I need to install a Finnish language on EBS, so i licensed Finnish language in EBS.
As mentioned in subject my problem lies within Maintaining multi-lingual tables.
After i run the adadmin and select Maintain multi-lingual tables, everything is right until the last jobs, where 3 workers fail! here is the error

  • Failure during running Maintain Multi-lingual Tables

    Hi,
    Currently, the system is running with R12.1.1 on RHEL 5.7.
    All the prerequisite patches are installed including language performance.
    Then, I am adding 4 additional languages. So, what's done is...
    1. Activated languages in the license manager.
    2. Run Maintain Multi-lingual Tables in AD Admin.
    I assigned 16 workers for this, and the last two assignments failed with the following messages.
    FAILED: file JTFNLINS.sql on worker 2 for product jtf username JTF.
    Deferred: file JTFNLINS.sql on worker 2 for product jtf username JTF. (Deferment number 1 for this job)

    Completed: file AKNLINS.sql on worker 6 for product ak username AK.
    There are now 0 jobs remaining (current phase=Done):
    0 running, 0 ready to run and 0 waiting.
    ATTENTION: All workers either have failed or are waiting:

    So, when I looked at the worker specific logs, followings are the error message.

    When I had search work, it seems that <not enough space> is causing this.
    Or, is there any other reason than this for the failure?
    2.
    If <not enough space> is causing the failure, how could this be handled/solved?
    3.
    After the solution is applied, how is <Maintain Multilingual Tables> resumed?
    Currently, my status is that I am on pause at the following message;

    Can anyone help me out of this problem...?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    When I had search work, it seems that <not enough space> is causing this.
    Or, is there any other reason than this for the failure?I believe this is only the reason and you need to add some space to APPS_TS_SEED tablesapce.
    ALTER TABLESPACE APPS_TS_SEED add datafile '/<replace with the actual file name path>' size 1024M;
    3.
    After the solution is applied, how is <Maintain Multilingual Tables> resumed?
    Currently, my status is that I am on pause at the following message;If you have not stopped the adadmin, then use adctrl to restart the failed workers.
    If you have already stopped/quit adadmin, then run adadmin again.
    thanks

  • Maintain multi lingual tables poor performance

    hello all,
    i am trying to install 4 new langauges into one of my test environments.
    the first stage is to add the language via licence manager - i have done this ok.
    the enxt stage is to run 'maintain multi lingual tables' via adadmin
    the problme i am having is that one process is taking over 48 hours to fail with snapshot too old, even though i have increased the undo_retention from 10800 to 48000, the job JTFNLINS.sql still fails
    I have a tar raised at the moment, but with not much information coming back,
    has any one got any tips/hints on how i can get this job working succesfully and in a shorter time?
    many thanks

  • Codepage conversion from multi-lingual table using JDBC

    Hello,
    I have an Oracle database that has been around since before any unicode was available. It is currently 9.2.0.7.0 and the charset is WE8ISO8859P1. I am trying to port all of the data in the 'Translation' table to a UTF-8 database. The problem is that each of the translated strings is stored in its own native MS Windows codepage. This table was populated over the years via OCI connections in C/C++, and this method worked. But now we need it moved to UTF-8 and are using JAVA. Obviously, all the cp1252 languages come over just fine, but all the other languages get converted to garbage by JDBC, since it is auto-converting them and assumes the source is 8859. I could do it with OCI, as I mentioned, but I am mandated to use JAVA and a web interface, so users can choose what data to move/convert to the new DB (on-demand) from a web page.
    Is there a way to force the Oracle connection to think the database is in a different codepage so that the conversion comes out correct? OR
    Is there a way to get the data from Oracle as unconverted chars, or generic binary, or something, and then have JAVA convert it to UTF-8 from the correct codepage before writing it to the new table?
    Any help is appreciated.

    No.

    Yes. Use:
    SELECT UTL_RAW.CAST_TO_RAW(col) FROM tab;
    and retrieve the value with ResultSet.getBytes. Then convert the retrieved byte[] to java.lang.String using String(byte[] bytes, String charsetName) constructor. Note, charsetName is Java name. Then, you can use setString() on PreparedStatement containing the INSERT for the converted value.

  • Maintaining default locale in multi-lingual application

    Hello,
    I have a multi-lingual application where the language can be changed at runtime.
    To make the following code work properly, the default locale has to be set each
    time the language changes. Why?
    Since I need to check sometimes the platforms original locale (I do this with
    "Locale.getDefault()"), I am looking for a way not to change the default locale,
    but still to change the resourceBundle.
    In the API I read under "ResourceBundle, Cache Management" that the bundles are cached. Is this the reason why redefining the resourceBundle has no effect? And if yes, how can it be avoided?
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Y extends JFrame {
      boolean toggle;
      Locale currentLocale;
      JButton b;
      ResourceBundle languageBundle;
      String country, userLanguage;
      public Y() {
        setSize(300,300);
        setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
        Container cp= getContentPane();
        b= new JButton();
        b.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
          public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
         toggle= !toggle;
         if (toggle)
           country= "DE";
         else
           country= "GB";
         setUserLanguage(country);
        cp.add(b, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
        setUserLanguage("GB");
        setVisible(true);
      public static void main(String args[]) {
        java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
          public void run() {
         new Y();
      void setUserLanguage(String country) {
        if (country.equals("DE"))
          userLanguage= "de";
        else
          userLanguage= "en";
        currentLocale = new Locale(userLanguage, country);
    //    System.out.println(currentLocale); // The locale changes ...
    //    Locale.setDefault(currentLocale); // Remove comment slashes and it works.
    //    languageBundle.clearCache(); // No effect.
        languageBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("MyBundle",currentLocale);
        System.out.println(languageBundle); // ... but the resourceBundle does not change.
        b.setText(languageBundle.getString("ButtonText"));
    The resource bundle files:
    MyBundle.properties
    ButtonText= Just a button
    MyBundle_de_DE.properties
    ButtonText= Nur ein KnopfEdited by: Joerg22 on 18.08.2008 13:26

    What's your default locale? If your default locale is de_DE, that's the expected behavior. The reason for it is the fallback mechanism searches default locale's bundle before falls back to the base bundle, i.e., in case of searching en_GB bundle, the search order is:
    en_GB
    en
    de_DE
    de
    (base)
    So, it will choose MyBundles_de_DE.
    If you do not want this default locale fallback, you can specify ResourceBundle.Control instance, which is returned from ResourceBundle.Control.getNoFallbackControl() method, in your getBundle() call. Or if you do not use JDK6, you could copy the base bundle to MyBundles_en, which is ugly but should work.

  • How to generate multi-lingual applications with Designer?

    In Designer 10g we have the definitions of hundreds of tables and views and
    forms/reports modules. Currently all texts (prompts, hints, comments, help texts, etc) are in Dutch. Because of new customers in Germany, we now have to translate everything into German (and in the future also to French and English etc).
    We know that we can use Translation Hub to translate forms and reports,
    however, many tables/columns are used by more modules (sometimes 10 or more). So, the translation of each module with the Hub is very inefficient.
    We are wondering if there are easier ways. For example, when we translate a
    prompt of a tablecolumn, Designer (Headstart) can update all related module items. So, with one translation, we in fact translate many modules at once.
    We could perhaps make a copy of the application, but that will work very
    inefficiently because each modification has to be done on multiple
    applications.
    Has anyone a genius solution for this?
    Thanks for your help, Jan Willem

    I hate to be the one to break it to you, but there isn't a genius solution out there for you. And it isn't a Designer problem, it's an application architecture problem.
    You'll notice that Headstart (since you've looked at that) does two things for you. One is that it has utilities to go update many items for you. Two is that it uses standard error and LOV tables which are multi-lingual based. You enter your messages and lookups in many languages (many rows per code, one per language) and the Headstart library logic displays the right row based on the code and the NLS setting. architecture.
    In your case, where you have hard-coded everything, if you don't want to re-architect things, then your only solution is to clone things. Probably best off (based on other client experience) to just keep the single model in your base language, develop and gen as you have been, and then work your way through all the source code (database and application components) to do all the translation (as noted the Translation Hub can help some), and then implement each result. At least that way you know all the functional logic works. So you're not introducing any bugs (except for when the translated info is longer then the base info -- as we have here in Canada where French takes up more space then English). sorry. ugly.

  • Error in updating condition table 372

    Hello,
    While saving Excise Invoice I am facing error 'Error in updating condition table 372'.Could you please solve this probelm?
    Thanks in Advance

    Dear All,
    I done this--by doing some configuration changes.
    Normally while doing Exports we are tempted to use the same sales area and accordingly we may give the combination of excise grp+series grp+export type in IMG>>>Logistics General>>>India>>>Business transactions>>>Outgoing excise invoices>>>Maintain default excise groups and series groups.
    Once after removing the export type to your sales area combination--system will show this error--and we cannot even post the Excise invoices.(J1IIN)
    I tried in my IDES--that with export type(Ex.Export under Bond)--with this assignment--i am able to post my excise invoices.
    Once after removing this assignment of export type--again i am getting this error.
    Actually i am not even aware why it is happening--almost after two months of struggle--i find this.
    (i feel it is in the same way that we cannot even open/See a sales order by deleting sales group which was created&used previously)
    i am sharing this because somebody may get a little help with my thread.
    Mark this if helpful--there by others can easily find this thread.

    Hello Nithya,
    It seems the No of tolerated faulty documents that you have given is 0. So when you initialize try to these.
    While executing OLI*BW including a value in the maintain  "No. tolerated faulty documents" - 5000 or 10000.
    Then execute the program in background.
    Once the job is completed check the background job log if any errors.

    Hi Experts,
    I am getting the error while activating my table PSM_REQ_BO_ELM_NAME.  Activation error log is as follows
    "DB length of the key of table PSM_REQ_BO_ELM_NAME is too large (>900)"..
    I have a table which has 4 filed as key one with char 6 and rest 3 with char 120 each.
    Could you please help me to get rid of this error.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    When ever we create a table in Data dictionary, a corresponding database table will be created in Data base server. For the primary key we maintained in Data Dictionary, another data base table will be created seperately where as the table length should not exceed some limit set by the Administrator.
    So, Reduce the length of the primary key in the table by deleting the field as key field/ reducing the size of the field.
    In your case, maintain the primary key field length not more than 400.
    ***Length if the Primary key should not exceed 120. other wise performance will be low while fetching the data.

  • Maintain acct determination (table T030B) for posting key IRX / IGX (M8395)

    Dear Guru,
    I am testing IS-Oil & Gas (Downstream) - Exchanges.
    Created Exchange Agreement and Purchase Contract and Sales Contract, Purchase Contract and Sales Contract are assigned to the Exchange Contract.
    A PO is created with reference to the Purchase Contract.
    Upon post goods receipt in MIGO, encountered error message "Maintain account determination (table T030B) for posting key IRX (Message no. M8395)" that does not allow PGR to get through.
    A call-off is created with reference to the Sales Contract.
    Similarly, when PGI is performed in VL01N, encountered error message "Maintain account determination (table T030B) for posting key IGX (Message no. M8395)" that does not allow PGI to get through.
    Checked in OBYC, there is no transaction key for IRX and IGX.
    Please advise. Thank you.

    WL

    Hi WL,
    Please use transaction code O54E to maintain the required configuration.
    I hope this helps you.

    Hi WL,
    In an Exchange scenario, the account determination entry would have to go added through tcode O54E for this purpose. You would see both the IRX and IGX entry in the above mentioned tcode.
    Menu path: IS-OIL Downstream --> EXG --> Account Assignment
    You would not be able to see the IRX or IGX transaction key in OBYC.
    Hope the above helps.
    Thanks.
