Error Handling of Inbound Interfaces

Hi,
Can somebody give me an idea as to how to go about handling the errors occuring while posting the Inbound IDoc? Apart from the Standard SAP Notification mechanism, I would like to know if there are any other ways to notify the end user that a particular has occured so that it saves the time.
Thanks and Regards,
Venkat.

Hi Alexander,
MDM Assignment is not like Validation based on which you can branch out your process based on the validation result.
Assignment will assign a value to the desired field based on the expression you write.
So you need to take care that your expression handles all the incoming records fully and does not fail.
Hope It Helped

  • How to handle multiple inbound interfaces with WSDL messages

    Hi All,
We have a synchronous: Abap Proxy -> XI -> WebService Scenario. The webservice has multiple SoapActions e.g. SearchForProduct_WithX, SearchForProduct_WithY each with different message types. We have tried to use the receiver determination to send the request to the correct soapaction using conditions e.g. if field X in the request is populated use SearchForProduct_WithX action/message.
But when we run it through the proxy we get this error:
      <CODE>IF_DETERMINATION.TOO_MANY_IIFS_CASE_BE</CODE>
<ERRORTEXT>Multiple inbound interfaces not supported for synchronous calls</ERRORTEXT>
Does anybody know how we can get around this or how best to deal with the multiple soap actions per wsdl situation.

    Hi Yaghya,
We have used conditions in the Interface Determination. Interestingly if we use an HTTP sender adapter we can use this configuration ... but once we try and use ABAP proxies we get the previous error.
Another related question ... when we use the http adapter we get a connection time out exception. Same thing happens if we try and use the wsdl tester at /wsnavigator but we can open the wsdl through the browser. Any idea on this one?
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Error handling for inbound function module

    Dear all,
I have written my custom function module for matmas idoc extention. In the begining of function module i have used IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01  and then have coded my BDC.For handling errors in caese BDC fails i am filling  table  idoc_status. wih status 51.
    But this gives eror as-
Status records with status 51 after status 53
    Message no. B1357
    Diagnosis
The application function module controlling the ALE inbound processing has passed several status records to ALE. The status of the last of these was '51'. Before this, a status of '53' was passed.
    Procedure
If you have written the application function module yourself, you need to change the program.
Can anybody guide me how to get the exact application errors in Application log.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You are using BDC after the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01'. Right??.... The problem is, The function Module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 itself posts the material and set the status '53' i.e. document posted. You can not have any error status '51' after that.
I don't understand the need of BDC in spite of the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01'. But if whatever the reason, you still want to use the BDC and set the status to 51, After the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01' call, Delete status table where status = '53'. and then proceed for the BDC...

  • Error Handling in Inbound ABAP Proxy with EOIO

    Hi,
    The scenario
I have a File to ABAP Proxy scenario and since the requirement is that the messages have to be processed in a single queue in the SAP system (i.e. EOIO), the sender file channel was configured to be EOIO. This ensures that all messages that enters the SAP system are put in a single queue and then processed one after the other.
    The Issue
Now if one of the messages that enter SAP system fails during the processing in the ABAP program, the queue gets stuck and all messages after that go into a scheduled state. And one has to manually clear the errored message in order to continue processing the other waiting messages.
    The Question
I know this is a default behavior in an EOIO scenario, however is there any way in which if a message fails in the ABAP program then one can automatically push it out of the queue and keep processing the other messages after it ?
    Thanks
    Bharath

As a general rule I only use EOIO when there is a possibility of dependancy between messages (message 1 must be first and finsihed before message 2 starts). Assuming your just moving the errored message asside, I would assume that EOIO should be just EO.
Alternatively, change the ABAP proxy to handle the error and return a clean status. Exception handling (try/catch) should be used were ever dangerous code is being used.
If alerting in the proxy end point is to much trouble - change your proxy to a sync scenario return the error to PI and fire alerts from there <- I think this should be avoided but it will work.
The main point is the exception handling so that the proxy fails "gracefully".

  • Forward Error Handling - File interfaces?

    Hello Experts,
Can we use Forward Error Handling (FEH) for implementing error handling in File Interfaces ?
Like for simple Application Server file interfaces, if something goes wrong during the process of writing/reading a file on App Server, can we use FEH for showing the log?
I know it is a concept used for PI...so we want to know if it can be used for file interfaces as well? Just want to keep similar approach for error handling and logging (for both PI and File Interfaces).
    Thanks.

Edit 1 May 2015: Added inbound
    Just a slight correction.
FEH is used in the ABAP backend systems and are only for asynchronous inbound proxy interfaces. It is not available for sync proxies, IDocs, BAPIs. Neither is it available for any error handling on the PI system itself.

  • XML message error "No inbound interface found "

    Hi,
I have inbound file adapter and mine is standalone XI box,

Error when determining inbound interface. No inbound interface found for sender XI1 and outbound interface FILE2IDOC.FILEINBOUND
    pls help me.
    thankx

The message is telling you the exact problem - you do not have a receiver identification configured in the Integration Directory for this combination of inbound interface, namespace, and business system.  Make sure your file adapter is configured to send with the correct outbound interface/interface namespace.

  • File receive adapter command line error handling

    Hi,
This is our requirement - After the file receive adapter, we need to run a script. Based on the return code of the script, we need to handle the error handling of the interface (i.e. send an email about the error).
I have looked at the operating system command line in the file adapter. How does XI handle return codes for the command line? If the command line has a error return code, how to send an email from XI?
If anyone has ideas on this topic, please respond!!
    thanks,
    lasya

    Hi,
I don't think so, it is possible directly. You can not get the Response back to XI pipeline from the shell script.
But you can think, if you are able to call this from Mapping.
And one more option is using Transport Acknowledgement ( with BPM) if the file is not able to write into the target directory you can raise an alert-

  • Error when trying multiple inbound interface determination for IDOC

    Hi !
I have this scenario: File -> XI -> IDOC.
For each source file, I need to send multiple idoc packages, all to the same business system, but each package should be the result of different interface mappings.
All mappings have same source and target message types...e.g. source: MT_MyFile, target: CREMAS04.
To avoid creating a generic mapping program, we need to duplicate the current mapping program, make it handle the new case, and then add it as second interface mapping in Interface Determination, with same inbound interface, but different interface mapping, without conditions. All interface mapping should execute.
    We are receving this error:
      <SAP:Code area="IF_DETERMINATION">CX_ID_PLSRV</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1>Inbound interface was found more than once (for same sender and receiver) for outbound interface urn:xxxxx/xxxx:.MI_xx_xxxxxxxx_xxx_xx</SAP:P1>

    Any clues?

  • Error when determining the inbound interface

    Hi Experts,
I have a Scenario, where i am using Multi mapping Scenario in DEBMDM IDOC from ECC to Xml_File-1(DEBMAS) and Xml_File-2(ADRMAS).
When i Execute the Scenario by sending the IDOC from ECC , i am getting the below error.
    Runtime error
Error when determining the inbound interface: Inbound interface found several times (for same sender and receiver) for the outbound interface urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages.DEBMDM.DEBMDM06
    Scenario Steps
    1) No Condition in Interface Determination
    2) 0..unbounded in Message Mapping and Operational Mapping.
    3) E1KNA1 is mapped to E1KNA1
    4) E1ADRMAS is mapped to E1ADRMAS
    5) One Message Mapping and 1 Operational Mapping.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sriram.

    Hello,
I have a Scenario, where i am using Multi mapping Scenario in DEBMDM IDOC from ECC to Xml_File-1(DEBMAS) and Xml_File-2(ADRMAS).
Since your scenario makes sure that the 2 files are created, there is no need to use multi-mapping. Rather, you can use an interface determination split. To do this:
    1. declare xml_file1 as service interface 1, xml_file2 as service interface 2
    2. do not change target occurrence in message mapping and operation mapping, maintain it as 1..1
    ( 2 operation mappings)
    3. in ID, add the two service interfaces in your interface determination
At runtime, it will split into two inbound interfaces.
Were you able to declare the 2 xml_files as two separate service interface(different names) in your operation mapping?
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Using code interface node with dll crashes LV 2011 but not LV 8.6... using max error handling does nothing

    Hi all,
    I'm having a peculiar problem.
I inherited a project saved in LabVIEW 8.6. The project must use of particular dll that was built a few years ago. The original developer and source code for this .dll are long gone. The very core logic exists, in the form of embedded C code, and that's it. The .dll is called through a Code Interface Node in LV 8.6 and this setup manages to "work". Howver, running the VI that calls this .dll in LV 2011 causes an "insta crash", as in, no "program has stopped responding".  Error message pops up, then all LV windows close.
It's very similar to that described in here:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D84C9775ABD921CF8625772A005CA50C
but this KB says to try putting the amount of error handling to maximum. I tried that, but it didn't help.
Using the "Debug" option allows me to run the just-in-time debugger with CVI 2010, which then proceeds to say this:
Finally, I manage to get this out of it:
FATAL RUN-TIME ERROR:   Unknown source position, thread id 0x000012D4:   A non-debuggable thread caused a 'General Protection' fault at address 0x00000000.
I don't think that really helps at all, but it's there.
Here is the function prototype of the .dll:
    void  _inputPM@224(uint8_t arg1, uint16_t arg2, uint8_t arg3, float arg4, float arg5, float arg6, float arg7, float arg8, float arg9, float arg10, float arg11, float arg12, float arg13, float arg14, float arg15, float arg16, float arg17, uint16_t arg18, uint16_t arg19, uint16_t arg20, uint16_t arg21, uint16_t arg22, uint16_t arg23, uint16_t arg24, uint16_t arg25, uint16_t arg26, float arg27, float arg28, float arg29, float arg30, float arg31, float arg32, float arg33, float arg34, float arg35, float arg36, float arg37, float arg38, float arg39, float arg40, float arg41, float arg42, float arg43, float arg44, float arg45, float arg46, float arg47, uint16_t arg48, uint16_t arg49, uint16_t arg50, uint16_t arg51, uint16_t arg52, float arg53, float arg54, float arg55, float arg56);
(never seen a function take 50 input params like that (wouldn't you use a struct? array? something? But I digress, and I don't know anything about .dlls...))
I do have a ".lib" and a ".cdb" file with the same name as the .dll, but those also looks like some kind of compiled file.
I'm sure the answer I'm going to get is that there is no way of telling what's really going on without .dll source code. I'm hoping against hope that there may be another way or hack.
Any ideas? Thank you for you help.

Changing the call library node to stdcall (WINAPI) did the trick! No more crash. Thank you very much!
I haven't run LV2011 on windows XP, only on windows 7, so I don't know if that makes a dfference. But  The call type makes no difference when using LV 8.6 on the same machine, however.
Now I've got to make the .DLL run corretly on a compact fieldpoint....  and avoid crashing IT.
Thank you for the help all!
Well, the DLL did work fine in LabVIEW 8.6 because earlier versions of LabVIEW automatically proceeded to change the calling convention to stdcall, if they noticed a function name decoration of @# (# = number of bytes passed on the stack) appended to the name. This is the default naming decoration for stdcall functions used by VisualC. However this decoration can be overwritten with linker switches, other compilers don't use them always in the same way, and most likely there are in the mean time compilers out there that can produce such decorations also for non stdcall calling convention. So this automagic trickery was removed from newer LabVIEW versions.
I do think it could be considered a bug in the code that upgrades LabVIEW VIs, that it uses the calling convention that is configuerd in the dialog, instead of the calling convention earlier LabVIEW versions used automagically, but it is an esoteric corner case.
What Compact Fieldpoint controller do you have? If it's anything newer than 20xx or 21xx forget it. The 22xx controllers use a PPC CPU and VxWorks operating system and can never get a Windows DLL to operate properly. If it is a 20xx controller it's still highly likely that DLL can not even get loaded into LabVIEW as it likely relies on other runtime libraries and possibly Win32 APIs not present in the Pharlap ETS runtime kernel used on those controllers.
There is a tool to check a DLL for incompatible imports that are not present on specific ETS RT systems. And this list summarizes the RT system used on the various NI controllers.

  • ALE Inbound Error Handling

    Hi
Here I have problem in setting up Error handling in outbound/inbound processing of Idocs in ALE....
Can any one please explain how to do it....
My requirement is, if ever idoc goes in to error then the user has to be intimated by mail in SAP Inbox. As per my knowledge it can be done through partner profile...if specify user name in partner profiles/post processing agent place.
My doubt is will it be same in outbound/Inbound?
Do i need to do anything other than specifying usernames in partner profiles?
What is the use of Idoc Administrator?
Please explain how to do that....
    Awaiting your valuable answers...
    Thanks

I think you also need to specify the "post processing agent" in your Partner profile - Message Type.
    Check WE20.
In case you don't want to use organizational assignment then leave the task as it is as general task.
So only the user specified in "post processing agent" will be taken into consideration.
Here are the steps that you need to do for a complete error handling procedure ( but you can avoid organizational assignment if you just need to use User Name as receipient ):
I've taken it from F1 help on error handling:
    Error Handling
In this section, you can make the settings for error handling:
Create organizational units and assign standard tasks
Maintain EDI administration ( Idoc administrator section on Xn OYEA or We40 )
Maintain error process code ( Xn OYEA or We40 )
Further you can check it using Verification Processing on OYEA / WE40 .
Errors are processed in the system in which the error occurred.
You can repost IDocs that were not posted (with status 51) using program RBDMANIN.
    Requirements
ALE error handling uses workflow. A standard task is provided for each message type. Task TS20000051 is used for all BAPIs.
    Workflow functions as follows:
A task (work item) is generated for the error handling and stored as a message in the inboxes of the employees responsible.
If one of these employees processes the work item, the standard task method for error handling is started. The user can, for example, restart IDoc processing.
If the IDoc is processed successfully, the work item is deleted from the inboxes of all the employees involved.
For this procedure to function, the employees responsible for a particular message type and partner (sender or receiver) must be defined as follows:
    1. A hierarchy of organizational units (for example, "sales office") and positions (for example, "customer officer for customer X") is created and employees are assigned to it.
    2. The standard tasks for error handling (for example, an error related to an inbound sales order) are assigned to the relevant organizational units or positions (for example, "sales office").
    3. The organizational unit, position or employee responsible for dealing with the error are specified for each partner and message type in the partner profiles.
If an error occurs, the system determines:
    1. The employees responsible using the staffing schedule of the organizational unit or position linked to the standard task.
    2. The employees defined in the partner profiles (using position, user ID, or organizational unit).
    3. The employees appearing in both groups represent those who will receive a work item in their inboxes.
    Activities
Create organizational units and assign standard tasks
    Maintain EDI administration
    Maintain error process code
If you used EDI communication in an earlier version, you can check the assignment of error process codes to the standard tasks.
Check names of the employees responsible in the partner profiles.

  • Inbound Interface error

Hi, I have configured everything as it should be in XI and I get the message into sxmb_moni but it is redflaged and the error message is "Unable to find inbound interface". I have the Inbound message in Interface Mapping so I don't know what the problem is...do you?
    Thanks

    Hi,
But I have like 20 different solutions...how can I in the testconfiguration specify which solution I want to test? is that possible? - See for one sender system and one sender interface you can have only one reciver determination, in that you can add as many recivers as you want........but still the configuration test tool can be invoked by just specifying your sender system and sender interface and if you keep receiver system blank, then it will be executed for all reciver systems.............then you can see for which scenario it is erroring.

  • PI trouble shooting: Error in inbound interface

    morning,
I got a alert: "Error in inbound interface: POS transaction 1008 26.09.2009 1-35 Z102 0 transferred twice", but I don't know what it means.
I checked xml message and queue in PIP, but I didn't find anything about that.
    Please help me,thanks.

    Hi,
You mean sxmb_moni in PIP?  but I don't know what pos transaction is.
Well, the alert must have generated almost the same time when the transaction was run for the 2nd time, so  check 26.09.2009 entries in SXMB_MONI. But if there are lots of entries, it will be difficult.
Try to get in touch with the functional team responsible for this and ask them to troubleshoot at their end.
Also, check at the RWB -
I inputed "RWB" tcode in PIP, but "Transaction RWB does not exist"
RWB is not a transaction code. Go to your web browser for Integration Builder (from where you open ESR / ID), you will have a link to Runtime Work Bench from there.

  • Transaction and Error handling in Mediator 11g

    Hi Experts/Gurus/All,
We have following scenario in Mediators :-
    For Inbound Interfaces :-
    M1-->M2-->M3
    M1 calls M2 and M2 calls M3
    There are 3 mediators, Mediator#1(M1),Mediator#2(M2) and Mediator#3(M3)
M1 performs a FIle Read and do a ABO-->OAGIS conversion
    M2 performs routing
    M3 performs a OAGIS -->ABO(JDE E1) conversion.
Now,we are in middle to decide the Fault Handling Mechanism for this case.
M1 is Asynchronous , M2 is Synchronous and M3 is also Synchronous.
    Question is :
    1. M1 will start a new Transaction,Do M1 will propogate the same transaction to M2 which,as being Synch,propogates the same transaction to M3 ?
    2. How will the commit and Roll back will be taken care of?
    3. What if M1 errors out?
    4. Whatif M2 errors out?
    5. What if M3 errors out?
    In question 3,4 and 5:
What will happen will the Full Transaction ? If M3 erros out, would the Entire Transaction Propogated by M1 will be roll back?
Also ,How about Error handling in this case:
    Do I need to create seperate fault-policy.xml and fault-binding.xml for M1,M2 and M3 ?
Another Scenario is of OUTBOUND interfaces :-
    M1-->M2-->M3
    M1 calls M2 and M2 calls M3
However , M1,M2 and M3 are all Asynchronous.
In this scenarios how would I handle following :-
    1. If M2 Errors out,I need the entire Interface which comprises of M1-->M2-->M3 to roll back?
    2. If M3 Errors out,I need the entire Interface which comprises of M1-->M2-->M3 to roll back?
    3. Seperate Transactions means I have to create seperate fault-policy.xml and fault-mapping.xml to handle errors?

    Hi,
You could create a package, and use the OdiSqlUnload to export the data into a flat file (csv) from snp_check_tab, then amend it. Then create an interface to load the data from the flat file to your tables, either via external tables or SQL Loader.
Question is, why are you amending data going from source to target? there surely has to be something wrong with the Architecture (especially if you are getting errors in production). If you amend data, so that it is different in source as it is in target, then when it comes to regression testing, this will never match.
The errors should go be fixed at source, and either you, or the business should have access to do so.
    Cheers
    Bos
