Error installing flex builder 2 plugin

I'm getting an error when I try to install the flex builder 2
into my copy of eclipse version 3.2.1.
Here is the log:

Yes I tried that to work around my problem Flex Builder
crashing. My Eclipse 3.3 install works fine, Flex Builder will not
even start. The plug-in installer would not get past that same
screen, I downloaded 3.2 and it installed fine, I assume it checks
the version and 3.3 is not supported.

  • Errors when installing Flex Builder 3

I've just installed Flex Builder on my machine but
unfortunately things did not go right.
FX does not work, when I try to start a project an error
message comes on. I click on details, and the only detail I get is
    "error".
I tried reinstalling but it did no good. Very frustrating.
Any hints as to what to do to try it again? Would a corrupted
file cause this kind of problem??
    Thank you for any ideas.

  • How to install Flex Builder?

I would like to start using Flex. But I have big problems when trying to install Flex Builder 3. I already have Eclipse (Ganymede, 3.4) installed on my Windows Vista machine so I tried to install the Eclipse plugin, but I got these dependency pronblems:

  • Getting the Flex Builder Plugin for Eclipse

I may be a dope, but I can't tell you how long it took me to
find the download for the Flex Builder plugin for an existing
install of Eclipse. If you're looking for the plugin, go to the
last line of the FlexBuilder standalone download page--and then, in
the last line, you will see a link buried in the line--click on
that, and you will get the download. Adobe, this is really, really
stupid way to organize your downloads.

    Ha, I'm not alone ;)
Thanks for pointing it out. It might seem obvious once you
notice the link, but I totally missed it.
The Adobe flex builder rips off numerous useful features that
eclipse offers, such as the ability to search all files, and it is
    very inconvenient.

  • Installing flex builder 3 to create flex application

    Please guide me.

  • Can't install Flex Builder 2 plugin in Eclipse 3.3/Europa

[I hope Adobe reads these forums. I tried to submit this as a
customer service request, but the customer service request form
kept telling my I had to enter my First Name, Last Name, and Email
address, even though I _had_ entered them!]
I can't seem to install the Flex Builder 2 plugin in Eclipse
3.3/Europa. I had it installed fine in 3.2/Callisto. I uninstalled
it from there, installed Europa, then tried to install the plugin.
After I selected the Eclipse folder, I got the error:
"Please choose an existing Eclipse folder (3.1 or greater) to
be updated. This folder must contain eclipse.exe and the standard
    folder named "configuration"."
All three conditions (3.1 or greater, eclipse.exe and
configuration) hold in my case, so I don't know what the real
    problem is.

Actually it's quite simple. But you have to be warned. This
doesn't guarantee a bug free Eclipse setup and it isn't supported
by Adobe in any way. It is how-ever your only shot at getting
Eclipse with Flex Builder 2 AND php-development support, as Zend
has stopped deploying the php-development-requirement for Eclipse
3.2 (or at least I haven't found it in their archives.)
Flex Builder 2 simply checks for some files to see if the
directory you want to install to exist, so it recognizes the
directory as an Eclipse 3.1+ directory. Eclipse 3.3 however misses
the file startup.jar. If you simply copy startup.jar from an
Eclipse 3.2 directory into the 3.3 directory, Flex Builder 2 will
    install in the 3.3 directory.
Again. This is not supported in any way by Adobe.
For more info, Google on: eclipse-3.3 Flex-builder-2
    startup.jar
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=eclipse-3.3+Flex-builder-2+startup.jar
    Kind regards.
PS. I would still like to have an Adobe Representative answer
the simple question: Is Adobe or is Adobe not working on getting
Flex Builder 2 to work on Eclipse 3.3? A simple yes or no will
    suffice.

  • Difficulties using Flex Builder plugin version

The strangest thing just happened. I want to look into Zend, so after reading a bit on the web I decided to uninstall Flex Builder 3 standalone version and install Eclipse 3.4 and then install the plugin version of Flex Builder 3.
But after I installed when I click on the Run button I get an error message:
'Launching cmd' has encountered a problem.
    Variable references non-existant resource :
    ${workspace_loc:/Misc/src}
I assume this is because users need prior experience with using Eclipse, but I don't understand why the Adobe plugin version of Flex Builder cannot be such that it just works out of the box.
I have to say I am blown away by this and will immediately uninstall the plug-in version and re-install the standalone.
Any hints on what went wrong? I may try this again sometime but I want to get some work done tonight and I don't have time for this. Really amazed.

    Hi Greg,
I am using the Flex Builder plug-in and I don't remember ever running over this. You said that you have uninstalled Flex Builder before installing Eclipse. I'm not sure ( this is only a guess ) but what if certain setting that you had in Flex Builder remained on your system ( like the path to your workspace that I think got deleted when you uninstalled it ) and when you installed Eclipse, then it was trying to access the information previously stored by Flex Builder.
I'm not sure if that's what the Error says but you might want to check if you workspace still exists and if it does, then does it contain a folder called "Misk/src". I really don't remember running over this error, the Plug-in worked just fine for me.
    With best regards,
    Barna Biro

  • Eclipse + Flex Builder Plugin + RDS

    Hi All,
I've got a strange problem with Eclipse and the Flex Builder
and RDS plugins. I configure the RDS connection in
Window->Preferences->RDS Settings however when I Test the
connection I keep getting the error message "Unable to contact RDS
server 'localhost'". I have the settings configured exactly the
same as they are in HomeSite+. HomeSite+ can connect fine, but
    Eclipse cannot!
Has anyone come across this issue or knows of a workaround?
Do I have to install something in a particular order?
    Thanks for any help.

Could you please let me know the CF version, install
configuration and OS? CF versions 6.1 and prior are not supported
    by the RDS plugin.
We had a similar issue in beta 1 that got fixed and it was
related to the password. If the CF version is not the problem,
please email me your RDS password directly at [email protected] I
know you tried using no password - did you mean the server admin
password or the RDS password (you cannot have a blank RDS
    password)?
The order of installing plugins doesn't make a difference.
    Thanks,
    Farah

  • Anyone been able to install Flex Builder 2 on Vista?

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to get Flex
    Builder 2 to install
on Vista RTM yet. I can get Flex Builder 2.0 installed but
    when I try to
perform the 2.0.1 update I get an error from the Install
    Anywhere
application that I need to "select another location to
    extract the installer
to" but no matter where I install it or if I try to run it
    from the temp
folder as the error is displayed it doesn't work.
I know this is only like the 2nd day or so Vista has been
    available to the
public but I am just wondering if anyone has had any luck so
    far with
perhaps a beta or the business release?
    Thanks,
    -Dan

In case anyone else is having this trouble I found out a way
    that I think is
able to update Flex Builder to 2.0.1. If you download the
    updater on an XP
machine then use WinRAR to extract the files in the .exe you
    should be able
to move that whole folder onto the Vista machine then run the
FlexBuilder2_Updater.exe file from there without any problems
    or errors (I
set that to have admin and run in XP SP2 compatibility just
    to make sure).
So far it seems to be working fine.

  • Installing Flex Builder with MyEclipse

I am trying to get Flex Builder to install a plugin for
eclipse. I have read that the installer is having an issue seeing
the configuration directory, and there is certainly something wrong
with my install. The only solution I found online says that I would
need to, FIRST install eclipse 3.3.1, SECOND install flex and THIRD
    install MyEclipse.
Well, I'm more then a little disturbed by this as I've
already got my IDE setup and working just the way I want it, and
really I'm just testing the capabilities of Flex for the "powers
that be". If it is a good tool, we will use it. But if this failure
to install is a precursor of things to come I'm going to have to
shoot it down since I'm the one whose got to use it.
Any suggestions? Perhaps there is some other support for flex
    as well?
    Thanks,
    -Robert

  • Error installing Flash Builder 4.5 after uninstalling Flash Burrito

    ON MAC:
I'm getting errors installing FB 4.5 PHP,
I tried installing FB 4.5, but just got errors saying  'beta or pre-release needs to be uninstalled'
so I instead tried installing FB 4.5 PHP which gives better error messages.
It said unable to delete directories:
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito Preview
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito/sdks
which don't exist, so I created them and gave them r/w access to everyone.
    Still getting the same error.

Looks like you might have a conflict with a existing installation of Adobe Help.  You may want to review your install logs in their entirety however.  You can find details on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • HELP!! Silent Installing Flex Builder 2

I need to silently deploy Flex Builder 2 with HP Radia. Does
anybody know how to do this?

Yes I tried that to work around my problem Flex Builder
crashing. My Eclipse 3.3 install works fine, Flex Builder will not
even start. The plug-in installer would not get past that same
screen, I downloaded 3.2 and it installed fine, I assume it checks
the version and 3.3 is not supported.
