Im surprised that you've got the error only in the usage and not at the import. You must check if your jre and classpath contains the jsdk, servlet dev kit configured properly.

Problem with JDK 6 update 5 - Error Message says cant find java compiler
Hi i am a complete beginner to programming and i am having trouble with the latest java development kit. jdk 6 update 5.
The problem is i have set the path and the program cant find my compiler.
I have installed the latest java development kit 6 update 5 on my windows xp machine.
I have created a simple program as shown below:
class Hello
public static void main(String[] args)
System.out.println("Hello from java");
saved the file to my desktop as Hello.java
I have set the path variable like so:
Go to control panel then click system icon then click advanced tab then click environmental variables.
Now in system variables the path is shown as this - %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\
I then add this to the end;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin
This is the location to the things like compiler, applet viewer etc.
No in the command prompt i type javac Hello.java and i get this error message:
C:\> javac Hello.java
javac: file not found: Hello.java
Usage: javac <options> <source files>
use -help for a list of possible options
The jdk is installed properly im sure but it can find my compiler.
What mistake have i made in setting the path because im guessing that is related to the problem?
Could someone out there please help me?
Thank You
Rafeeqsaved the file to my desktop as Hello.java
C:\> javac Hello.javaC:\ is not the desktop!
The jdk is installed properly im sure but it can find my compiler.Of course it can! It just can't find the file you are trying to compile, because that's not in the root directory.
I suggest you make a directory C:\java and save your source file there rather than on the desktop. In the command prompt, enter cd \java to make it the current working directory and then enter javac Hello.java.
@Pravin: The question is about compiling, not running. CLASSPATH has nothing to do with this problem.

BUILD FAILEDYshemi,
You do not have to explicitly point the server to a compiler. Its already in
the IDE classpath. Can you provide more information on the steps you
followed.
You had stated that you had created a new workshop domain. Is this the
domain in which your are creating the new application ?
You can choose the server when you create the application or by editing the
application properties.
Can you verify this ?
Can you test the built in sample to check if it works fine ?
What is the operating system that you are working on ?
Can you try by creating a new empty application, and an ejb project and let
me know the results ?

Hi Guys,
I have created a workshop domain with the configuration wizard.
I am trying to build a simple EJB - stateless session, has one method
that returns a string.
when I try to build I get the following :
"ERROR: ERROR: Error from ejbc: Compiler failed executable.exec
ERROR: ERROR: ejbc couldn't invoke compiler
BUILD FAILED
ERROR: ERROR: Error from ejbc: Compiler failed executable.exec
ERROR: ERROR: ejbc couldn't invoke compiler
Application Build had errors."
It seems like Workshop can't find the compiler.
I added "c:\bea81\jdk141_03\bin" to the application properties under
"server classpath additions" and still get the same error.
Does anyone know how I can point workshop to the compiler ?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm running 12.1.3 in virtualbox and the OAF toolbox tutorials work after logging onto EBS.
After installing jdeveloper (on windows 8) and doing the documented setup, even the "Hello World" test fails when run in jdeveloper.
I've double checked the setup and that the jdeveloper patch version is right (p9879989_R12_GENERIC)
and have the "Default Local IP address" checkbox selected as well.
I guess some windows install/config is incorrect,but don't know what. Any ideas?
Thanks.

HELP Needed with this error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClass
Folks,
I am having a problem connecting to my MSDE SQL 2000 DB on a WindowsXP pro. environment. I am learning Java and writing a small test prgm to connect the the database. The code compiles ok, but when I try to execute it i keep getting this error:
"Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Test1"
I am using the Microsoft jdbc driver and my CLASSPATH is setup correctly, I've also noticed that several people have complained about this error, but have not seen any solutions....can someone help ?
Here is the one of the test programs that I am using:
import java.sql.*;
* Microsoft SQL Server JDBC test program
public class Test1 {
public Test1() throws Exception {
// Get connection
DriverManager.registerDriver(new
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver());
Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://LAPTOP01:1433","sa","sqladmin");
if (connection != null) {
System.out.println();
System.out.println("Successfully connected");
System.out.println();
// Meta data
DatabaseMetaData meta = connection.getMetaData();
System.out.println("\nDriver Information");
System.out.println("Driver Name: "
+ meta.getDriverName());
System.out.println("Driver Version: "
+ meta.getDriverVersion());
System.out.println("\nDatabase Information ");
System.out.println("Database Name: "
+ meta.getDatabaseProductName());
System.out.println("Database Version: "+
meta.getDatabaseProductVersion());
} // Test
public static void main (String args[]) throws Exception {
Test1 test = new Test1();I want to say that there was nothing wrong
with my classpath config., I am still not sure why
that didn't work, there is what I did to resolved
this issue.You can say that all you like but if you are getting NoClassDefFound errors, that's because the class associated with the error is not in your classpath.
(For future reference: you will find it easier to solve problems if you assume that the problem is your fault, instead of trying to blame something else. It almost always is your fault -- at least that's been my experience.)
1. I had to set my DB connection protocol to TCP/IP
(this was not the default), this was done by running
the
file "svrnetcn.exe" and then in the SQL Server Network
Utility window, enable TCP/IP and set the port to
1433.Irrelevant to the classpath problem.
2. I then copied all three of the Microsoft JDBC
driver files to the ..\jre\lib\ext dir of my jdk
installed dir.The classpath always includes all jar files in this directory. That's why doing that fixed your problem. My bet is that you didn't have the jar file containing the driver in your classpath before, you just had the directory containing that jar file.
3. Updated my OS path to located these files
and....BINGO! (that simple)Unnecessary for solving classpath problems.
4. Took a crash course on JDBC & basic Java and now I
have created my database, all tables, scripts,
stored procedures and can read/write and do all kinds
of neat stuff.All's well that ends well. After a few months you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. -
An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment
Hi there,
I am trying to run my application in java and suddenly java started giving me the bellow error:
# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:

# If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:

I do not believe that this is a problem in my code as this was working before.
Also the system works fine for about 20 iterations of the same code and then displays this error
I also try to uninstall and reinstall java but with no luck.
I am also attaching the log file that java has saved some information.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi there,
I am trying to run my application in java and suddenly java started giving me the bellow error:
# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6d81bd10, pid=1500, tid=3624
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (10.0-b22 mixed mode windows-x86)
# Problematic frame:

# An error report file with more information is saved as:

# If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:
# http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp
I do not believe that this is a problem in my code as this was working before.
Also the system works fine for about 20 iterations of the same code and then displays this error
I also try to uninstall and reinstall java but with no luck.
I am also attaching the log file that java has saved some information.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

I hope we can fix this prooblem.
I think i haven't said my motherboard. Its P5E3 PRO. It has EPU engine and it turns off the hard drive when its idle...Premiere pro and all the sytem files are installed on my C drive which is like the main drive. On D drive i keep my music, downloads and stuff. I think it can turn of both drives then idle, but mostly it turns off D drive, I think. I have a new motherboard and i haven't got the hang of it how it shuts them down.
But i think this really isnt a problem.
Thanks in advance.Serious hardware problems!
Go for a fresh install of OS & programs, but be prepared to first check your disks with a utility from the drive manufacturer (WD and Samsung). You may need new disks.
Great to include these details, but for readability I suggest you include these as an attachment instead of in the text. It may scare people off reading all that detail. -

Hi,
I was able to deploy EJB using JDeveloper 3.1 in the Oracle 8i (1.1.6) DB.However, when I try it manually, it is giving errors.
I was able to use deployejb tool succesfully with Oracle 8.1.5 DB.Is there some problem with Oracle 8.1.6 DB?
This is output, I am getting :

Unable to compile the JAXB generated java files
Hi
I am using JAXB 2.0 API for binding process.
I have products.xml file as

<QUANTITY>3</QUANTITY>
</PRODUCT>
</PRODUCTDATA>
and products.xsd(Schema file) as
<xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

I want all three files to compiled successfully.If it is compiled only then I will continue on Unmarshalling processI suspect you are trying to compile the files one by one. You may also be trying to compile them disregarding the package structure.
From your post, I gather these files are in the package: com.geindustrial.sqms
Therefore, if they are not so already, put them under a directory structure:
com/geindustrial/sqms
and then compile with:
javac com/geindustrial/sqms/AddCtq.java com/geindustrial/sqms/Ctq.java com/geindustrial/sqms/VariableData.java
(The above is all on one line.)

Oracle EBS R12 - how to compile jsp and keep .java file
Hello.
When I compile the jsp file, it will create the _pagename.class file into $COMMON_TOP/_pages directory. Some of the time it also keep _pagename.java file in there.
How can force the compiler to keep the java file always. I am using following command which creates _pagename.class file.
perl $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl --compile -s 'ptcResponse.jsp' --flush
It keeps the _pagename.java file some of the times and not other, example if the compilation fails then java files stored there otherwise only class.
There has to be some way/location to see/keep the _pagename.java file, we need them for troubleshooting runtime error.It keeps the _pagename.java file some of the times and not other, example if the compilation fails then java files stored there otherwise only class.
This is an expected behaviour.
There has to be some way/location to see/keep the _pagename.java file, we need them for troubleshooting runtime error.
The "perl ojspCompile.pl" command doesn't offer this -- Issue "perl ojspCompile.pl" and you will see what options are available.
Your option is to keep/save the java files in a different directory.

Error compiling single ejb using appc/ejbc (long)
This may be related to my earlier post ("no longer able to build ejb
using appc (WLS 8.1)", posted this morning), but the error and the way I
encountered it were different enough that I thought I'd post as a new
topic. I've been trying to build a project using weblogic 8.1, but I've
been running into some problems.
As a test, I tried compiling a single ejb from the command line using
the new appc compiler. I compiled the source files and moved them to a
clean build directory, along with the deployment descriptors. From the
command line, I set the system classpath to the bare minimum necessary
to build the ejb-- the jdk tools.jar, the jre rt.jar, the weblogic.jar
file, the project bin directory, the log4j.jar, and my database driver
jar (see [1] and the echoed resulting classpath at [2] below). I then
invoked appc, specifying the output and source paths ([3]). The
resulting error ([4]) shows a much larger classpath, which abruptly ends
with a "?". I ran the same test using ejbc instead of appc, and I get
the very same problem (same error message). I've never encountered
problems like these before, and other than upgrading to weblogic 8.1, my
system configuration hasn't changed. Any ideas or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated!
