Error on viewing an uploaded Xdo file of a converted XML report

1. Report converted from XML to BI publisher following the steps mentioned in the Oracle® Business Intelligence New Features Guide
Release 10.1.3.4.1
2. Uploaded the generated xdo file from the BI publisher screen "Upload a Report" option
3. The upload is successful. But when the report is clicked for viewing, it displays the error
"The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator"
"oracle.apps.xdo.dataengine.Parameter.getParameterDataType()I"
4. I set the debug level in the System Maintenance -> Server Configuration-> debug level option of the Admin Tab and bounced the OC4J
5. The following error displayed in the OC4J start screen

Could someone help me out?

Hello Tim / Experts,
Running EBS report in BI publisher
Followed the steps mentioned in the Standard Oracle docs/guides:
1.     Change the output format of the report in concurrent program definition to produce XML output
2.     Create the Data Definition by registering the concurrent program shortname in the Data definition of BI publisher
3.     Create RTF template
4.     Upload RTF template into the template manager of BI publisher to display the output from the concurrent request.
The step3 to create the RTF template has not been given much coverage in any of the oracle docs/guides
The requirement is for the RTF to have the same layout as the original rdf so that it displays the output in the same fashion. In order to produce the rtf file followed the steps below:
Converting Reports from Oracle Reports to Oracle BI Publisher
1.     Saved the 6i RDF report in 10g report builder
2.     From the Tools menu and File conversion sub-menu, converted the report in XML format
3.     Ran the conversion script, with the input file as the XML file saved above
java.exe -classpath ……………………\xdocore.jar; ……………………\collections.jar; ……………………\aolj.jar; ……………………\xmlparserv2-904.jar oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.BIPBatchConversion -source ……………………\input -target ……………………\output -debug
4.     The conversion script above produced the following outputs:
•     Report definition file REPORT.xdo
•     DataTemplate REPORT_template.xml
•     PL/SQL package specification REPORTS.pls
•     PL/SQL package REPORTB.pls
•     RTF Layout Template REPORT.rtf
•     Log file REPORT.log
5.     The RTF Layout Template REPORT.rtf had field orientation changed from horizontal to vertical i.e. the fields in the original report were in one straight horizontal line, whereas the converted report output rtf had all these fields arranged in a vertical fashion
6.     Compiled the packages into database
7.     Uploaded the REPORT.rtf of steps 5 into the template manager of BI publisher
8.     Ran the concurrent request
The report failed with warnings, not surprising since the layout was disoriented
Queries:
1)     Which is the easiest method of producing the RTF template (that has an identical layout of the rdf report) ? Any document which explains all this ?
2)     Steps to create the RTF template
3)     To attach format triggers and other things which are not supported by conversion tool ?
Thanks
Anupam

  • "old" website is viewed after uploading new files

I cannot figure this out, but my iWeb says (over and over and over) that it is correctly uploading updated files to my host but apparently not. If I go to my own URL to view it only the old site shows up. I have moved the folder where the site is located to the desktop and even temporarily trashed the "old" files and yet only the old pages show up. Any ideas?

Which version of Firefox are you using? It may be how Firefox manages color. You could try this FF add-on: Color Management :: Firefox Add-ons.
Or use web-safe colors as discussed on this site: http://www.iwebformusicians.com/WebMusic/FontsandColors.html.

  • Error while trying to Upload the modified standard uwl.standard.xml

    Hello Forum,
I am working on the UWL customization. I have a situation like i have to remove the links that appear in the ViewDetail of any UWL request. When we open any of the request and VIew the details of it we see the links in the right such as:
    You can also:
    Add Memo
    Display Details in SAP Gui
    Attachments Manager
    Create Ad-Hoc Request
    View History
Now the requirement is to remove the underlined actions. I read from some forum that i have to comment the actions those were defined in the uwl.standard.xml
I have commented the actions in the uwl.standard.xml and now when i'm trying to upload the file i get the error message saying:
Wed Sep 10 14:22:10 CDT 2008 : Operation not allowed on standard configuration:uwl.standard
How do i upload this modified file? Please suggest me.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Krishna,
Instead of modifying the UWL configuration file, this is possible by changing some property in the UWL iView itself.
Open the UWL iView --> Goto property called List of UWL Actions to Be Excluded --> Enter followUp,launchSAPDetails, manageAttachments, uwlTaskWizard, viewHistory and save your changes.
Regarding your error, what you can do is while upload "use Upload with High priority". If that does not work then backup the standard configuration, delete the changes, clear the UWL cache and then upload your new custom configuration as uwl.standard.

  • How to give the unix server path while uploading a file

    Hi All,
Am very new to this file operations in Oracle.
here i have a requirement like we need to upload table to unix server using oracle. I have read about File operations in Oracle but in that i did not understand one point like how and where to give the unix server path .. like username@servername and Path where that file needs to be stored.
I have googled for file operations in oracle.. in that there are asking me to create one object like as follows
Create or replace directory rtvms2 as 'MYDIR:'
The MYDIR: i need to use while uploading the file .
    UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR:','Report.txt','W');
My Question is how and where should i give my unix server information .?
and how and in which step oracle connect to unix server and upload the file.?
Can any one please help me.
    Thanks
    Sree

    you're close...
(this example shows it for a windows server, but you just replace the windows directory path with a unix server path)
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser; Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default.
For security reasons, Oracle requires a directory object and it is that object that points to the actual path (it's up to you to make sure that path is valid and exists on the operating system). Then the object can have read and write permissions given to relevant database users as appropriate i.e. you may want one user to only be able to read files from that location whilst another user can read and write. You still need to ensure operating system level permissions exist for that path for the operating system user under which oracle was installed (on unix that's likely to be an "oracle" user).

  • I generate file (PDF, HTML, etc) the report is empty but I run in paper

    Hi
    I use oracle Report10g
When I generate file (PDF, HTML, etc) the report is empty but I run in paper design show data, the report in the paper design show many pages, when generate file show only the information of the margin in the main seccion and the body is empty,
    Thanks

Thanks Daniel for pointing that out.  Though you answer is helpful but I am not sure if that is what I would want to do.
The link you provide for csv says "For each report there's an _report.xdo file that contains the XML structure of the report... "   It suggests I modify the .xdo file for each report.  I currently have 16 reports.
Does it mean I modify the .xdo file for all 16  and what happens if someone creates a 17th report ?
Also, what if I run the same report using different input parameters will that change the xml structure for the report  and therefore will need me to modify the .xdo again ? (I think it should not change the xml structure so the answer should be "NO" to that, unless I change the structure of the report).
Finally, the link you provide says after doing what it suggest  "Now log back into BI publisher and select the report. You should now be able to see that CSV is now an option."
CSV should be an option where ? on what screen/page ?  Maybe PDF is already an option for me that I cant see because I do not know where that option is.
I was hoping there would be something I could do on the xdo_metadata sheet (in the data constraints section or elsewhere) OR in BI Publisher itself as some property of the report.
I will try out what you suggest any ways.

  • Firefox 5.0.1 will not allow me to upload any files. I receive an error message, though I know the files are vaild.

Firefox 5.0.1 for Mac OS 10.6.8 is not allowing me to upload attachments. I get a pink band with the message "Files with errors will not be uploaded". When I click on the View Error link, it tells me "This file couldn't be added because it appears to be empty (0 bytes). " These are valid jpeg files that I have attached many times before, so I know there is no problem with the file. Also, Firefox has recently given me an error message about restarting in 32-bit mode to accommodate a plug-in. I have ticked the '32-bit" option in the Get Info window of the Firefox application.

I have been unable to drag and drop large files, even onto the Desktop, let alone onto my NAS - I get the dragged files freezing in the middle of the screen or I get the 'unable to copy / file in use' error.
Talking to Apple Support, they had me set up a new User, and then within that new account, the trouble went away. This pointed to the StartUp items being run in the original troublesome account,
I have deleted all of my 3rd Party programs and then installed them one by one until the problem came back, and in my case (Macbook Air 5,2 running 10.10.3 Yosemite) I found it was DropBox causing the conflict. I have DropBox running in the Menu Bar (top of screen) and disabling sync (bottom left corner) stopped the file copy problem. Try disabling DropBox sync is file copying is failing?

  • Returning back from viewing an Uploaded file

    Hi all,
I have successfully created a page using OA Framework's File Upload/Download feature. It seems to work great except when I click on the hypertext 'View' to view the uploaded file, after viewing the file (.txt) I cannot go back to the Upload page.
Back buttons give me an error. Is there a way to go back to the Upload page?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

What steps are needed to make this possible?
    Hi South,
Welcome to the discussions and the AppleWorks forum.
Essentially all you need to do is Save the file in a folder to which the 'User' logged in on the computer has Read access.
AppleWorks files are always editable, so anyone opening the file on this machine will be able to make changes to it. You can't prevent the changes, but you can prevent them from being Saved by placing the file in a folder to which only the Owner has Write access, and Others have only Read access.
As your OPAC machine is already connected to the server, it already has a 'User' account with which to make the connection. Whoever does the File server/Network administration in your building will know how to create a folder for which you (or whoever will make changes to the database) are the owner, with full Read/Write access, and the 'User' of the OPAC machine is a User or member of a Group with only Read access.
    Regards,
    Barry
