Error in Invoking External Web Service in BPEL

Hello,
I have a Temperature Conversion Web Service deployed on an external server.
I want to invoke this Web Service in my BPEL process.
I got the wsdl loacation of the Web Service as "http://webservices.daelab.net/temperatureconversions/TemperatureConversions.wso?WSDL" and then in my workspace, I created a Web Service out of that WSDL.
My idea was to create a web service out of that WSDL and then to deploy that web service on SOA server so that i can invoke that deployed service in my BPEL process, but when i am creating a web service out of that WSDL , and trying to test the webservice in my local oc4j, i am gettting a fault exception.
Am i doing anything wrong ? Is there any other alternative to call a external web service in BPEL?

Hi,
you are on the wrong track....
Open your BPEL. Put the http://webservices.daelab.net/temperatureconversions/TemperatureConversions.wso?WSDL into a PartnerLink and wire an invoke against this PartnerLink....
Put the parameters via assign into the variables.
Done...
Why do you want to create an interal webservice and invoke this one via BPEL? Do you want to invoke the external webservice from the internal one?

Hi,
Without more information, it will be hard to help, and tell you what could be teh issue.
Usually, this kind of error occurs when the payload and the WSDL schema are out of sync, for example if the order of the element on the wire do not match the order in a sequence declaration, you may get this error.
In such case, .NET handle the XML as if it was a 'all' -- no specific order -- and deserialize the message properly.

I am able to hit external ws from soap ui and getting response but while calling from soa suite getting this error.

WS Binding: exception durign SOAP invocation: java.util.NoSuchElementException
Looks like the error is in the data sent to or expected from the service in your composite. Check that audit logs and composite flow to make sure your soap message when using soapui matches what you are working with in soa suite.

How can I call external web service from BPEL

1. I have "EmpService" webservice (simple webservice to get emp salary, not in BPEL domain) running in Oracle AS host1. If I want to call this web service from BPEL in another host2. How can I do this?
2. Is it a must to deploy this EmpService to Oracle BPEL domain in order to call it? If so, how can I deploy it. As many BPEL example tutorial demonstrate the "obant" command to deploy the BPEL process, but not show how to deploy a external web service not in BPEL project. Please help. ...

Invoking Imaging Web Service from BPEL is failing

My Env is on latest 11g 11.1.1.8.
I am trying to invoke the Imaging Web Services (http://host:port/imaging/ws/ApplicationService?wsdl)deployed in another Weblogic Server from Bpel. When I tried to invoke this web service with out security credentials it was failing due to access issue.
I tried invoking the imaging web service by following below steps.
Added oracle/wss_http_token_client_policy for Imaging Web service Reference.
Added these properties in Composite for the reference binding as below.

I don't think it is failing due to access issue, I think it is failing because one of the parts is NOT configured to use WS-AT (WS-Atomic Transactions)...

Invoking Asynchronous Web Service from BPEL Process

Hi,
I have been working on the BPEL Process Manager for some time and now facing problem in invoking asynchronous web service from a BPEL Process. I have implemented a web service in Java using Axis but wasn't able to invoke it.
I have gone through all the meterial available on this site but couldn't get any great help.
Can some one help me in resolving this issue. A pointer to any example or sample material/tutorial will be appreciated.

I do the same thing.
Take wsdl from axis and save it somewhere.
Then you can create a standard project in Oracle BPEL PM. Create partnerlink, give a name and click on first icon to take your wsdl. It will add some needed code, you answer always yes. Then you can create receive, assign, invoke, assign and callback or similar and deploy it.
Try it through BPEL Console...

i am passing all the parameters..then also it is giving the error.i have used the wsdl file to generate the stubs (using wsdl2java tool).the web service is in remote system.

1. Does your network have a proxy ? - if so, configure the proxy details in the SOAP adapter.
2. Does the WS expect any credentials? - if so configure the same in the adapter.

Yes, both of these can be done.
EDQ's export capabilities can be summarized as follows:
- Export to pretty much any kind of file, including (but not limited to) delimited text files, fixed width text files, XML (in virtually any format), Excel files, binary files etc.
- Export to pretty much any kind of database (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, DB2 for iSeries, Access, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.)
- Write to a message queue via JMS
- Respond to a web service request
EDQ does not normally call update APIs directly, though it can be made to do so.
Web services can be called in the middle of an EDQ process where required - examples where this has been done include calling a Dun and Bradstreet web service to enhance company data, and calling e-business suite web services.

Error while invoking a Web service deployed on OC4J from Oracle BPEL

I had created a web service from a simple java class using JDeveloper and deployed that on OC4J which had emmited a wsdl for the web service. On the same AS my BPEL processing is deployed in which i had created a partner link by using 1st option (i.e Browse WSDL files from local file system) and invoking the published method of the java class.I am expecting that the method of the class which is deployed as web service will be executed and i will get the return of the method as the response of the invoke activity , but i am getting this error :

Error while invoking secure web service.

I am trying to access a secure web service through a simple BPEL process in SOA Suite 11g. When I test it through enterprise manager I am getting the following error. Since it's a secured websecure i set the WS policy(oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy) in the external reference and also provided the credentials. If anyone has come across similar error or know the solution please let me know. Also I am not sure if its related to security or is it with the way I am trying to call the service.

Thanks very much for your suggestion. I will take a look into the wsdl again and see if something is wrong in that.
I have a peculiar problem with the wsdl. When I created the partner link using the remote wsdl it would throw a compilation error. But when I took a local copy of the remote wsdl and seperated all the schema's from the wsdl and imported them inside wsdl it gets compiled. But I am not sure if this is a appropriate thing to do and if that is creating this problem. Any thoughts on this would be really helpful.

TimeOut Issue in invoking Synchronous Web Service in BPEL.

There is one BPEL process which is calling third party web service synchronously but sometimes my requests get failed in 30 sec giving the following error:-
*"oracle.fabric.common.FabricInvocationException: Unable to access the following endpoint(s): https://aaa.bb.cc.dd/abc/def/xyz"*
When I checked this in soa_server1-diagnostic.log, I found that it is giving some Read Time Out error.
Currently following settings are there on the server:-
syncMaxWaitTime = 45 sec
EJB Time Out:- 300 sec
JTA Timeout:- 360 sec
If there is no setting of 30 sec then why my partner link is failing in 30 sec. Morever the intresting point is that although It is giving some Exception but it is performing the operations successfully. Due to this exception rest of my BPEL does not work.
Please provide me the pointer how to increase the Read time out and is there any relation between httpReadTimeout (Defined in composite for Partner Link) and syncMaxWaitTime.

Goto console-> select domain> Configuration->JTA
Check timeout seconds.
2. i don't know what kind of partner link you are invoking.
check composite.xml, is there any property like retry.interval .
3. ◦SyncMaxWaitTime: The maximum time a request and response operation takes before timing out.
The maximum time a request/response operation will take before it times out. The default value is 45 seconds.

Error while testing External Web Service Integration

I'm getting an error when I try to test an external webservice from Studio. After performing the steps to create an external webservice integration with SOAP, When I right-click on the .wsid file and choose "Test Service Operations" and chose the communication scenario and submit request, I get an error "A technical error error occured AP-RC-BDS-WS".
I'm not able to call the service visa the ABSL script as well. When I debug, I get an error in the response CommFault as,
"SoapfaultCode: 5 Server Error."
I'm able to successfully test the web service from SOAPUI.

Notes
The program fails at following line of code -

Web services are SSL.
The WSDL is at https location and needs username/password for access. The username/password to access WSDL are set using UTL_DBWS.SET_PROPERTY
To access the SSL site, I have imported the CA in Oracle Wallet, JVM home and JDK home.
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here. I am not able to even establish connection to web service host.
This is very frustrating - Oracle has no examples on how to access a SSL Web Service (that needs authentication) from Database.
This is effecting our project deadlines ......... any help would be greatly appreciated.

I presume your Web Service needs HTTP (BASIC?) Authentication.
All this needs is setting the following 2 properties, which as can be seen, you are setting....
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'USERNAME', '<username>');
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'PASSWORD', '<pwd>');
This should work as long as your DBWS Callout Utility was downloaded from OTN after June 2008, and it's version is atleast 10.1.3.1.
Following is a sample code snippet that was tested successfully for this :
