yes...I got the mistake which i was doing.Actually the target file data type should be string and I was defined it diffrent for each column.
When I chnged the data type to string,data get loaded to target table.
Thanks for your reply.

  • How to import data from excel or csv files to Oracle table

    hello everybody,
    I am new here and new in Oracle. I would like to know the steps how to import data from excel or csv files to Oracle table.
    Let say I already have table inside the Oracle. Then my user give me the sets of data inside the Excel Worksheet.
    So, how can I import the excel data into Oracle table.
    Thank you in advance.
    cheers,
    shima

    Even easier. Download JDeveloper 11G from this site.
    Set up the database connection, right click on the table, select Import->Excel and specify your file to load it. On the import pop-up, you must view and update each tab indicating Columns, Data Types, and DML.
    Columns -- move the selected columns that you want to load to the box on the right
    Data Types -- select column name from second column to which the data for each column of the import file should load
    DML -- click this tab to generate the INSERT SQL
    Once done click 'Insert'

  • Import data from a Fixed Length File into Oracle database

    Hi,
    I would like to import data from a Fixed Length text file into a table using HTML DB application.
    As of now, i have a .sql file(that uses external table) to import the data into Oracle tables
    I would like to integrate this in my HTML DB application so that the user can directly import the data into the table.
    Sample data
    XXXYYYYZZZZZ
    Data should be read to table that has
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    XXX YYYY ZZZZZ

    Hi,
    I would like to import data from a Fixed Length text
    file into a table using HTML DB application.AFAIK, fixed length imports are not something you can do directly with the HTML DB tools or available APIs.
    As of now, i have a .sql file(that uses external
    table) to import the data into Oracle tables
    I would like to integrate this in my HTML DB
    application so that the user can directly import the
    data into the table.Any fixed-length data needs to have a specification associated with it that indicates which character position begins a new column and what each column represents. Some also include what datatype should be used for each of those.
    If you really want to do this I would suggest that you create a table that you can store the file spec in. It would probably have columns for field name, start position, length or end position, datatype and any alias/column name you might want to apply. You would then use this table in a PL/SQL procedure (probably a package with the main processing procedure and various supporting procedures/functions) to read the file into memory, apply the file spec to each line and then do inserts into your table.
    Obviously, this is just a concept or strategy. Implementing it will depend on your PL/SQL skills and determination. If you want to pursue this strategy I'm sure you can find some jump-starts by doing a search on the PL/SQL forum.
    This may not sound like an answer - but the answer is you need to code it to fit your requirements. Hope that helps.

  • SSIS to Export data from SQL to flat file dynamically

    Hi.
    I hope somebody can help me out, I have a table like this:
    Date, StoreNumber, ProductCode, SalesItem, SalesAmout, Inventory
    09-10-2014,10,1,10,10,30
    As you can see I have a Date field and my table has information from 2014 at daily basis, What I'm trying to do is to export the information of this table to flat files, creating one file pear each date, as a result I will have about 280 files (one per date)
    I do not know if it is possible or not.
    Thank you.

    Hi Mike,
    you can do it using one Execute SQL Task and a ForEach Loop variable driven.
    1st the Execute SQL Task "figures out" how many iterations the loop would need. The SQL as follows would drive it:
    SELECT DISTINCT [DATE] FROM MyTable;
    and you get the dates placed into a package variable of type recordset for the [280] files.
    And then you can operate on the recordset in the loop "shredding it" in a DFT with a source query dynamically driven by the date as "select a,b,c from mytable where date = '" + @[User::CurentDate] + "'" placing each
    "date" into its own file even naming the file after the date using the current value of the package variable (ADO row concept).
    See an example: http://www.sqlis.com/sqlis/post/Shredding-a-Recordset.aspx

  • ESB not moving data from database to flat file

    Using ESB, created an database adapter/routing service (polling for changed records) & file adapter to write all records from a database table to a flat file as a series of XML entries in the file. I only get the last record from the database into the flat file. Using JDev 10.1.3.2 and SOA Suite 10.1.3. Have a 'status' column in the source database table that is set to 'PROCESSED' when the record has been processed. After I get the one XML element, representing the last record in the database, I look at the database table and ALL rows have their 'status' column set to PROCESSED - the field was null before the database table was processed.
    How do I get ALL of the records into the flat file?
    Thanks - Casey

    There are two ways
    Either use IKM Sql to File Append
    (or)
    OdiSqlUnload
    For OdiSqlUnload you can use this technique to provide the connection parameters - http://odiexperts.com/?p=1985

    Hi John,
    The source is csv file. By default all columns are string type.The integration is failing at step 3 ( load Data).
    I am loading the data from csv file directly to staging table( oracle ).Its one to one mapping.

  • Loading Date fields from flat file to Oracle tables

    Hi,
    I have a flat file with a few date columns. I have given the format for the date field while creating the data store for the flat file. The format I used is 'YYYY-MM-DD'.
    But I get an error when I execute it after associating the module with LKM & IKM.
    The error message is as follows:
    org.apache.bsf.BSFException: exception from Jython: Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<string>", line 3, in ?
    OS command has signalled errors
    Can anyone help me out.
    Thanks

    At the time of DataStore creation. You take that date field as string.
    After this, in interface, when you map this date field with table field. You should use CONVERT(<field name>,DATE) in expression editor.

  • How to load 2 fields out of 3 from flat file to Oracle in one interface?

    Hi,
    Is there any way to selectively load flat file into oracle within one interface. For example if my flat file has this structure:
    test_cid
    test_ind
    test_data
    and my table is:
    test_code ( correspond to test_cid above)
    test_data (correspond to test_data above)
    That can be done with two interfaces ( first to load the file into oracle staging and second to load the target oracle table from staging oracle table). Is there a way to make it in one interface?
    Edited by: vzaslav on Oct 21, 2009 1:26 PM

    That works for small tables. For big tables you need to accomodate for extra space as you will need to have at least twice as much space for working/integration tables and that is what we are trying to avoid.
    In fact I was able to modify the LKM to load the file into oracle, however my integration step fails and I cannot make it work. To make lkm work one need to change getColList in create working table/generate ctl file steps to getSrcColList. That will create the working table based on source file structure and not on target table structure.
    That doesn't work for IKM however. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank You.

  • MAPPING FLAT FILE TO ORACLE ERROR!! Please help

    hello all
    I am using OWB on Oracle9i.
    Trying to map flat file (file.txt) to oracle table,
    Validate: okey, some warning
    Generate/Deploy: successful.
    But when I check to the database sqlplus there is no rows existed. I verify that I connect to the right database.
    My question is:
    When doing a map from flat file to oracle table. Do I have to have some thing in the middle such as (filter, join) or I just can do a straight mapping if I don't have any condition to filter out.
    Please response if you know the answer.
    Your answer greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help
    Regards,

    If you are using an OWB version which is 9.0.3.x or earlier, to load a flat file into the database, you should generate SQL loader files and run them either manually or by using a scheduler.
    The new version (9.0.4) supports external tables, so you don't have to use SQL loader. Please refer to the user manual for more details.

  • Load flat file into oracle with SQL Loader

    Hi All,
    Oracle 9i
    I want to load flat file into oracle with the help of sqlloader but I want to skip some columns from flat file.
    Can anyone tell me how can we skip column from flat file , I can’t open flat file into excel as CSV due to large volume
    Does anyone has any solution for the same.
    Umesh Goel

    Filler can be use when we want to skip database table column or we want to put null in database table column
    but if we have 10 column in flat file and we want to load 1,2,5,7 number column from flat file
    then I think filler will not work
    If yes then plz let me know.
    thx

  • Net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error loading object from file : C

    I started using JasperReports for my web application report generation. I'm using JSPs for web development.
    I created a .jrxml file using iReport and used the following code to generate the report.
    try {
              JasperDesign jasperDesign = JRXmlLoader.load("C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\samples\\pmm-final.jrxml");
              JasperReport jasperReport = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(jasperDesign);
    // Second, create a map of parameters to pass to the report.
              Map parameters = new HashMap();
              parameters.put("Title", "JasperReport");
    // Third, get a database connection
              Connection conn = null;
              Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
              conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=C:/tomcat/webapps/db1/db1.mdb");
    // Fourth, create JasperPrint using fillReport() method
              JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(jasperReport,
                                  parameters, conn);
    // You can use JasperPrint to create PDF
              //JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfFile(jasperPrint, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestReport.pdf");
              JasperExportManager.exportReportToHtmlFile(jasperPrint, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestPMM.html");
              JRXlsExporter exporter = new JRXlsExporter();
              exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint);
              exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.OUTPUT_FILE_NAME, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestPMM.xls");
              exporter.exportReport();
    // Or to view report in the JasperViewer
              //JasperViewer.viewReport(jasperPrint);
    } catch (JRException e) {
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e.printStackTrace();
    The above pmm-final.jrxml uses a subreport 'top.jasper'. Error being thrown while loading top.jasper file. Error is as follows.

    Anyone pls help. It's bit urgent. Thanks.

    I was using iReport v0.5.0 and it uses jasperreports-0.6.7.jar (v0.6.7) of
    JasperReports. I compiled and i deployed my application in BEA weblogic server. I got the error listed below. Only after i saw your
    response explaining that iReport was the issue, i checked the iReport lib directory and found this version of jasperreport jar.
    iReport creates a java source file which is used to a jasper file.
    iReport will link in the v0.6.7 version of jasperReports. When you
    deploy your web application it will recognize this version through the compiled jasper file and give you the InvalidClassException, even
    though you only have one jasperReport jar deployed with your war file.
    The way i fixed this problem was to create my web application with the
    jasperreport jar comes with iReport.
    Thanks for mentioning iReport.

    Second message, please read.
    OS- Microsoft windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 2
    OWB client---9.0.3.33.0
    OWB Repository--9.0.3.0.1
    Database--oracle 9i Enterprise Edition 9.0.1.3.1 with the partioning option Jserver Release9.0.1.3.0
    OEM--9.0.1.0.0
    I have created mapping between the source(flat file)and target(oracle)using Oracle Warehouse Builder. Mapping was validated, configured and it successfully generated without errors. The ‘Deploy’ button and the ‘Run’ button are disabled. How can I run/deploy this mapping ?
    The above OWB copy was downloaded from the Oracle corp website. Is this version an evaluation copy? Alternatively Is this a beta copy ?
    Please help.

    Dear All,
    I have a problem with loading flat files to oracle tables using OWB 9.2
    i created a map with my flat file as a source and my oracle table as a target,and i created a connector between the target location and the flat file location.And i deployed the connector and registered the flat file location using my PC information and the path of the files on my pc.
    I generated the map and saved the .ctl file and deployed the map,and hence trying to load the ctl file using the sql loader as the following:
    C:\Documents and Settings\CORAL 2000>sqlldr owb_rt_rep/owb_rt_rep@ofsa
    control = D:\oracle2\ofsa\owb\codegen\BM_DEBIT_CARDS_DAT_MAP.ctl
    ---where owb_rt_rep is my runtime repository user.
    I got the following error:
    SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 18.
    Expecting "(", found ".".
    INTO TABLE "{{TRG_LOC1.Schema}}"."BM_DEBIT_CARDS_DAT"
    --where trg_loc1 is my target location and bm_debit_cards_dat is my target table.
    I tried to grant from the target schema the privelages to the runtime user incase its the problem,but still it didn't work.
    Any ideas??
