    Hi.
    Please re-read your stacktrace and then have a look at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/net/NoRouteToHostException.html.
    Then, take your time to think about it again.
    Bye.

  • Handling 404 error through web.xml

    In my application i made the following entry in web.xml:
      <error-page>
        <error-code>404</error-code>
        <location>/error.jspx</location>
      </error-page>
    error.jspx is a jspx file and exist in the public_html folder and has following entry:
    <f:view>
        <af:document id="d1">
          <af:form id="f1">
          <af:outputText value="Hello There error occured" id="ot_11" />
          </af:form>
        </af:document>
      </f:view>
    when a 404 occurs in the application, i am getting following application in the log:
    <[ServletContext@3806419[app:j2ee-app module:retailer path:/retailer spec-version:2.5]] error-page location: "/error.jspx" for the error-code: "404" does not exist. Serving the default error page.>
    Any suggestion what to do next?

    on more thing,
    404 errors are handled by web.xml using following:
    <error-page>
       <error-code>404</error-code>
       <location>/login/404errorPage404.html</location>
    </error-page>
    but in case of 500 errors or nullpointers i treid a no of options, but neither one  worked:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>500</error-code>
       <location>/login/500errorPage500.html</location>
    </error-page>

    </jsp-config>
    </web-app>

    Your web.xml file is out of date.
    You have a DTD there for the Servlet 2.2 spec.
    The jsp-config tag was introduced to web.xml as of the Servlet 2.4 specification - which is why it is complaining in your editor.
    Seeing as you have Tomcat 6, I would recommend you change your web.xml to look like this
    - removed the DTD
    - change the web-app tag to include schema information
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" version="2.5">

  • Implementing client-cert auth in web.xml in Oracle Application Server

    Hi,
    I am new to implementing security features on the web applications.. I have developed a new web service using jdev1012 and deployed in OAS 10.1.2. Its working fine according to the business requirements, but I am in need of implementing client-cert authentication to enable the web service available to only those who have client certificate.
    My server details are:
    Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2)
    Server certificate is in place and SSL mode have been already enabled.. able to access my web service through https://<mydomain.com>/myws/TreqWS as well able to see the WSDL file through https://<mydomain.com>/myws/TreqWS?WSDL.
    I tried to include the following in my web.xml file as part of implementing CLIENT-CERT authentication.
    <security-constraint>
    <display-name>SecurityConstraint</display-name>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>WSCollection</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <user-data-constraint>
    <transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>
    </user-data-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>CLIENT-CERT</auth-method>
    <realm-name>WSCollection</realm-name> <!-- am not sure about this realm-name and its purpose -->
    </login-config>
    It is not woking as expected, though I have restarted my oc4j container after including this content to the web.xml file. i.e, I am able to invoke the web service though my sample java client program, though I donot have client certificate/keystore.
    I believe I am missing something..Can anyone help me in this regard to implement CLIENT-CERT authentication successfully?
    Thanks,
    Ms

    Hello,
    You have different level of integration of SSO services in OC4J 10g (10.1.3).
    If you are using an LDAP server you can integrate that using the LDAP security provider and support SSO between applications. This is documented as part of the Identity Management Integration.
    Also in 10.1.3.0.0 you need to have at least an LDAP server (or bigger identity management solution) to do SSO.
    In 10.1.3.1.0, that should be available this summer, OC4J will have a new security service that will allow applications to be authenticated in a single sing-on fashion. (Stay tuned to the OTN forum we will publish a beta version very soon)

  • How can I change application's web.xml in NetWeaver CE 7.1?

    Hello Experts,
    Please help me. I need to configure a J2EE application on NetWeaver 7.1, but I don't know how I can change the web.xml of the application.
    The web.xml of the app needs to be modified during the configuration. This can be achieved via single-file-update in VA in Netweaver 6.4 or 7.0. But I cannot figure out how to do that in NW 7.1.
    Please show me how to do that or at least give me some hints.
    Thank you!
    Jack

    Hi Jack,
    In SAP NetWeaver 7.1 and later, you use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator instead of Visual Administrator.
    To get some information on how to configure web applications, try [THIS|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/48a60a528608d1e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm] piece of documentation.
    I hope it helps.
    Best,
    Yordan

  • Security problem in Web xml??

    Hi all,
    1)I have webapplication , I want to use form authentication to security it , under my root test , I have login.html, and secure folder ( group of pages),
    I have two tables in my sql server , they are users, and user_role, mean time I give every user role member.
    2) in my conf/server
    I have <Realm  className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JDBCRealm" debug="99"
                 driverName="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
              connectionURL="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433"

                  userTable="users" userNameCol="Name" userCredCol="user_pass"
              userRoleTable="user_roles" roleNameCol="role_name" />in my root test, I have web xml

    What mistake I make??
    Best regard.

    Hi,
    I'm assuming you invoking the JWS from JPD via a service control.
    In this case, the serviceControl has setUsername and setPassword method which will allow you to specify the username and password

  • Is web.xml necessary?

    Is it necessary to have a web.xml file?
    The Tomcat examples work fine but on trying some very simple examples from a book I just keep getting a 404 error. As far as I can see I have put the necessary files (with the exception of web.xml) in the correct directories. Thus, I have in WebApps:
    dir Test1
    dir servlets with the HTML file
    dir Web-inf > dir classes with the HTTPGetServlet.classThe URL is: http://localhost:8080/Test1/HTTPGetServlet
    JSDK 1.4
    Tomcat 3.2.3
    Cheers.
    Alan

    Well, you must have web.xml on your application otherwise where are you going register your servlets.
    That's why everytime you create a servlet you must register it in your web.xml like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
    <web-app>
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>YourServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern></url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>
    Where <servlet-name> is like a nickname of your class YourServlet.
    One point, if your servlet is inside a package you will have to put it in the tag in the same way:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>yourpackage.YourServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    I sincerly hope to help you.

  • Problem with the data source and web.xml

    I have an issue where JSC is removing my resource reference:
    <resource-ref>
    <description>Creator generated DataSource Reference</description>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/localOracleDatabase</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    </resource-ref>
    from the web.xml and sun-web.xml.
    The application has been working great in the IDE for months then wham, no more data source definition. I try and add the reference manually and the IDE takes it out. I am "NOT" adding it to the .xml's in the build area. Why is JSC removing the data source entry?

    This continues to be a problem. The only way that I can get around the problem is to drag a table from the data source onto the design pallete and then the datasource is added back to the web.xml. I can run fine for 10 or 15 runs then the entry is once again removed from the web.xml.
    Help please!
