Error message - iTines is not installed correctly...
When I try to use the iPod Update, it comes back with an "iPod service error". When iTunes opens, all seems okay (you can check songs, create libraries, etc.), but when you connect the iPod a message saying that "iTunes is not installed correctly, please re-install".
Help...
Only about 100 times... This all started with downloading the iTunes update 5.0. I guess 5.0.1 has come out since and that seems to work. iTunes comes up great, it just won't communicate with my iPod. And in the middle of all this mess one of the tries to reinstall, I ended up wiping out my iPod. It is completely empty.

following an update of itunes I keep getting the messageI "Please reinstall itunes. error 7 (windows error 5)." I Have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes 10.7.0.21 and keep getting the same error message.
A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
... But if no joy there, let's check to see if there's a .NET issue underlying this:
iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes -
Was not enough room to finish. I tried to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall but I was asked to validate an unidentified publisher and don't have a clue what that is and could not remove programs. I am not good at fixing stuff on the computer and would like some help with this. I have had iTunes for a long time without issue.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I received message iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 127).
Now I can't open iTunes and can't find previous version to reinstall . This is on my old computer with Windows XP.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem. If the article above doesn't sort you out then for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. (Similar to Apple's article but with some resources for when things go wrong). Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -

Also be aware that the cause of this error message is often Windows XP's Fast User Switching, which allows more that one user to be logged into the computer at the same time. iTunes cannot handle this and will cause the error to appear. If you can live without this feature, go to Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then 'Change the way users log on and off' and remove the checkmark from Fast User Switching.

I have the latest version of iTunes and when I went to go open it, it can't! It says: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.Error 7 (Windows error 126)" What do I do now? Should I uninstall and try installing it again? I don't want to loose any of my music and info. PLEASE HELP!
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Whenever i open itunes after installation it says error 7 itunes was not installed correctly
whenever i open itunes after installation it says error 7 itunes was not installed correctly

The section Install missing components may allow you to install Apple Application Support.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

Hey sndlot,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.
