Error in creating views

Hi all,
Whenever i tried to create a view in finuser An ora:01031 insufficient priviliges occurs. So i decided to give privilege from sys user but i find the following error... can anybody resolve this error its very urgent....
grant create any view to finuser
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01401: inserted value too large for column
ORA-06512: at line 2

The only thing you can do right now is
alter session set sql_trace=true and repeat the action. The recursive statement should show up in the trace file.
If that doesn't work you can try
alter session set events='1401 dump errorstack, level 1'
and see if you get a trace file.
The other thing you should do is go to your manager, and ask to buy Metalink.
You won't get any upgrades without Metalink and 10.2.0.1 is not exactly bug free.

where is your 'TaskDefinition:Old Framework_SRW Type 1 Approval Workflow' objcet, have you imported that workflow into Idm or check the name.

Error while creating view

I am trying to create view which is based on multiple source tables and I am receiving following error
Internal error: An expression services limit has been reached. Please look for potentially complex expressions in your query, and try to simplify them.

The problem could be a SAPGUI related problem... Whats the current sapgui patch level ? Does it work when you try on another wokstation with the same user ?
Could you please use SAPGUI 720 and update your patch level to 7 ? Then check the behaviour again.

ASIF_SELECT is a database use with select privilege on some table and have roles CONNECT & RESOURCE, after log on if he execute following statement, there is no problem, but when he try to create view of that it give ORA-01031 insufficient privilege error, and show * on general_information.cb_region_fo d .

As you said SELECT ANY TABLE privilege works fine and, so i suppose you have create view privilege and you can create view.
If you have create view privilege and still you can't create then read bellow.

general_information.cb_region_fo dYou are referencing two tables/view in this statement. I suspect one of them is a view, please let us know which one is view(or both are views). This view references another table and on which ASIF_SELECT should have select privilege, right?
In this case, find out the tables involved in above view(s) and grant owner of this view the "select privilege with grant option"
suppose core_business.cb_contr_emp_pmt_slip is a view involving a table "user1.table1"
You should grant rights on user1.table1 to core_business as follows
grant select on user1.table1 to core_business
grant select on core_business.cb_contr_emp_pmt_slip to ASIF_SELECT;Now user ASIF_SELECT will be able to create a view while querying core_business.cb_contr_emp_pmt_slip.

What has happened?

Error while creating views

Hi all,
Im creating a view with 2 CO tables(COSP &COSS),i gv join conditions as OBJNR,WRTTP,KSTAR,MANDT. after this i selected tab View/Fields then i selected my table COSP,wherein i selected the other fields which i want,then i saved and did a check and finally activated it.But after activation i get a error that all "<b>Fields are Evaluated as Key fields "</b> <b>The View ignores client dependency of the base tables.</b> After that i saw all the fields in View Flds tab are Checked as Keyfields.Please advice how to solve this error.

Hi BI,
The first one is a warning and the second one is an error. The error can be cleared by including the MANDT field in the view from one of the tables. The warning "Fields are Evaluated as Key fields" is because, you have not included all the key fields of the base tables in the view. I mean to say if you include all the key fields from COSP and COSS, you can get rid of this warning. The warning means... since you did not select all the key fields of the base tables of the view, all the display fields of the view are treated as key fields. That is why you see all the fields marked as key fields. You can ignore the warning if you are getting all the required records in the view. Otherwise, include all the key fields from both the tables and the other fields can be deselected as key fields. Hope this helps.

I was try to create genric extracter where i was getting error
While creating view genric extracter where i am getting error "Entry A ZV_ZFRT does not exist in DD02L - check your entry".
My requirement is need to create extracter which is getting populated from three modules like SD,MM,FI/CO.From these three module i am using several tables and some of the tables don't have relation btween these tables as like foreign key and refrence key.
Which extracter i need to create as given scenario?
Does view will fullfill with my requirement or any other extracter.
Please some one can help me in this scenario.

Hi,
Rather than writing a program write a function module. Create a structure and include all the necessary fields in the structure. Then in the function module write the logic to extract the values for those fields. While creating the datasource specify the function module and structure name.

Hi!
There are further ICF nodes and services to be activated to use the view editor.
If this is a test/development system simply activate all nodes and services under node sap.
1. enter transaction code SICF and select services
2. right click top node and choose deactivate service -> all services and nodes will be deactivated
3. again right click the same node and choose activate service
4. IMPORTANT: in the upcoming popup choose "yes, all" (the button in the middle) and not just yes (the left button)
5. problems in view editor should be history for you

Error while creating a list view

Hi Friends,
When I try to create a new view for a list, I get this error message:
"This view cannot be displayed because it exceeds the list view threshold (5000 items) enforced by the administrator.
To view items, try selecting another view or creating a new view. If you do not have sufficient permissions to create views for the list, ask your administrator to modify the view so that it conforms to the list view threshold"
I tried to apply filters for the list to reduce down the results but still the same problem.
I'm very keen for an answer to this question. I've researched a lot but couldn't find any help. Your advice will be much appreciated.

a. introduce more filters to reduce the number of items in your view
b. ask your admin to modify the default value ( isn't a suitable option, because will affect your farm's performaces )

Recieving ORA-01722 invalid number error while creating a materialized view

This error occurs when you try to create a materialized view , but if you run the sql the results are perfectly fine. Well it happend to me also and to fix this I made sure all the coulmns have the same data type which are used in joins or in where clause.
use

to_number(col1)=to_number(col2) and to_number(col3)=to_number(col4)
