when i log in to sql plus 8

Dr. Chaudhary,
Based on the [lack of] information you have provided, I can only make some guesses. To increase the chances of getting an answer, I suggest you post the following information:
1. Entire error message and stack trace you are getting.
2. The part of your java code where the problem is occurring.
3. Oracle database version you are using.
4. Java version you are using.
5. JDBC driver you are using.
6. Platform you are using.
Good Luck,
Avi.

  • Error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: , ERROR: ORA-12547

    We had systems problems and had to reformat our system disc. (This is on our Development system)
    Now I'm trying to (re-) configure all of the parameters and packages necessary for the Database which is still resident on the box.
    Our Oracle Database is intact.
    I've specified all of the Kernell Parameters, and
    I've installed all of the packages EXCEPT one... compat-libstdc++
    I could not find this package using the YUM INSTALL command.
    Likewise I could not find the same package on our Production System,
    and our Production System is working fine.
    But something is definitely missing, because I'm getting this error:
    error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    ERROR:
    ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
    Also
    On our Production system I found this link in the /usr/lib directory:
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jul 16 2007 libaio.so.1 -> libaio.so.1.0.1
    But
    On our Development system, (The one I'm having the problem with),
    This file does not exist
    Can you please suggest to me what it is I need to do?
    Thanks Gary.

    Did you install the libaio package? If this is a 64-bit system, make sure you install the 64-bit version of this package also.

    please guide me how to solve this error.
    i checked the sid , service name etc. seems to be ok. ( Also compared with other two databases )

    you can turn on net tracing by setting the following sqlnet.ora parameters:
    TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = c:\temp
    TRACE_UNIQUE_CLIENT = on
    trace_level_client = admin
    then review trace files or send them to oracle support to see the cause of this error

    Hi All,

    any idea to fix it?

    Hi,
    The Mobile Manager Didn't delete/create properly the mobile user.
    The Mobile Manager is an J2EE Application which connects to the Mobile Repository using the Oracle JDBC Thin Driver, it is possible that when some users were deleted/created, the http connection or JDBC connection was cut.
    Can you try to reset the metadata cache, delete the mobile user, create and configure this mobile user then Synchronize it.
    It will make a Complete refresh but it should synchronize fine after.
    Regards.
    Marc

  • Error executing query using oracle XA datasource

    Hi,
    The following is the error I am getting while trying to access a resource from a datasource. The same code works fine if I use a normal datasource(non-xa datasource)
    Configuration: WSAD 5.1 running over jre ver 1.4 and oracle 8.1.7. I have put classes12.zip in the classpath of the server.
    Code:
    DBSelect sel = new DBSelect();
    sel.setDataSourceName("jdbc/ds1");
    sel.setInitialContextFactory("com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory");
    sel.setProviderUrl("iiop://localhost:2809/");
    sel.setCommand("select 1 from dual");
    sel.execute();
    System.out.println(sel.getConnectionSpec());
    if (sel.onRow()) {
    do {
    System.out.println(sel.getColumnAsString(1));
    } while (sel.next());
    sel.close();
    I have also tried using the beolow mentioned code, which aso fails with a similar exception
              DataSource ds = (DataSource)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ctx.lookup("jdbc/ds1"), DataSource.class);
              ds.setLogWriter(new PrintWriter(System.out));
              Connection con = ds.getConnection();
              Statement s = con.createStatement();
              ResultSet rs = s.executeQuery("select 1 from dual")
    I will really appreciate if someone can help me here to solve this problem

    I am facing the same problem..... I always get the answers to my problem by reading the forums.. This time I am really not lucky enough. I am using Oracle 8.1.7. Does it have anything to do with version. I have used both ojdb14.jar and classes12.jar to get the same error output.
    Anybody has answer to it?

  • ORA-12154 using Oracle.DataAccess.Client

    I am experiencing an ORA-12154 exception when accessing a remote Oracle database using ADO.NET called from c# code running on a Windows 2003 system. The code functions correctly on our internal (remote) database using the Oracle XE 10.2 Client. At the customer site with Oracle 10.1 Client the same code generates the 12154 error.
    At the customer site, I can connect without errors with the customer's connection information (Hostname, port, SID) using Navicat 8 Lite for Oracle and SQL-Plus. I can also connect with no problems using ODBC (except I can't use ODBC because it causes other problems when accessed from ASP.NET).
    The connection string is correctly formulated i.e. "Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myServerName)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=myServiceName)));User Id=myUserName;Password=myPassword"
    When I run TNSPING on the client's system I get the following result (server and SID name altered for confidentiality reasons):
    Adapter TNSNAMES zur Auflösung des Alias benutzt
    Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myServerName)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = dedicated) (SERVICE_NAME = myServiceName)))
    OK (10 ms)
    I can't determine anything about the listener since I don't have access to teh datbase server.
    To summarize, my .net code fails when I use the Oracle Data Access Client, but works fine with ODBC, and Navicat, SQL Plus also work fine.
    Can anyone suggest the cause and possible solution for this problem? - thanks in advance for any help :)

    And since it never resolved that on the client side, there is no need to look to anything (like the listener) on the host side. You never got out of your driveway, so there is no need to see if the entrance to your destination is open.

  • Loadjava error: ORA-29540: class oracle/aurora/rdbms/DbmsJava does not exist

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a simple Java stored procedure running 8.1.6. When using loadjava (c:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java -classpath .;d:\orant8i\lib\aurora_client.jar;d:\orant8i\javavm\lib\aurora.zip;d:\orant8i\sqlj\lib\translator.zip;d:\orant8i\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip oracle.aurora.server.tools.loadjava.LoadJavaMain -u system/manager -f -v Test.class), I get the above error. The problem: file DbmsJava exists in the included aurora.zip package. To verify this, I checked the zip file, and I successfully compiled a test program importing the class.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bernd

    I also tried another approach to create a Java stored procedure, and got an error which I think has the same cause as above:

    create java class using bfile(dir, 'Test.class');
    create procedure test is language java name 'Test.test()';
    call test();

    Hello Hemant,
    you can't connect via the listener unless the database is up.You mean if we are going to connect @, db must be mount/open? We can'nt connect with @ in nomount state?
    But i think we can connect in nomount using @, if we are having an SID name in SID_LIST of listener.ora?
    Please correct me, if i am wrong.

  • How to get more detailed error messages when using Oracle JDBC

    Here are some typical Oracle error messages that leave you guessing :
    "ORA-01722: invalid number"
    "ORA-00904: invalid column name"
    Is there any way to find out which number or which column name is invalid ?
    Why doesn't Oracle include this information in the error messages ? If it knows the number or column is invalid, it must know the number or column name !

    Launch the query under sqlplus, it'll tell u :
    SQL> select user_id, userna from dba_users ;
    select user_id, userna from dba_users
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00904: invalid column name

  • Error ORA-02063, using DB LINK

    hi,
    i've created a DB_LINK from FINANCEIRA.WINXP.LAPTOP Database (_SERVER 01_) to FINANCEIRA.WINXP Database (_SERVER 02_).
    The fact is that i have an application connected at the FINANCEIRA.WINXP.LAPTOP side that makes SELECT and INSERT calls to FINANCEIRA.WINXP using the DB_LINK. When an INSERT statement is sent by the application from the FINANCEIRA.WINXP.LAPTOP to the FINANCEIRA.WINXP, i receive an error message: ORA-02063, occurring in the table's Primary Key. When i send the same statement by SQLPLUS from the FINANCEIRA.WINXP.LAPTOP side to the FINANCEIRA.WINXP, it works fine.
    somebody can help me ?

    let's make a note...
    at the first time, the INSERT operation works fine, even by Application or by SQLPLUS, both been sent from the FINANCEIRA.WINXP.LAPTOP side to the FINANCEIRA.WINXP side. So, at the first time we have a row inserted successfuly.
    At the second time, i have this error mentioned above when executed by Application. If i execute by SQLPLUS, it works.
    what conclusion we can have about this ?

  • Error During Install using Oracle DB

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to use an Oracle database with IDM. Our DBA used the provided script (create_waveset_tables.oracle) to set up the database, we're using the login/password that the DBA set up, I've copied the oraclejdbc.jar file to the /WEB-INF/lib directory before lauching this part of the install wizard. I get the following message:
    com.waveset.exception.ConfigurationError: Identity Manager version 5.0 requires a schema update.
    It's connecting to the Database. If I change the login or password, I get an error message saying that it can't connect. Any ideas? Am I missing something?
    Thanks!
    Bill

    Hello prabhnag,
    U might be getting the this error when trying to connect to the backend oracle database due to the following reasons :
    1. You might not have configured the oraclejdbc driver (classes12.zip) properly.
    Action : Rename the "classes12.zip" file which can be found within the oracle installation in the ../jdbc/lib/ folder to "oraclejdbc.jar" and place it in the folder ../idm/WEB-INF/lib before proceeding to the Launch Setup screen in Sun IDM.
    Note : Sun IDM supports Oracle 8i/9i
    U can also download the relevant drivers from the following URL : http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    2. Other possibility might be ........
    The database is most likely not running on the Server. A listener alone does not provide a database connection; the database instance must also be started.
    Action : Check if all the relevant services are started before proceeding.
    3. Other option is
    Go thru the entire setup once again by following a proper checklist of all items like
    Oracle Service Names u have configured :
    Port Numbers :
    DB User Name/Password u would like to use for connection :
    etc
    I hope the above points might help
    Thanks

  • Database Startup Error - Ora-00600 on Oracle 8.0 in Windows 2000

    While Installing I Am getting Error Message Ora-00600
    The Database is opened. But the user cannot connect to the database.
    While trying to connect the system shows the above error number. It also give SMON error.

    I think, I already know the answer from Oracle Support. Version 8.0 (Database) was never supported on WIN2000, only 8.0.6 client. Before starting an installation it's always a good idea to check the software and hardware requirements in the installation guide.
