Error using COLLECT

When I try to use collect() in a query to try and get a quick and dirty pivot, I get an ORA-00932. Anybody have any suggestions on what could be up? Using 10.2.0.4
select tablespace_name, collect(table_name) as table_name_coll
from all_tables
group by tablespace_name;
Error starting at line 2 in command:
select tablespace_name, collect(table_name) as table_name_coll
from all_tables
group by tablespace_name
Error report:

Dylan,
The query works for me. What tool do you use to execute your query? And what is the result when you execute your query in SQL*Plus?

Rob.

    you are using old version of SQL*Plus. if you use later version it will give you correct result.

  • Error messages are not posted into ECH using collect method

    In asynchronous interface, Error messages are not posted into tcode:ECH_MONI_SEL using collect method.
    In the collect method, passing software component version,business process and error messages.but its not posted into ech and ppo.

    Hi,
    Have you created the FEH class for the proxy. In that, from within the PROCESS method, when there is an error you will be placing those errors into a table and this needs to be passed to the COLLECT method.
    CALL METHOD i_ref_registration->collect
       EXPORTING
         i_single_bo      = input
         i_component      = 'ZSWC'   "Software component defined while FEH customisation
         i_process        = 'ECH_BP'  "ECH Business process defined while FEH customisation
         i_error_category = lc_errcat
         i_main_message   = wa_error
         i_messages       = lt_error
         i_main_object    = wa_object.
    Here while populating the wa_object, the  objtype field should be populated with the object type defined while FEH customization.
    If all these things are done, then this should post the error.

    Hi all!
    I've got this error when I try to run my BC4J Application:
    Error Message: JBO-28020: Passivation error on collection TXN, node id -1
    Error Message: JBO-28030: Could not insert row into table PCST_TXN, id -1

    DB 9i + patchset 9.0.2
    The SAME APPLICATION works right when deployed on this env:
    W2k
    OC4J part of JDEV9iRC2 (9.0.2.0.0)
    remote DB 9i + patchset 9.0.2 on SUN SOLARIS
    The Application Module is deployed as a Session Bean (BMT),
    and I have a jdbc Datasource called jdbc/DeployDBDS.
    I have also modified jbo.ejb.txntype from "global" to "local"
    because with "global" it doesn't work...
    Anyone can help me?
    regards

    First you'll want to read this BC4J "HowTo" article on how our persistent collection functionality works so you can decide whether you not you really want to be using it.
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/bc4j/bc4j_temp_tables.html
    Likely you don't want to be, so this article explains how to avoid having its being used. It's typically a "last resort" feature that saves appserver memory by writing extra query results rows out to persistent storage if you query thousands of rows into memory and start scrolling around.
    Down in your stack trace there is the error:
    ORA-600: [19942]
    This is a database internal error related to handling CLOB's and BLOB's. I see a few bugs that were reported in versions 8.0.5 but fixed in 8.1.6.

    Error in collect statement(non-key fields must be numeric)...
    Hello Experts,
    I created an internal table based from a ztable. The structure of the ztable is
    as follows:
    1. MANDT -> PRIMARY KEY
    2. BUKRS -> PRIMARY KEY
    3. TXK50 -> PRIMARY KEY
    4. ANLKL -> PRIMARY KEY
    5. KTANSW -> PRIMARY KEY
    6. KOSTL  -> PRIMARY KEY
    Then the remainder of the fields(around 8 fields) are currency data types(ANBTR).
    An error is showing saying 'You can only use the collect command in a table if all of its non-key
    fields are numeric(type I,P or F).
    I searched the forum and it said that non-keys must be numeric in order for the

  • Procedure giving error with collections

    H, i wrote a procedure in which i am using collections to out a some data.Its giving error. Below is format of procedure:
    Create or replace procabc(a in type_a, b in number, c out type_b)
    begin
    for i in 1....a.count loop
    for j in (select num from abc) loop
    if (num = 'condition1') then
    c(i) := num;
    elsif (num = 'condition2') then
    c(i) := num;
    elsif (num = 'condition3') then
    c(i) := num;
    else
    dbms_output.put_line('not matching');
    end if;
    end loop;
    end loop;
    end;
    In above code input a and output c are type which i had created.
    how to out my values in out parameter c...its executing ..i am getting print but its not storing in out parameter c which is type. what i need to do..even i had initialised the collection also tried c.event before storing..still wont work..can anyone help me???

    Megha Verma wrote:

    1 loop is there because i am passing a array as input and i need all values from query whose output depends on that.You're passing an array, but you aren't using it anywhere!!!
    for i in 1....a.count loopa is not referenced in any subsequent code.
    second loop is to execute the query and get the data and store it in a collection. and return it to ut parameter...what i need to add values to my collection....Yes, and it's extremely inefficient (if it's even correct, seeing my previous comment about not using the collection you pass in anywhere).
    >
    c is out parameter and is a type(i had created).
    simply i want to know how to add values to it while i get my data when loop executes....it prints my valus...just tell how to add it to collections and return it as out parameter.Sadly it's not that simple. Simple to correct technically yes, but your entire process seems to be flawed so i really think you should revisit that. Or post sufficient information to have us help you in an actually helpful manner.

    No, that doesn't make any sense. Arrays.toString can take any array as an arg: [http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/Arrays.html#toString(java.lang.Object[])]
    import java.util.*;
    public class A {

        System.out.println(str);

    create table pop_tab (     col1 number ,col2 number ,col3 number ,col4 number )
    create or replace package test_collect
    is
      procedure proc_lvl_ld ;
      procedure proc_pop_tab (v_var1 number ,v_var2 number ,v_var3 number ,v_var4 number) ;
    end test_collect;
    create or replace package body test_collect
    is
       procedure proc_lvl_ld
        is
          v_cnt number := 1 ;
          v_var1 NUMBER ;
          v_var2 NUMBER ;
          v_var3 NUMBER ;
          v_var4 NUMBER;
         begin
          for i in 1 .. 100000 loop
            v_var1 := v_cnt + 1;
            v_var2 := v_cnt + 2;
            v_var3 := v_cnt + 3;
            v_var4 := v_cnt + 4;
            v_cnt  := v_cnt + 1;
          proc_pop_tab (v_var1 ,v_var2,v_var3,v_var4);
         end loop;
          commit;
          exception when others then
           DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ( 'proc_lvl_load'||sqlcode||','||sqlerrm );
        end proc_lvl_ld;
         procedure proc_pop_tab (v_var1 number ,v_var2 number ,v_var3 number ,v_var4 number)
          is
           begin
             insert into pop_tab (col1,col2,col3,col4)

  • Loading and with error message :COLLECTION in SOURCE SYSTEM ENDED

    Hi,
    Facing problem with master data object while loading and with error message :COLLECTION in SOURCE SYSTEM ENDED
    This load is getting failed every day. It is a full load and records are getting transferered and added.
    when we check in details tab in RSMO all data packets in processing is green but in extraction some of the data selection scheduled are in yellow.We are changing QM status to green as records are added.
    Version i am using is BW 3.5
    Please let me know what will be the problem???
    Thanks,
    Edited by: lokesh thonsyd on Feb 18, 2009 8:55 AM

    First try to find out the reason for the load failure. Once you fix this, do a manual run of the infopackage and when successful you can continue with the rest of process chain.
    Sometimes, it doesn't help to just set a request to green status in order to run the process chain from that step on to the end.
    You need to set the failed request/step to green in the database as well as you need to raise the event that will force the process chain to run to the end from the next request/step on.
    Therefore you need to open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
    In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
    In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
    1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
    2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
    3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
    Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
    Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
    Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
    1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
    2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
    3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
    4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
    5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
    Now press F8 to run the fm.
    Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.

    i though it was the problem of patch level sap note(966131).

    Hi,
    take a look:
    Data Warehousing
    "Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for MPRO L "
    Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for ROUT L
    Try to set the Process Chain Start to Immediate(background jobs) in the schedule, because this will trigger the process chain once tranported and may cause similar errors.
