be able to select the tables and create reports based off it.
    Steps to reproduce:
    - Open Crystal Reports 2008 and then connect to salesforce with the credentials provided by the user i.e.
    test.nussbaumer @cit.com.test
    crystal2008
    token:  LxYbugxsVmGpRL1QOVIC2q0e  '
    This gives an error:
'Logon failed. Details: Unexpected Error; nested exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: www.salesforce.com
What has been done so far:
-Have tried the repair on CR 2008 but didn't help.
    - The customer has tried some user credentials for a different user in his SFDC instance and was also able to login.  He realized that only the system administrator is not able to login.  Customer had sent the sample credentials for a test system administrator profile in his sandbox environment.  (test.salesforce.com) , used that on my end to connect however it gave the error :'Logon failed. Details: Unexpected Error; nested exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: www.salesforce.com'
    test.nussbaumer @cit.com.test
    crystal2008
    token:  LxYbugxsVmGpRL1QOVIC2q0e
To access the Sandbox, he uses test.salesforce.com as the server when connecting with Cyrstal Reports 2008.
    - He reset the password and received the same error.  He can access Salesforce.com with CR XI R2, but not with CR2008.
    - He set up a new computer with only JDK 1.4 on it, using Windows XP Professional and received the same error. His comments:
( I don't believe that this has anything to do with the JDK version, but rather with the size of the metadata in SFDC.  If I login as the administrator, I receive the error in CR2008.  However, as mentioned before, if I login as a standard user I am able to use CR2008.)
We tried resetting the User Security token by follwoing the below steps(A security token is not needed for login as I am using a trusted network by SFDC):
Steps for Resetting a User Security Token:
1.) To reset your security token, click Setup | My Personal Information | Reset Security Token, and click the Reset Security Token button. The new security token is sent via email to the email address on your Salesforce user record.
2.) You will need to login by entering your username and then your password + security token (without the +).
    - Modified the CRConfig.XML file for the proxy server settings and then tried connecting to pull up the tables however still gave the same error.
    Configuration:
    Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 SP2 Build 2600
    CRXIR2 - 11.5.9.1076
    CR2008 - 12.0.0.683
    J2SE Development Kit 1.5.0.60
He is using JDK 1.6 (file: jre1.6.0_05).  He tried installing JDK 1.4 and pointing to the file:  jre1.4.2_17 but had no success.

  • I have an error message when connecting my ipad to my laptop suggesting I need 64bit version of itunes. After repeatedly downloading and reinstalling Im still getting the same message. Any suggestions please?

When connecting my ipad mini to my lap top I keep getting an error message sugesting I need to install 64bit version of Itunes. I have done this repeatedly but the same message keeps recurring. Cananyone help? Thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Error message when connecting 80GB Video iPod

I'm getting this error message when trying to connect my 80GB Video iPod:
"The iPod (name) cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-48)."
    Never seen this one before.
I haven't synced this iPod for a few weeks but it always behaved fine before, taking a few seconds to appear in iTunes (v7.5) then syncing perfectly when I hit the Sync button (I have it set to manually sync only because sometimes I want to change the contents or only sync music).
Before syncing on this occasion, I did an iPod software update via iTunes - iTunes said there was a newer version (1.2.3). After the update, I disconnected the iPod for a few minutes (somehting I wanted to check content before syncing), then reconnected it. At first iPod took about a minute to show up in iTunes - way too long. I Reset the iPod and tried again but still LONG delay to appear in iTunes (again about 1 minute). I did another Reset - same result. Then I did a complete Restore, after which syncing to restore the contents gave problems - it refused to finish the sync. I had to disconnect and start again, syncing the data one section per sync session - Contacts, music, videos, iCal - which seemed to work fine. Then I disconnected, waited a few minutes then reconnected the iPod to check. It wouldn't connect at all. Did a Reset, tried o connect again and it did connect but then proceeded to resync all my contacts taking almost 30 minutes (way too long) to do so (I had made NO changes in Address Book since that data was put in there). I tried to reconnect again but then got the error message (above). Did another total Restore and the same shenannigans happened. Now, I have an iPod with data on it and works fine, but iTunes won't recognise it - just gives this error message every time.
By the way, my 8GB Nano (software 1.1.3) seems to sync fine on the same system, same computer.
Could this be the 1.2.3 iPod software giving issues? I appreciate any help because I also use this iPod for recording for my work, which getting a little urgent now.
    Many thanks.

Thanks Zevoneer, but no real success. I did all that but when I tried to sync after it, it got partially through the sync (about 10% I'd guess) and presented an error message saying that the disk couldn't be read form or written to (sorry but I forgot the error number). I disconnected the iPod, waited a few minutes then reconnected and again got the message but then the ipod continued to finish the sync, even though almost all of the music and 2 of my 4 videos didn't go over to the iPod. I'm now thinking that this just isn't satisfactory reliability from the device since I use it a lot in my work and rely on it. But this new iPod is only a few months old, had very little use and only made about 12 recordings - In comparison, I've used the Nano heaps but now want to move over to the bigger one, basically for more capacity and bigger screen for video. I wonder if it's a hard drive failure in this iPod?
