I think there are two problems:
login was a number
- it must be filled surrounded by apostrophes ''
eg: login: '123456789'
user profile (in oracle database) has restriction that password cannot by changed
APEX password verification uses ALTER USER
administrator said that there is a patch for db but not for AMD64
is it true?

I have a employee table. In order to make authentication custom I use that table. The following is the function for it.

Use
RETURN PKG_CONTROLS.CheckPasswordfor yor authentication function and it will work. I think the default is two parameters and apex is parsing those two always. This is why explicit handling over of parameters will not work.

Error while logging in `ERR-10740 Unable to run custom post-auth process.'

Hi there,
I get the following error only with specific users; some can login, some can't. There is consistency is who receives this error.
Error ERR-10740 Unable to run custom post-auth process.
the text of the "Post-Authentication Process" field in the my authentication schemes is as follows:

The error message isn't very helpful and I can't see why Apex can't run it. Why is Apex unable to run the custom post-auth process?

Thats just the message when you get when there is an unhandled exception in your post-auth process. Apex wraps your code with its own and if you hit any error it just raises that error to the screen. If you were to go into your post-auth and do:

end;You can see that it raises the same error message to the screen instead of an excepted pl/sql exception about dividing by zero.

Error ERR-1802 Unable to find item

I was using HTML DB to execute a query. The region expected an item and based on
that item to retrieve a Clob and output to the GUI. Here is the PL/SQL code:

When I first time ran a page I was able to get the page back without any issue;
however when I entered the second ID, I got "Error ERR-1802 Unable to find item

Unexpected error". Then I tried running the same page on different browser
(switch from firefox to IE ) and entered the second ID I was able to get the
page back. The same problem happened for the second browser, that is, if I
entered another ID to search, I got the same error.
And I turned on the trace using p_trace=YES

The query just took the CLOB content and divided it into table of varchar2(4000) base on chr(10). The query worked well in PL/SQL when I replaced htp with dbms_output.
The branching was the default one, "Redirect To Page 11 (the same page)". I only created one region, one item and one button. That branching was automatically created.

Error ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "ID" in application

Hi everyone,
I'm new to APEX and I've come across this error for the first time. I have a page with a classic report in it, and I want to create a link from one of the columns in the report (ID column) to another page with a classic report in it. So when I click on, say, ID 118, I want to be sent to the other page and to only see the information for ID 118.
After creating the column link I receive the error message when I run the application:
Error      ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "ID" in application
I've tried creating a link from one report to another before and it worked fine.

So, on page 1 I have some columns from a table (ID, name etc) and I want to link the values in the ID column to a report on page 2, so that the columns in page 2 (order no, type etc) show only the information for the ID I clicked on in page 1. I went to Page Definition -> Regions -> Report link -> click on the "edit" icon on the left of column "ID" and in the Column Link section I have the following:
Link text: #ID#
Link Attributes: title="Click to see deal information."
Target: Page in this application
Page: 2
Clear Cache: CIR,2
Item 1:
     Name: ID
     Value: #ID#
I have no item called ID on page 2.

Hi All,
I am new to Apex, still a beginner. Please need your help on this.
We recently upgraded to Apex 4.1 from Apex 3.0. The database version is 10.2.0.4.
I am getting this below error.
Error ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "" in application "11501".
Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.
This error specifically occurs when two sessions are opened from the same browser, and the same page is accessesed. This was not occuring before in 3.0.

i have the exact same problem and situation. (but i dont use Oracle Apps, only APEX).
Migrated from APEX 2.2 to APEX 4.1
Application is (unfortunately) used and opened in Internet Explorer with more than one session/tabs by users.
In APEX2.2 this was working, in APEX4.1 i get the following error:

So i thought this is an issue with the authentication scheme (that was migrated, too). I dropped it and recreated it, but same problem.
When i look to the URL after the re-login, it is:

The strange thing is the part of ",4753713078141275:"
What is APEX doing here?
=> i figured out that this is a Page Item ID. I have the hidden item P3_REPORT_TYPE which interal ID is 4753713078141275.
I use the hidden item to conditionally display some regions on the page.
Or is the problem before the comma, the "NULL" value ",47..." ?
Can anyone help me or explain what is the problem here to get a solution?

Hello all,
I created an application for faculty in HTMLDB 1.6.
To get to the application faculty members log into a different website, and then follow a link to my application. The link re-directs them to a public page which pulls their unique ID from a cookie stored by the first website. After their ID is found they are automatically logged in, or if the ID is not present they are redirected to the main login page.
A few faculty members have tested the automatic login with success. One member, though, followed the same steps, but when he clicked on the link and was re-directed to the application he recieved an error "error: ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item 'APP_SESSION'."
As for the code, the code first retrieves the cookie and gets the ID from it. The variable term_id is then set to the correct term value. This term value depends on what term was selected from the previous application. The term value may or may not be null (they are not required to select a term prior to being re-directed). If it is null, the faculty member is brought to a term selection page. If it is not null, the faculty member skips this step and moves on to the next page. These steps are known to work properly.
This plsql code follows directly after, which should login the user and either redirect him/her to the term select page if the term value is null, or the main page if there is a term value present:

Ah, i see. I thought you only had to use v('APP_SESSION') in the login function while assigned the value of P_SESSION_ID, but I was wrong.

I have apex 4.2.1.00.08
Occasionally address box contains comma (f?p=102:LOGIN_DESKTOP:::::,). This bug do not have a logic, just occured.
Could somebody help me?

Just started to get this error on the hosted environment when I click on the Run icon on Page Definition page in App Builder, link is

This happens when someone imports a copy of the Builder into their workspace and doesn't change the alias from 'BUILDER'. This happened today. I fixed it. It's a bug that will be fixed in 2.2.

pages in htmldb can be aliased with alphanumeric identifiers. this way you can use those aliases instead of the page names when calling them. your error message means that you asked htmldb to serve up a page with an alias of "State Bank Of Indore" when a page with such an alias didn't exist (page aliases have to be valid oracle alphanumeric identifiers, so htmldb wouldn't have let you create an alias with spaces in it like "State Bank Of Indore", anyhow). to me this suggests you have an improperly defined branch. i'd check that branch to make sure your page is correctly specified there.

i'm able to get the page by specifying the application id. but unable to get it by using the page alias(ie.,application name). What could be the problem....

Please show details like the URL you are using and all relevant details about your application and page. The page alias is not the same as the application name. Applications have both a name and an alias as does a page. You might be using the application name or the application alias instead of the page alias.

I am converting 6i reports to 11g for that i am compiling 6i report in 10g reports and copy in 11g server

web_reportn(report_id,plid);This is where you actually call the report, so the error is in that procedure. What is the code of this procedure?
Furthermore, I don't see any reference to system parameters, like destype, desname, report server name etc. Are they set in web_reportn?

APEX4 possible bug: ERR-1412 Unable to resolve page alias

Hi,
when I try to start application using builder from a page that requires authentication I get the following error after successful authentication:
Error ERR-1412 Unable to resolve page alias (f?p=107|13|2569050001543698|||||). Clicking OK under error displays the target page successfully.
This happens in development environment only. No errors when starting application by direct URL from end user point of view.
The login process use the following code:

the details are

then i ran the loadsdk.sql script,
then i ran regapp.sql script in FLOWS_030100 schema, then it prompted for

after that i ran custom_auth_sso.sql and custom_auth_sso.plb
then given grants to public user.
grant execute on wwv_flow_custom_auth_sso to apex_public_user;
created authentication scheme and i made that scheme current.
when i am running the application through apex
first it's asking for SSO username and password, after giving valid username and pwd, it's giving "the page can not be found" message. url of the page is http://dev.sso.com:7777/sso/auth
where i was wrong. pls help me.
