Error creating WEBI document in InfoView

Hey all,
I'm hoping there's someone out there that can help me with the issue I'm currently experiencing when trying to create a new WEBI document from within InfoView.
Environment: Windows Server 2003 SP2, BOE XIR3.1SP3, CR2008, MS SQL Server 2005
Using the Designer I've created as simple a universe as I believe you can... ODBC connection to DB, one table, and no modifications to object properties (ie. field names, descriptions, etc.).  I saved the Universe in the Enterprise repository (have also tried saving to local disk) and exported the Universe.
In the CMC I granted schedule rights to the Universe for UserA.
When I logon to InfoView as UserA I am able to select the New | Web Intelligence menu option on the Document List screen and am presented with the Universe selection screen.  I select the universe created in the designer and the system attempts to create a new WEBI document.  It gets to the point where it is launching new document and I received the error below...
An internal error occured while calling 'createDocument' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)
The preferences for WEBI in InfoView are:  View Format - Web;  Creation/Edit Tool - Advanced.
Now for a couple of twists...
1) When I first created a single table universe after the issue first appeared on a more complex universe, I was able to create new WEBI documents without issue.  When I tried adding an additional table to the simple universe I experienced the issue above and have been unsuccessful ever since even with new single table universes.
2) If I logon to InfoView as an administrator (or make UserA an administrator) I can create new WEBI documents with no problems on any of my universes (simple or complex).
I have read other posts related to this error and have tried the suggestions that have been put forth to no avail.  It appears to be an issue with security settings but I have been unsuccessful in identifying what those settings might be.  If anyone has any suggestions or can provide a breakdown of the security settings required to give users the necessary access to create WEBI documents from universes I would be grateful.
As a side point, I have implemented complex universes at other clients without this issue appearing at other sites.
Thanks!

Hi,
May be you can try with full control rights on universe and connection. After that check yor are getting error or not.this issue with one user or with all users except administrator.
Thanks,
Amit

  • Cannot Create Webi document in Infoview

    Hi Guru,
Here is my scenario, I logged in as Administrator in the Infoview and planned create webi document on the available exported universe. I didn't find any option over there not only for webi even for the Deski, Crystal etc..
By searching some thread, Again tired by applying the security right as follows
    BOE ( CMC ) >> Applications >> Webi >> Right Click " Check User Rights " >> Select User/group >> rights have been Inherited/ Explicitly >> create New Document.
One more thing just found in Infoview preferences, I didn't found options for Webi where I can find for Deski,Crystal, Voyager, Password Changes etc.....
Finally, I tried logging into Webi Rich client >> Error shows  " License not valid  " >>> Do we need to have a separate license for Webi ....
    Please help me out

    Hi
I just followed this steps... but does not helped on this...
Logon to Central Management Console (CMC) using Enterprise Administrator account.
    Click on 'Folders' under Organize.
Select Manage >> Top_Level Security >> All Folders.
If a Windows prompt occurs showing 'You have chosen to set Security for the Top-Level Folder', click on Ok.
    Click on 'Add Principals'.
Select the User / Group from 'Available users/groups' who is to unable to create the Web Intelligence document and move it under 'Selected  users/groups'.
Click on 'Add and Assign Security' button.
Uncheck the option to Inherit rights from Parent Folder and Parent Group.
Click on 'Advanced' tab and then click on Add/Remove Rights.
Grant the General Rights to the User / Group as per the requirement.
Expand 'Content' option on the left pane.
Select 'Web Intelligence Report' and grant the following rights:
12.1   Download files associated with the object
        12.2   Edit Query
        12.3   Export the report's data
        12.4   Refresh List of Values
        12.5   Refresh the report's data
General rights related to the Web Intelligence can also be overridden here.
Click on Apply and then OK.
Click on Apply and then OK on 'Assign Security' and close the User Security for Root Folder.
Navigate to CMC Home >> Universes.
Depending on the requirement, rights can be provided at the Universe level or Folder level.
Repeat Step 5 through Step 10 to add and assign general security for the User(s) / Group(s).
If the security is provided for Folder(s), under Add / Remove rights, Folder rights can be selected from the 'General Rights for Folder' menu.
If the Security is provided for the Universe(s), under Add / Remove rights, following optional rights can be selected:
20.1   Create and Edit Queries Based on Universe
        20.2   Data Access
        20.3   Edit Access Restrictions
        20.4   New List of Values
        20.5   Print Universe
Click on Apply and then OK.
Click on Apply and then OK on 'Assign Security' and close the 'User Security for the Root Folder'.
Navigate to CMC Home >> Connections.
Depending on the requirement, rights can either be assigned as the 'Top Level  Security' for 'All connections' or providing 'User Security' for the specific connection.
Repeat Step 5 through Step 10 to add and assign General Security for the User(s) / Group(s).
Under 'Connection' option within 'System' on the left pane, following optional rights can be granted:
        25.1  Data Access
25.2  Use connection for Stored Procedures
Click on Apply and then OK.
Click Apply and then OK on 'Assign Security' and then close the 'User Security' for the connection.
If the user still fails to create a Web Intelligence Report, navigate to CMC Home >> Applications >> Web Intelligence.
Under 'User Security', 'Add Principal(s) and select 'Assign Security'.
Remove Inheritance from Parent Folder and Parent Group.
Click on Advanced and click on 'Add/Remove Rights'.
Provide the General Rights as per the requirement.
Expand 'Application' on left pane and assign security to the User / Group as required.
Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.
Click on Apply and then OK on the 'Assign Security' and then close the 'User Security' for the Web Intelligence application.
Logon to Infoview and create a new Web Intelligence report.

  • Error creating web service from WSDL in 11.1.2.0.0

    Hello,
I have just installed JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0. I tried to test a web service created (and successfully tested) in 11.1.1.5.0. The service is deployed to internal WebLogic server but when I call "Test Web Service" this is the error I get:

    Hi Vishal,
no, I don't see any HTTPS security settings defined. The thing is that this worked just fine in 11.1.1.5.0 version. I installed 11.1.2.0.0 and the first thing I tried was testing this web service. Right away I get this error. I also tried creating Web Service Client Proxy for this web service and I get the same exception. I looks to me that this happens when wizard tries parsing WSDL...
But, I got another error when I opened "Java Web Service Editor" for this web service and selected "Methods":

..still reading it. though the post is dated back in 2008, I wonder why this functionality wasn't added to Apex.

  • Error creating accounting document for a credit note

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue while creating an accounting document for the credit note created.
    The scenario is as follows:
Created a credit memo --> created credit note --> create accounting document
While creating accounting document, i'm getting an error message as 'The G/L account XXXXXXXX requires an assignement to CO object'.
Please let me know why i'm getting this error and how to overcome this issue.
    Thanks,
    Anil Kumar

    While creating accounting document,
      i'm getting an error message
First of all, I am not clear on your above statement as in normal circumstances, once you generate a credit memo, in bacground an accounting document will also be generated.
In your case, I believe while saving the credit memo, system throws the error to maintain CO object in which case, do the following:-
Go to TCode KA02 enter the controlling area, give the G/L acoount No and click on Master data tab.  There  select  "Default Acc Assgmnt" tab  and enter Cost centr and save.
Next Go to FS00, input the G/L Account and click on Edit Cost Element on top.  There click on Basic Data and for the field CElem category, maintain the required numeric value.  Now select the tab Default Acct Assgnmt and there maintain the required cost center and save.
    thanks

  • BI Launch pad - error opening WebI documents

    Hello,
We have newly installed BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 with Client tools.
When we are trying to open WebI documents from BI Launch Pad we are getting the following error message.
    (Error: RWI 00200) (Error: INF)
Does anyone have any idea what does this mean?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Mark,
Did you ever find the solution?  By the way, you should not concern yourself with the AIX system.  You should be able to connect with client tools from your local windows PC usng the corresponding DB 32 bit drivers.
I am having the same problem only with webi.  Crystal reports work.  Issue was not present on BO4-SP2, but getting this issue on BO4-SP4.  BO4-SP4 webi worked with other clients; but not on this particular install.
In the past, the issue was fixed by performing a re-install, since there are so many variables that I have seen on this issue.  In this case, I've ran out of options that I know to fix the issue.  It would be helpful to circumvent a new install.

The fault definition in the .wsdl obtained from the process when you access it over http is somewhat different:
    <fault>
    <soap:fault name="TestError" use="literal" encodingStyle="" />
    </fault>
Any ideas how to workaround this problem?

    Hi Susan,
The WSDL generated by BPEL designer is :

    Thanks & Regards
    Poomani Sankaran

    Hi Poomani,
    Upgrade to
SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition and it will work with SharePoint Foundation 2010. Ensure that you only use this developer edition on your development server.
SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition has same code base and same features which are available in SQL Server
2008 R2 Enterprise Edition. Only difference between them is licensing terms. Developer Edition can not be used in production environment and it can be used on development server only.

  • ERROR Creating Web Form with "Create Sales Opportunity" checked

When I create a new web form and choose to "Create Sales Opportunity" I get an error upon saving:
"- Probability (%) must be a number and may contain a decimal point.

Never mind, I see the problem. Mac OS X's scroll bars don't show up by default any more. Didn't see the extra fields to fill out.

  • Error Creating Web service CFMX Admin

I have tried pretty much everything and can't get this to
work. I need to register a web service and it doesn't like the url.
The file exists, I tried the all lower case thing, applied all the
hot fixes. At a loss. It seemed to have happened after I installed
the certificate for IIS. Any help would be much appreciated.

Forget about registring the webservice to start. Start by
creating a simple test template that runs the code below. What
errors show from the template if any? Debug from there or comeback
    with the errors.

  • HELP! Random errors creating SAP documents via Add-On.

    Hi,
We have a very odd situation.  Our add-on has been running for 4 years.  During this time, we've made several enhancements.  In the last couple of weeks, users are getting random errors during the code that posts SAP documents.  The error doesn't occur creating the same documents everytime but the error message is always the same.  I cannot get the add-on to crash in the development environment.  Furthermore, once a crash occurs, the users can immediately try again and the document will then be created successfully so it's baffling.  We thought we'd tracked it down to the fact that when restarting a users Windows session, we were retaining the user profile files that SAP creates to store the SQL Server settings.  We found that the problem went away once we started deleting these files upon logout, but, the problem just got less frequent, it didn't completely go away.  Here is the error information:
Error: The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))
    Source: Interop.SAPbobsCOM
    Stack Trace:    at SAPbobsCOM.FieldClass.set_Value(Object pVal)
I should say we've also uninstalled and reinstalled the DI API but that didn't help either.  We are running SAP 2007A SP01 P05 with users logging into Windows Server 2003 via Citrix.  Also note, this error is only occuring with documents being created through the add-on, no crashes occur creating documents direclty through SAP front end.
    Thanks very much,
    David

    Hello David.
I have the exatly the same situation at Customer, only in 2007A version.
The Addon has been developed for 6.5 and was running perfect in last 4 years. After upgrade,  the users got the random messages. and the user try it again can sucessfully post the documents. Only at this company.
There is no citrix, and virtual server, onyl W2003 (32bit:) behind a firewall. (MS SQL 2005 SP2)
In my sample, and your error message is the common: YOu got the message when you are using User Defined Field in marketing documents.
I have found a note about change "coding" of update of User Defined Fields, it was not helped.
    Note number: 1235603
    Major change:
    +
This issue results from using the following code:
    SAPbobsCOM.Field f = oPOrders.Lines.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_test")
Instead of the above syntax, you should use the following:
    SAPbobsCOM.ProductionOrders_Lines f1 = oPOrders.Lines
    SAPbobsCOM.Field  f =  f1.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_test")
Using the suggested syntax lets you perform the operation correctly. The issue does not happen with a regular connection.
    +
In Small DB-s i was unbale to reproduce this issue, but in that specific customer (>40GB) i always trouble with this.
    My experience,
    - that i have created some custom indexes over marketing documents, and the error message was not appears in frequently.
    - changed 32 SQL Server Memory Allocation to EWA, the error message was not appears in frequently.
I think this is an SQL server issue.
I am intrested in the solution, SAP Support Center was unable to find any solution for this issue.

The JDeveloper version i'm using is 10.1.3.0.4.
Does anybody knows how to fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    Nuno

Yes, i have created a fault on one of the operations, however in the .wsdl file it does have a name attribute.
    <operation name="process">
    <fault name="TestError" message="client:TestErrorMessage"/>
    </operation>
The fault definition in the .wsdl obtained from the process when you access it over http is somewhat different:
    <fault>
    <soap:fault name="TestError" use="literal" encodingStyle="" />
    </fault>

  • Calling up a Performance Manger SPC Chart from a WebI document

    Post Author: satwar

Please forgive my terminology, as I'm only a superuser of B.O. not a computer trained person.I have put a few years into configuring WebI document reports in InfoView of B.O. XI 2.  Our company is getting into SPC in a big way, hence my attention has turned to Performance Manager.  I was disappointed to learn that I have to create a whole new Universe of objects in Performance Manager in order to conduct SPC analysis on the variables I have been reporting in tables & graphs in WebI documents in InfoView.I can learn to accept that aspect of B.O. but I am a little concerned about my users having to navigate through Performance Manager to view SPC analytics.  My users have put up considerable resistance just navigating to WebI documents in InfoView.Hope seemed to be around the corner when I read about calling up Performance Manager analytics from WebI documents.  Having read the details it seems like these WebI documents are created in the Performance Manager Universe, not in the Infoview WebI documents that I have already developed in InfoView. If anyone can explain and clarify how this feature works, I'd be eternally grateful.

You can Link any documents that are stored as objects in the cmc, regardless of the universe or way in which they were created.openAnalytic.jsp will allow you to open pretty much anything much as does openDocument  int the webi world.Once you create the SPC chart in process analysis youll need to view it in the control chart screen then click save as and save it into one of you folders in the corp repository. When this is done you can quickly get an example of the URI syntax by going to create new document in dashboard manger, selecting interactive metric trends, expanding navigation and legend opions, clicking browse, selecting your newly saved analytic and clicking ok.  This will but a url into the text box which you can copy and paste into your webi doc links - here's an example of the kind of thing... openAnalytic.jsp?DocumentName=MySPCanalytictest&RepositoryType=C&RepositoryName=SPCTest&DocumentExt=afd&DocumentId=AadTAN28x6lMpTxxlAhW09s&mode=full You may need to stick the odd ../../ or /jsp/ etc in front of the url depecing where you plan to call it from of course. You'll find descriptions of parameters etc for openAnalytic in the product docs. cheers, jez.

    Hi,
i am trying to create billing document from the created sales document.
But the billing document is not generated. I was getting  the error - ' Document is blocked from billing'.
