Error connecting to IONA ORB within an EJB
Hi,
I am trying to connect to a remote CORBA server(C++) through my ejb running on PE8.2, but when I init the IONA ORB in the ejb, I get the follwing exception:
Caused by: org.omg.CORBA.INITIALIZE: Exception reading properties, probably this is an applet but no applet parameter supplied to ORB.init vmcid: 0x0 minor code: 0 completed: No

at IE.Iona.OrbixWeb.CORBA.ORB._initialise(ORB.java:1545)
at IE.Iona.OrbixWeb.CORBA.ORB.init(ORB.java:1505)
Here is the ORB invocation from my ejb:
public void initOrb(String p_hostName, String p_serverName) {
String[] args = {p_hostName, p_serverName};
Properties p = new Properties();
p.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass","IE.Iona.OrbixWeb.CORBA.ORB");
p.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass", "IE.Iona.OrbixWeb.CORBA.singletonORB");
// Initialize the ORB
ORB orb = (ORB)ORB.init(args,p);
}All the required libs are included in the appserver lib.
I have tried this with JBOSS and it works fine.
Do I need to replace the SunAS ORB libraries with the IONA ORB that I need to use?
Has anyone seen this before?
Hi, Rick
Thanks for your help.
I deleted de application-client.xml file, added the following lines to the web.xml file:
<ejb-ref>
<ejb-ref-name>ejb/SessionEJB</ejb-ref-name>
<ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
<remote>ar.com.eds.ejb3.model.SessionEJB</remote>
</ejb-ref>
and now I´m using oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
there is no error, and it doesn´t throw any exception but the following line returns null.
SessionEJB sessionEJB = (SessionEJB)context.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/SessionEJB");
Its seems the lookup method finds the remote ejb because it doesn´t fail, but it returns null.
Any idea what is wrong?
Mauricio.

How do I disable "this connection is untrusted" I visit the same web site mutiple times in a day and every visit I get this same dam error, these are trusted sites within my work environment. This is getting really old, and I am thinking that I should just uninstall, which is a pity becuase I do like firefox
Okay, before you copy 'n paste canned responses, you should read the post first.
'''The date & time on my computer is correct''' I've already checked this.
'''I don't give a damn why the site is untrusted''', I probably know why in fact (behind corporate proxy server).
As for exporting a known good certificate from another browser, sure good idea, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried exporting from IE, Firefox did the import without complaint, but it still complains. At any rate, I don't care about that. '''I just want to permanent disable it for ALL SITES for ALL TIME'''. Is that too much to ask for?
Judging by the number of posts on this topic, apparently I am not the only one complaining about this. -

Error connecting to a table in a database
I am trying to insert user login script and have an error.
Can anyone tell me why Dreamweaver MX 2004 cannot connect to
the tables in my databases? I am using MS Access 2002 and there are
tables in the databses.
I can supply a jpeg of the error if neededHello,
Are you using Windows XP SP2?
If so, it's a known issue.
Here's the fix:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19515&sliceId=2
Click on "connectivity fails with local ASP.NET and ASP
servers..."
There's a link to download the extension fix in "Workaround"
ASP: When using a local ASP test server running on XP SP2
with Dreamweaver
(i.e. the Testing Server URL prefix is set to "
http://localhost"), and you
specify "Using driver on testing server" or "Using DSN on
testing server,"
database connectivity fails. If you click the Test button in
the Custom
Connection String or Data Source Name (DSN) dialog box, it
says the
connection was made successfully. However, if you then try to
browse the
tables in the Databases panel or create a recordset, the
database tables do
not display or you get the following error message: "Unable
to retrieve
tables from this connection, click on the 'Define...' button
to test this
connection."
Workaround: Download and install the Dreamweaver extension
fix by Macromedia
that resolves this issue (Ref. 179021). To use this
extension, follow the
steps below. The steps below apply to both ASP.NET and ASP
sites:
1.. In Dreamweaver, go to the Files panel and choose one of
your ASP.NET
site definitions.
2.. Select Site > Advanced > Remove Connection
Scripts.
Note: If this option is grayed out, open an ASP.NET page in
Dreamweaver.
Removing the connection scripts will delete the contents of
the
_mmServerScripts folder, which is located in the testing
server folder. The
_mmServerScripts folder is hidden in Dreamweaver's Files
panel, but will be
visible if viewed with a different file browser. The
_mmServerScripts folder
consists of these three files: adojavas.inc, MMHTTPDB.asp and
MMHTTPDB.js.
The connection scripts are used by Dreamweaver to perform
remote database
connectivity when developing pages within Dreamweaver. These
script files
have no affect on your web pages during run-time (i.e. when a
visitor views
your ASP.NET pages via a web browser).
3.. Repeat steps 1-2 for each of your ASP.NET site
definitions.
4.. Quit Dreamweaver.
5.. Install the extension.
6.. Restart Dreamweaver.
7.. Go into the Files panel, select one of your ASP.NET
sites, and open an
.aspx file.
8.. Go into the Databases panel and delete your existing
database
connections. Before deleting them, make sure to open up each
connection and
write down the settings. You can open a connection by either
double-clicking
the connection name, or right-clicking the connection name
and selecting
Edit.
9.. Create a new database connection. Use the same
connection names you
had before, so any existing pages with DataSets and Server
Behaviors still
work correctly.
10.. Click the Test button in the database connection dialog
box. This
will upload the new connection scripts to the testing server.
11.. Repeat steps 7-10 for each of your Dreamweaver ASP.NET
site
definitions.
Note: This extension is compatible with Dreamweaver MX 2004
and Dreamweaver
MX. The current version of the extension is 1.0.2. Version
1.0.1 resolved a
database connectivity problem with the ASP VBScript server
model. Version
1.0.2 includes the fixes in version 1.0.1 and also resolves
compatibility
issues with Dreamweaver MX (version 6). You can see which
version of the
extension you have by opening the Extension Manager.

Get URL from within a Ejb-Container
Hi all,
I try to realize a WD-Application with Hibernate ORM. Now it seems , that from within the Ejb the hibnerate.cfg.xml couldn't be found.
No I try to read the URL from hibernate.cfg.xml. There I did some test with the getResource()-Function. At least I managed to get a URL from a zip-archive, but I'm not able to found the URL from something inside the archive, <b>and my configuration is in an archive!!!</b>
See the following tests:
URL myurl11 = cl.getClass().getResource("/"); //works
URL myurl12 = cl.getResource("/"); //works not! (without getClass())
URL myurl2 = cl.getClass().getResource("/version.txt"); //works
URL myurl3 = cl.getClass().getResource("version.txt");//works not (relativ)
URL myurl4 = cl.getClass().getResource("/apps/sap.com/dc~oracle~ear/src/java/src.zip");//works
URL myurl5 = cl.getClass().getResource("/apps/sap.com/dc/oracle/ear/src/java/src.zip");//works not
URL myurl6 = cl.getClass().getResource("/apps/sap.com/dc~oracle~ear/src/java/src.zip/de/pa/ejb/systeme/SystemeDao.java");//works not
URL myurl7 = cl.getClass().getResource("/apps/sap.com/dc~oracle~ear/src/java/src.zip/de.pa.ejb.systeme/SystemeDao.java");//works not
URL myurl8 = cl.getClass().getResource("/apps/sap.com/dc~oracle~ear/src/java/src.zip/de.pa.ejb.systeme.SystemeDao.java");//works not
As you can see with "myurl14" it works for a zip-file but not futher. How can I get Into an archive? Or even adress things relative?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks
RichardHi Joe,
Thanks a lot for ur reply,
But the LD_LIBRARY PATH is set to the user that runs the App Server, Since it is throwing a UnsatisfiedLinkError, there must be a problem with the link only(i.e calling native method).
The flow of data is as follows
1 A method from ejb calls another java method in an other java class which is in the same jar file,passing the actual arguments.
2 That java method calls the Native methos residing in the same class file
3 The Native mentod calls a c function as usual
My ejb is working fine up to the Native Method call, at this point it is throwing an error
All my java files are in a package, and my .h file contains package name in the prototype of c function
If you get any ideas please mail me ASAP

Wifi problem with repeaters - there was an error connecting
so I'm repeating a motorola gateway's wifi signal with a belkin f5d7132..
with the repeater on .. opperating. and doing its range extending magic, my pc can connect to the network, but my mac throws up an "error connecting to network" message.. "trying again" gets me nowhere.
unplugging the repeater fixes the mac up nicely... it's able to connect directly to the motorola gateway..
when I look at all the wifi connections. it show two instances of the "repeated" signal... two "ian" ssids.. I wonder if this duplicity is messing things up for me and my macbooks attempt at connecting to the repeated wifi.. I linked to a couple screen captures of my motorola and belkin config pages..
the one thing that surprises me, is that the belikin router doesn't have an "entry" in the motorola DHCP list.. I'd think the belkin repeater would have to lease an IP address from the motorola, and that lease would be noted in the motorola's dhcp table.. I'm sure there are different schems for repeating..
anybody successed with this belkin in a mac / pc cross platform environment? any magic settings that I'm missing?
here are links to those two screen captures

repeater - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/135/395096541cbe4473870o.jpgOk. Got it fixed.
For a real fix:
Try trashing the ~/Library/Application Support/Apple/AirPort folder. This should solve the problem this time and next time.
If you are reluctant to do that, log into your 'test' account. (You do have a test account, don't you?)
Do the update from there.
Apparently we have something corrupted in our support directories for the AirPort device.
I first fixed my problem by doing the alternate log in method and found that all 3 of my devices were needing a firmware update but only the Capsule was reporting an update within my own account. -
There was an error connecting to the update server.

Error connecting to Client Sys. DB
Hi
i am trying to create Datasource in my my localhost for the

This may help:
• Install SQL2000 SP3 ( or latest patch)
• Create an ODBC DSN within the Microsoft ODBC Manager
to make certain the connections are working at this level.
• Create a new SQL2000 user with administrative
permissions, go to the user/admin properties and allow permissions
at all levels for the applicable database (not all dbs).
• Create the JDBC DSN in Coldfusion, use the server
name that is listed in the Enterprise Manager. -

Error connecting to the SAP SRV on Windows 2008 Server platform
Hi All
We have a problem with one of our clients they bought a new sbs windows server 2008 and we loaded sql 2005 and sap b1 SP01 PL07.
When we did the SBO install we experience connection issues and we created odbc connection on the server using named pipes and tcp/ip (used both server name and Ip address).
We also configured the server in configuration manager and we managed to login and solved the slow system connection issue. We also created odbc connection on the client machines. (Machine are on a workgroup and users have administration access on all machines),we also installed native client on all machines.
After the first batch of client installs we managed to have connection, they were other computers which were left out during the first client install and now the client want to do the remaining machines connected to SBO. On every machine that we install now we get the same error :-

rgds,
Bongani DlaminiHi Eric,
yes we are using Windows 2008 SBS for the SAP EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0/NW7.01 installation.
we tried to create the key but it says access is denied.
Actual thing is we got the server with Windows 2008 server 64 bit SBS (standard FE) with Domain Controller (DC) configuration.
We have removed the DC using dcpromo to convert into Wokgroup and tried the SAP installation.
I hope you got the idea and please let me know any further suggestions or it is the problem with the license.

I have been getting this above error on my mail server from last
4-5 days. I am getting complaints from end users that the users can't
send any mails using Outlook but I did check with my test user I can
send mail by using webmail.
The Failed MX lookup Errors also getting in my logs the error detail given bellow.

I tried stopping and starting msg service using stop-msg and start-msg to sort out this above problem but no result. :(
When I do check the tcp_local queue it has been growing every day as well the tcp_notification queue also.

This queues are increasing day by day.
One more thing is that I cant see a service/channel called CONVERSION running on my server when i do use this command.
ps -aef | grep conversion
root 6144 6000 0 11:14:28 pts/1 0:00 grep conversion
When i try to start it using imsimta qm utility, output shows as
qm.maint>; start conversion
QM-I-STARTED, channel was not stopped
qm.maint>;
Later I stopped and started conversion channel
qm.maint>; stop conversion
QM-I-STOPPED, channel stopped
qm.maint>; start conversion
QM-I-STARTED, channel started
qm.maint>;
I can see that on other servers the conversion channel is running and few msges are in queue. I do have other servers which running the same messaging server. But I am not getting why don't on this server. Where both servers having the same configuration.
Please, help me to sort out this issue.
Thanks in advance....
