Error Message: Scanning for Viruses

I uploaded my file on Friday Morning June 25, and I got that error message that my file was being scanned for viruses.  Does it take that long?  I have some very important files that I need to access, is there any one who can tell me if I can get someone to speed up the process or is this simply a technical issue?  Thanks.
Rob

Hi Michelle,
It's unlikely, as it was on my work computer, and I do not work at that firm
anymore, which is the whole reason I wanted to save it.  Is there any way a
technician or someone can manually override this error message/cancel the
virus scanning process, or do any sort of similar process so that I can gain
access to it.  I don't care if it's not scanned since I created and uploaded
the file, so I know there is nothing harmful on it (our systems at the firm
had an unnecessarily high level of virus protection).  I really really need
to get this file or 2 months worth of my work will be gone!
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • ClamAV fails to scan for viruses in emails [CLAWS MAIL]

I've recently switched from Thunderbird to Claws Mail and ran into one small, but annoying, problem.
I want to use ClamAV + the clamav extension for claws mail to scan for viruses, however it does seem to have permission problems.
clamd is running, user and group clamav all have the relevant permissions as far as I can tell, however upon scanning my mail, I always end up with the following error:
    Scanning error:
/home/username/.claws-mail/mimetmp/0000000e.mimetmp: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR
    Here's my clamd.conf:

  • Error while scanning for Serial-ATA devices.

There was an error while scanning for Serial-ATA devices. I'm not sure how to trouble shoot this. I believe a secondary drive in bay 2 died.

I also have just began to hit this issue.
I have 4 2T enterprise class WD drives in a raid 1+0 (or was it 0+1) config.
    Device Model: WDC WD2002FYPS-01U1B1
One disk (disk0 in bay 2) keeps disappearing. Completely. /dev/disk0 and /dev/rdisk0 vanish.
If I look at "about this mac" / "More Info" / "Serial-ATA" I get the "error while scanning ...".
If I reboot, the offending disc comes back and the raid volumes start rebuilding.
The SMART status is (reported to be) fine.
I use the 'smartmon' tools and look at the extended SMART status and the values of the counters all looks the same as the other drives. I can run an extended offline test, which takes forever to execute. disk 1 and 3 eventually finish with success (it writes this status into a SMART log area on the disc).
Disk 2 and 0 take longer. I image this is because 2 is being read to resilver 0. Currently, I am running with disk0 absent again, and disk 2s test did not complete. It claims it was aborted by the host, so I imagine the one on disk0 will claim the same after I reboot.
My system is under extended AppleCare until 16 Jan 2011, so if I can determine that this is a disc controller error, I can get it fixed. The drives have a 5 year warrantee, and are less than 1yr old, so they are covered. I just need to figure out what the issue is.
I will now reboot and recover disk0 and see if perhaps there is anything recorded in the SMART log.
There is nothing in kernel.log specific to disk0. I include the log extract here for posterity. The "speed" volume is not raid 0+1, just striped, which is why it gets aborted.

  • My iphone 3GS no longer syncs with iTunes. The phone is recognised, backs up but then I get an error message: "Waiting for changes to be applied". BUT unlike other people, it doesn't stay stuck on it, instead the process closes down immediately

    Hi all,
Apologies: I've just joined the community and didn't quite figure how to write a msg! Hope it works...
    Anyway,
I read many posts on this annoying error message (Waiting for changes to be applied) in the last 2/3 days, but they all refer to the sync staying stuck on it.
    Mine doesn't.
I read the message, then it quickly shuts down the sync and the iTunes progress bar only shows the apple...
As suggested by many, I removed voice msgs, turned off/on, tried to sync in individual stages (calendar only...) but nothing works.
I am up to date on iTunes (11.1.1.11) and have IOS 6.1.3 on my phone, to sync on a Win8 pc (all worked fine until recently).
I have had this phone for several years and it has never done this.
It worked absolutely fine, until I loaded the latest version of iTunes it seems...
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks

ALSO, on the iPod under Settings>General>iTunes Sync, you may need to back out of the "iTunes Wi-fi Sync," and reopen it to get it to update.
    (I use iTunes 11.1.5.5)

Attempting to upgarde itunes and I get an error message looking for "an alternate path to a folder containing 'iTunes.msi' location.  I've searched my hard drive and the file doesn't exist.  What to do?

This worked...found on a prior discussion:
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page)...
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
From the link above (near the top of the page)....Under 'download locations'   click on 'download@majorgeeks'
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you just downloaded and ran.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Restart your computer.
Re-download Itunes (latest version form Itunes website) and install.  It worked!

I had to restore my iMac from Time Machine. After the restoration all programs are functioning except my Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. When I start any program in the suite the error message, "Licensing for this product has stopped working." I restarted the computer and tried again to run Photoshop and the same error message appeared. The message was followed by a message that stated that I needed to contact Adobe technical support and mention Error: 150.30. I need Adobe technical support to provide me a solution for my problem so I can continue using my Adobe products installed on my computer.

Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite.  You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

I already Uninstalled and reinstalled the product and it still does not work.

    Hi,
Try to uninstall the software again and you have to manually
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/
Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility, Open it and Select the MAC HD and then click on Repair permissions.
After that try to run the cleaner tool as mentioned by kglad.
Restart machine and then try to install again.
*** Make sure , you only delete these folders if there is no other adobe applications installed on the machine. As if you have any other Adobe application of the suite ( not free applications ) then it will be a problem.

You don't. There are no virus scanners because there are no viruses that can affect an unmodified iPad.
The iPad is not a virus prone Windows PC, so doesn't suffer the same daily problems that Windows does.

  • LIV - credit memo : error message shown for unit price variances

    hi
In LIV for Credit Memo, there is no warning nor error message shown for unit price variances (price different from that in PO).  Request not allow to have unit price variances for Credit Memo. pls advice how can i do it
    thanks

    Hi,
If you are posting a credit memo against a PO you cannot post it for MORE than the value of the PO, the system gives you the message that says something like, the value entered is higher than the PO value and so the PO value has been used.
Is this giving you a particular problem?
remember that youare generating the credit memo and so you can ask the vendor for whatever you want (although you may not actually get it). It is not like entering an invoice where the vendor is specifying the values.

Suddenly my imac will not open e-mail attachments.  It scans for viruses.  When I hit "continue", nothing happens.

The problem most likely is the antivirus application. My recommendation would be following the developers instructions, uninstall the application. Most antivirus applications tend to create more problems than they solve. The best thing you can do for your system is to run Software Update frequently and let Apple's security handle any issues. I'd also strongly recommend you carefully read Thomas Reed's Mac Malware Guide.

  • P10 shutting down without bluescreen while scanning for viruses or cleaning

My P10 shuts down when I scan for viruses or cleaning the system. Since I bought the notebook it works absolutely perfect. But 2 days ago I recognized this For normal work e.g. word, excel, surfing the net and so on, nothing happens, everything works but if I begin to scan, XP shuts down. It just turns off as if you unplug it from circuit!!! Can somebody help me, wrong drivers?, false hardware? I dont know how to solve the problem!!!! Which information do you need???

    Hi Kay,
This sounds like a classic case of over-heating. Especially if you notice increased fan activity just prior to the notebook shutting down.
Try cleaning the dust and debris from the CPU heat-sink. You will find lots of posts in this forum describing ways of doing this. My personla favorite is to use a vacuum cleaner hose against the air intake grilles.
Also, it is worth making sure that the air intake grilles are not being blocked, and that sufficient air can get into the notebook to cool it properly. Don't stand your notebook on a soft surface or carpet since this will allow more dust to be sucked in.

There might be any error transaction so there suppose to be an error insystem status. If you are able to generate opportunity number after saving than please do check in GUI with transaction crmd_order and check the message detail and revert.message detail is needed in order to proceed further.
