Error saving a Production Order for Development Trials

Hi all,
I'm trying to simulate a special process I have in one of mine SU's.
When we do trials process we use a specific order type, with a settlement rule and a specific cost centre and we need to create the routing and BOM inside the order. We can even introduce some text items as we are doing trials.
The problem is that after doing all those steps when I try to save the order I get the following ERROR MESSAGE:
System ID....   S7T
Client.......   010
User.....   PONCIANO_A
Transaction..   CO01
Update key...   475073C8187700A500000000913740B3

Completed....   30.11.2007, 15:58:56
Error info...   00 001: Error creating batch number
Does any one of you have an idea of the cause of this?
Thanks and regards to everyone!

Joel,
Looks like the error is caused during creation of Batch for the order. In the order type dependent parameters, make the defination that Batch is not created.

  • Disallow saving of production order if there is error calculating cost

    Hi Gurus,
We have a requirement that when saving a production order, an error message should appear if there is no planned cost for the material. As of now there is only a warning message that says "Error when calculating cost". How to make it an error message instead so the user cannot save this production orders?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi,
Develop a enhancement in BADI Workorder_update. It has two methods AT SAVE and AT RELEASE where the ABAP program can be written. You can stop creation or release  of the order if field LPLPR - MBEW is blank.

  • Error while converting planned order to production order for config materia

    Hi experts,
While converting a planned order to production order for a configurable material.I am getting the following error meassage. Message No.CO684,
"You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock"
( DiagnosisThe component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because make-to-order production and engineer-to-order production cannot be executed with this order.
A possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a sales-order/project, where an account assignment to a sales order/project is not allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type. This is inconsistant.
System ResponseThe following responses are possible:
    Order processing is cancelled.
The system resets the special stock indicator back to the original value.
    Procedure
    Choose another order type).
I have checked some of the threads related to this error. But no where there is any solution. Please tell me if there is any settings to make so as to work on this scenario.
    Thanks,
    Sham

    Hi,
This will be a MTO scenario. Please check your requirement type,Requirement class and strategy type config along with your Item category and schedule line category from SD.
Also check your Production order type config and settlement profiles.
I mean to say that you need new production order type to be configured for specific above mentioned combination.
Are you working on a production system..?? is it the first time you are creating the order for this config material..??

  • Error in GR for a Production Order for a particular material....Unique case

    Hi Dear Gurus,
I am facing the following problem:
There is a production order for a material (say X, matrl type FERT) of order qty 21EA. First we did GR of qty 9EA. but when we are going to do GR for the rest of the qty i.e.12EA it is not happening system showing Error message " Account XXXXX requires an assignment to a CO object".
But while we are going to do GR for the rest 12Ea qty in two parts i.e. first by doing GR of 11EA then 1EA system is accepting.
Interestingly if do the GR for the same order as first by 8EA and then the rest 13EA that is also accepting.
Eventhough, for any other material (of same type and group) if we make a production order of the same 21EA and then doing GR firstly by 9Ea and then 12EA that is also getting posted properly.
What would be the reason for the error message for that particular case?
Here the system is SAP4.5B version, material MRP type is M0, lot size  FX & fixed lot size 10Ea, safety stock 8EA, Reorder point 15.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.
    Regards,
    Arghya

  • Production Order For Project with plant stock

    Hi,
We have a scenario where in we are required to create a production order for a project.
But the material(raw material) is in a storage location and is a stock item. Even the header material is also a stock item and it to stored in the storage location.
But the order is to be created for Project and to be settled to the Project. Now the system is not allowing me to create the order.
    The error is :
"Project  does not allow make-to-order stock
    Message no. CO746
    Diagnosis
There is no project stock for the project.
To create a production order with reference to a WBS element the project must allow project stock to be maintained.
    Procedure
You should select a project that allows project stock."
    Now,
I don't want to have a project stock. How to go forward...
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi,
What is the strategy you are using. If you are using strategy 20, then chnage it to 40.
Also maintain individual/collective indicator to "1" - individual in MRP-4 view. So that when the order is created, the stock will be reserved as Q-project stock.
    thanks and regards

  • Error while creating Production Order

    HI Experts,
While creating a production order for a material with planning stratagy 82, I am getting an error saying "Error occured in number assignment for object" AUF_PLAN.
Can you pls tell me what was the exact problem!!
    Regards
    Prasanna

    Prasanna,
Just a basic doubt, when you are saying that the material is assigned with Planning strategy "82", what is the need to create a Production Order manually? I am not sure whether this has an effect at all...but lets try.
Remove the strategy from Material Master MRP 3 view and then try creating the Production Order with Order type PP04, as you were trying earlier. This is just to see whether is this something related to Order type definations or Assembly Processing.
You also try creating a sales order, when the planning strategy "82" is still exists is the material master to see whether production order is getting created automatically by system.
Please let us know the feedback on the above

  • Error while creating production order (capacity leveling)

    Hello Friends,
For capacity Planning - Leveling, i am using overall profile  "SAPMPSG006 - MPS/MRP: Capacity availability check", in Production scheduling profile, which i have attached in the material master.
In Availability check parameter, checking control for the combination of Plant, order type and business transaction 1, in capacity availability section also, i have maintained the overall profile "SAPMPSG006 - MPS/MRP: Capacity availability check'.
Now i have created the production order for a particular period (start date 17.03.10 , finish date 20.03.10). In CM01, agaist the work center, i can see the load. Hence available capacity and required capacity is same for three days.
Now again i have created one more production order for the same period (start date 17.03.10 , finish date 20.03.10), system is showing the window with the message work center with overload. On the same screen, when  i click on finite scheduling tab, than system showing the new latest start date and time the same as earlier date i.e 17.03.10.
Here my question is , when i click on finite scheduling tab, than system should propose the date 21.03.10, as on and after this date capacity on this workcenter is available. But system is not proposing the dates, where capacity is available.
When i checked the dispatching log, there i found two errors.
    continued..................

    Dear,
That's great production order system is proposing the future date automatically.
    Few check,
    1) Factory calendar for holidays?
2)Any other production order on that days?
3)Your capacity profile and its setting?
    Basic dates
Check whether scheduling should be performed with a time being specified. For this, check the scheduling data of the scheduling type in Customizing. OPU3
    Do the basic dates change?
Check whether the alternative "Adjust basic dates" has been selected for the scheduling parameters.
Check whether the basic dates are set correctly on account of the operation dates. So check operation dates also?

  • Error while making Production Order

    Hello,
While I am trying to make production order for one material it is giving an error " Date lies outside the valid factory calendar" even for 1 kg. For other materials the error is not coming, both have the same work centre's.
Please guide me what can be the possible reasons?

    Hi,
I hope u are creating the production order at CO01.
Before that check scheduling results at ca03 for order Material.

  • Goods Issue Production Order for Confirmed Qty Component

    Dear PP Gurus,
    Here is my case :
Stock Qty for Sparepart A : 100 un
First production will require 80 un A, and availability check confirmed. Second Production Order will require 70 un A, where 20 un confirmed and 50 un is not confirmed on availability check. When i try to goods issue the second production order, it is allowed to consumed all 70 un because unrestricted stock is 100. How can i forbid goods issue in second production order only for 20 un A which is confirmed before.
    Thanks,
    Arman Lie

    Dear
First of all what ever qty u release during production it well get copied in confirmation so as u said first production order is 80 so the balance qty is 20 out of 100 units so for 20 production order is confirmed so u need another production order for 70 in that case u have deflicit stock of 50 so for that reason ur production order not get confirmed for 50 in order to confirm this order u need t make a stock of 50.
    1. check in the OPK4 enable the actual qty
2.check t-code OPJK Checking Rule and check when material availability when saving the order
and please check in the material master what availability check u have maintained in mrp

  • Valueation type error when settleing production order

    Hi ,
We are geting error  following error when settleing the production order  " For material xxxxx valuation type 01 does not exist for plant xxxx "  wat could be the problem . Is it due to any split valueation activation problem .

    Hi
Check in MM60, the valuation type maintained for material/ plant combination, if it doesnet exists then create the material type with 01 valuation type in plant.
Also check in OMWC, valuation category and valuation types are correctly assigned to plant.
    Thanks

  • Costing the production order for the configured material

We are trying to cost the production order for a configurable item.  But the system is not calculating any cost in the production order.  Sales order related to this configurable material is costed.  What additional setting I need to cost the production order for the configured material ?

    Hi Niki
If your SO is costed, thats enough from a System's perspective... Planned cost will be the sales order cost estimate because SO saves the Chars required for the Configurable material
Planned cost in Prod order depends on the Costing variant you have assigned in the order type... Check the error log if there is any error in cost calculation in prod order

  • Cannot release production order for a plant

    Hi:
When I try to release a process order , I get this error message:
"CAnnot release production order for plant".
I get this message  for a particular material in the plant. For other materials, it's working fine.
    Please give your suggestions!
    Gautham

    Hi,
Check the Tasklist usage for your routing for that material.
For this usage ,check in op45 against the task list type whether until release indicator has been enabled. If so remove
    and do the release.
    or
check whether workcenter which is used for producing the   material has been locked in work center itself.
Indicator: Usage only until release in orderIndicator used to specify for a task list usage and a task list type that an operation in the order cannot be released.  This occurs when a work center group that is not intended for production is allocated to this operation.
When this type of operation in the order is released you must enter the work center where production should take place.

    nandha
