Error by creating a DB connection(SQL Server) in BW

Hi All,
I am creating a SQL Server datasource in BW, the DB informaiton on sql server is:
   Server : 10.58.0.28
   DB Name: master
I have a user "dongb" created in that DB with administration authority.
What I input by creating data source in BW is:
DB Connection      MSSQL
DBMS                  MSS
User Name           dongb
DB password         ****/***
Conn. info              MSSQL_SERVER=10.58.0.28 MSSQL_DBNAME=master
while I get "Source System can not be accessed", can someone tell me what's wrong?
And another question is what should I input into "User Name" & "DB Password" if I log into SQL Server using windows authorization? thanks very much!

Error when creating a database on SQL Server 2012(Virtual Machine)

Hi,
I create a virtual machine on VMWare Workstation 10, then install Windows 7(32bit), then install SQL Server 2012 Enterprise version.
Then I write a Visual C++2008 program and using ADO to connect to the local SQL Server, with the connection string below:
“Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local);Integrated Security=SSPI;”
The connect succeed, then I try to create a new SQL Server database by calling:
m_pConnection->Execute(_T(“create database MyDatabase on primary (name = ‘MyDatabase’, filename = ‘E:\\MyDatabase.mdf’)”), NULL, 0);
where E: is a USB drive plugged in.
When running the above statement, I can even see the MyDatabase.mdf file is being created, but finally get an error and error number is 80040e31 when checking the error from m_pConnection, after analyzing the com exception, we find it reports the error as
“IDispath error #3121”. Both errors seem to indicate a “Timeout error”.
Then I try to create the database on the local drive in the virtual machine, as follows:
m_pConnection->Execute(_T(“create database MyDatabase on primary (name = ‘MyDatabase’, filename = ‘C:\\MyDatabase.mdf’)”), NULL, 0);
Then I get error number: 80040e14 from m_pConnection, and com error is “IDispath error #3092”
What is the problem?

Creating dynamic database connection (SQL server 2008) from Adf application

Hello,
I am creating an ADF Fusion Application. I use Jdev. 11.1.2.3.0 , WebLogic 10.3 and MS SQL server 2008 database. My question is that how can I create a database connection configuration file, now I connect to the database through hard coding, there should be a way to do this with sql server I think.
my database name is : testDatabase
my database username is : testUser
my database password is : testPassword
Anybody can help me please.

The database schema is the same for all the users, but the location of the database differs, for example: I have set the hostname of the database to localhost because the database is installed on the local pc, but to other clients the database is installed on a managed server so in the hostname I should put the server's ip address or name. So I need an external file where I can set these options.

I copied the default system proposal to Fields tab and sucessfully activated the DataSource.
When I try to Read Preview Data at Preview tab, I'm getting the error "RSSDK:300 Column ProjectStatus not found". As this column exists, does anyone knows what can be going wrong?
Also, when I try to upload data, the DTP runs green, but I receive the message "no data available".

I have successfully connected the UD connect SQL server.
in UD connection coming fields as TIMESTAMP , but IN BI 7.3 the same field as split the value like date and time.
i have created the data source and getting this error.

How to connect sql server at RunTime?

Hi,I have a question that when i want to use DBAdapter to connect sql server 2000 in oracle esb at RunTime.
At design Time ,it can work.but at RunTime ,it does't work.
At run time,
1)modify Oracle_Home/j2ee/home/config/application.xml
add follow elements,the path is right:

<library path="../applib/mssqlserver.jar"/>
<library path="../applib/msutil.jar"/>
2)Drop the JAR files into the following directories:
Oracle_Home/j2ee/home/applib
JAR files Include msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar,msutil.jar
But it does't work!!!
Then i use DataDirect driver:
YMbase.jar,YMutil.jar,YMsqlserver.jar
it does't work either!!!
what should i do ??

How to create a database in SQL Server Express 2014 to be used with LV Database Toolkit

I use LV Database Toolkit, which by default uses Jet database. Now I want to use SQL database with LV Database Toolkit. I have downloaded and installed "SQL Server 2014 Express with Tools" in my Labview Laptop. Now I want to create a database in SQL Server, because I think it is a requirement for creating a "udl connection file" (*.udl file). Please help me!

I made a database whose path is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA\depot1
I tried to make .udl connection file, but when I click on "test connection" with the provider: "OLEDB Provider for Microsoft SQL Server" I get the Error "UDL Connection File Failure" (attached below)
When I tried to make the .udl connection file with the provider "Microsoft SQL native Client 11.0" and when I click on "Test Connection" I get the Error" UDL Native Client_1"& " UDL Native Client_2".
Please help!

OBIEE does all of its data retrieval from the server. Your server needs to be able to query all of the data sources that you define.
The client is irrelevant here, it's just a web browser consuming data that the BI Server returns to it.
So yes you need to define connectivity from your Linux server to your SQL Server box.

I failed in creating a JDBC System(SQL Server). I am using SAP EP 7.0 SP 9. I tried to create the JDBC system with the following properties:
I am listing them Category wise:
Connection Properties:
1. Connection Timeout: 300
2. Connection URL: jdbc:sap.sqlserver://<server name> : <port name>; DatabaseName=master
3. Driver Class Name: com.sap.portals.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
4. Validate Connection: Yes
UserManagement Properties:
5. User Mapping Type: admin;user
Please help me out in making this work. And let me know if any changes to incorporated.

I have tried this thing sometime back. But when i create a JDBC system, I never give the Connection Timeout and change the Validate Connection from No to Yes. I just give the Connection URL and the Driver Class Name in the Connection Properties dropdown.
Try making these changes and check whether the user mapping is done correctly. Also check whether the Connection URL and the Driver Class Name are correct or not. Have a look at the following link:

I want to know that How can I connect SQL server Enterprise Manager Version 8.0 with Forms/reprots 6i.
currently I have oracle 9i database at server windows 2003 and I also connected with client (my PC) I work on server.
I also have SQL server in that server 2003 machine and this SQL Server also work with other clients that have VB program.
I want to know that can I connect with this SQL server with Form 6i?

You can't. The closest thing would be to create links in an oracle database to the SQL Server database using Heteregeneous Services and connect forms to the that.

Are you trying to connect to SQL Server from your Oracle database (i.e. create a database link in Oracle to SQL Server)? Or are you trying to connect to SQL Server using your Oracle client software (i.e. SQL*Plus)?
The former just requires Heterogeneous Services with Generic Connectivity. The latter is functionality that has been depricated and probably no longer works in your environment.
