Error building from AUR (ppc)

Hi,
in my archppc I try to build unshield from AUR
I have change ARCH in PKGBUILD, but I have error:
BUILDSCRIPT non è definito! Assicurarsi di aver aggiornato /etc/makepkg.conf
I view that I have /etc/makepkg.conf.new
then I renamed ..new into makepkg.conf
but now error is:
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.
==> ERRORE: Compilazione interrotta.
can you help me ?

apple G4  7447A, altivec supported
-mtune=G4 instead of -mtune=common of course
You can also add -mabi=altivec -maltivec if you'd like. It compiles with that, but I'm not sure if it will help any since the compiler was built with --disable-multilib.
Also, you may want to file a bug report or ask on the mailing list if it's fixed. I mentioned it in IRC right after posting that but didn't get a reply.

It was caused by the upgrade of the file package.

I managed to get Hamachi installed. Go me. But I like having a frontend for things like that, so I tried to build Haguichi from the AUR. Didn't work. I downloaded the source tarball, and running ./configure returned the same error as yaourt.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables DBUS_SHARP_10_CFLAGS

See the pkg-config man page for more details.

  • Download shared source tarball once when automated building from aur

example: I want to install catalyst, catalyst-utils and lib32-catalyst-utils
    yaourt downloads ati-driver-installer-11-8-x86.x86_64.run 3 times.
Is there a tool similar to yaourt that would check the downloaded *.run file after building catalyst-utils and put it to catalyst build directory if md5sum matches?

I suppose that you'll need to set the SRCDEST variable in makepkg.conf

  • Errors installing virtualbox guest additions from AUR

After failing to get ose guest additions working in an Arch guest on Ubuntu host by (a) mounting the ISO and (b) installing from pacman, I thought that it would be an idea to use builds from AUR as these would likely to be more customised for Arch guests.
Installing ose-guest-additions-modules (the dependency for ose-guest-additions) worked flawlessly, but whenever I try and makepkg -s for ose-guest-additions I get the following error:
install: cannot stat 'vboxadd-timesync' : no such file or directory
install: cannot stat 'VBoxClient' : no such file or directory
install: cannot stat 'mountvboxsf' : no such file or directory
These directories do exist at /usr/share/virtualbox/additions/ so I am at a loss as to what is causing this to fail.
(It is worth pointing out that I am new to Arch -and relatively new to Linux- & while I am having a lot of fun trying to figure this stuff out, I am aware that I am probably missing something quite obvious...)

  • [SOLVED]yaourt wants to build dependencies from AUR

    Hi,
I've installed kdemod4... the only problem is that yaourt wants ti install all the dependences of the package(s) i've choose from aur, altough dependencies are present in extra (correct version). How can i solve this??
    An example is:
cairo-lcd: i have to build all the dependencies from aur, like libpng, etc; but i see from PKGBUILD that the version that needs cairo-lcd is present in extra repository...
    thanks in advance
Last edited by chesterfork (2009-07-13 10:07:26)

..i'm running kdemod 4 x86_64...so if i try install everything using yaourt the dependencies are shown in this way:
    ==> lib32-cairo-lcd dependencies:
    - lib32-gcc-libs (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libpng (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libxrender (building from AUR)
    - lib32-fontconfig (building from AUR)
    - lib32-pixman (building from AUR)
    - lib32-xcb-util (building from AUR)
if it could help i found this:
    chesterfork ~ $ yaourt -S lib32-cairo
    lib32-cairo not found on AUR
Packages that were installed as dependencies but are no longer required by any installed package:
    error:
what about the error? it's a blank line.... i checked yaourtrc in /etc but it seems ok..
It's happen even if i have these packages installed (and checking in pkg build they have are the same version). EVERYTIME yaourt shows that; cairo, cairo-lcd, bin32-skype-lib32-cairo-lcd....eveything i tried it needs dependencies from aur ONLY. That's the problem....there is a solution??

Is there a reason that after all of this time this is still only available in AUR, why isn't this module available in the package repository?

I guess it's because the package doesn't get enough votes.

Package is now orphan because I don't use the devices anymore, so I can't test the module.

I'm orphaning the crystalhd-git and libcrystalhd-git, because I don't have the hardware anymore.
    Comment by rhon (2013-04-03 21:12)
Updated with patches from Openelec (https://github.com/OpenELEC/OpenELEC.tv/tree/master/packages/multimedia/crystalhd/patches)
    Comment by rhon (2013-05-03 12:21)
Instead of fetching patches from github, there are now in the package.
    Comment by rhon (2013-09-26 20:36)
Package is now orphan because I don't use the devices anymore, so I can't test the module.

  • Error when building programs from AUR

I had a problem installing screen-git from the AUR.  I kept getting this error message, ./autogen.sh: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory, when trying to build this package.
At first I thought it might just be a problem with the screen-git pkgbuild, but I tried to install something else from AUR and got the same message.   I usually install things with Yaourt, so I thought it may be a problem with that.  I tried to manually install something from the AUR and got the same error. It seems to be affecting anything that needs to be built from source, so I'm wondering if it is a problem with my makepkg.conf.
I couldn't seem to find anything posted in the forums.  Any help will be appreciated.

I fixed the problem.  It was only affecting packages from a git repository. I checked and for some reason only on one of my computers, git was setup to add dos newline characters.
With a simple change to my .gitconfig file, changing autocrlf = false, fixed the problem.   Thanks for everyone's help.

No idea how to do this with yaourt but why not just:
    download the tar.gz from AUR
download and extract source with makepkg -o
    edit time.cpp to correct headers
use makepkg -e to build without overwriting the modified file
use pacman -U to install the resulting pkg.tar.gz

  • LCD Brightness, sony_acpi from aur won't build

I'm using a Sony VAIO vgn-sz430n, and the Fn keys won't work to change the brightness. I'm not so concerned about the Fn keys, for I've seen tons of documentation to get those working with xbindkeys, xmonad, openbox, etc. and I will worry about that later.
Most importantly, I cannot change the screen brightness. Xbacklight does not do anything, laptop-mode-tools and gnome/xfce4-power-manager do nothing. The screen brightness is always at the maximum.
I have an nvidia Geforce Go 7400 card with the proprietary nvidia driver
I read that I need the sony_acpi module, and I've been trying to install it from the AUR, but I get errors and I don't know what to do. I've tried with yaourt and manually. Here are the results from yaourt:

The strange thing is this works in other distributions, such as Ubuntu. If I fired up a live cd and tested out my Fn keys, the brightness would change and there would be an on screen display for feedback.
What is Ubuntu doing, specifically, that Arch is not doing? Is there any way I could load an ubuntu live cd and then find what files/programs/modules/whatever are in place that allow brightness changes? Does anyone know this offhand?
    Help!

I have Sony Vaio VGN-FZ38M with Nvidia 8400M GT. I used package 'nvclock' (it is in repo) to control lcd brightness, here site with more info: NVClock.  Some time ago I also configured Fn keys to work with it (on Ubuntu), but on Arch I didn't  manged but I didn't try hard (in general i don't need, my laptop is stationary all the time). Solution I've found somwehere in Ubuntu forums.

  • [Solved] Error installing Flash 64bit from AUR

    I tried installing the 64bit flash from here :http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=21601, using 'yaourt -S flashplugin-alpha-64 10.0.d20.7-3'
    It will say:
    Downloading 10.0.d20.7-3 PKGBUILD from AUR
Error: 10.0.d20.7-3 not found in AUR.
So i tried another method by downloading this tar file from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … .so.tar.gz
Then i untarred the file and on the desktop it shows 'libflashplayer.so'
So next i went to terminal, tried doing 'cd Desktop', followed by 'pacman -S libflashplayer.so', but it says i need to be root to do that. So i do 'su - ', and then 'cd Desktop', but it says '-bash: cd: Desktop: No such file or directory.'
How am i suppose to install flash64 bit? Thanks.

should be just "yaourt -S flashplugin-alpha-64" no version needed
the error is telling you it cant find 10.0.d20.7-3 which is not a package.  did you get another error with the first part? or did  you see it building the package?
i like building it by hand, so i usually (in a folder on my /home) i do
    mkdir flashplugin-alpha-64
    cd flashplugin-alpha-64
yaourt -G flashplugin-alpha-64 (to get pKGBUILD and other files)
    makepkg  (to build)
then install with yaourt -U [full package filename]
makes me feel like i'm in control

  • Enemylines3 from AUR doesn't build

    Hi everyone,
I tried building enemylines3 from AUR and it stops building with the following error:
hiscore.cc:4:24: fatal error: curl/types.h: No such file or directory
    compilation terminated.
The file /usr/include/curl/types.h is indeed missing on my up-to-date system. As I'm not that much into programming to fix the code with the file missing I just wrote a patch to remove the curl dependency alltogether.

Now it builds fine but of course without the hiscore functionality (which I don't need).
What should I/we do now? Of course it makes no sense to have a broken package in the AUR but on the other hand some users probably want the hiscore functionality. Is there anyone willing to write another patch to make it work again or is it even an error in the curl package (why is the file missing?).

curl/types.h is deprecated by curl devs and seems to be removed completely since curl version 7.21.7 .
using sed to replace curl/types.h with curl/curl.h seems like it's worth a try.
