Error in Numbers ?

Hi,
I have encountered an error in Numbers and am not sure what i'm doing wrong.
Description:
1.Open a new numbers document
2.Enter "1" in "B2 and "41,1" in "C2"
3. goto "D2" and enter this "=(100-(B2*60+C2))"
4. When pressing enter i get "-1,09999999999999"
obviously it should be "-1,1"
it happens only with certain numbers.
In step three you can change the "100" with any integer number from 92 to 111" and it still happens.
What did i do wrong ?

You have not done anything wrong. It is the result of floating point math that follows the IEEE standard. Decimal numbers are not precisely represented in binary-math computers and very small errors may result. The error in your example is on the order of 6E-15, a very very tiny amount relative to the size of the numbers in the formula. Apple chose to stick strictly to the IEEE standard, which means no massaging of the result "to meet customer expectations". In many cases it is confusing to those who are not familiar with the errors of floating point math. In some cases, the "massaging" done in other applications can introduce errors of its own.
The same formula, arranged in a different order, can result in slightly different answers. For instance, your formula rearranged as =(100-C2 -(B2*60)) gives you the result of -1.100000000000000.
The "fix" is to round your result to the desired number of decimal places.

Solution
Check your Customizing settings:
In the IMG check the settings for
Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting Global Settings -> ...:
Settings for the company code:
... -> Company Code -> Activate extended withholding tax:
1. Is the extended withholding tax activated for the company code?
(Indicator: Extended withholding tax - yes )
Caution!
If the extended withholding tax is not activated, you should not activate this under any circumstances in the current, productive system. Since the classical and the extended withholding tax functions are independent of each other and also the respective withholding tax data is kept in the database in different tables, there is a need for a separate change process (migration) for the migration from the classical to the extended withholding tax functions. The migration defines a mapping of the withholding tax data (Customizing data, master data and transaction data) of the old withholding tax functions on the data of the extended withholding tax function and creates this. However, no tool is made available by SAP that allows a return to the classical withholding tax functions.
Settings for the extended withholding tax functions:

5. If for withholding tax type ( ...Calculation -> Withholding Tax Type) the option 'no certificate numbering' is not selected, you must carry out all corresponding settings.
Check the settings of the field status groups:
6. The withholding tax for reconciliation and posting accounts must be set to as not suppressed (required or optional).
Check the settings of the vendor or customer master data:
7. The withholding tax types and indicators must be defined as
'liable'.
8. The dialog box does not work if the current callup point is
within the exemption period and no collapsed withholding tax rate
was maintained or if this is equal zero.

How can we view the error message numbers in the web ui? It gives the error but no number. It is possible to debug in web UI so how can we accomplish this?

Hi Fakhan,
You can absolutely do that.
Check the class: CL_BSP_MESSAGES
Also if you want to find out the exact Message Class and Message Number, go to table T100, type text in field TEXT, you will get Message Class and Message number in fields ARBGB and MSGNR respectively.

CCMS monitoring for SAPconnect based on Error Message Numbers

Hi,
We are trying to use the CCMS monitoring to produce alerts for SAPconnect based specific Error Message Numbers for emails for example, however the monitoring function or data collection method for SAPconnect (BCOMAL_SXDS) does not provide that level of granularity. Has anybody faced this same problem and can provide a recommendation for this?

You can see the message details in SE91.
In FI, you can control the message number in OBA5. Normally message numbers are issued like this
AA165
First two digits (alpha) is called application area next digits are called message number.
Sometimes, you may not be able to see the messages in OBA5, in such case you need to go to OBMSG transaction code and include the message number to your application area, then you need to come to back to OBA5 to make it information / warning / switch off / error (as the case may be)

Bizarre error adding Numbers in Flex 4

I'm having a bizarre error adding numbers in Flex 4. In all cases, I'm getting the correct result, but sometimes I'm getting extra precision with a 5 at the end.
For example,
If I try to add 5 and 1.56, I get 6.5600000000000005
a lot of numbers add correctly, it's just certain combinations that have the problem.
Here is a small app that demonstrates the issue:

This question comes up all the time. It's a Fact Of life of modern microprocessors and computer languages, which implement floating-point arithmetic using binary fractions (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.), not decimal fractions (1/10, 1/100, 1/1000, etc.), according to the IEEE-754 spec. Many decimal fractions, such as 1.56, cannot be exactly represented as a finite binary fraction. (Or the exact representation in binary might be finite but require more fractional digits that the spec allows.) Although your source program says "1.56", it gets compiled and executed as the IEEE-754 binary-fraction that is closest to 1.56, but it isn't exactly equal to 1.56, and then this slight error gets propogated through calculations, and the conversion back to decimal is again inexact.
Generally, people just use methods like toPrecision() to round things off a bit and hide this problem. Or they go write or find a (much slower) ActionScript library that does true decimal floating-point arithmetic by storing decimal fractions rather than binary fractions.

Hi,
This doesnt mean that its a failure.
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - Job log can also be helpful.
In your case its probably because of tRFC issue.
Check SM58 / BD87 for pending tRFCs.

You can create your own messages here also.

Use the HFM Error Log utility, which you will find on the HFM application server. This Win32 utility will translate the error number into a textual description of the error.

How do I avoid continuous Autosave errors in Numbers for MAC 03?

When I start a new spreadsheet in Numbers for MAC 03, after a few keystrokes, I get the error message 'The document "mySpreadsheet" could not be autosaved. It has been changed by another application.' Of course I click "Save Anyway", but the message reappears after a few more keystrokes. There is no other application involved with this document.This is extremely annoying and impedes progress. I saw a discussion about the same problem occuring with Pages. The thread mentioned something about iCloud, but there was no resolution suggested. I do have iCloud enabled on my system, but I don't specify saving to iCloud - I specify to save it on my Deskltop. I have an iMAC with OS X 10.9.1. Help!!

Thanks for responding to my question. As is often the case when one iss attempting to demonstrate an issue, today I can't repeat the problem. Even with files that were previously exhibiting it. So what changed? I was having problems witth my Carbonite backup because of Kaspersky Internet Security for MAC. I eliminated Kaspersky from my login startup apps, rebooted my machine, and reinstalled Carbonite (it couldn't find its server before). Now Carbonite is working, and I don't have the Numbers autosave problem. After my backup completes, I will restart Kaspersky and see I can reproduce the autosave problem. The strange thing is the autosave problem occured before I installed Kaspersky in the first place. I don't understand how any of this had anything to do with autosave, but I am thankful that my machine is better behaved for now.
I don't have Stuffit Expander installed, but why did you suspect it?
I will continue, and if the problem re-occurs, I will try the Save to Documents instead of Desktop and let you know. Thanks again.

Syntax error in Numbers.

I try typing in this "=4,67+log(A2/(24,63-A2))" and get a syntax error.

Which LOG function do you mean? From the Function Button in Numbers:
Choose Show Function Browser.
The LOG function returns the logarithm of a number using a specified base.
LOG(pos-num, base)
pos-num: A positive number. pos-num is a number value and must be greater than 0.
base: An optional value specifying the base of the logarithm. base is a number value and must be greater than 0. If base is 1, a division by zero will result and the function will return an error. If base is omitted, it is assumed to be 10.
The LOG10 function returns the base-10 logarithm of a number.
LOG10(pos-num)
pos-num: A positive number. pos-num is a number value and must be greater than 0.
The LN function returns the natural logarithm of a number, the power to which e must be raised to result in the number.
LN(pos-num)
pos-num: A positive number. pos-num is a number value and must be greater than 0.

File Cannot be opened error in Numbers

I tried to open a file I had stored in the cloud in numbers. I got a message that the two versions did not sync. When I selected one, I got an error stating that the file cannot be opened. Same problem on my iPad

Ok...after I downloaded media player 11, I went into it and clicked on pictures and they were still viewing fine, but I forgot to click into the videos (which is the original problem). Well, I just got back to my laptop and clicked into videos to view them and I'm getting the same error that I was getting before. It says that windows does not recognize this file type.

ABAP Runtime Error - Serial Numbers

Hi All.
I have created a returns order ---> return delivery ---> Shipment
When I am closing the shipment the system is throwing a dump :- SAPSQL_Array_Insert_Duprec
In the error analysis we get :- The exception was caught in procedure "Serialnumber_Post"
There are serial numbers attached to the line item in the delivery.
Can anyone tell me the corrective measures?

By just looking at the error we can not say what the problem is . take the help of an ABAPer and try to find out where the dump has occured, if it in a custom program then you need to change ,if it is a standard one tehn you need to find the corresponding OSS note for that.
