Error during connection to https web-service via proxy-server

Hello!
I have created Web Service Proxy using wizard in JDeveloper. Then added some code for authorization on my corporate proxy server.
Then I was trying to connect to two different web services
- first one was HTTP web-service - successful
- second one was HTTPS web-service - failed with error :
<Error> <Net> <BEA-000903> <Failed to communicate with proxy: myproxy/myproxyport. Will try connection target_url/443 now.

Although if i switch off proxy server everything works perfect (both HTTP and HTTPS web-services).
What could be the problem with?

Hi Kenneth,
At the moment, SALT does not support the configuring of an outbound proxy server. I suspect you could use a transparent proxy server, i.e., a proxy server/router combination that proxies outgoing requests, although this isn't something we have tested. My suggestion would be to open a support case and ask for this enhancement. I think it is a reasonable thing for SALT to support.

  • Certificate error while connecting to multiple web service

    I am having a web service test client through which I can connects and get reports from multiple web services.
    In Development unix box, we are using "self-signed certificate" using keystore type JKS. In Production server, we are using certificate from CA.
    The web service is running in Development and in Production.
    Now I have developed single test client with a drop down selection for different web services. For example, if we select "Development", the request will go the development web service and if we select "Production", the request will go to Production web service.
    Now while connecting to Develpment service, we are settings the below certificates details Because we are using the self signed certificate.
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore",keyStoreFileLocation);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword",keyStorePassword);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType", keyStoreType);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType",trustStoreType);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",trustStoreFileLocation);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword",trustStorePassword);
    I am clearing the System properties using the System.clearProperty() while pointing to Production service. because in Production we are using the CA certificate from Thawte so these details are not required at all and our JRE (java 5) is pre configured to support that CA certificate.
    I am using Resin-2.1.12, axis1.2 and java5.
    Now the problem is
    (1) for the first time, when I send the request to Production Service URL, the report gets generated. For the next time when we are running against Development, it's giving below certificate error.
    sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    (2) Now restart resin and run the test client against Developemnt service URL, here report gets generated and for the next time, run the test client against Production, it's giving the certificate error.
    So for the 2nd request, it always gives the error irrespective of the web service instance selected.
    Please suggest ....thanks in advance.

    Hi  ,
    No, due to the issue is happening only on one computer.
    The error "(401) Unauthorized" usually indicates that the connection has been established but the permission check fails.  InfoPath Form Services uses the application pool identity of the web
    application to connect to resources.
    Does the account  which login the computer have permission to connect to User Profile Service Application?
    For a workaround, you can go to IIS Manager , set the User Profile Application Pool to Anonymous Access and try again.

    Hello,
    I have 2wfe (NLB), 2app, 1db farm.

    I checked several blogs, they refer to hosts file, but not sure because why is it happening only on one computer?
    I have hosts files refers to 127.0.0.1 webapp .
    What could be the issue? I have other Service Apps are working without any issues.

  • Coldfusion can not connect to HTTPS web service

    Hi,
    So I have Win 2008 R2 Server running coldfusion10 and when I try to get it to connect to this https webservice I get
    Error creating web service. Please ensure that you have
    entered a correct Web Service name or URL
    I have the SSL cert in the keystore and I can browse to the service from the broweser on the server not really sure what else might be causeing it I though maybe some XML version issues but it it able to connect to other services with this XML version that are not HTTPS.
    Thanks for all the help ^^

    Which keystore are you referring to. Make sure it the [cfpath]/runtime/jre/lib/security/cacerts store. (I'm using CF9 so the path might be slightly off but it's still "cacerts" from what I remember).

    And also when I am calling the entity set 'EmployeeCollection' of the odata service it is giving the below error,
    Kindly tell me, which will help me to cal the data of the EmployeeCollection entity set of the odata service. How I can connect to that odata with the help of the NetWeaver Gateway? And why this errors are coming? Do I need any authorization from our HR team of our company to connect to this odata service to retrieve data or the data should come automatically?
    Regards,
    Soumya

    To understand the error,
    1.go to developer console in chrome by pressing F12.
    2. Next go to network tab and refresh the application by pressing F5.
    3.In the network tab you will see an OData service call being fired to fetch  Employee collection data. 4.Right click on the call and open it in a new tab. There you can see the actual error message.
    From the error you have posted it looks like, the Entity collection expects atleast one filter condition to be passed while calling the collection. Calling the Entity collection without any filter is equivalent to 'SELECT *' without any WHERE clause. However in this case the particular service enforces a where clause by specifying a $filter option. If no $filter is supplier it raises an exception which you get here.

  • Invoking a web service via proxy

    Hi,
    I have requirement to invoke a web service protected by basic http authentication.
    I have generated a jax-ws proxy, the proxy makes a local copy of the wsdl.
    And I use the following code to invoke it:
    lDAPUserAdminService = new LDAPUserAdminService();
    LDAPUserAdminServiceSoap lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap = lDAPUserAdminService.getLDAPUserAdminServiceSoap();
    BindingProvider bindingProvider = (BindingProvider) lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap;
    Map<String,Object> rc = (Map<String,Object>)bindingProvider.getRequestContext();
    rc.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "lclient");
    rc.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, "xxxxx");
    lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap.getUser()..
    it works fine for the url that is used to generate the proxy.
    But when I try to invoke the same service deployed on a different server using the following code:
    lDAPUserAdminService = new LDAPUserAdminService(
    new URL("http://10.23.48.132:7003/LDAPAdminServices/user/LDAPUserAdminService.jws?wsdl"),
    new QName("http://www.openuri.org/", "LDAPUserAdminService")); *//gives 401 error*
    LDAPUserAdminServiceSoap lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap = lDAPUserAdminService.getLDAPUserAdminServiceSoap();
    BindingProvider bindingProvider = (BindingProvider) lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap;
    Map<String,Object> rc = (Map<String,Object>)bindingProvider.getRequestContext();
    rc.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "lclient");
    rc.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, "xxxxx");
    lDAPUserAdminServiceSoap.getUser()..
    I get 401 unauthorized error when trying to create the proxy itself trying to access the wsdl.
    Is there any way to pass credentials programatically so that the proxy can access the wsdl.
    Really appreciate any help!!

  • HTTPS web service connection errors

    We have a Java web application that accesses a Web Service using https. Last week the hosts of the web service installed a new signed SSL certificate. As soon as they installed the new certificate, our Java web app stopped working. When we try and access the web service via the web app we get the following error:
    2008-05-16 20:20:07,226 ERROR [org.codehaus.xfire.transport.http.HttpChannel] - javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    2008-05-16 20:20:07,237 ERROR [grantee.GranteeServlet] - Could not invoke service.. Nested exception is org.codehaus.xfire.fault.XFireFault: Couldn't send message.
    The Operating System is Solaris, The Web application server is Tomcat 5.5, and the JDK java version is "1.5.0_05".
    The confusing part is that we can test the web service using SOAP UI. We can access the webservice that way. So the web service seems to be working correctly, but our Web Application can't seem to connect to it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance, and let me know if you have any more questions.

    Hi Aaron,
    You may want to try formatting the cell of "ModifiedOn" to a TEXT format instead of date to get yyyy/mm/dd formatting to appear.
    It seems that Xcelsius automatically converts any type of date-specific formatting (as specified from Excel) to a date serial, which is what you are seeing here.
    Hope that works.

  • OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

    Hi
    I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
    I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?
    -Johan

    The exeption we are getting is BEA-380000
    General runtime error: [Security:090477]Certificate chain received from XXX - 123.123.123.123 --> test.salesforce.com was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure.
    This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate.

  • HTTP connection from OSB web service to external system via a Proxy Server

    Dear experts,
    May I know has anyone tried to use HTTP protocol to send a request from OSB web service to external system via a proxy server? Heard that we need to establish some sort of tunnel (socket) to talk to Proxy Server. Can you please any have sample code or configuration steps to share?

    Adding Proxy Servers
    Use the Summary of Proxy Servers page to add and configure Proxy Server resources and make them available in Oracle Service Bus as a system resource. You must be in an active session to configure or reconfigure Proxy Server resources.
    1. If you have not already done so, click Create to create a new session or click Edit to enter an existing session. See Using the Change Center.
    2. Select System Administration > Proxy Servers.
    3. Click Add.
    4. In the Name field, enter a name for the Proxy Server resource. This is a required field.
    5. In the Description field, enter a short description for the Proxy Server resource.
    6. In the Host-Port Parameters section, enter the following information:
    1. In the Server Host field, enter the host name or IP address of the Proxy Server. This is a required field.
    The Server Host name for the Oracle Service Bus proxy server must be identical to the server host name of the actual proxy server.
    2. In the Clear Text Port field, enter the Proxy Server clear-text port number.
    3. In the SSL Port field, enter the Proxy Server SSL port number. You must enter either a clear text or SSL port number.
    4. Click Add.
    You can configure multiple Proxy Servers for each Proxy Server resource. This enables Oracle Service Bus to perform load balancing and offer fault tolerance features for the Proxy Server resource.
    7. If the Proxy Server performs proxy authentication, enter a user name in the User Name field, and the associated password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
    These fields are optional, and required only if the Proxy Server is secured.
    8. Click Save to create and save the Proxy Server resource in the current session.
    9. To end the session and deploy the configuration to the run time, click Activate under Change Center.

  • An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service, when InfoPath web enabled form loads.

    Hi Everyone,
    I am getting an error message: An error occurred while trying to connect to a web service, when my InfoPath form tries to load.  The last few days, it only spits this error message in the morning and around 12pm-1pm it resolves itself and the form loads
    fine the rest of the day, oddly enough.
    A few things about my form:
    1). It is web enabled
    2). The form submits to a form library on the SP server
    3). I use the UserProfileService data connection in the form to auto-populate a few fields
    4). I use a udcx file with correct language stored in the root of the site collection in the data connection library
    5). The form has been working fine until a few days ago
    I noticed while in Central Administration, that the User Profile Service Synchronization is Stopped.  Not sure if this is causing some or all of the problem. If I need to start it I will need to contact my farm administrator to do this, since I do not
    have the service account information.
    Also, I looked thru the log files on the SharePoint server and found the following by searching for the Correlation ID shown when the error comes up, I won't put in everything just the important messages.
    Schema file was already loaded: BuiltInActiveXControls.xsd
    FormServer Partial Trust - Proxy operation invoked in the SHIM process.
    FormServer Partial Trust - Invoking proxy operation for Web service adapter failed with exception Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. for Url=https://<SP URL>/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx
    Data adapter failed during OnLoad: The custom code in the form cannot be run. This functionality may be deactivated on the server. For more information, contact the server farm administrator.
    The following query failed: GetUserProfileByName (User: , Form Name: Expense Report, IP: , Connection Target: <SP URL>/Data Connections/GetUserProfileByName.udcx, Request: , Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:Expense-Report:-myXSD-2014-04-11T21-06-32
    Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The custom code in the form cannot be run. This functionality may be deactivated on the server.

    Hi B.,
    You are on the right track. I recommend that you first get the User Profile Synchronization Service started because that itself could be the root cause of the issue.
    If that doesn't fix it then focus your attention on the GetUserprofileByName data connection. I always use my secure store ID for this connection. I add the ID by editing the udcx file and then publishing it again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connection Reset while making http web service call to remote server

    Hello guys,
    Our environment details are as follows:
    WebLogic version: 10.3.3
    Cluster: yes
    Database: Oracle
    Web service server: Remote application
    When our WebLogic server makes a http Web service call to another remote application which runs on IIS server for creating a record. The record gets created in remote application but WebLogic server log says java.net.SocketException: Connection reset and the same record doesn't get created in WebLogic application. We have confirmed that remote application is running and it is behaving as expected. Also, we installed web service client on our WebLogic machine just to isolate any network related issues, when we make a same request through this client it works fine and we get answer. At this point in time, it looks like it could be WebLogic or application which is behaving goofy. we are running out of ideas, it would be nice if someone have any thoughts on it like turning on any flags or any other troubleshooting steps. Please, let me know.

    Regards,

    Here's what the issue was for us:
    When the web service was initializing, Weblogic? was trying to retrieve the WSDL first before initializing the service.
    Though the web service URL was proper, the WSDL itself was unresolvable. This led to this strange connection reset error.
    So, if you're experiencing this consistently, check your WSDL URL.
    We used "strace" to discover this problem by running it for a brief time while the web service initialization was attempted - and it very clearly showed that the code was attempting to laod something from a bogus address / IP

  • New to Web Services - need to call a HTTPS web service from PL/SQL

    I am new to Web Services and need to call HTTPS web service from PL/SQL program. I am using 10g Database.
    I have been reading there are 2 options -
    1. UTL_HTTP - with this package its possible to call HTTPS web services
    2. UTL_DBWS
    Questions -
    1. Is it possible to call a HTTPS web service using UTL_DBWS ? I have not been able to find any information on it.
    2. Can someone point me to UTL_HTTP and UTL_DBWS examples calling a HTTPS web service ?
    3. The HTTPS web service that I need to call needs username/password to connect - how will I incorporate this in the pl/sql code ?
    Appreciate the help.
    Cheers,
    newWebServicesUser

    Hi,
    1. UTL_DBWS not work for https from what I understand
    2. Here is a sample example:
    [http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/ConsumingWebServices9i.php#]
    Be careful, you must change http/1.0 IN 1.1 inside package SOAP_API.
    Here is an example for a prime number where the SOAP message is already construct:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure test_ws_2
    IS
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    request_env varchar2(32767);

    Otherwice for testing url, i recommand you to use that function: Re: Error using UTL_HTTP over HTTPS
    it's a verry helpful function when you have an error.

    When testing using UTL_HTTP, you MUST ensure that you open a new session after importing the SSL certificates into your Wallet,
    as I've learned (the hard way) that existing sessions point to the wallet contents that were present when the session was opened.
    If you don't realise/know this, it can cause a lot of additional frustration during testing, when you keep getting the ORA-29024 exception AFTER
    you've imported the SSL certificates................. ;) 3. i think you can use that after the begin_request but not sure :
    UTL_HTTP.set_authentication(r => http_req,
    username => ,
    password => ,
    scheme => ,
    for_proxy => );

    hi guys,
    I am trying to connect to a web service but i keep getting the following errors:

    <faultstring>Server was unable to process request. --> Value cannot be

    Parameter name: s</faultstring>
    My guess is that it is to do with converting java unicode to utf-8..
