Error in ESS Szenario leave request after rejecting leave

Hi folks,
we getting an error in the ESS leave request application with using the workflow (WS12300111).
We have EP7 SP11 wit ESS/MSS 600 SP7 (for ERP2005) . All ESS/MSS services/webdynpros are deployed without errors.
If an employee takes holiday with the leave request and the manager rejects this leave request, a work item is created in the UWL box of the employee. Processing this work item leads to the following error:
Application error occurred during request processing. Details:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: The requested deployable object 'com.sap/ess~lea' and application 'LeaveRequest' are not deployed on the server. Please check the used URL for typos.

But the application is ready deployed (the employee take this appl- to create the leave request
In the ERp2005 / HCM customizing, transaction SWFVISU the approval task TS12300097 uses application "LeaveRequestApprover" is working fine.
TS12300116 uses application "LeaveRequest" leads to this error... :-(((
Does any body have an Idea ??

Hi Mark,
yes something like that - we solved this with a tipp from OSS/ SAP..
Using transaction SWFVISU, check the following entries and correct
these
where required:
TS12300097 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequestApprover
---> CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea
TS12300116 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequest
>CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea
The WF item who was running o.k. (check leave request) had the wrong entries :
TS12300097 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequestApprover
---> CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea -> was com.sap ...
After changing this to sap.com -> the other service who had the error
runs now O.K. !! This problem was only on the EP7 system SP12 and
ESS/MSS SP8..other Portal system with NW7SP11 ESS/MSS SP6 had this
error not...

ESS Leave Request - creating a Leave Request for another employee

Hi,
We're working on ECC6 + EP7 + ESS/MSS Leave Request scenario
and we've a problem about "substitution". Not the substitution for dealing with somebody else workitems in UWL, but "substitution" for "acting" like somebody else.
We want to authorize an assistant to enter a leave request in place of an other employee.
as if this assistant were connected in ESS/LaavRequest with the user of the employee.
To explain, in 46c/ITS620, our scenario was the following :
- We modified the SAP standard internet service Leave Request to add a combo box, so when the assistant connected to the ITS page with her user, she had a list of all employees.
- we modified the SAP standard to change the variables containing the connected user information, so the creation of an absence request was made for the user selected in the list.
We want to keep this possibility in the new ESS.
Any idea if something exists in the SAP standard ?

This scenario is not available in ESS, ie This kind of functionality is not available from ESS
But you can achieve it using your added link In MSS > General information
there you have many services for individual employees

Difference in ITS Leave request and WebDynpro Leave request

Hello,
Whats the difference between ITS based leave request and webdynpro based leave request.
I read that in webdynpro based leave request there is a need for new workflow, other than what is being used in ITS based leave request. If for some period of time both are in place then will it create some kind of problem ?
Can anybody help me on this. Thanks in adv.

V Cast Apps Error Message "Unable to complete request" after updating software

Purchased the Samsung Droid Charge last week. I really like the phone, but I'm running into an error message.
When I click on the V Cast Apps icon, I'm directed to install an update, otherwise I can't use the software. So I click to update, the download occurs just fine, the install happens fine, and I accept the terms and conditions. As the software begins to open, I receive the following message:
Error: Unable to complete request
There are three boxes to choose from, Retry, Catalog home, and Exit. Retry and Catalog do not respond at all, so I can only exit. I've tried installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache etc. I also made sure I have the most recent Android software which I believe I do,

I've read the previous posts, but I'm not finding much in terms of answers. I recall seeing something about an updated APK but I don't know really what that is about. I would appreciate any assistance or tips you can offer.

As I previously stated, yes, I did uninstall & reinstall. Actually a few times.
4G, with 18MB download speeds. Also tried on Wi-Fi.

Error while employee accessing the rejected leave request workitem in UWL

I am getting this following error while employee accessing his rejected leave request workitem in UWL.
Leave application is working properly to place the leave request and to approve the request, But am getting this below error when employee try to open the rejected leave request workitem through UWL.
Application error occurred during request processing.
Details: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: Wrong WebDynpro-URL: no application name specified

Unable to process leave request due to WORKFLOW Status in ERROR in ESS Portal.

Dear Experts,
I'm facing an issue with the leave request of an user. The user has applied leave a week ago but still it has not got auto approved.While analyzing the database of leave request in PTARQ, it has been found that the WORKFLOW STATUS is in ERROR and the DOCUMENT STATUS is in SENT condition.
Kindly help me in this case.

Hi surendha,
That particular leave request might have gone into error because of worklfow issue at the point of time.
You can simply check with workflow if any issue with workflow was there in that tenure , leave request was being raised,
Now solution is to delete the leave request from PTARQ which is in SENT status and workflow is errored out.
Also take that work item id and get it deleted by workflow consultant (T code SWI5).
Once that leave request/work item got deleted , ask user to again apply leave and it would go to manager for approval.
Once leave request is approved, leave request would be in Posted status and will get updated in IT 2001.

Leave request ITS end of session error

Hi,
There are few users who are a getting a error saying "End Of Session Thank you for working with the Internet Transaction Server! " when they tried to access leave request ( ws20000081) and leave request overview ( ws01000109). this error is coming to particular cost center users, all other users doesn't have this problem. furthermore we have given the auth as well.
For these particular users they have been performing ESS tasks before and this issue came 3weeks back.
i checked the HR org structure nothing has been changed. please help

ESS Auto Approval Leave Request

Goodday all,
I'. trying to create a WF which will have a step tp auto approve a leave request after 5 days of submission to the approver. I have made a copy of the standard WF12300011 and have included 'modeled deadline monitoring' step just before 'request approved?' step. This is where i'm stuck, once teh deadline is obsolete, i will need to create a new step to automatically change the REQ.STATUS to 'Posted' OR 'Approved'. How do i do this step? or is there a better way to do things? Thanks in advance

1. As you said that you hvae a copy of the standard workflow so when the Modeled Deadline monitoring is reached any ways a outcome will be included in the WF template , so what you can do is in that outcome you include a Activity which uses the method of conatiner element REQ which will have the current request instance
REQ type is cl_pt_req_wf_attribs so in this class you hvae a method with name APPROVE so use this mehtod in the Activity that you will create in the modeled deadline monitoring outcome. this will approve the request and when ever the report RPTARQPOST is executeed the approved request will be posted into the respective infotypes.
If you hvae any more queries plz let me know, because i also had the same issue and i fixed that in the above mentioned way.

From- To Time in ESS Leave Request

In leave request, for certain leaves I have opted for that from and to time. Now that value gets defualted to 12AM to 12AM. is there a way I can default some other time, say the work timing of that employee as per his/her WSR?

You can default Work Schedule rule times in the leave request
You can use feature
HRSIF for this functionality. Please read the feature documentation
and check customisation in V_PTRAQ_PROCESS.
Depeding on your requirement you can decide how to use
PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK ie hours field or the clock times.
That means you need to clear the time fields which are derived
from the work schedule

Customisation of ESS Leave Request

Dear All,
We have a requirement to carry a validation whenever an employee makes leave request as LWP( Leave Without pay) from the portal.The validation has to be done by comparing with the leave quota, this means the employee can only apply LWP when his leave quota got exhausted.so we are able to acheive this from R/3(include ZXPADU02) but the same is not triggering from the portal.
Through SPRO settings we found one BADI implementation CL_PT_ARQ_REQ for leave request
Kindly let us know in which method we have to carry out the validation through programming .

2. Create a new badi implementation .

Leave Request Not Appearing in UWL for Manager

Hi,
We have a strange issue where leave requests are not appearing in the UWL for a specific manager. We have checked with other managers and the leaves are appearing in their UWLs and they are able to process their employee's leaves without any issue.
For the manager not seeing the leave in their UWL, I have confirmed the following:
1) Proper manager defaults in 'approver' field in ESS and employee is able to send leave request without issue
2) Manager receives email to process employees leave request after RPTARQEMAIL program runs
3) Leave is reaching the manager's business workplace in R/3 so this verifies workflow is working and the leave is being directed to proper manager for approval
4) Proper roles have been assigned to manager and verified in PRD
*Also, the leaves were appearing in the manager's UWL at one point but no longer appearing. This makes it more confusing!
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas as to what may have happened?
Any feedback would be greatly appreicated!

We transported our ESS/MSS changes from the DEV client to STG client. I have verifiied the follwoing settings in STG:
1) SWU3 - all connections are green.
2) Workflow template and tasks - all are assigned as general task with agents assigned
3) Configuration in SAP contains the correct WF template for leave processing
4) UWL has been regenerated
I am able to submit a leave request under ESS user. I check workflow and it shows leave has been submitted and waiting for Manager to approve step.
However, under MSS user the leave request is not showing up in the UWL. All configuration on backend and the items noted above have been verified.
Is there configuration or a connection on the portal side that I need to check? Or anywhere else? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Leave request Workflow ids Ids WS12300111 ,WS12400005

I am on ECC 50 and Portal 7.0. I am using the copy of standard workflows
1) WS12300111 copied to WS90100002 ( Create Leave request)
2) WS12400005 copied to WS 90100003( Cancel leave request)
in ESS.
My questions are as below
1) In Processing process for types of leave in IMG, which worklfows do i enter in each section
a) WF ID of New Request ( i have entered ZWS12300111 )
b) WF ID of Cancellation Request ( i have entered ZWS12400005 )
c) WF ID of Change Request( i dont know what to enter here, should it be same as ZWS12300111 )
2) Secondly the workflow ZWS12400005 does not get triggered when i delete the leave request ( approved, rejected) though i have set up the leave for approvals for cancellation.
3) When i reject the leaves, the work item "Process requeest by employee" comes and sits in UWL. If i click, it open the leave request screen, where in the old values are not present ( like dates for which i had applied leave). If i change the dates and send for approval, the workitem goes to managers inbox, but the work item "process request by employee" still sits in employee inbox. This is happening only in case of rejected leaves when employee uses the same workitem to re apply for leave.

Issue in Deletion of approved leave request using ws12300111

We are using Std workflow 12300111 and its working fine for new leave request and change leave request but when raise request for deletion of approved leave request the workitem created and info type updated automatically without seeking approval from manager. When you check the workflow log the agent determination happend and updated the info type 2001. This issue is in production system , At the same time if we tested the same scenario in QAS its working fine, ie its asking approval from Manager.
Pl help on this issue.

This is correct and intended functionality, NO WF IS triggered.
Let me explain, There is no WF triggered when APPROVED (NOT POSTED)
absence is deleted. This is standard, You can trigger a mail
which You had already done so. But there will be no WF triggered.
So if you notice
when the leave request is in status POSTED, it calls the workflow,
but if the leave request is not POSTED yet, it is doesnt call the
workflow.
There is no standard Workflow triggered when the Approved leave request
has been deleted by the employee!
This step should be configured by the customers as when to trigger a
mail to the Admin or Supervisor, when deletion or cancellation happens.
The workflow template is a simple template, You can modify
to suit their needs.

Error after second level approval in ESS leave request

Hi Experts
I am using custom workflow for Ess Leave request process which is copied from WS21500001.
I have added custom class methods to change status from approved to sent.
Then another method i have set next appovaer.
The problem i m facing is that I am getting an error on portal after second approval approves the request.
i.e Field syomol has not been assigned yet.
from st22 i found its generating from
Include LPT_ARQ_REQUEST_UIAF06 - Form   execute_approver_update
By debugging i found that Its not getting next approval with status T as there is only first approval with status 'A'
This results in unassigned field symbol. and then error.
Please help me resolve this issue.

I checked why it was giving a dump.
This execute_approver_update subroutine takes approval data from table ptreq_approver .
I filled this with resp actor id after request is approved and status is changed to sent.
For every emp its unique actor id is saved in ptreq_actor table agaist his pernr.
   SELECT SINGLE actor_id FROM PTREQ_ACTOR INTO actor_id WHERE objid = nextApprover_pernr.
    wa_appr-mandt = sy-mandt.
    wa_appr-request_id = Request_ID. "Req.requestID ( from Workflow )
    wa_appr-version_no = version_no. "Req.Version ( from Workflow )
    wa_appr-seqnr = seqnr. "Same as version no but in char
    wa_appr-approver_ins = actor_id. "Employee actor id from ptreq_actor
    wa_appr-status = 'T'. "Manual
    append wa_appr to it_appr.
    INSERT PTREQ_APPROVER FROM TABLE it_appr .
    commit work and wait.
This resolved my issue.

which version do you have?
I have ECC 5.0 and problem I solved in SWFVISU transaction, for TS12300097 parameters, changing to package sap.com/ess~lea.
By default is 'com.sap.xss.hr.lea.appl/LeaveRequestApprover' and this is the problem, in UWL xml configuration, package pointing is sap.com/ess~lea.
Check this, and comment the results,
