Error message "Not Well Formed." Can this be repaired?

Help!
I have been attempting to open an InCopy (CS6) file, but it will not open. Instead, I get this error message:
"Not Well Formed"
Is there any way to repair this file? It was checked in and saved normally. If it cannot be repaired, I will lose about 1 month's worth of work because my backup has failed. I would appreciate any guidance

Firefox has no built-in email features, if you are using Firefox to access your email it will be a web based email service and email features will be part of the email service. You will need to check with the support for the email service for how to do this.

  • Client Proxy: XML message not well-formed unexpected symbol 'target

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get a client proxy to work based on several blogs (1387,1672)
    The error I'm getting now is:
    <SAP:ErrorHeader xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/exchange/MessageFormat">
      <SAP:Context />
      <SAP:Code p1="XML message not well-formed in node (7 ,49 )unexpected symbol: 'target'" p2="" p3="" p4="">PARSING.GENERAL</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:Text language="EN">Parsing error: XML message not well-formed in node (7 ,49 )unexpected symbol: 'target'</SAP:Text>
      </SAP:ErrorHeader>
    The proxy has been generated successfully
    in SXMB_ADM R/3 role is application system and uses dest://rfc_dest
    The rfc destination does not accept ?type=entry but apparently also does not need it. When I test the connection it gives a statuscode 200 (not 500)
    SLDCHECK works fine.
    Not sure where to look for this error?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hello Smitha,
    I forgot to mention that the message is still in R/3, it has not arrived in XI yet, so the error is visible in SXMB_MONI in R/3.
    Also it is just a dummy message, It only contains one node and that is called differently:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <ns1:IF021_HTTP_MSG xmlns:ns1="http://oce.com/xi/eu1/R3CCSEU/IF021_Ordrsp_TD_to_Ordrsp_CCS" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
      <IF021_DT>GetOrdRsp</IF021_DT>
      </ns1:IF021_HTTP_MSG>
    Any mappings only take place in XI itself, and even there I have no node called target.
    Regards
    Tom

  • I can not open or download files/PDF's. I keep getting the "Adobe Acrobat_Reader win binaries" message box. How can this be repaired so I can see PDF's? Thanks!

    I do not much about computers (old school), but sure could use someone's help! I cannot read anything I try to view from a website. I keep getting a Adobe box popping up that says "Adobe Acrobat_Reader win binaries". Every time I click the "Yes" button, it does nothing. Thanks in advance!

    To make a picture, like I did above - go to ACCESSORIES > SNIPPING TOOL.  When you click on snipping tool, the screen will gray out. Click and drag your cursor from one corner of the area you want to "snip" to the other - when you release, you will have a JPEG - save it as any other picture, or even email from the snip you just made.
    THat doesn't advance the PDFs trouble solution, but it's good to know!

    Hi Anu,
        I think in the select query in xslt mapping u have to mention the expression "//"  so that for each iteration it can go according the path.
      < for-each select = " //details/records">
      I have some sample code of same type...just check it..
    <xsl:template match="/">

    Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.
    Well that is the message i get. I can still use firefox(version3.6.8)

    You get that error if an extension is using an old and no longer supported method to install a plugin.
    Which plugin are you trying to install?

    I would say there is a great deal of doubt about that, especially since the subject of this thread, which you stated was the error message from FireFox is that the document is not well formed at all. I have some more wild guesses about what you've screwed up. Would you like to hear them? My best guess at this point would be that you are outputting some whitespace at the start of the output.
    Anyway, this seems pretty pointless. Your code is crap. And I really don't see the point in telling us you have an error, posting code, then having several people identify several major problems in your code and then for you tell us that your code is perfect. Your code is not perfect. It's terrible. Fix it. You've been given several ideas in this and your cross-post as to how to fix it.

  • Every time I launch Firefox it pops up an error stating "Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem."

    Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.
    The statement above is in the pop up error box every time, when I launch Firefox. If I click ok in the box Firefox then opens. How do I fix this initializing/launch problem?

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")<br />

  • Firefox/3.6.10 shows message whenever I click on an icon needing Internet access, saying 'Firefox couldn't install this item because "install rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist' and advising me to contact the author - ???

    Whenever access to the Internet is needed, clicking on any icon or link (including the Firefox icon) results in a delay of around 20 secs., followed by the appearance of the error message, headed "Malformed File". The message reads 'Firefox couldn't install this item because "install rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.'
    Clicking OK or closing the box leads to a further delay of about 20 secs. after which the required action takes place! Of course, it could be said that it's really only a delay, so I should just get used to it, but it's still a malfunction, it's a pain in the neck or another region, and I really would like to cure it. Any suggestions - please????

  • WHAT IS THE FIX TO THIS ERROR:  XML Parsing error: not well-formed (invalid token) (error code 4)

    Hello, looking to see if there's anyone out there who knows how to resolve this error from popping up when I open a previously saved adobe file with data populated inside (tax form).
    The error states:
    XML Parsing error: not well-formed (invalid token) (error code 4), line 16028, column 2 of file.
    So when I go to open this file, THAT ERROR appears.  But then allows me to view the content inside the PDF (tax form) - however it will not allow further editing - this is an issue.
    This began after working and populating certain files, then transferring to a hosting site.  Now when I open any PDF file from the hosting site, the error appears.  Could just be coincidental however throwing that out there in case it's useful.
    What causes this error & what is the fix?
    Cheers!

    Unfortunately No.  This was a tax form downloaded from IRS.gov.  The PDF file has been populated and saved off.  I believe the file has somehow become corrupt.  Curious how to cleanse the file so it opens without issue (that error message).
    Thanks for your response

  • Just downloaded mavericks, now iPhoto won't load because of an error message that says "You can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac" . I have a 17" MacBook Pro, mid 2010 model running 2.53 GHz and Intel Core I5,

    I just downloaded the new Mavericks operating sytem on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, 17" 2.53GHz, Intel Core I5 machine. My IPhoto is no longer working at all, I'm getting an error message that says - "You Can't open the application "IPhoto" because it is not supported on this type of Mac". I also loaded Mavericks onto my other MacBook Pro 17", mid 2009 model and everything works fine. I would think that the newer Mac would easily work with IPhoto. Also, when I try to download from the App Store, it asks for my Apple ID and Password, I enter it, and then the little spinning color wheel just spins forever, with nothing ever happening. I tried downloading the IPhoto Upgrade but it never actually downloads, HELP!!!

    What version of iPhoto do you have installed?  Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
    If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5.  It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

  • After getting the dreaded gray/blue screen, I tried to run disk repair on the internal disk. I got an error message saying "Disk Utility can't repair this disk and restore your backed-up files. The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely

    After getting the dreaded gray/blue screen, I tried to run disk repair on the internal disk. I got an error message saying "Disk Utility can't repair this disk and restore your backed-up files. The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely." What do I do now? This is an iMac and I'm running 10.6.8.

    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
    Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
    the drive and everything on it. See below for how to clone a drive.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
             with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
             After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
             a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
             button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
             After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
             size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
             partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
             and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
             (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
             with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
             Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
             username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
             Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
             install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
             Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
    Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
    You may be able to backup your data if you have an erased external drive you can use. Before you do the above but after you have opened Disk Utility you can try to clone your drive:
    Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
           it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    Now this will only work if the drive is accessible and can be cloned by Disk Utility. Otherwise, you would need to access your drive from another Mac that you can connect via Firewire - Target Disk Mode.
