Error when acessing command menu dropdown

When I click the "command" menu item dreamweaver responds
with "a javascript error occured" and that it can't open the script
"configuration/shared/MM/scripts/CMN/file.js" and reports an (error
3).
Any ideas? or can someone email me a working proper copy of
the file please

You can try this simple fix -
Quit DW.
Find this file -
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use
Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)
and delete it.
Restart DW. Works better?

    Hi there,

    Hi there,
    The problem appears to have returned. I am getting the same error message as before and also an error saying there is a syntax error in my source code. Dreamweaver tells me which line the error is in:
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("hope_menu", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});

  • File Not Found Error When Rendering Motion Menu

    Hi there.
    I'm attempting to render a motion menu and keep getting the error "file not found". All of the necessary files are available and no specific missing file is mentioned.
    The background video is a .m2v, and there is a .wav audio file too. They are 42 seconds long.
    I tried other Encore projects and 2 others are doing the same thing, or coming up with a 'General Error'.
    I have cleaned the Database in the Media Cache. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Encore. There are no updates available.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    David

    Yeah, it would have taken me quite a while to redo the menus completely!  So I was very thankful for the save to menu template option.
    When I (not recently, thank goodness!) have a project I suspect of corruption, I create a new project, and just "import as menu" from the old menu subdirectory. The method you used deletes the  menus, so exporting the menus helps.
    Mac OS 10.6.8
    That's Snow Leopard, right?
    Actually, I'm not really sure about Encore terminology (this was my first project), but the only motion I have in my menus is the line that appears under the button text when that button is highlighted.  At one point I had the photo buttons (for videos) set to animate, but I removed that option.
    A highlight is just a highlight, not "motion." Animated buttons, when rendered as the menu, are actually a video background, so that was a motion menu.
    All 30 slideshows are actually individual video timelines.  They were created and exported from Photosho Lightroom 3.
    In Encore terminology, those are just videos - many Encore users choose to do slideshows as videos.
    I had originally tried creating each one as a slideshow from within Encore, but I was DEEPLY dismayed by how slow Encore became, evetually locking up at least once per hour.  It was ridiculous, even taking into account the fact that it is not a 64-bit program.  I planned to leave 2 of the songs as Encore slideshows (Lightroom can't do Pan/Zoom), but in the end I had to replace them with mp4s because the slideshows just would not play.  Really, it was about 11 wasted days plus 4 productive days to get me through the project!
    Encore has a variety of problems with slideshows, but I suspect from your description that you were using very large images. Scaling them down a bit can improve performance.

  • How do I prevent errors when accessing DDL menu items in NI Configurator?

    I am developing a DD description for a Foundation Fieldbus device. I have put menus in the DD to help present the data in my transducer blocks in an organized manner. When I access a menu item with NI Configurator 3.0, I get an error message "Network read of parameter name failed: error code -27" (See attachment). This happens for all the variables on my menus. The same variables are read correctly within the block views.
    Are there any specific requirements of menus, or unsupported DDL constructs that can not be used within DDL menu items when using NI Configurator? I have tried the Menus on other fieldbus host systems and they appear to work OK there.
    Attachments:
    ni.JPG ‏75 KB

    Are you calling "Edit Display" in your DD menu? As I know, the Configurator 3.1 version can handle "Edit Display" properly. I suggest you send your DD and CFF files to "[email protected]" for further technical support from NI.
    On the other hand, you might be able to download the Configurator 3.1 Evaluation version from "http://www.ni.com/support/fbussupp", which supports creating virtual devices/blocks with CFF and DD files. You can try on that and see whether it helps in 3.1 version.

  • Error when running attached menu to form

    time, but not I just get the error :
    "form-10221: Cannot read file <menu filename>"

    Hi,
    You have to put your menu where oracle can find it.
    Check where it goes in the regedit/ formXX_path
    add a new path or place your menu in the default oracle path.
    by default it is supposed to find it if it is in the same folder
    but not every time...
    another solution create a shortcut and put all you need to run
    the form in a single folder and mark this folder in the start in
    box of your shortcut.
    I hope this help you.
    Sorry for my english!

  • No value for given parameters error when using command parameters in RDC.

    I am trying to create a report using RDC with a parameter in the query, but I keep getting "No value for given parameters" error.  Here is the code I use:

    Hello, Paul;
    If you add your database connection to the command object and put fields on your report without the parameter, do you get the report you expect?
    These are version 8/8.5 samples but the code is the same:

    Once you have added the database connection follow that with the parameter code.

    If you add the parameter and put the field on the report, can you pass the value successfully?

    Hi,
    This seems to be application issue for me.
    You can look at the getScript() code as it is not able to get the coresponding script from ScriptFactory.
    As Appserver 6.5 is already EOSL'd, you can move to new application server like 8.1UR2.
    Plz refer docs.sun.com for the same.
    Thanks,
    -Balaji.

  • General Error or Crash using menu button on chapter playlists

    This is my first complex project in 2.0 - I needed to have approx 120 clips playable individually from a series of still menus. Given the 99 timeline limit, I created a number of timelines and placed batches of clips on them. I'm then using individual chapter playlists to reference each clip. The chapter playlist is linked from a menu button.
    When using the menu remote button when a chapter playlist is playing, I either get an 'abnormal condition' error, or occasionally, Encore crashes with no message at all. Tried this with no menus, timelines and playlists open but same errors.
    More detail:
    PAL 16:9 project
    28 timelines
    65 chapter playlists
    15 still menus
    approx 120 mpv clips and associated wavs (mpv encoded with cinemacraft encoder sp)
    Settings for one of the clips giving problems:
    Timeline - end action not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted, no chapter end actions
    Chapter playlist - end action - return to last menu, override not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted.
    I think I can stop the errors and crashes if I disable the menu remote button - but I don't really want to do this.
    Any ideas what's going on? Is it a bug(S)?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Paul.
    The trouble I had was the "Abnormal Condition" error when hitting the menu remote button in preview.
    There was no problem with Prev/Next buttons though.
    I tried burning a disc too, just to check if it would burn true & just played up in preview - but no dice. What happened was the player froze up solid after pressing the menu remote.
    I did create another project where the chapter playlists numbered around 28 from a single timeline, and this actually worked as it should do, so I suspect an issue in Encore's internal stacks where this is all addressed.
    I had to use a different application in the end.
    I believe the reason yours is still failing is simply because despite having 5 timelines, you are still well over the number of chapter playlists that seem to be available.
    It's a nasty bug - but apparently a fix is in the works. Hopefully we will see this as a maintenance release - we got these with both earlier versions (1.01 from 1.0, and 1.5.1 from 1.5) so I am hoping it will happen.
    There are a couple of issues I have noticed - although this is so far the only one I cannot work around in my projects.
    One thing has just occurred to me that might help you here.
    Instead iof using a chapter playlist to reference each clip, save these for multiple clips that need to be accessed, and from your chapter menu, just point directly to the clip in question.
    Set an end action for each clip to revert back to the menu that called it, and create just a single chapter playlist for a "Play All" situation.
    This will greatly reduce the number of chapter playlists you are running - and should do the job for you.

  • Error when using API.DataWindow.Utilities.mShellAndWait: File not found

    I am trying to run a simple command using API.DataWindow.Utilities.mShellAndWait, however I am experiencing the following error in FDM web. Strangely, I do not see the same error when the command is run from FDM Workbench:
    Error: File not found
    At Line: ###
    The command is as follows:
    Dim strCMD
    strCMD = "ECHO %DATE% %TIME% >> \\<servername>\<folder1>\<folder2>\File.Log"
    API.DataWindow.Utilities.mShellAndWait strCMD, 0
    This command works fine when run directly from the command line. I am using a UNC path so thought this would have worked. Can anyone please suggest how I can resolve this? I have also tried the following and this results in a similar error:
    Dim strCMD
    strCMD = "ECHO %DATE% %TIME% >> \\<servername>\<folder1>\<folder2>\File.Log"
    Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    Set WshShellExec = WshShell.Exec(strCMD)
    Error: The system cannot find the file specified.

    I would expect the issue is due to user access priviledges.
    When you run it through Workbench, the shell and wait is using your (logged on user's) credentials.
    When it operates through the web stie, it is using the service account credentials.
    If the service account does not have permissions, that could explain the 'file not found', though I would expect an access is denied error.

    WhiIe executing FWExtns_ConvertBulletsTolmages
    canAcceptCommand in
    ConvBuII2Img.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
    At line 51 of file “E:‘Program
    Files\Macromedia8\Dreamweaver
    8\Conflguration\Commands\ConvBull2Img,js”:
    TypeError: dom has no properties
    ======
    If I click OK, two or three seconds later I get another box:
    ======
    While executing FWExms_ConvertTextTolmages canAcceptcommand
    in
    ConvText2lmg.htm, the following ]avaScript erro(s) occurred:
    At line 238 of file “E :\Program
    Files\Macromedia8\Dreamweaver
    8\Conflguration\Commands\Convtext2lmg.js”:
    TypeError: dw.getDocumentDOM() has no properties
    ======
    And so on.
    The weirdest thing is it seems I can’t find the files
    mentioned in my
    folders. (Note: DW is on E; as you guessed)
    I have no clue. Can someone help? Something corrupted? What
    should I do?
    Thank you.

    Glad you got it sorted - back to work now ;-)

    : Thanks a lot. It's fixed. The cause was InstaGraphics
    Extensions for
    : Dreamweaver. It seems it doesn't like the installation of
    some other
