Error in my SQL Query

Following is my query
SELECT *
FROM xxrb_requisitions_in_stage
where message_type =
decode(:message_type,'NEWBUY','NEWBUY',
'REPAIR','REPAIR',
'NEWBUY,REPAIR','(SELECT MESSAGE_TYPE FROM xxrb_requisitions_in_stage WHERE MESSAGE_TYPE IN (NEWBUY,REPAIR))');
in the above case if the message type is 'NEWBUY,REPAIR' Then it should take the values according to the select statement
Please help me correct the above SQL

The reason i didn't follow maher solution for a reason ->
SELECT *
FROM   xxrb_requisitions_in_stage
WHERE  MESSAGE_TYPE IN DECODE (:MESSAGE_TYPE,
                               'NEWBUY', 'NEWBUY',
                               'REPAIR', 'REPAIR',
                               'NEWBUY,REPAIR', MESSAGE_TYPE
AND    MESSAGE_TYPE IN ('NEWBUY', 'REPAIR')Is there a possibility when the table data contain any other message_type along with ('NEWBUY', 'REPAIR') ?
If this is not the case, then no other message type listed in that decode will able to produce the output - i guess. I don't have any option to test it. But, it looks like the reason for failure.
Or, you may have to remove the last outer message_type provided that should support your functional explanation.
So, that query should look like ->
SELECT *
FROM   xxrb_requisitions_in_stage
WHERE  MESSAGE_TYPE IN DECODE (:MESSAGE_TYPE,
                               'NEWBUY', 'NEWBUY',
                               'REPAIR', 'REPAIR',
                               'NEWBUY,REPAIR', :MESSAGE_TYPE
                              );N.B.: Not Tested....
