Error (access denied) when starting Client Runtime Audit Browser

LS,
After starting the OC4J instance, I try to start the Client Runtime Audit Browser. For a brief moment I see a DOS-box, then an IE-page appears saying the following:

The following error was encountered:
Access Denied.
Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.

Any idea whether this is a local problem?
I've tried applying the settings as mentioned in the configuration guide, but the Bypass option for the proxy is impossible to set since we do not use a proxy server.
Your thoughts?

Maybe I've got the wrong idea of what is all needed to be able to run the RAB locally, but I thought that starting the OC4J instance would be sufficient to get started.
In the Installation and Configuration Guide the following is mentioned:
2.7 Step 6. Configure the Web Browser for Design and Runtime Audit Browsers
2.7.1 Add "LOCALHOST" to Your Web Browser Proxy Server Bypass List
2.7.2 Configure the Cache Management in Your Web Browser
2.7.3 Configure Warehouse Builder with a Net Service Name
As said before:
@2.7.1, we do not use a proxy (according to Internet Explorer settings) therefore I can't add 'localhost' to the bypass-list, but then again I think that it does not need to be, since there is nothing to be bypassed in the first place.
2.7.2 has been implemented.
@2.7.3, I added the net service name manually to TNSNAMES.ORA (since I also needed that to be able to get on to the database using TOAD and SQL*Plus).
We do not have 9iAS integration for RAB, nor do we have OEM integration.
Are there other things that need to be implemented? Mentioned so far have been HTTP-server and RTP services, but paragraph 2.7 does not mention anything about this. Maybe there are certain services that need to be running on the server (like HTTP and/or RTP), even though I would like to run the RAB locally?
Where does one actually need RTP for?

currently, I do not have the setup to verify this behavior. However, for me it looks like your DCOM registration is not correctly configured.
Remote OPC is going through the DCOM configuration/settings/access rights of your networked PCs. To enable access rights you should have a correct domain server that has correctly set up users. With the Start>Run>dcomcnfg you can specify the access rights for all the ActiveX/OPC servers on your computer.
Start>Run>dcomcnfg
Go to Applications tab and choose Properties of LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module
Go to Security tab and verify if all the three permission catagories are correctly set for the user who tries to remotly access/launch/configure the OPC server.i>
If you use default settings you have to make sure the default is correctly configured as well. To verify go back to Distributed COM Configuration Properties window and go to the Default Security tab.
To start of with the basic test, I would try to be logged in to the two computers with the same user account.
In addition, I recommend to read this Knowledgebase article - you might already have done that...

Creative Zen 8gb- unknown error/access denied when adding mu

This is so frustrating....please help!? I have already reformatted, disk cleanup, reset and still nothing. When I'm trying to add new music to my Creative Zen 8gb I get the both error messages : "unknown error" when using the Media Zen 'browse media' option and when using the Windows Explorer drag and drop selection "access denied". Please help I've tried almost everything and it won't copy any music not even pictures.

What operating system do you have? Win Xp (sp2) (sp3) or Vista?

. Go into the "Recovery Mode" on the Zen disconnected from the PC and clean-up & reboot.

4. Under Windows, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager then look under Portable Device then

WinPE 5 error access denied when applying .wim

I have been struggling with deploying surface pro 3s using DISM. I keep receiving an access denied error when I try to apply a windows image to a brand new surface pro 3 using the latest version of DISM. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I ran all the cleanup commands and created a new image. I then tried to apply the image and I got the same access denied error message. I looked at the DISM log and it said:

So I tried to change permissions of the Hard Disk with OS, then, one after another some windows appeared, here first of them, and a detail:
The system extension can´t be used
The system extension "/System/Library/ Extensions/ACard671xSCSI.kext" was not well instaled, the it can be used. Try to reinstal it or contact manofacturer to obtain a update.

I have the external disk in technical service, they will try to repair it. It was in MacPlus (registrered) format, configured in Raid 0 ( two hard disk enclosed together and working as one). Now, to recaptured the tapes for the project I have purchase another hard disk ( 1 T and configured it with MacPlus (registrered) format), this new hard disk is well detected by my computer.

File Error: Access Denied After Installing FCP X on FCP 7 Drive

Hi, after foolishing installing FCPX on the same har drive as FCP7 (I know against all sane advice and recommendations) I now get File error: Access Denied when trying to save work under FCP 7.
Does anyone have any advice re resolving this issue.
Would be much appreciated, I'm loathe to do a full reinstall if I can possibly avoid it

Have you run software update and repaired premissions?
Was FCPX installed before or after FCP7?
FCP7 and the other FCS3 apps should be located in a folder in Applications if you're going to have them coexist with FCPX. If you had FCS installed prior to downloading FCPX, that relocation is done automatically. But you could also do it manually.
If you haven't sen it, here is Apple's best installation practices.

When I try to render, it states "File Error:Access Denied". I am working with FCP 6.0.3 and am connected to a RAID with other FCP systems tied into it. Any ideas on what this means or how to fix it? Is it a permissions issue? If so, I don't understand how that works. Help!

Steve, I have the same problem... sometimes!
I have isolated it mostly to my audio files... I used to be able to use .mp3 just fine in FCP 5, but in 6, it seems to really have an affection for .aiff But today, I had to make sure the sample rate was the same! Ugh... so after re-sampling my music to match my other audio on the timeline (44.1) I'm all good...
Hope this helps... I also tried the permissions, etc... and had no needed repairs... and yes, my capture drive is set correctly, and the ownership is ignored, etc.

Access Denied when trying to open a file that is encrypted on network share with EFS

I just recently enabled EFS on the default domain policy and created a new network share, encrypted a file and added myself to that file and tried to open the file from my workstation. I then receive an error "Access denied", I also tried
to create a file and encrypt it on that same share and get an error "The requested operation cannot be completed. The computer must be trusted for delegation and the current user account must be configured to allow delegation."
My steps.
1. Enable group policy for EFS, removed the expired certificate that was already there and Created a new Data recovery agent.
2. Created a network share, created a test file, enabled encryption on the file
3. certmgr.msc, personal and requested a new certificate, Basic EFS
4. On the network share and properties of file, advanced, details and added the user
5. from the workstation tried to access the file, Access Denied. I can create any file I won't just can't add attributes to encrypt the file or open an encrypted file
Now if I go to the server where the CA is located which is also the AD server and create share and run the same process it works as expected. I'm guessing I have to export the cert from the CA server as a pfx and import that to both the server that
has the network share and the workstation but that still doesn't seem to work. Maybe I don't understand how EFS works and this is not possible? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are correct in not understanding how EFS works.
When you connect to an encrypted file via a network share, the encryption/decryption takes place *on* the server. To enable over the network access, the server's computer account must be trusted for delegation.
The server actually impersonates the user and creates a user profile on the server (containing the defined EFS certificate and private key). The important thing to remember is that the files is transmitted in clear text from the server to the client.

So when you put the disk in it won't run correctly? When the disk is inserted you should have a window pop up with 2 options. 1 to install and the other to see what is on the disk. Choose to explore or open the disk. Go to the CS4 folder where the photoshop .exe file is (that will run the setup), right click on the .exe file and choose run as Admin and it should start. See if it will install. If not then read below.
I am not sure how far you got in the install before so chances are you will have to run the CS4 cleanup utility. 2 levels to run at but don't use 1 or 2 just type in the number 3.

Before you try to reinstall the software ensure that adobe reader is not installed. If it is remove it. It has caused issues in the past with vista and CS4 installs.
Also turn off windows Defender and any anti-virus software. You can keep UAC on in Windows 7.
During the CS4 install at 90 percent it will almost stop and may take 5 to 10 mins to finish. This is normal. What a pain huh......
After install is finished, reboot
After reboot, go to the CS4 64 bit or 32 bit icon (depends on 32 or 64 bit Windows 7) in start area, right click on CS4 64 bit (if you have windows 7 64 bit) and choose properties, compatibility tab and then check run as Admin at the bottom area. Hit apply, ok to close out.
Now start CS4 and run the updater.

BSP Application Error : Access Denied

Hi Gurus,
I have developed a BSP application with an input field and a search help. I am using Java script to popup the search help window and "opener.document.<form>.<field>.value=value;" to pass selected value from search help window to main page. At BSP application level I have checked "Allows Portal Integration" check box. Now, when I try to select the value from search help at runtime, I am getting an error "Access Denied". It works perfectly fine when the check box "Allows Portal Integration" is unchecked. How do I resolve this issue keeping the check box checked.

The problem is that your popup windows probably do not have their domain relaxed. (Usually popp windows are implemented in an iframe, which must also be relaxed in the same way as the main page.)

Windows 7 Open and Save As dialog box gives an "Access Denied" when using common Windows Explorer features.

On many computers in our environment we have issues in Windows 7 when using the Common Dialog Box. Within the dialog box we get the error Access Denied whenever we try to create a folder. If we try to rename a file it doesn't give an error but
it doesn't work either. We cannot delete a file, still no error, but we can create shortcut.
Within Windows Explorer of the same user it has no issues.
Even if we run an application as administrator it has the same results.
Example: Open Paint (right click "Run As Administrator"); then File, "Save As", right-click in empty space; then New, Folder. This caused the error to popup "Unable to create the folder 'New folder' Access is denied."

ACCESS DENIED when trying to use custom site template to create new Subsite

I am trying to create a new site using a custom template. I am the new admin here at the company. Other also are having "access denied" errors when trying to create the site using these custom templates.
However I can still create a site using the out of the box templates. I have given myself site collection admin (primary) and I am a farm administrator as well. Any ideas on why I keep getting access denied to specific templates?
The entire site collection is using the custom template. When I try to create a new site under the site collection with a custom template now, it says "access denied". Any ideas?

Note - I am able to use the Custom Site Templates in the test environment without any issues. Only in the production/live environment am I getting the access denied error.

I am not finding anything that comes up in the ULS logs about the access denied. I tried creating the site in the test environment using the custom template and it worked. I go to the production environment and try to create the site with the same template
and get "error:access denied - current user domain\user" I checked in the ULS logs as soon as the access denied appears (pretty quickly after pressing create) and there is nothing at that specific time. This is a huge problem, is there any way to
work around or fix this? I'm a new admin.

we use SRM7.0 and SRM-MDM catalog. So far we use https and everything works fine. Now we change to https and have problems when calling the catalog. There is a JavaScript error: Access denied.
In the html sourcecode we now have this:

before there was:

We resolved the issue as follows:
Run SPRO
Go to Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server -> Master Data -> Content Management -> Define External Web Services
Select the catalogue
Double click Standard Call Structure
Add the following:
Parameter = BYPASS_OUTB_HANDLER, Value = X, Type = Fixed value
Parameter = BYPASS_INB_HANDLER, Value = X, Type = Fixed value
Click Save
The settings should take effect immediately.
