Error: invalid file 'java/lang/Object.class' (wrong version: 48, expected 4
hi all
ive installed jdk1.4.1 from jdk1.3 .
When i try to compile a java file i get this error.
Error: invalid file 'java/lang/Object.class' (wrong version: 48, expected 45)
anyone has any idea abt this.
im stuck :( pls help.
thanks
Jan
Did you uninstall 1.3 completely? Completely in the sense both jdk and jre.
You may get this error if you use javac of one version and the rt.jar of another version.

Forte compilation returns Object.class incorrect version 48
Java programs that compile successfully fail in Forte CE V3.0 and return messages "Class file java/lang/Object.class has incorrect version 48, should be 45, 46 or 47". Does anyone know what this means and how it can be overcome?
ThanksIt means that the rt.jar in your classpath is more recent than the compiler Forte is using.

Help! How to convert an instance from java.lang.Object to a particula class
* How to convert an instance from java.lang.Object class to a particular class
witch is known only at the running time?
Roster EJB component is make up of RosterHome, Roster and RosterBean.
RosterHome is the home interface of Roster EJB.
Roster is the remote interface of Roster EJB.
RosterBean is the implement of Roster EJB.
The following code segment is to invoke Roster EJB component.
String jndiName="roster.RosterHome";
javax.naming.Context initial = getInitialContext();//getInitialContext() returns a instance of Context.
Object objref = initial.lookup(jndiName);
RosterHome home =
(RosterHome)javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
RosterHome.class);
Roster myRoster = home.create();
String team="T1"
String player="Tom"
myRoster.addPlayer(player,team);
But, now, all the home interface, the remote interface and the JNDI Name of
Roster EJB component are not been known at the compiling time. However They are
known at the running time, throught reading from the XML config file.
Questions:
1,How to write code for this case ? or
2,How to convert an instance from Object class to a particular class witch is known
only at the running time?
String jndiName="roster.RosterHome";// in fact, reads from XML file.
String homeClassName="roster.RosterHome";// in fact, reads from XML file.
String remoteClassName="roster.Roster";// in fact, reads from XML file.
javax.naming.Context initial = getInitialContext();//getInitialContext() returns a instance of Context.
Object objref = initial.lookup(jndiName);
Object objHome= javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
Class.forName(homeClassName));
/* how to do next?
}I am not sure what you are trying to do. But at some point you should know which methods to call on the remote interfaces. Maybe the method names are stored in the XML file as well or you have a set of standard method names (also consider parameters).
However, this can be solved by reflection. Look at the java.lang.reflect package, especially java.lang.reflect.Method, and also at java.lang.Class.
If you are doing this on the app server:
I've seen posts where people say that reflection is not permitted in EJB, but I don't think so. Check the EJB spec.
If you are doing this in an application: reflection is always permitted. Probably also in applets and JSP. -
Using java.lang.Float.class causing Cannot format given Object as a Number
hi,

}; public Class getColumnClass(int columnIndex) {
return types [columnIndex];
}};I want to force the user to enter float number to fourth column and integer number to fifth column. but I am gettin an error "Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot format given Object as a Number" like this. cause of this error is "java.lang.Float.class". and when I use Integer instead of Float the is no problem. Could you please help ?It depends on model data.

Hi,
How to solve this error:
java.lang.VerifyError: (class: oracle/forms/fd/JCalendarJinit$1, method: <init> signature: (Loracle/forms/fd/JCalendarJinit;)V) Expecting to find object/array on stack
at oracle.forms.fd.JCalendarJinit.<init>(JCalendarJinit.java:66) ............
I edited the JCalendarJinit.java file for the JCalendar control for the Oracle Forms, I created the jar file, and when using in the forms, i am getting this error when running the oracle form,
I read, it may be version problem, How can I set the Java version to 1.3 for this java file.
Thanks in advance,Jacob,
I have received complaints from users, that have got this error on some beans while migrating to Forms 10.1.2.3, even with Sun 1.6 plug-in.
The beans worked fine with 10.1.2

NoClassDefFound java/lang/Object error
Hi all,
I just tried to install JRE 1.4.1 on Win98 and encountered this error when I typed in java -version:
error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
After I installed I added SET CLASSPATH = and the path to my rt.jar and tools.jar to my autoexec.bat, but that didn't seem to work.
Sorry about posting this here if it isn't appropriate, I tried a forum search but kept getting Server Error.
SteveLook at this thread:

Think it is reply 3 or 4, where you have to rename the the java.exe file somewhere in your system path -

Hi,
when promoting "Crystal Report 2013" report (with data connectivity BW MDX Query) from BO DEV to BO PROD with BO Promotion Mgmt (LCM), we get the following error message in LCM jobs history:
Resolution Status=Overwritten, Dependency Status=All the required dependencies are included.,
Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed.,
Promotion Status=Failure : Object promoted. Update failed.
Error: java.lang.ClassCastException: class com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ByteArray:java.net.URLClassLoader@1d634758 incompatible
with class com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.PropertyBag:java.net.URLClassLoader@1d634758
The report itself is present on BO PROD, but the overwrite (BW DEV MDX Query-> BW PROD MDX Query) is not applied, so report connectivity still points to the BW Query on the development system :-( .
Moreover, the overwrite itself is detected when the job is "test promoted" ("active overwrite").
Before, we successfully were able to transport crystal reports 2013 with overwrite (the connection then pointed to BW PROD). No idea yet what suddenly changed that...
Any ideas what causes the error and what can fix it (no posts found, no SAP note, google also no hits)?
Best regards
Florian PitschiUpdate:
After more investigation, it looks as if the BO Server "CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer"
from time to time has an issue - not only when promoting, but also when viewing publications that contain Crystal Report documents or when executing them, the java class error or similar issue is thrown.
Did sb face similar behaviour and knows what is the root cause for "CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer" not working probably and throwing the java-class error? - it was running fine for several months, now, the class error showed up twice in one month.
We need to find out what is causing the issue (aleady checked tomcat and BO-logfiles...).
Best Regards

Script editor was working find when I last used it last week. Tried to open a script today to make some changes and now I'm getting this error message. I have uninstalled and re-installed editor, checked the compatibility mode and it wont open the script. any ideas out there what the problem could be? need some trouble shooting help.
Error:

LoraHmmm.... I haven't seen that, but I can tell you what I would do if I were you. This is kind of drastic, but the alternative may be a workstation reimage.
Open the windows control panel, and open the add/remove programs snap in.
Uninstall the CRS editor.
Uninstall all the JRE instances you have. They may be listed as something like Java (TM) update.... or they may appear as J2SE Runtime.... Check in the J's (it's alphabetical) and uninstall all of them.
Reboot the machine.
Download and reinstall Java 1.6.0.17 (This is what's running on my workstation right now, and it works with the editor).
Reinstall the CRS editor
Reboot the machine
Try it and see if it behaves. If it doesn't, you may need to rebuild the whole thing. -
JBuilder: Failed to Load Super Class java.lang.Object
Hi I am a beginner of JBuilder. When I tried to compile some samples from JBuilder, the compiling failed because "Failed to Load Super Class java.lang.Object." Any clue to fix the bug?
MarkHi
Thanks for you guys' help. I found that when I create a project, the JBuilder's JDK homepath pointed by default to a JDK directory not existed. Therefore, I modified the JDK homepath through Tools/Configure JDKs. Then it worked. -

Sorry, I didn't look very closely - the exception is for
javax.servlet.ServletConfig - should be in weblogicaux.jar.
Is there anything wrong with it? What service pack are you
using? Could be a problem with weblogic.policy.
