  • MBP Error when using Firefox 3.0

    When using Firefox 3.0b2 with no other apps open, I get the following error "There was an error writing data to the disk. This error is sometimes caused by a full disk. Please restart this application."
    My HD has 104.63 GB free. I regularly do all the daily, weekly, monthly tasks via Onyx. I also religiously run Disk Utility to repair permissions. Ideas?

    It's still in beta. Report the crash in detail to the Mozilla team. Always suspect beta-ware before your computer.

  • When quitting firefox screen turns blue on MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8

    Just updated Firefox to 8.0. When I am shutting down MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8, I close each application before shutting down computer. When I quit Firefox, the screen turned light blue. I had to force shut down the computer and restart to get any response. This problem had never occurred until I updated Firefox to 8.0.

    hai. same problem. the system is still running (in the background, but you can't see anything because of the blue screen). i checked this by using some keyboard-shortcuts:
    press SHIFT + CMD + Q and then ENTER for closing all apps and logging out. the log-in window appears...
    or: press the POWER-button (short, once) and then ENTER for shutting down your computer normaly.
    this is not a solution, but better than force shut down. so far... over and out.
    EDIT: after updating all plugins (the only outdated was: flip4mac wmv plugin) it worked again after restarting the computer!

  • DLL causes error when quiting LabVIEW 2009 on WIN7

    Hello,
    I have reduced the problem in my EXE application to the following attached code (see attachment). Somehow the DLL (To User32.dll) calls are creating a problem when quiting Labview 2009. The Application stays resident in the Windows taskbar and after a while an error appears about that there was a problem closing the application and that it can be reported to Microsoft if desired. Then a second error message appears before the application dissapears from the taskbar. If I remove the DLL:calls from the code then the problems dissapear.
    Should I unload the DLL calls on a special manner before quiting LabVIEW?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    DLL-WIN7 problem.jpg ‏35 KB

    Another potential problem not mentioned in that article is that you have included your user32.dll explicitedly in your built application. Doing that creates 200% for sure trouble as the kernel32.dll, user32.dll and others are always residently loaded into memory anyhow and mapped into the system memory section of any process. If you tell an application to load this DLL again by explicit name, you end up having two copies of it mapped in your process memory space and that will cause very weird problems.
    To avoid this problem make sure the library name inside the Call Library Node only specifies the DLL name without any path information. Then close the dialog and save it. If you reopen the dialog it will show the full path but still save the name only until you make a modification in the path control at which time you can end up having a full path again.

  • Error when launching Firefox

    Hi; I’m experiencing a problem when launching Firefox . Receive the following message;
    Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at en-gb.start3.mozilla.com
    I’ve removed and reloaded Firefox, but same problem.
    The only thing I can think of that’s changed on the PC is that I’ve renewed & McAfe AntiVirus Plus (which also had to be removed then reloaded).
    Any suggestions as to what’s the problem & how to fix?

    I've tried checking the firewall issue; removed and reinstalled Firefox several time; run multiple anti-virus programs looking for issues; and it still doesn't work. However, today Google Chrome began working as my internet connection; and it works beautifully using Firefox (Go figure!). However, when I again reinstalled the actual Firefox program, it still does not work; so I have once again removed it. I find this very interesting.

  • Javascript error when starting Firefox 5

    I've just upgraded Firefox from 4.0.1 to 5. Now when I start Firefox, the following error message appears:
    JavaScript Application
    TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined
    When I click the OK button, Firefox loads. It looks normal, and seems to behave normally. I have Java Version 6 Update 26 installed (Windows XP), which is the latest version.
    Seems to be a Firefox problem, as I didn't have it before with the same version of Java installed. Is there a Firefox setting that needs to be changed, or is it maybe a Firefox bug?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

  • Error when starting Firefox 3.6. "Javascript Application error. Invalid username/password combination. If you continue to get this error, try entering your email address as your username." Any suggestions on what to look for to resolve this?

    When starting Mozilla Firefox 3.6, I get an error window which opens up additionally overtop my browser windows stating:
    "Javascript Application"
    followed with :
    "Invalid username/password combination. If you continue to get this error, try entering your email address as your username."
    Obviously it is happening with one of my email addresses/usernames & password combinations of which I know the username for (which I choose not to post here) and I'm not sure where to begin looking for a resolution to this problem.

    I was able to resolve this by disabling (under Tools - Add-ons) Yahoo! Mail Notifier
    Hope this helps some of you also!

  • I get the same software error when starting firefox or thunderbirdand cant update either program

    THe error says "the update could not be installed. Please make sure no other copies of firefox are running on your computer and then restart firefox to try again." I can then hit ok and Firefox will start, but without applying the upgrade. The same thing is happening on T-Bird.
    Firefox is 3.6.12 attempting to load 3.6.13 and T-bird is 3.1.6 attempting to load 3.1.7.
    I am running w7 home x64 on a homebuilt pc with AMD quadcore
    and 5gb memory.

    If the full message is similar to ''"Platform version <x.x.x.x> is not compatible with minVersion <x.x.x.x>"'', then do the following.
    The updater wasn't able to update all the files and some were left as older versions. Do a clean reinstall. See: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up#XULRunner_error_after_an_update Browser will not start up - XUL Runner error after an update]

  • Assert error when quitting

    Been developing an AIR desktop app for a bit and am mostly complete. However I just started getting an Assert Failed dialog when I quit the app now - the error says it's in "module CamExt40V32.ax - 2 objects left active. At line 320 of dllentry.cpp"
    Never seen this before and haven't had much luck find any info on it. I am using the web cam - but have been all along... any thoughts?

    I did a google search on the filename, and this popped up.  I also checked the error string itself and it looks like it's occured with both Chrome and other applications.  Maybe Phillips has an update available?

  • Javascript error when open firefox

    When I try to open Firefox, I get a long pause and then this error message: [Exception... "Could not convert JavaScript argument arg 0 [nsISupports.QueryInterface]" nsresult: "0x80570009 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_CONVERT_JS)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://searchshield/content/overlay.js :: InitSDK :: line 473" data: no]
    Firefox then opens. This does not occur with Internet Explorer. This just started happening today. What is this, and how do I fix this? I am just a regular user, not a tech person. Thanks.

    This issue is caused by the an AVG extension probably AVG Security toolbar.
