Maginoo,
I just tested it on a brand new installation of CentOS 5.3 64bit with all the default settings during the install (I added "server" only).
Then everything worked fine with the default java version.

  • Where can I download Tuxedo 10gR3 for Linux ?

As stated above I'm trying to download Tuxedo 10gR3 for Linux but can only find the latest supported versions. Any idea where I can get a copy ?
    Chris

    Hi  Chris,
I believe for older versions of Tuxedo you need to contact Oracle via My Oracle Support (MOS) and request the kit.  You will need to let them know what word size you need, i.e., 32 bit or 64 bit.

  • Registry Key Issue of Installing Tuxedo 10gR3

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing Tuxedo 10gR3 for PeopleTools 8.50 and the following message comes up:
"Warning! Detected installation of Oracle Software, tuxedo 9.1 on this machine. It is recomended that you exit installation and remove tuxedo 9.1".
I ignore the "Warning" and continue to install Tuxedo 10gR3 in the Wizard, the following message comes up:
"The value of -TUXDIR- is not set. Registry key -\10.3.0.0_VS2005\Enviroment\TUXDIR- is empty. You must cancel this installation. If you do not, the installer will continue to run but tuxeo 10gr3 with vs2005 will not be installed"
I click "CANCEL" button to exit install.
I have found "Registry Key - \10.3.0.0_VS2005\Enviroment" by running Start>Run>regedit>RegistryEditor>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Oracle>Tuxedo>10.3.0.0_VS2005>Environment
There is no "TUXDIR" under "Environmnet". There are 2 fields inside it - Value Name and Value Data. The 2 files have no value. I think the issue is caused at this point.
How to solve the issue ?

This sounds similar to another issue raised on OTN. Have you uninstalled Tuxedo 9.1 completely?
You may need to delete the entire registry key for to tuxedo 10gR3 (from the top) through regedit and try again.

Currently I am working on a Windows environment. I downloaded developer 6i for linux and I read the documentation and I did the preinstallation tasks. But when I started the installation an error ocurred saying that some folders did not exist. This is not logig to me, because I am installing and therefore no folder should exist. Do I need to install something before in solve that problem???
For GOD, Christ and all saints do you know how to help me....
    Thank you anyway!!

I found the best way to handle using the program between networked computers is to use extension arguments.
    Simply.
Install the program as administrator BUT do not let it start when installed.
Then edit the properties of the desktop icon so that it has properties so that you run firefox with command line arguments (www.kb.mozillazine.org/command_line_arguments)
Thus if your desktop icon on each Pc is firefox.exe -profile "h:\firefox\profile"
Firefox when started with this desktop icon will always use the profile on the server drive H
Once this is completed you can run the program and it will create the profile in the selected drive location.
if you delete the profile it will create another in the same location.
This also works for Mozilla Thunderbird.
Hope this helps anyone that had the same problem as me.

  • 8.1.6 install - Oracle 8i for Linux

I'm trying to install the Oracle 8i for Linux installation kit from the Osborne book.
    You can stop laughing now.

I'm using Hummingbird eXceed v6.2.0.0 as my X server; everything works fine except when I get to the second page of the installer, and NONE of the buttons at the bottom of the installer page (Next, etc.) appear.

    I am on BI 7.0 SP17 and BI Content 703 level 09.
I am trying to install BI Content for LES - cube 0LES_C01. However there are no updated components for Datasources, DTP etc. Only 3.x infosources etc.
Does this mean that none of the BI Content for LES is upgraded for BI 7.0?
When I try the simulation, I get errors relating to the update rules - 'Error installing update rules'. These are 3.x rules anyway, should I ignore these errors?

  • Error Installing Biztalk Adapter for Enterprise (BT2013)

    Hi everybody,
I'm attempting to install the adapter for enterprise application, the machine is a win7-64 (phisical) and previously in this laptop had BT 2010. I guess that is something related to the previous version of BizTalk.
    The message is:
"An error occured while applying security settings. Users is not a valid user o group. This could ba a problem with tha package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network"
This machine is a sandbox and the user that is running the setup is part of the administrator's group of the machine and is part of the company domain (AD), and the machine is connected to the net.
In advance, I Apreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Luis Cardozo

    Hi Luis,
Have you verified that the user is member of Biztalk groups ?I think you need to add the user to biztalk group such as Biztalk Administrator ,SSO Administrator etc prior to running the setup .
Another way around is to create groups manually .
perform the following steps and run the installation again:
Create a new user called CREATOR OWNER (Type this command on the command prompt – net user "CREATOR OWNER" /add)
Create a new group called Users (Type this command on the command prompt – net localgroup Users /add)
You can find detailed document at
    link here

  • Error installing ARES 7 to linux

    Hello,
While installing ARES v7 to Linux RHEL 3.0, I am getting the following error after specifying my rights credential file:
"Executing Java Method initializeUIDeployTypeSelect on class class com.installshield.ares_suite_installer.event.dialog.swing.PanelDeployTypeSelect. The method does not exist or does not accept the proper parameters."
I have tried setting JAVA_HOME to the JDK in our Websphere installation (per instructions) and to a separate IBM v1.4.2 JDK. I get the error either way.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you are using the Easy configuration Wizard, in step 2, you should remove the signtool.jar file or the installation will fail. If you are doing the Expert configuration Wizard, ensure that if you have more than one product (Security Server or Policy Server) that you are using the correct signtool.jar file as they are different (even though they are named the same).

Are you sure AS Control wasn't installed with this AS instance? I am thinking it might be there but just not running. Check to see if you have an entry for application name="ascontrol" in your $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/server.xml file? Also check if you have "ascontrol.ear" file and "ascontrol" directory under $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/applications directory. If you do, chance are, AS Control is already deployed but just not running.
Check what does "opmnctl status -app" shows? If it shows the state of ascontrol application as "stopped", you can start it using "opmnctl startproc application=ascontrol".
    Thanks

You require a patch 6339508 which provides replacement pre-requisite tests. To use it you need to add two parameters to the runInstaller command as shown below.
    ./runInstaller PREREQ_CONFIG_LOCATION=<PATCH_LOC>/prereq –paramFile <PATCH_LOC>/oraparam.ini
PATCH_LOC is the location where you unzipped the 6339508 patch. With these new parameters the installer correctly recognizes Oracle Enterprise Linux as a supported platform. Note that OEL needs some specific patches when used with SOA Suite and these need to be installed prior to running the installer. Check the documentation for details.

  • Crash when starting newly installed LBV7.0 for Linux

HI just installed LABview 7.0 on a Linux redhat 7 machine.
I start it and after trying to open a VI I wrote elsewhere in LBV7. I get the following error message
    "Fatal INternal Error : "fontmgr.cpp" line 1023
    Labview version 7.0"
    And teh core gets dumped
Any idea how to resolve this problem .

I've seen a similar situation in which the system font "fixed" was not available, and LabVIEW assumes that the "fixed" font is available, but it could also be a locale problem. Did you happen to choose a foriegn local, or UTF*, etc?
Depending on your shell, try setting the "LANG" environmental variable. Like this:
    LANG=C labview
Or, simply typing "locale" in a terminal should tell you your current settings.
If that doesn't work, see if you have a fixed font available by typing "xlsfonts | grep fixed".
Let me know if either of those things work for you.

    What is the problem?

Did you carefully go through all pre-req steps for install?
Oracle needs some "compatibility libraries" as well (compat-lib*). Here are packages for AS 10g, most or all of which apply to Database too.
    Checking operating system packages: gcc-3.2.3-20,compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.122,compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,setarch-1.3-1,pdksh-5.2.14,sysstat-4.0.7,gnome-libs-1.4.1.2.90-34.1,libstdc++-3.2.3,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.5
When required packages are in place, there's another error lurking, related to __libc_wait symbol.
runInstaller "boots" OUI, which includes running a JRE from tmp. This JRE (build 02) is broken, but you can setup to run another one via oraparam.ini and JRE_LOCATION. Download build 10 from Sun (google "jre 1.3.1 download").

  • Error installing Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle EE 11g 11.2.0.1.0 on a Windows 2008 R2 server. Now, I am using the Oracle Universal Installer to install the Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor 11.2.0.1.0
    Source path is D:\Share\11gR2_win32_11gR2_database_install\database\stage\products.xml
    Installation Type is Custom
    Install Location is C:\app\dmadmin
    Path is C:\app\dmadmin\OraHome_1
I de-select all product components and select the following two:
    Oracle Windows Interfaces 11.2.0.1.0
Oracle Counters for Windows Performance Monitor 11.2.0.1.0
    I get the following error:
OUI-10150:Error: A runtime exception occurred while setting s_digCfgNamingLabelSIDnull in component Database 11g 11.2.0.1.0 . Installation cannot continue for this component.
I am given the choice of Stop installation of all products and Stop installation of this component only which both result in non-installation of selected component.
Does anyone have any advice or solutions for this error? I have tried re-booting the server, but get the same error.
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Stumped

OUI from ORACLE_HOME (OH\oui\bin\setup.exe) cannot be used to install components from 11.2.0.1 installation media (products.xml)
This is documented, but I am not able to locate it now.
Have you checked if the Performance Monitor files are already installed or not?
    Thanks
    Srinivas
