R3ldctl error for - ABAP Database Content Export -
Hello !!!
While running <b>sapinst</b> to perform the export phase, I see the next error message at console:
<b>Error: 2007-03-05 11:57:40 [iaxxbrunas.cpp:269]

<i>I try to create a Database EXPORT using R3load Based procedure.</i>
I use for that: Installation_Master_6.20_6.40_09_06, from the tree control, I choose:

<i>In phase of Database export:</i>
In <b>sapinst.log</b> file is put the error message:
<b>ERROR 2007-03-05 11:57:40

In <b>R3ldctl.log</b> file is put the error message:

Electrica Transilvania Nord - RomaniaHallo,
I choose Non Unicode way, but still error:
<b>ERROR 2007-03-06 15:00:11
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: '/sapmnt/BWD/exe/R3ldctl -l ./R3ldctlExport.log -p /instal/export/DATA/ ' returned with '2' which is not a defined as a success code.</b>
persist.
In log file <b>R3ldctl.log</b> is not write any messages,... consider that is a good sign.
In log file <b>R3ldctlExport.log</b> is write error message:
<b>DbSl Trace: OCI-call 'OCIInitialize' failed: rc = -1
DbSl Trace: OCI-call 'OCIErrorGet' failed: rc = -2
ERROR: DbSlConnect rc= 99
DbSl Trace: OCI-call 'OCIInitialize' failed: rc = -1
DbSl Trace: OCI-call 'OCIErrorGet' failed: rc = -2</b>"
Log file <b>R3ldctlExport.log</b> is created under <i>user/group = bwdadm/sapsys</i>.
I execute sapinst under <i>user/group = root/root</i>.
Curiously is: under <i>user/group = bwdadm/sapsys</i> from console, command
<i>/sapmnt/BWD/exe/R3ldctl -l ./R3ldctlExport.log -p /instal/export/DATA/</i>
is executed with success.
But .. in logfile <b>R3ldctlExport.log</b> is a set of warning messages, like that, for all tables founded:
"<b>WARNING: no technical settings for table "BTCJSTAT" in SAP data dictionary - defaults used</b>"
In export directory <b>/instal/export/DATA/</b> is created files like:
49173 -rw-rr 1 bwdadm sapsys 4929 Mar 6 15:16 DDLORA.TPL
49171 -rw-rr 1 bwdadm sapsys 1048 Mar 6 15:16 SAP0000.STR
Thanks for any suggestion or help

ABAP Run time error when display the Customs Export declarations
Hi,
I'm receiving ABAP Run time error when display the Customs Exp. Declarations Under SAP Customs Processing -> Customs Processing - Import / Export -> Monitoring.
Error messaging point to Function Module - /SAPSLL/CUHD_LOAD_SELECTION.
While debugging we found that Primary Key of the below structures are not the same
lt_corpar type /sapsll/corpar_t
lt_corpar_ht type /sapsll/corpar_k02_ht
Does anyone has the SAP Notes or solution to this issue other than changing the structures manually. I'm not sure about the impact if i change manually
Error message short details
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "/SAPSLL/SAPLCUHD_SELECTION" - in
"/SAPSLL/CUHD_LOAD_SELECTION".
The main program was "/SAPSLL/CULO_DISPLAY_CUS_EXP ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 144
of the (Include) program "/SAPSLL/LCUHD_SELECTIONU01".
We are on GTS Release 8.0 and Support Package SAPK-80014INSAPSLL (Support pack level 14).
Regards,
Pradeep MaddiHi,
I have implemented SAP Note 1531799, but it hasn't resolved the current issue.
For Our GTS instance, there are 2 Feeder Systems (ECC) attached, but document transfer in one of the system has not been activated. Both having the same partner functions ( We copied the sandbox into 2 different instances for different business Testings and now these 2 instances attached to GTS for testing). These feeder systems have different Logical system names and Logical system groups.
Recently i have implemented SAP Corrections manually for one the issue, Please see below thread for the detail information
Proforma Invoice not transferred to GTS
After implementing the corrections, i have created Pro-forma invoice in ECC system. When i tried to display, i'm facing the ABAP Dump issues.
Error details
Runtime Errors ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY
ABAP Program /SAPSLL/SAPLCUHD_SELECTION
Application Component SLL-LEG
You tried to insert an entry into table "\FUNCTION=/SAPSLL/CUHD_LOAD_SELECTION\DATA=LT_CORPAR_HT". However, updating the unique table key "PRIMARY_KEY" resulted in a duplicate entry. The key concerned may be either the primary key or a secondary key.

Runtime Errors CONVT_NO_NUMBER
Exception CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBER
Occurred on 09/29/2005 at 14:33:21
Unable to interpret "04:" as a number.
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "ZVXR0303" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception will be dealt with in more detail
below. The exception, assigned to the class 'CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBER', was
not caught, which
led to a runtime error. The reason for this exception is:
The program attempted to interpret the value "04:" as a number, but
since the value contravenes the rules for correct number formats,
this was not possible.
How to correct the error
Integers are represented in ABAP using a sequence of digits and, in some
cases, a preceding sign.
The system offers the following options for displaying floating point
numbers:
[mantissa]E[sign][exponent]
[whole number part].[fractional part]
e.g. -12E+34, +12E-34, 12E34, 12.34
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program
that you modified, try to correct it yourself.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"CONVT_NO_NUMBER" CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBERC
"ZVXR0303" or "ZVXR0303"
"START-OF-SELECTION"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
following documents to SAP:
1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
part.
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

Error when import BI content 3.5.3
Hi All
I have error when import BI content 3.5.3 step at Tcode 'SAINT' (file SAPKIBIFIH.car) for mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0 IDES).
The error occur in step 3/5 after enter SAINT:Passw request.
System shown information "<b>Queue SAPKLTHQ10 has not yet been confirmed</b>".
In step 4/5 sytem shown statue/remarks "<b>The Add-on installation terminated during phase PROLOGUE</b>".
I think about installation THAI font package at Tcode "SMLT" uncompleted.
I run report <b>"RSCPINST"</b> at Tcode "SE38" for editing codepage after that the system shown error message "<b>MDMP is not supported foe SAP Business Information Warehouse. Message no.RIN010"</b> Please see sap note 563975.
<b>Note:</b> When i import Thai font package "SAPKLTHQ10" using Tcode "SMLT" the system shown error message "TL1277" in define schedule job step.
Message no. TL137
Diagnosis
You want to start the post-import methods for special texts (calendar texts, terminology, and glossary) for language Thai.
Before this can happen, the system checks whether this server is prepared for this language. The system also checks whether the language environment can be switched dynamically on this server (see ABAP command SET LOCAL LANGUAGE).
System response
The system established that the language environment cannot be switched to language Thai.
The language transport is stopped at this point.
Procedure
The switch of the language environment may fail for the following reasons:
1. The database codepage is not up-to-date.
2. The codepage information for language Thai is not up-to-date.
3. Locales for language Thai do not exist, or are invalid, at the operating system level.
4. The profile parameter zcsa/installed_languages has to be adjusted.
If an error occurs, proceed as follows:
1. Find out the name of the server on which the language import job ran. Log on to this server.
2. Check the language configuration using report RSCPINST. Solve the reported problem there.
If your system consists of multiple application servers and not all of them have authorization for language Thai, continue the language import on a server that has authorization for language Thai.
plaese help me to solve this problem.
thank a lot for all solutions.
Mooping. This is a long story that you write, but your problem seems just that you must "Confirm the queue". Is that correct?
Without this step no further Support Packages can be inserted into the system. Confirming the queue is done by one of the buttons in the SPAM transaction. Just put the mouse on the buttons and read the quick help to differentiate between the buttons.
I have never had a problem like this but I think it can happen if, together with the new BI version you also include one or more support packs. This happens automatically if these packages are available, so you may not even have noticed it. -
Error when accessing MIME-Content of emails through EWS
Hello,
i've a problem downloading the mime-content of some emails using exchange web services. Here is the code i'm using:
exService = new ExchangeService();
exService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("user", "password", "domain");
exService.Url = new Uri(@"https://server/ews/Exchange.asmx");
fFolder = this.GetPublicFolder(exService, null, "Test");
ivItem = new ItemView(int.MaxValue);
ivItem.PropertySet = new PropertySet(BasePropertySet.FirstClassProperties, pdbProperties);
ivItem.OrderBy.Add(ItemSchema.DateTimeReceived, SortDirection.Ascending);
fiResults = fFolder.FindItems(ivItem);
foreach (Item iItem in fiResults.Items)
psItem = new PropertySet(BasePropertySet.FirstClassProperties, ItemSchema.MimeContent);
iItem.Load(psItem);
Calling the Load-method throws an Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ServiceResponseException (Errorcode "Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ServiceError.ErrorMimeContentConversionFailed") with errortext "Fehler beim Konvertieren des MIME-Inhalts." ("Error
converting the MIME-content" in english). Both emails have an appointment-attachment, one of them a ICS-file, which is named as "not supported calendar message". I've tried to delete the attachments and access the emails again, but the exception still occures.
With thousands of other mails, the code runs without problems.
I also analysed the messages with Outlook Spy, but i found nothing special, except that the one with the ics-file contains the message class "IPM.Note.NotSupportedICal" (the other is "IPM.Note").
My question is, what can be the reason for this exception, especially for the e-mail without the unsupported attachment? And what can i possibly do to avoid it/to get the mime-content anyway? I'm using the code to export the e-mails as EML-files.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Regards
DanielLWNot sure about the EWS Managed API but with the web services, if you remove the request for the body of the item (<t:FieldURI FieldURI="item:MimeContent"/>) it seems to resolve the issue, since it no longer needs to convert between the
'IPM.Note.NotSupportedICal' (non-Exchange calendar entry?) and 'IPM.Note' classes (a normal email). -
Error while crawling LOB contents SharePoint 2013
Error while crawling LOB contents SharePoint 2013
I have Configured the BDC Service application using SQL external content. The connection was successful and I am able to see the external content in the List "BDC Demo" . But when I search in the BDC Demo site it gives nothing.
So I checked in the crawl logs and identified that it shows " 1 " under error. to further drill down the issue , I went to click on "1" and see the error message : Error while crawling LOB contents SharePoint 2013 .
I have created an external DB named BCSDemo_DB for which I have granted my search Service account read& write permission.
I have added the same account under administrators for both secure store and BCS service applications.
I have done index reset , done a full crawl but the error still occurs.
Can someone please advise if I am missing something.
RegardsHi Aravinda,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you crawled SQL database table in SharePoint 2013.
This error is caused by the fact that the default content access account does not have any rights to access the metadata store in the Business Data Connectivity Service Application.
Or it is caused by the default content access account has no rights on the SQL database.
For fixing it, you need to grant the default content access account permission on metadata store in the Business Data Connectivity Service Application and the SQL database. You can refer to the link below:
http://www.sharepointinspiration.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=5
After that, do a full crawl for the content source.

Wendy

Sharepoint 2013 vs Exchange 2010 SP3 search (Error while crawling LOB contents)
Hi there:
We are trying to solve the problem: ERROR CRAWLING LOB CONTENTS when we wish to search Exchange 2010 SP3 public folder content on Sharepoint 2013 Foundation.
Quick briefing:
Followed this instructions:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj591608(v=office.15).aspx
* Created CRAWL RULE
- Used Domain Admin for content access ---> IS THIS WRONG?
- Domain Admin can access public folder thru Outlook Web Access (checked)
- Included all items in this path
PRINTSCREEN 1
* Added a content source for Exchange Server public folders
- Logged to Outlook Web Access with domain admin, expanded Public folders and opened 1st subfolder in new window and copied the address
- Logged to Outlook Web Access with domain admin, expanded Public folders and opened 2nd subfolder in new window and copied the address
PRINTSCREEN2
* Did a FULL CRAWL
PROBLEM:
- Search results does not throw "correct data". Some items are not being found
CRAWL LOG is reporting: Error while crawling LOB contents
Detailed error message:
https://mail.domain.com/OWA/?ae=Folder&id=PSF.LgAAAAAaRHOQqmYRzZvIAKoAL8RaAwAnt2ed15IATLg8XoXLNj4EAAAAXsN8AAAB&t=IPF.Note
Error while crawling LOB contents.
Error caused by exception: Microsoft.BusinessData.Infrastructure.BdcException
The shim execution failed unexpectedly - Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation..:
System.InvalidOperationException An internal server error occurred.
Try again later.; SearchID = 4E8542D3-48EF-404E-8025-8D9AAEFE777A )
We thought it's a throttling issue / found possible solution:
http://powersearching.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/exchange-public-folders-search-fail-error-while-crawling-lob-contents/
Tried it, still same Error messages, problem not resolved.
Any hints? Please advise.
With best regards
bostjancHi Bostjan,
From the error message, the issue might be caused by throttling policy on Exchange side. And the article you posted provides the right solution, some modification to the solution and please try again.
For throttling policy part
1.Execute the command for Set-ThrottlingPolicy
Set-ThrottlingPolicy SharePoint -RCAMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EWSMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EWSMaxSubscriptions Unlimited -CPAMaxConcurrency Unlimited -EwsCutoffBalance Unlimited -EwsMaxBurst Unlimited -EwsRechargeRate Unlimited
2.Execute the command Get-ThrottlingPolicy SharePoint to double confirm the policy setting has been successfully executed
For registry key part
1. Start Registry Editor (regedit).
2. Navigate to the following registry subkey:
\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
3. Right-click ParametersSystem, point to New, and then click Key.
A new key is created in the console tree.
4. Rename the key MaxObjsPerMapiSession, and then press Enter.
5. Right-click MaxObjsPerMapiSession, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
The new value is created in the result pane.
6. Rename the key to <Object_type>, where <Object_type> is the name of the registry object type that you're modifying. For example, to modify the number of messages that can be opened, use objtMessage. Press Enter.
7. Right-click the newly created key, and then click Modify.
8. In the Value data box, type the number of objects that you want to limit this entry to, and then click OK. For example, type 350 to increase the value for the object.
9. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.
If it still doesn’t help, please check ULS log for related error message.

Error During INSTALL of Application Export File
An error is reported during INSTALL of an application that I am trying to copy (Import/Install) from a "development" Work Space into a "production" Work Space. The production (target) Work Space is on the same HTML DB instance as the development Work Space.
I am receiving the following INSTALL error:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol &quot;,'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)&quot; when expecting one of the following: . ( * @ % &amp; = - + ; &lt; / &gt; at in is mod remainder not rem &lt;an exponent (**)&gt; &lt;&gt; or != or ~= &gt;= &lt;=
Following is some pertinent (hopefully) information:
The above INSTALL error takes exception to part of a Region Select (sql) that works fine in the development Work Space.
The common HTML DB (v1.6) instance is on UNIX.
A new Work Space was created on the same instance.
A new schema name was created during creation of the new Work Space. However, this schema does not point to a database. (We were not certain how to setup the schema to parse to our live database.) I will be running DBLINK upon production application startup in order to access the database objects.
EXPORT INFO -
File Format: UNIX (also, tried DOS but received same error during INSTALL)
IMPORT INFO -
File Type: Application/Page Export
File Character Set: Western European Windows 1252
Target Work Space is newly created on the same HTML DB instance.
INSTALL INFO -
*Parse As Schema: COLLIVE17 (Again, this schema does not parse to a database. I intend to use DBLINK.)
*Build Status: Run and Build Application
Please refer to above error message.
Again, any insights or suggestions are appreciated.Urgently need help! I've read several other Forum messages having a related problem but none having same Install error message.
Again, my Export/Import from development Workspace to production Workspace is successful. The following error is reported when I attempt to "Install" into the production Workspace:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol &quot;,'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)&quot; when expecting one of the following: . ( * @ % &amp; = - + ; &lt; / &gt; at in is mod remainder not rem &lt;an exponent (**)&gt; &lt;&gt; or != or ~= &gt;= &lt;=
The "snippet" of Region Sql Select code that relates to the reported error is:
ELSE htmldb_item.display_and_save (5, DECODE (GET_GRADE_B93 (sac.stc_final_grade,sac.stc_verified_grade),'18','AU','1','A','3','B','4','C','7','CR','5','D','46','DR','6','F','47','FW','49','IB','30','IC','31','ID','23','IF','44','MW','9','NC','21','RD','14','RD0','33','RD1','32','RD2','34','RD3','35','RD4','36','RD5','37','RD6','38','RD7','39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W'),'GRADE_'||ROWNUM) END q_v_grade,
HTML DB version is: 1.6.0.00.67. I've also tried to Export/Import/Install the application into the "same" Workspace specifying the same schema, and only changing the Application ID. However, I get the same Install error (see above).
Any suggestions on things to try in order to get application into production is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bernard. -
TS2972 An Error Occurred Loading This Content Please Try Again Later
This seems to be a pretty common issue that many of us users are having. But mine is a bit different...
I had had no problem at all in the first 3 months of using my ATV, but then all of a sudden during a Tv Show i was watching via Home Sharing the error appeared, mid show!
I have tried exiting to the main menu, restarting, rebooting anything and everything connected to eitehr my laptop, ATV, Router and TV.
All of the files are mp4s and open in itunes no problem, and if I load them on to my iPad and start watching through the TV from the iPad's AirPlay it works fine.
Some files work sometimes but not other times, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some work when others don't.
Has anyone got any ideas of what the problem is and how I can fix it?!I bought Flight and have never been able to watch it. Get the same error message every time.
"An error occurred loading this content. Please try again later."
How do I get a refund? Anyone know? -
Rented movies on ATV2, can't play- An error occurred loading this content.
When I attempt to play the two movies on ATV (Gen 2) I rented, I receive the error:
An error occurred loading this content. Try again later.
No other messages display, and it is not clear what to do next, or how to fix this issue.
I tried the following to solve:
- latest updates for ATV (I'm on version 4.2.1(2100))
- unplugging power, then plugging back in
- stop "Home Share" on ATV, then turn back on
- log out of iTunes account on ATV, then log back in
I've yet to try:
- reset on the ATV (on the General menu)
- setting back to factory defaults (on the General menu)
I have not tried the above two, since the ATV is 2 days old and honestly did not think I needed to do this.
I have two Windows computers, one with Vista, one with version 7. Both have iTunes 10.2.1.1 installed. I have iTunes "Home Sharing on" for both computers, including the ATV. I can see my iTunes library on the ATV and play music; I can also play iTunes radio just fine with the ATV. I've been able to access my NetFlix account and stream movies just fine with NetFlix.
I was able to purchse the movies, but not able to play on the ATV; thus, I seem to be able to get to iTunes since I could at least rent movies.
Is there anything major to double check to make sure I've set everything up right? The book that came with ATV looked pretty plug-n-play, but I cannot get this to work (playing videos). I also have an iPhone that I just purchased- I've plugged this into the Vista computer to do sync's and get updates, but don't have it plugged in on a reqular basis.
What am I missing to try and troubleshoot?
Thanks much!I bought apple tv a few weeks ago. It worked to start with but was very slow and not really usable as when you picked a movie it would take anything from 20 mins to 6 hours to start. I assumed it would to memory but it doesn't so you have to sit and wait for it to start which renders it completely useless.
Then came a software update about a week ago. Since then it no longer loads rented movies. After I have paid for the movie it says press play. After that it says "unable to load content, try later"
I emailed apple support. They dont know what the problem is so they refunded my money and removed the films from my apple tv.
Apple also asked questions About my iTunes version etc which is completely stupid as this has nothing to do with itunes as apple tv is 100% independant and designed as a stand alone device.
My advise- I will get a refund and use the money to buy apple tv 1 from ebay as it has a hard drive and loads movies in the background rather than using a stream. -
Apple TV and Home Sharing "An error occurred loading this content"
Recently I moved and switched my homeshare library from my Mac to a Window8 PC. I'm running the same network equipent, but the bandwidth to the internet was less in the new place then the old one so I wanted to store more on the PC. My bandwidth to the internet is slow at times so I like to download to my PC and watch the shows on my appletv. I thought it might be a Windows 8 issue, but I powered up my Mac Pro (2008) again and it has the same problem. I thought it might be a WIFI issue so I ran network wires, same issue. The only new thing I can think that happened was the apple tvs recently took a SW update, I'm not sure what version they had before. (tend not too look at versions when things are working).
What I know:
All the shows play fine when I stream. (they can just take a 5-10m to start due to internet bandwidth, but they play fine).
Some shows play fine with homesharing (I have found no common thread between ones that do and don't).
All shows play fine on my PC in iTunes
Between my 2 AppleTvs (both running version 6.1) It is consistent which shows will play in home sharing and which will not. There have been a couple shows that will play on one but not the other and a couple shows that won't play one day but will the next day.
I have tried playing a show that will not play over and over for 10m. The status remains the same.
If the show has an option to resume playing or start from beginning. I'll be asked "Resume/Start over" first then be told "An error occurred loading this content"
The first time I try and play a show it takes 5-10 seconds to give me an error, repeat attempts typically take < 1 second to show the error.
Most shows on both my AppleTVs with home sharing return an error "An error occurred loading this content". I've tried running network wires, rebooting, holding menu and shift down to reboot, pulling power. I have examined the files that play versus ones that do not and they all appear to be in good working order. As an example. Episode 1, Season 2 of Big bang theroy plays fine, but Eposodes 2-5 don't, but then Episodes 6-8 do play ok. I find the same problem with Movies and Music Videos.
Setup Facts:
Asus Wireless Router is connected to my DSL modem into the Ausus router WAN port. The ASUS router creates a network 192.168.1.X my DSL has a 192.168.0.1 IP address.
On the AppleTV it has a valid IP address and I'm fairly confident the network is ok since I have NO issues streaming any shows from the internet via Music, TV shows, Movies, Hulu, Netflicks, etc.
PC is running Windows 8 and I've disabled all power reduction settings to be always ON. (Again some shows play fine, the ones that play seem to always play). Running itunes version 11.1.5.5
All the shows are ones I've downloaded iTunes. None of the shows are handbraked home videos.
AppleTV version 6.1 for both AppleTVs.
What I've tried:
Power Clearing Devices
Switching locations of Apple TV with different TVs
Trying Mac Pro and Windows 8 Home Shares
WiFi and networked
Changing HDMI Cables.
Every TV I have, 1: Sony (new), 1 LG (about 2 yers old), 1 Samsung (about 5 years old).
Any Adivce?I have it working now.. BUT I still don't have 100% on both appleTVs. I'd guess it's closer to 99% (which is a huge improvement).
What I've done since:
First I verified that I had open on my firewall the correct ports. I use AVG Internet security so verified I had it setup ok. (this was after I tried a few times with it off). (this produced no improvement)
TCP
direction both ways
local ports 3689
remove port(s): all
remote addresses:all
UDP
direction both ways
local ports 5353
remove port(s): all
remote addresses:all
Might have been over kill, but I assigned both AppleTVs a fixed IP 192.168.0.200 and 201. by their MAC address on my router. I then added them to the whitelist in AVG Internet Security
I saved changes and rebooted my PC, AppleTVs and PCs
It still didn't work. (I described the above because when I tried removing them no shows played, so more an FYI if 100% of your shows don't play).
I then downloaded itunes (11.5) same version I was running.
I used 7-zip (winrar should work too) to unzip the file iTunes64Setup.exe into a folder iTunes64Setup. This is important, which I'll explain in the next steps.
I then ran the iTunes64Setup.exe and selected repair.
it then told me it could not find iTunes64.msi. which I gave it the directory iTunes64Setup that I had expanded the iTunes64Setup.exe into that directory. (Really apple??? This one anoyed me that it was in the EXE but I had to manually expand it and put it somewhere for you to refind )
It completed the setup and I rebooted my PCs and AppleTVs again.
I went to a show that was consistently not playing and it worked on both TVs. I'd say 99% are working fine now. What's special about the remaining shows I do not know. If the file was corrupt I would not expect to be able to play it on another appletv.
The few files that don't play:
I'm now convienced that my network is fine. with 99% playing ok. If it was an intermitent problem with the network I'd expect that re-attempts to play the shows would produce different outcomes.
What have I tried:
I've done a factory reinstall of the appleTV. (my advise is don't waste you time, it did nothing except eat up 30m of my time watching redownload and then entering passwords).
I've tried deleting the shows that don't play (which do play on my computer) and redownloading them (same outcome) (again, my advice would be don't waste your time). When I did a check of the files they redownloaded identically with only the creation dates different.
Open to move things to try. Any ideas anyone?
