Error retrieving repository connection patchset 10.2.0.4
I choose install grid control 10.2.0.4 using a existing database, I execute a plan of guide:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/install.102/e10953/installing_em.htm#CHDCECAG
Installing 'Software-Only' and Configuring Later (GUI Mode) - Installing Enterprise Manager Grid Control Using an Existing Database.
In point 7, when apply patchet 10.2.0.4. I find error: error retrieving connection (logs of oraInventory). I saw error in file emoms.properties, the string connection to database not exists or it was wrong.
If follow the plan point to point , I dont understand why is the error.
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards
Maxi

Error retrieving JDBC connection from remote client (WLS 10.0)
Hallo,
I get an error when I try to retrieve a JDBC connection from a WLS datasource using a remote client. My Weblogic server version is: WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 Thu Oct 18 20:17:44 EDT 2007 1005184
I use the following code to retrieve the JDBC connection:
Hashtable<String,String> ctxEnv = null;
InitialContext ctx = null;
DataSource dataSource = null;
Connection con = null;
ctxEnv = new Hashtable<String,String>();
ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
ctx = new InitialContext(ctxEnv);
dataSource = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("datasources/XXX");
con = dataSource.getConnection();
When I execute this code with the weblogic.jar in the classpath everything works fine. However, when I put the wlfullclient.jar in the classpath which I created using the JAR Builder Tool I get the follwoing error:

Can please anyone tell me what's going on there? What really astonishes me is that the class mentioned in the stacktrace is neither present in the wlfullclient.jar nor in the weblogic.jar, but using the weblogic.jar everything works fine. Any hint would be appreciated so much ...
Here is the log written when is created the wlfullclient.jar:

Hi. You should open an official support case,

external client JDBC with the client jar.Actually, I misspoke. I think we do supply a client
jar, and that may be true
what I said, but I see you're making your own. Can
you find out what jar you're
loading the InstrumentationSupport class from? That's
the original location of
the error, and that class doesn't exist in 10.0.Hi Joe, thanks for your reply.
First of all, let me clarify what we did and why we did it: We have a stand-alone client application that needs to communicate with a Weblogic server using the t3 protocol (we don't want IIOP or HTTP tunneling). According to the official BEA documentation (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/basics.html and http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/t3.html) we needed to create the wlfullclient.jar file. We did this using the Weblogic JAR Builder Tool (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/jarbuilder.html). Unfortunatley we discovered the problem mentioned in my original post when we tried to run the client with that wlfullclient.jar.
Regarding your classloading question: The InstrumentationSupportImpl class is located in the wlfullclient.jar, so it does exist in WLS 10.0 (it is also contained in the weblogic.jar). Unfortunately this JAR does not contain the required class "weblogic.diagnostics.instrumentation.InstrumentationDebug". I searched for this class and found it in the OSGI module "com.bea.core.diagnostics.instrumentor_1.0.1.0.jar" shipped with the Weblogic server. Obviously the JAR Builder Tool did not include the contents of this OSGI bundle into the wlfullclient.jar. I tried to include this OSGI bundle into the classpath of the client app manually (just for testing purposes), but this onyl resultet in another NoClassDefFoundError. This time the class "com.bea.objectweb.asm.Constants" could not be found.
What astonishes me is the fact that the connection retrieval works fine when we only have the weblogic.jar in the client applications classpath, but fails when we have the wlfullclient.jar in the classpaht. It seems that the t3 communication is handled completely different, depending on what JARs I have in the classpath. Also, JMS communication works fine in both cases (i.e. for the weblogic.jar and the wlfullclient.jar). The only thing that causes problems (at least as far as we have discovered) is getting a JDBC connection from a datasource. I simply fail to see why this is the case.
Best regards,
DirkInteresting. I hope the official support case solves your problem.
I would like to dig further, but it's too far afield for me with
the workload I have at the moment.

Hi Experts,
I am using MDM 7.1 version(build version 7.1.01.46) with MaxDb database. After creating the new repository I am trying to connect to repositiry with user "Admin" with blank password. But I getting error like "Repository Connect failed, Error:Account Locked". Please suggest me the solution If anyone faced same problem.
Thanks,
RDNPrasadHi,
Just Check your mds.ini settings. and do unmount nad then mount the MDM server again.
Try to Monitor the Authentication for Particular repositry which you want to connect to your MDM 7.1 server.
hope it helps.

Earlier before patching to BP02 in weblogic Datasources we have
Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource
But when I was providing this value in weblogic.profile during patching attribute name "operationsDB.driver=oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource ", I am getting this error
/data/oim/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/server/setup/deploy-files/setup.xml:204: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource cannot be cast to java.sql.Driver
So I changed this value to "operationsDB.driver=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver" and it runs fine. Patch completed successfully.
Is there any issue with this Driver Class Name mismatch, so I am getting this error? I have also tried for all Datasources same Driver Class Name but invain.
Regards,
AmitHi Bikash,
Nothing is changed between network/firewall. From Database machine I am able to see tnsping running fine. From weblogic admin console I have checked the connectivity of different datasource is successfull. Right now I have these datasources, all have Driver Class Name=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver.
EDNDataSource
EDNLocalTxDataSource
mds-oim
mds-owsm
mds-soa
oimJMSStoreDS
oimOperationsDB
OraSDPMDataSource
SOADataSource
SOALocalTxDataSource
You mean For all the datasources I need to make it oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource. I make it this also but no success.
Also tell me..Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Providers >OIMAuthenticationProvider here also I need to provide Xadatasource Driver name. -

Error occurred on repository connection
I'm using Oracle 9i2 on Win 2000 server. I launched the standalone OEM and created a user to own the standalone repository, then i created a taplespace for standalone repository.
My problem is that when i started a standalone application such as SQL Analyze and entered a username, password, and service, i got the following error:
"A repository couldn't be created because the user "AAA" lacks the following privileges or roles or roles required to create & support a management server repository: EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE."
The following are Roles & Previliges for that user:
ROLE: CONNECT , SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE both are set to admin option
SYSTEM PRIVILEGES: create any procedure, create procedure, create trigger... and more. all are set to admin option.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.In SQL Analyze GUI, I can't let sys to log in as sysdba or sysoper.
Beside, I have followed the configuration guide in Tuning Pack and ran a script named v***.sql, and grand that privilidge to sys. while not luck yet -
Repository Error Message Closed Connection
Often when I have the OWB Client open with 2 hours for example (without work) and I start again to work with it I receive the error:
Internal Error: SQL Exception. Please contact Oracle Support with the stack trace and details on how to reproduce it.
Repository Error:SQL Exception..
Class Name: CacheMediator.
Method Name: executeTransactionControlStatement.
Method Name: -1.
Repository Error Message: Closed Connection.
And I cant make COMMIT...
Why is it???
I want to the Connection to OWB doesnt close. Could I configure a parameter????Hi!
The results of these queries are:

It has all the UserName with Profile = DEFAULT

I think the problem could be the firewall...
I explained the problem our System Administrator and He said me that He increased the TIMEOUT of the sqlnet1 protocol to 8 hours but we have the same problem...
Do He Have to configure other parameter?

Hi All,
Recently we upgraded OS from Windows 32 Bit to Linux 64 Bit and we installed OWB 11g R2 and we exporeted metadata of OWB 11g R1 and imported to OWB 11g R2. Every thing is working fine.
But weekly twice we are facing issue as follows: When we are trying to redeploy the few objects at Control Centre Manager:
REPOSITORY CONNECTION ERROR:+
The connection to the Repository was Lost, becasue of the following Database Error : Closed Connection+
Exit OWB without coming+
Let us know how can we avoid the above error?
Regards,
AvaGood afternoon,
What is the exact version of the database that you're trying OWB on?
If it's a 10gR2 database, at present there is no production OWB version that is certified to work on that.

Help - LCM Utility Error - Could not connect to source - Null
Has anyone successfully used LCM to extract BI+ objects to files under 9.3.1?
I've configured it as per the doc, and it seems to connect to HSS Ok, but fails to connect to BI+ even though I've used the Project name and App ID as shown in Shared Services.

Error retrieving user by identity
Hi guys,
I have some weird issue.
I started to have issues with some user which is supposed to connect to Planning 9.3.1. The user is not provisioned directly; it is a member of 2 groups which are provisioned.
There are other users in those 2 groups and they have no similar problems. It started when I was able to connect to planning, but wasn’t able to see HBRs. I tried deprovisioning, deactivating, etc., it didn’t help. Then I deleted the user and created it again. From that point when I try to connect to HyperionPlanning I receive the following error message:
Failed to sync with user provisioning. Check Planning log for details
I started Planning in console mode and at the time of login I receive the following message:
Error retrieving user by identity
Embedded HBR initialized.
com.hyperion.planning.DuplicateUserException: Another user with the name ANT2122
already exists.
It looks like traces of the deleted user stuck in the repository. Do you know how can I fix it/clear it up?
Thanks a lot,
DmitryOk, i cleared the planning repository from that user, more specifically the following tables:
HSP_GROUP
HSP_USERSINGROUP
HSP_USERS
HSP_OBJECT
HSP_USER_PREFS
HSP_MRU_MEMBERS
HSP_ACCESS_CONTROL
restarted the services and it came back to work.

Hi, does anybody know if it's possible to enter Sales Orders per Customer Item instead our own internal item number? In our Sales Order Organizer form I can not see nor enable the column "Customer Item". Thanks, David.
