Error when exporting to Excel for SharePoint 2010 List

We have few users who are getting the following error message when they try to export to Excel from the SharePoint list:
"An operation that uses the database driver could not be completed. If the driver is a Microsoft driver, make sure the driver file isn’t damaged, and if it is, reinstall the driver by reinstalling Microsoft Query. For other drivers, contact
your database administrator or driver vendor.‘
The export option works for me on my machine and also tested it out on other users' machines without issues. The list is currently holds 29763 items.
1. Created a view that filter the list to show few items, and the user was able to export without issues.
2. Followed the steps in the following Blog:

3. My colleagues and I don't have any issues exporting to Excel. (Note: even my test account, that does not have any special permissions or members of any SharePoint group(s)).
4. Some Blog/Forums suggest to increase Threshold limit in Central Admin, which we don't want to do, since the issue only affect certain users.
Any idea on how to troubleshoot/resolve the issue?

Do they have to export all the information or is a subset of it ok?
Creating an index on the columns that your users interact with the most and then creating views that limit the returned results will be useful. This will then allow an export.

Runtime error when exporting to Excel

I'm new to this so pardon my mistakes.
When i try to export a report (viewed in cystal reports in SAP) to excel, a runtime error occurs and forces SAP business one to close.
In some reports, the export to excel icon on the menu bar is active, but in some it is grayed out.
Please Help with this issue

Sorry i do not have the screenshot but this is what the error says:
" Runtime error !
Program : C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One\SAP Business One.exe
This application has requested to Runtime to terminate in an unusual way
Please, contact the application's suport team fore more information. "
The excel version is 2007.
Export using other formats (pdf,word, xls data only) work fine. Its only xls with full formatting that generates the error.
The report being exported is viewed in crystal reports within SAP.

Receiving an error when trying to post to Sharepoint 2010

I have created a simpe process that involves filling a form, transforming the data into a PDF document and then archiving it to SharePoint 2010. When I run the process I am receiving the following error.

Error when editing some Items in SharePoint Custom List

Hello I have a custom list with multiple workflows and a customized infopath form. I am getting an unexpected error on some of the list items when I try to edit them. I can view them just fine but the error is occuring on edit for some items.
I am also able to edit the same item that I am getting the problem with from the datasheet view but just not with infopath form.
I use the USL to view the correlation error and it just said leaving monitored scoped.
I also tried saving the list as a template and creating a new list from the template and then creating a new item in that list and got the same error. Please help.

Capturing Timestamp when Status Changes in a SharePoint 2010 List

I've created a Risk/Issue/Decsion Log (list) in SharePoint 2010.
I need to capture the date/timestamp when an item changes from 'Open' to 'Resolved' Status and also when the status changes from 'Resolved' to 'Closed'.
I'm using the default 'Created' field to capture when the item is created and the 'Open' status is selected. I've already created 2 more fields in the list to capture when the status changes from 'Open' to 'Resolved' Status and also when the status changes
from 'Resolved' to 'Closed'. I just need help with how to automatically capture the date/timestamp in those fields.
I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hello,
As i understand you want to capture date based on status column value. You can create two text calculated column, one for resolved and second for closed.
Now use below formula in open calculated column:
=IF(Status="Resolved",TEXT(NOW(),"dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm"),IF(ISBLANK(Status),"","NULL"))
Then use below formula in closed column:
=IF(Status="Closed",TEXT(NOW(),"dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm"),IF(ISBLANK(Status),"","NULL"))

Error when exporting to excel (.xls)

Everytime I try and export my spreadsheet to excel, it says "an error has occurred" and nothing happens. I'm not using special text or something, it's in Times New Roman. How can I fix this error?

Could you provide more information, size of file, multiple tables, graphs, and the like. Are you doing File > Export, Excel?
The more information you provide the better we may be able to assist you. Also, did you use the Search feature in the upper right? Thousands of questions asked and answered.

The following capabilities are currently planned to be added by the production release:
Tools > Export - Will be a DDL generator.
I will mention in the release notes when this function is operational. The menu item is just there now as a placeholder.

Out of Memory Error when exporting release build for IOS

I recently changed my project to use the new AIR 3.3 SDK.
When I try to package my game for iOS, I get an error part way through the build, that says
Exeption in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.
I took a screenshot:
It's frustrating because now it doesn't build at all.
I have tried changing the -vmargs for the sdk to have 16Gb of RAM available, (and many other multiples of 1024m) in the hope that this would fix it.
I've also installed the JDK as it is supposed ot handle memory better than the JRE, but have no idea how to point FB to use that.
I've changed the Xmx value to 1024m in Flashbuilder.ini and eclipse.ini (it seems it doesn't start if it's higher than that) and still no luck.
Can anyone help with this?

Well I don't have to render as I go, it is just a choice. I checked to see if all the video and stills were rendered. I re-rendered after making sure all of the options were checked, removed all of the stills from the timeline just in case the still format was the problem, then attempted to export again. It took about 2 hours. I watched with activity monitor and it took almost all of the available disc space then my computer shut itself down. When I rebooted there was a Quicktime file 320 GB in size but would not open. I got an error message that it was not a mov. file.
But to answer your question:

LSCompatibility plug-in error when exporting to EXCEL partial workaround

hey guys. i had a big project at work today that i needed to turn in and when i went to export my file to excel it just kept dying out on me. anyway, i looked at my spreadsheet and decided to remove all the drop down menus and just replace them with the answers. it worked right away! so, obviously we shouldn't need to do this. but for now, use it, it works.

I'm really surprised because here, I may export flawlessly documents with Pop-up Menu items to Excel.
Of course I get the alert explaining that this kind of item is not recognised by XL and that they will be replaced by the values of the cells.
May I know the number of Pop-up Menu cells in your document?
Maybe there is a limit to the number of "problematic" cells.

SSRS XML Errors when exporting to .xlsx from Dynamics NAV Database

We use Dynamics NAV for our ERP and have many SSRS reports. We get xml Errors when exporting to Excel .xlsx. I've seen this happen since SQL 2008 R2 and have posted in many places trying to find an answer, but was hoping MS would solve the
issue. The numeric data types in the Dynamics NAV database are all decimal(38,20) and when the value is zero the Excel renderer throws the errors.
We now have over 400 reports and we export them to Excel 2003 format. I'm starting to feel like this is my new Y2K issue when Excel 2003 is set to sunset. I'm fearing that I'll have to do conversions on all numeric data types for all reports.
Both of these are Microsoft products so I'm wondering is this even on their radar.
We're running SQL Server 2012 SP2, and just rolled out CRM 2015 on SQL Server 2014. I get the errors in SSRS 2008R2, 2012, and 2014. Has anyone seen this before?

According to your description, when you export the report to Excel, the error “Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content.” throws out when opening the Excel file.
Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when exporting to Excel. The issue could cause by numeric columns has a precision of 16 or higher. To fix the issue, we could change data type in the table to a support lower precision, or convert
the numbers in the stored procedure that populates the report. For more information, please refer to this article:
SSRS 2012 Bug – “Excel found unreadable content”. Besides, please refer to this
article to check if non-printing characters exist in the report.

Error when attaching workflows to Sharepoint 2010 lists

I am getting an error when trying to attach an approval workflow to any SharePoint 2010 list on my development server. From the below error in the log I remember that I got this
same error in Sharepoint 2007 MOSS. It occurs because I have underscores in the server name. I know that I can get around this by either changing the server name or using alternative access mappings to access the server without the underscores. Does anyone
know of a way to fix this so that the srever name can have underscores which I believe are viable characters in a server name.

This is not the reason we are experiencing the workflow problem though. It is related to Internet Explorer security which changed.

"Cookies on ASP pages are blocked if the server name contains characters that are not supported by Domain Name System (DNS). For example, you cannot use underscore characters (_) in the server name. This behavior is by design."
Resolutions include:
Removing underscore from server name
Use Alternate Access Mappings
Extend and map using a web application that uses a URL path that does not use the servername
Decrease the security level in IE on the Security tab (not recommended)
Uncomment a line in the web.config which is commented by default (not recommended)

Hope this makes the issue more clear. I have updated the SharePoint KB to point to the Internet Explorer KB so people will be aware that the IE change does affect SharePoint behavior. This is not a SharePoint issue however.

I cant seem to find what the error means.

When exporting to excel via Business one , this error occurs if user does not have the correct permissions on the folder he has chosen to save the data in.
Solution
Verify user permissions on the folder.
User must have the correct permissions ie read and write on the folder.
Give user the necessary permissions to be able to save to that folder.
These rights can be given by the local Administrator.

Float4() causes "error saving Pixel Bender Byte Code file" error when exporting for flash player

Simple test

The above code will produce a "error saving Pixel Bender Byte Code file" error when exporting for flash player in Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5.449694.
"dst = (sampleNearest(src, outCoord()));" works fine. And anything like "float4 a= float4(b);" will give same error.

Thank you for the error report. I'll put it into our bug database. We're bottling things up for the current version. Gven the workaround, it is unlikely we'll be addressing this bug soon. Please accept my apologies for the annoyance this will cause.
In your second example, float4 a = float4(b), does it return an error if b is only a float4 or regardless of what b is? If b is a scalar float, for example, is the conversion performed correctly? If so, this could be an error that only crops up when using constructor/conversion syntax when the thing being converted is already the correct type.

How to copy Excel sheet data to SharePoint 2010 List?

I need to export excel data to SharePoint 2010 list. I have created 22 columns in list which are of following Column types:
Single line of text,
Multiple line of text,
Choice
Number,
Date,
Person or Group.
Now i need to export the excel data to SharePoint list.
When iam trying to copy data from excel to List , it is showing as "The selected cells are read only".
can someone guide on this to export spread sheet data to SharePoint list without importing Spreadsheet.
