Error snapshot

When I tried to backup online /usr by ufsdump and create snapshot, I got next error- snapshot error: File system could not be write locked. Why ? It was declared in documentation, that snapshot must be executed with anyone filesystem. Help me, please

Failed to send batch after max errors - Snapshot

I have been replicating happily between 2008 R2 SQL Servers for some time using Transactional replication.
Replication stopped yesterday with the following messages on the source server:
MSSQL_ENG 10054
Communication link failure
MSSQL_ENG 10054
TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
MSSQL_ENG Failed to send batch after max errors
MSSQL_ENG Unspecified error
MSSQL_ENG An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
MSSQL_REPL 0
The process could not bulk copy into table '"pro"."ZZM012X"'.
In the Event Viewer on the target server this message appears:
"A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 10054, output error: 0)."
So this happened after it had been replicating for some time. I get the same error now when I try to restart it or if I rebuild the publication/subscription completely.
There are 7 tables in the publication - 6 of them bulk copy and then replicate without issue. The error is specific to one table. The table has a column in that is varchar(132) and it contains recipe instructions to our manufacturing plant. If
I replicate the table and exclude this field, it doesn't fail. I initially thought it might be spurious characters in the text column but I have removed these and still get the same error. I have set up a test version of the table and publication/subscription
to enable me to test outside of the live environment. Same errors occur.
Does anyone have any clues or pointers to what might be causing it?

I have tried numerous tests to try to pinpoint the issue but I am still unable to resolve it. The source server is in Connecticut and the target is in the UK. I have successfully bulk copied and replicated the problem table from the source server
to a new database on the same server. I get the same error if I bulk copy and replicate to another server here in the UK. I have backed up and restored the table in a new database on one of the UK servers and can bulk copy and replicate here to
a second UK server. I have traced the issue to one column, varchar (132) on the problem table. If I exclude the column the table will bulk copy and replicate US to UK. I have created new tables and inserted a subset of the data - no change.
We have looked at network issues also: We have switched off the TCP Global Parameters like Chimney offload and NETDMA - on the adapter and in the OS - as these are reported as a potential problems. We have looked at settings in SonicWall and
tried disabling Intrusion Prevention Service, Anti Virus, Application Control and Anti Spyware. Our next option is to look at MTU packet size to see if that is a possible cause.
We are stumped on this one and have had to exclude the table completely from our manufacturing software which is not ideal but at least keeps us working.
Any further ideas, suggestions or solutions would be gratefully received.

One of the batch job is failing due to oracle error “snapshot too old.”

Incorrect. A snapshot too old means that a consistent read cannot be maintained. A read is not a transaction - it does not cause any locks on rows.
What is can mean that rollback is too small to maintain a consistent read for a sufficiently long enough period for the consistent read to be completed.

This is usually the case - more accurately, fetching across commits. This is caused by creating a consistent read on a table (opening a cursor in PL/SQL), reading the rows (fetching from cursor in PL/SQL) and then updating those exact same rows.
The consistent read deals with version n of the table. At the same time the exact same process updates those very same rows creating new versions of those rows.
Rollbacks are overwritten (it is a circular buffer) and the version n of the rows cannot be maintained and "goes out of scope" as the rollbacks containing that version of the rows are re-used.

AMS Setup Manager Diagnostics Test erroring with "invalid snapshot" error

8229 isn´t present on any of the both Mailboxservers.
The affected Database is active on Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server and in an overall healthy state. I found during my research, that below Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server, there are not removed shadow copies present!
This confuses me, since all Backups are normally taken from the passive copy of a Database.
So my questions to the board are:
* Does anyone is facing similar issues?
* Can someone explain why snapshots are present on the Mailboxserver hosting the Active Database, whilst the errors are logged on the passive one?
-          * Does someone know the conditions, why shadows copies remain and
aren´t removed in a proper manner?
What can cause the circumstance, that only 1 DB is facing such issues?
Any suggestion is welcome!

Hi Lenora,
I´ve encreases VSS / Exchange Backup Log levels to expert, before starting
those things i´ve all tried now:
- Backup from passive DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from passive DB without GRT enabled (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB without GRT enabled(forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
All those attempts failed.
But brought some more details - the backup against the active DB states, that there is still a backup in progress and therefore this backup is cancelled by VSS.
The Solution was, that i´ve needed to restart the Exchange Replication Service on the Mailbox Server hosting the passive DB.
Backups are working again on all DBs!

SAP Fiori Track Purchase Order Error

This problem happen when I am searching a Purchase order(PO) number in the left panel and it's not able to find that PO number. It is giving error as mentioned below.

we have created some PR(purchase requisition) and from that we create some PO. So ideally that should appear in Track purchase order Apps. But it was not showing directly in the screen. If i use the filter option in the left panel to 7 days then also its is not coming.
But when I search particular PO number which i created today in the left panel search box its give that PO details and works fine then.
Issue:3
we have created a Purchase order through purchase requisition and get delivered in ECC. The status of delivered is not changing.
Can you please help me on this.All the issues are mentioned for Track Purchase order Fiori App.

Snapshot to old

I'm new to PL/SQL and I can't figure out how to get my queries to run faster. Each time I run them I receive the error "snapshot to old". I'm using 9ir2. My query consists of:

The columns contain millions of records. I have tried running multiple queries for a seperate day with UNION but I still receive the same error message. Currently I have to break the OR statements groups of 25 and run each group one at a time. I have very limited permissions on the database with no hope of getting them increased. I cannot create tables, views, or packages. Is there a way to run this query for an entire week without using UNION? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

First suggestion for you is BIND VARIABLE. That's the key to speed up your queries. Take a look on this matter. Easyly you can find out by "googling" it http://www.google.com.br/search?hl=en&q=oracle+bind+variable&btnG=Google+Search
As for snapshot to old, ask to your DBA to take care of this, it's his responsibility, suggest him to increase the UNDO_RETENTION if he is using UNDO_MANAGEMENT=auto.

How do i fix VFP Security.vi error

In Project Explorer window, i made a library and then created a shared variable.
when i clicked on ok button after configuring the variable in shared variable properties window, i got this error whose snapshot has been attached.

"Snapshot too old" for a report program

We get "ORA-1555 error: snapshot too old" for a report job, NOT an update job.
We can add rollback segments to the DB.
Why we cannot increase the commit frequency to fix this issue?

of course Stefan and Eric have already given the right hints here.
But the main point here is not the configuration of the UNDO management.
I know that this kind of problems bears a big mental hurdle in it, which is also difficult to jump over for many supporters.
The notion of Undo/Rollback data beeing used mainly for ROLLBACK actions is unfortunately totally wrong.
The primary and main usage of this data is to deliver the consistent view (as already explained in this thread).
So the single big question here is: why does a single statement of your report needs to visit so many pages from a certain point in time?
In the wast majority of cases this is because the statement is badly tuned.
Maybe there is no appropriate index available.
Or it's just written badly, so that unnecessary data must be read by Oracle.
Maybe the CBO does something wrong which must be checked.
Maybe the data is scattered over too many blocks and clustering them together somehow could help
The core point here is: figure out what causes the statement to touch so many pages and fix that.
Then you are most likely to come over this problem.
All other recommendations, especially the move to automatic undo management: full ack.
But the solution to your problem is to fix your statement.

Director Player Error : Handler not found in object

Hi,
I have made an exe to run a video in Director. This was done using old version of director, 8.5 supposedly.
When i try to run video through this exe, the video plays in background but i get the following error(snapshot attached):
"Handler not found in object

Script Error. Continue?"
I have installed shockwave player 8.5 and also put all the files from xtra folder to the folder where exe in lying but still i am getting the same error.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Looks like something in one of the scripts in your project that is being called but is not working correctly for some reason.
Without seeing the code it's hard to tell what the problem may be. I'm wondering if there's one of the old-style line continuation characters that may be breaking the #openport handler somewhere in your scripts.

The only thing I can think of right now is to simply check every single eventlog on both client and server whether it's running full. And since that's a bit bothersome, here's a script that will do so (run on both machines locally, if they are multiple machines):
