Error on starting jnlp file: .."error recv"

Hallo,
when trying to start a Webstart application on my laptop, the following error messages appears:
"Entrance screen: *Error recv*" (translated from German)
"Eingangsbildschirm: Fehler recv" (original message)
Screen shot: [http://tobsefritz.de/files/screenshot_java_error.jpg]
It happens on every webstart file. Also official Sun files e.g.: [java.sun.com/javafx/|http://java.sun.com/javafx/]. But the problem is never permanent. After trying to start it about 6 times it runs without errors. But I have no thought for the reason.
I updated from Java JRE version 1.6.0_7 to 1.6.0_11 and then to 1.6.0_12 without improvement. I also cleared cached Webstart data.
My system:
Windows Vista Home Premim 32 Bit
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_12-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.2-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
2.1 GHz
3 GB Ram
Laptop
Best wishes,
Tobse

Is it your home computer or some work-enterprise-firewalled-noCmdPrivilege-lotOfSafetyProcessesRunning one?
I've seen enteprise policies cause any kind of trouble; the best one is a 'missing ;' scipt-engine-message on every start, still unresolved but not blocking (we just told the users to press 'OK' and stop calling HD).
The right translation is 'Splash: recv failed', you can google for it. For instance I found results about Comodo firewall like this rather than about Panda Antivirus like this .
Next time you need to translate something go to ProgramFilesDirectory /Java/jre YourVersion /lib/deploy/messages_YourLanguageISOcode .properties see property name and look for it in messages.properties. In a nutshell: messages use I18N.
Bye.
PS: had to add blanks in path in order to make italics work.

Get a copy of MPEG Streamclip and convert your MPG file to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC).  In FCE, select one of the setups that uses AIC that best matches your clip (say, 1920x1080i60).  Create a new sequence, then import the converted file.
Note that if your MPG file is actually MPEG2 you will also need the QuickTime MPEG2 Component in addition to MPEG Streamclip.
What was the source of the MPG file?  How about if you open it in QuickTime, then do Window > Show Movie Inspector.  Tell us what it says for codec/compression, frame size & frame rate.

You can't import MPEG-2 files directly to FCP X.
Can you play this file in Quicktime Player? If so, then you can use the free program MPEG Streamclip to convert this to Quicktime. Use the ProRes codec.

  • Error "get disk space file error" to install patch p158 to FM 7.2

I have Adobe FM 7.2 with the Patch B144 on Windows 7 x64 and when I try to install the new patch AdobeFrameMaker7_2p158Patcher.exe I get the error "get disk space file error" and the window freeze.

    > I have Adobe FM 7.2 with the Patch B144 on Windows 7 x64 and ...
I'm surprised that FM7 even runs native in Win7. I would expect various random problems during FM ops, and a complete inability to reliably use the Acrobat/Distiller5 that came with FM7 (although a later version of Acrobat/Distiller, separately installed, might work, esp. if using a Print-to-Ps-and-Distill workflow).
You need to install FM7 inside a virtual machine. There are several solutions (e.g. Virtual Box) for that, some of which require that the CPU have hardware virtualization. Most AMD chips do. It's often fused-off, however, on low end Intel chips (just because you didn't pay enough).
I've built a Win7 Pro64 PC, and run FM7 in XP Mode (a virtual machine that is a complete instance of Windows XP/32, and not to be confused with Compatibility Mode). XP Mode is a free download from Microsoft, still available, but only for Windows 7 Enterprise, Professional and Ultimate (not Basic, Home or not-so-Premium). Note: XPM is not supported on Windows 8, 8.1 or 10. You'll need a 3rd-party VM for that (and you'll probably have to install your own copy of XP in any 3rd party VM).
If your chip is AMD, there's a hotfix patch (KB 2519949 as I recall) you need to install before you do anything else about XPM. This patch is not included in any of the 200+ Windows Updates that a virtualized XP wants you to install, in several waves (yes, this takes a while).
    And from a related discussion:
    >> Microsoft no longer support WinXP, does it a risk to use it?
After you install XP in the VM, and apply all 200+ Windows Updates, and install the apps you need:
    disable the VM's networking capability*
or at the very least never use a browser inside the VM
if possible, let the AV software in the host OS access the VM's virtual drive
MS is going to EOL Windows 7 in 2015Q2 as well.
    * For some apps, the networking would need to be on periodically for license validation.

I got some strange behavior in my program and I don't understand why. Here is the situation.
I have 2 jnlp files with the exact same content except one character.(the name of the file in the href below codebase). The first one is running perfectly fine and the second return me an error. Here are the 2 files (HelloFrame(running fine) and HelloFrame2(returning error))
The error message is : Il manque le champ obligatoire suivant dans le fichier de lancement : <jnlp>

Ok I found a way to fix this problem but I don't like it. It's really stupid and I don't know why it would in anyway matter but it does. So if anyone could understand something of my following explication and tell me why it do it, I would be really gratefull.
Here is what cause the problem and what I did to solve it.
If I create a JNLP file and I don't upload it yet on my server (http://www.gudradain.byethost12.com/) and I try to run it from the folder in which I create it I will get an error message (which seems normal)
If I upload my JNLP file that I got an error message sometime before on my server and I then try to run it I still get an error message (which I don't understand why because the file is on the server now so it should be able to access it)
But if I create an exact copy of this file and I put it on the server and then test it (so I didn't get any error message before I test it) now it will work
What I realize is that if I ever get an error message with a JNLP file that mean my JNLP file is screw and will always return an error message even if I correct this error. WHY!!!???

First of all thank you for helping me to find out the problem. I did not expect you to solve my problem. I just would like to post a thread to finding out the solution or defining whether it is a bug. Anyway when I create jnlp file with Netbeans using the wizard that problem was solved. Then it gave me another problem:

  • "Attempt to position before start of file" -Error Message preventing Bounce

I am running Logic Express 7 on my G5. After creating, recording, and saving a project file, I have been receiving the following error message whenever I try to bounce:
Attempt to position before start of file
    result code = -40
    As my file starts exactly at 1 1 1 1 ... I don't understand why this message occurs.. Can someone explain/assist ?

No. The bounce dialog box is showing the same start and stop times as the track. The real issue appears to have been that I had two different separate track selections in the same track window..(due to stopping the recording process, and restarting again later..) Now that I have merged them into one the problem has been solved ! Thanks for your help anyways.

  • Getting Error in CMC - source file error. [No such file or directory]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]

    Dear All,
I am able to schedule the Crystal report successfully means mail gets auto triggered as we set in SCHEDULE option. But when we tried to use the notification option we get the status as FAILED. nd in details we get "source file error. [No such file or directory]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]".
But still a mail gets triggred and each and every person will get mail. but the issue is notification will not work properly and no notification mail. And the status is despayed as FAILED with "source file error. [No such file or directory]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]" this message.

  • Web starting jnlp files w/out access to Internet

I am writing a JavaFX program and am running into difficulties when trying to run from a browser since the created jnlp file is trying to access files from the dl.javafx.com website. Why are the javafx-rt.jnlp and other files like dtfx.js not part of the JavaFX download? Is it possible to get a download of all the jnlp and js files needed to run on a detached network?

Don't know much about JavaFX, but if a standard (meaning 'online') JWS can download everything needed then any browser can do just the same.
Go home, download the main jnlp (use the magical 'Save As...' function) and any pointed resource, change jnlp's codebase, put everything on your server and it's done, plain and simple.
Even easier: whatever your app does I'm preatty sure it can work as a stand-alone app, so you already have any jar you may need.
    Bye.

  • Error JCo starting .jar file

    Dear all,
I am new to Java, but I try to implement a small application which talks to our SAP. I am working with eclipse 3.3 and I've installed JCO 2.1.8. I modified Example1 a little bit and everything works fine when I start my program within eclipse with run as->java application. I added the sapjco.jar file to the build path of my project. I also added C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 to my windows path variable and copied *.dll to system32. When I export my project as a .jar file and try to start it with
    java -cp C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8\sapjco.jar;. -jar Jco.jar
    I get the error message

But I can start the java program with
    java -cp C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8\sapjco.jar;. Jco
when I am in the directory with the .class file.
Whats wrong with my .jar file?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rolf

    Hi,
    thanks for your answers.
C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 containing sapjco.jar is already added to the path environment variable.
    summary:
-I installed JCO in folder C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8
    -I copied *.dll to Windows\system32
-I added  C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 to the path environment variable
-sapjco.jar is in the building path
-<i>I can start the "normal Java .class file"</i> with java -cp C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8\sapjco.jar;. Jco
-I've created a jar file with the export dialog. I just followed the steps and selected the starting class "Jco".
-In the directory containing the jar file I tried to start it with the following commands
      java -cp C:\Programme\sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8\sapjco.jar;. -jar Jco.jar
      java -jar Jco.jar
but I always get the message
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/mw/jco/IMetaData
    Any further ideas?

  • Error when recording f4v-files: Error from libmp4.so: No Space left in the stsd box.

We are recording live streams on a Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.3 r824. In general, everything works fine, so there are no appliaction-issues. But sometimes (it is not reproducable yet) a stream stops recording without any notice or event in the application. All we can find is such a message in our core.log:
2010-03-05 03:30:00 4747 (e)2611178 Error from libmp4.so: No Space left in the stsd box. -
    2010-03-05 03:30:00 4747 (e)2611423 Failed to record [...]16891_14351_RGtBCODxPR4cM8QfML9CuxqhHqutMwWX.f4v (Unknown Error). -
Can anyone give me a hint, where i could start searching for the cause of this error?
These streams are in general sent by Adobe Media Live Encoder.
    Thanks in advance
    Suha

You're running out of sample description spaces in your recording of an F4V - this is presumably because you're splicing together different H264 encodings or other types of media.  No matter, you can configure this value up from it's default of 10 - check out Server.xml in your configs and you'll find this section
    <Recording>
<!-- Maximum ELST entries in a recording.  ELST entries are used when there     -->
<!-- are gaps in a kind of content.  Gaps occur during an append to the file    -->
<!-- or when content like video ends while other content proceeds.  If more    -->
<!-- gaps or appends occur than configured here, recording would terminate    -->
<!-- Making this value too high takes up unnecessary space in each recorded file-->
                        <!-- Default value is 100                            -->
                        <MaxELSTEntries>100</MaxELSTEntries>
<!-- Each change in codec for a content type, like two different video codecs    -->
<!-- takes a sample description.  All space for sample descriptions is made on    -->
<!-- file creation.  If codec type changes more than descriptions available    -->
<!-- recording will terminate.  Adding too many descriptions takes unnecessary    -->
<!-- space for every file record.  Default is 10 for each type            -->
                        <MaxDataSampleDescriptions>10</MaxDataSampleDescriptions>
                        <MaxAudioSampleDescriptions>10</MaxAudioSampleDescriptions>
                        <MaxVideoSampleDescriptions>10</MaxVideoSampleDescriptions>
                    </Recording>
You'll want to increase the appropriate SampleDescription Max.  Not sure which it is yet (audio/video/data) but in theory you can increase any or all as needed.  These boxes are set in size when you start your recording so all recordings will bloat very slightly to cover this case that most users don't run into, but feel free to set the SampleDescription limits higher and you should stop seeing this.

  • Incompletely deployed packages Errors While Starting JBoss and Errors while Accessing LiveCycle Services

After Configuring JBoss 4.2 for LiveCycle 8.2 using preinstallsingle.pdf  documentation on Linux platform . Deployed the following Jars to Jboss deploy/

Statred the JBoss and successfully initialized  the adobe database schema using browser. That made me sure that my .ear are deployed successfully.
