Error when running SQL over DB2/400 database
Folks,
I'm trying to execute an SQL statement which works well on DB2/400 but doesn't like it in Java embedded SQL.
The statement looks like this...
select rrn(a) from BLMINTF1 a where RDTUSC = 050106 or RDTADC = 050106 or RDTBPC = 050106 or RDTCDC = 050106 or RDTE1C = 050106
and the error I get is as follows...
java.sql.SQLException: An undefined column name was detected.
java/lang/Throwable.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;)V+4 (Throwable.java:94)
java/lang/Exception.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;)V+1 (Exception.java:42)

gmi/pme/ReadIntRateXML.main(^Ljava/lang/String;)V+0 (ReadIntRateXML.java:45)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
(Oops, ignore the above, a missing /code tag ate most of my post)
So does this work:
select 42 from BLMINTF1 a where RDTUSC = 050106 or RDTADC = 050106 or RDTBPC = 050106 or RDTCDC = 050106 or RDTE1C = 050106
There is a chance that the driver for some odd reason doesn't understand a particular SQL function. That's less likely than a simple typo though. Usually JDBC drivers don't care about the SQL they execute, they just pass it to the server. Command line SQL tools may have extra commands, but rarely functions like that.
I'd still print out the SQL string just before execution. I've seen things like this often enough:
String s =
"select x from foo" +
"where x = 1";Note the lack of space between "foo" and "where", resulting in "foowhere".

Winsock error when running SQL Server Stored Proc
I have a SQL Server stored procedure that is trying to read emails from an IMAP server (I am using mail.dll from www.limilabs.com).
The SP works fine on my local computer/db, and the code also runs fine when run from a console application on my remote server. When I try to run it from SQL Server however I get this error message:
Msg 6522, Level 16, State 1, Procedure GetEmails, Line 0A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "GetEmails": Limilabs.Client.ServerException: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was foundSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException: at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName(String hostName, Boolean includeIPv6) at System.Net.Dns.GetHostAddresses(String hostNameOrAddress) at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(String host, Int32 port) at Limilabs.Client.ClientBase.Connect(String host, Int32 port, Boolean useSSL)Limilabs.Client.ServerException: at Limilabs.Client.ClientBase.Connect(String host, Int32 port, Boolean useSSL) at StoredProcedures.GetEmails()
I suspect it is something to do with permissions (??) but it is beyond my knowledge of SQL Server. Anyone have some pointers? I am using the IP for the IMAP server, I have switched off the firewall.
ThanksReading emails in a stored procedure? Hm...
Unless you are impersonating the actual user in your CLR procedure, the access will be under the service account for SQL Server. If this is Local Servic or similar and may not have the permission or configuration to access whatever System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName
is trying to access.
Try running SQL Server under a domain account to see what happens.

"ORA-00054 Resource Busy Error" when running SQL*Loader in Parallel
Hi all,
Please help me on an issue. We are using Datastage which uses sql*loader to load data into an Oracle Table. SQL*Loader invokes 8 parallel sessions for insert on the table. When doing so, we are facing the following error intermittently:

- When we do not run in parallel, then we are not facing the error but it is very slow (obviously).Just in case, I am also attaching the Datastage Logs:

SQL Server engine might be patched but profiler may not be. Check the file properties of PROFILER.EXE.
The error which you are seeing an exception due to VC++
Can you please run .net verification tool and make sure they are consistent?

Connection error when running sql*plus from within a Makefile
As part of our build process the commands to install/update our database schema are executed from a Makefile (along with all the other build/test commands). We've been running our build under several system configurations, but have hit a hitch with one specific one. So far this has worked with Windows XP (cygwin) against a Express Edition DB and Red Hat ES 5 against Oracle 11g.
I am now trying to get the build running on a Ubuntu 8.04 workstation with the Oracle Express Edition installed. From the command line I can execute a simple command line such:
echo "SELECT 5 as foo from dual"|sqlplus user/password
Now if I put the same command in a Makefile, I receive the following error message:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
Linux Error: 22: Invalid argument
Additional information: 1
Additional information: 32769
This error seems to pop up a lot when a client is not properly configured (atleast the googling I've done has said as much), but my client is clearly working as I can connect outside of the Makefile. Is there possible some info that gets lost when make executes the process? Any ideas of what I could do to fix this?see 115753.1 note on metalink , it clearly explains why you are encountering this .

Got RMAN error when running RMAN backup of archivelogs on physical standby database
Got below error when running RMAN backup of datafiles and archivelogs on physical standby database.
RMAN-06820: WARNING: failed to archive current log at primary database
ORACLE error from target database:
ORA-17629: Cannot connect to the remote database server
ORA-17627: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Could anyone help me? Thanks,Hello;
When you connect RMAN to the source database as TARGET you must specify a password even if RMAN uses operating system authentication.
So the errors ORA-17627 and ORA-00942 appear to be cause and effect.
What version of Oracle? ( 11.2.0.4 according to the tag )
Can you post your backup script?
Best Regards
mseberg
Update
According to :
Database Error Messages 11g Release 2 (11.2) E17766-03
RMAN-06820: WARNING: failed to archive current log at primary database
Cause: An attempt to switch the archived log at the primary database failed.
So I would check my Primary alert log for an issue.

Error when running a report in BPC NW
I am getting the following error when running a report for my application in BPC NW.
EVDRE encountered an error retrieving data from the Web Server (retrying in (X) seconds).
This error comes with this dialog option box to either continue or cancel retrying retrieving data. Retrying doesn't help either.
Any report I run (on any of my appsets), I get this error. I used the EVDRE function and also tried running a report using the template as the basis. But I get the error either way.
Does anyone know why this error is occurs or how to debug this issue. I saw some information about this in earlier threads but could not make much out of it.
Appreciate any assistance.Sanjay,
This is a very generic error...Couple of places to look for....
1)Reprocess the application (Modify application + Reassign SQL Index + Process Application)
2)optimizing the application sometimes helps (Full Optimize + Compress Database + Index defragmentation).
3)Create a "evdataserver_debug.txt" in user's private publication folder on server side to populate very detail level logging and check the log on client side EVDRE_LOG.txt for further peek into where things are getting messed up.
if evdataserver_debug.txt does not get populated on BPC 5.x...it is an issue with IIS authetication on Application server.
4)You have to check the event viewer into .NET server and also the BPC logs which can be found into
BPC\Logging for further details ..
Hope this helps..

ORA-06502 - Error when running "Ask The Expert 0.9"
Hi ,
I successfully installed "Ask the Expert" package with Apex 3.0 on Oracle 10g Database 10.2.0.1.0. No error ocurred during the import in my Apex environment.
Besides that, i'm having problems when i tried to run the "Aks the Expert". It always shows the following message errors:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
Error Unable to write activity log.
I think it was a problem with APEX instalation, but i could run the Sample Application of Apex without any problem.
I opened an SR in Metalink, but to my surprise, the analist of support don't know what's wrong with the demo "Ask de Expert".
The debug function of the application show the following commands before the error ocurrs:

Error when installing Lync components (Install CS-Database and Enable-CS Computer Fail)
Receiving the following error when running the Lync components install wizard. I believe the issue is related to having run the service and installed the database once before, but had an issue installing all of the Lync FE components due to a server
FQDN renaming issue. Server was then named properly, removing the appended suffix, re-ran and redeployed the topology, all great. Now, when running the Lync component install wizard again, we receive the following errors related to installation of the databases
and local stores. I noticed another article related to this problem and per the article, I uninstalled SQL Server, rebooted, re-installed SQL Server from scratch, rebooted, then went back to the Lync FE to run the Lync component wizard again, resulting in
these errors:
An error occurred while applying SQL script for the feature RtcDatabaseStore. For details, see the log file 'C:\Users\ADMINISTRATOR.ECSMARTSUITE\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Create-RtcDatabaseStore-ECSS-LYNCFE_rtclocal-[2014_07_25][16_56_00].log'An error occurred
while applying SQL script for the feature LyssStore. For details, see the log file 'C:\Users\ADMINISTRATOR.ECSMARTSUITE\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Create-LyssStore-ECSS-LYNCFE_lynclocal-[2014_07_25][16_56_20].log'An error occurred while applying SQL script for the

Looking at each of the three logs, received the following errors (in order of each log file listed above):
1. Creating login ECSS-LYNCFE\RTC Component Local Group. The server principal 'ECSS-LYNCFE\RTC Component Local Group' already exists.
2. Directory lookup for the file "\\ECSS-LYNCFE\D$\CsData\LyssStore\lynclocal\DbPath\lyss.mdf" failed with the operating system error 5(Access is denied.)It really looks like permissions - just for the heck of it, use a domain admin account to do this. Make sure you're in the local admin group on the server.
Check out the following link:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/9c4615cd-3fd8-46c3-a962-543e0528c26d/edge-server-installcsdatabase-fails-with-the-server-principal-servernamertc-component-local?forum=lyncdeploy
Here is a quote:
Install SQl management Studio and check if a SQL instance already exists. If so check the DBs and you'll see that the login already exist. Uninstall SQL and leave just Lync core components. Restart and reinstall afterwards. You have this problem probably because you cahnged the name of the machine after runing Lync setup. Hence thesql instance refuse the login.
We just solved this problem this way

SQL2005 cluster error MDB-05053 Errors when executing sql command: p nr="
Hi all,
We are migrating from 32 bit to x64 bit machines. SQL 2005 database on windows 2003.
I am trying to install E 4.7-200 SR1 on the clustered nodes. The installation manuals for 4.7 are very old and there is nothing for SQL2005 installation.
Now that some how we were able to have SQL up and running in clustered environment (It only took 10 days), After installing CI, I am not able to deploy the database and database creation phase is failing with the following error:
MDB-05053 Errors when executing sql command: <p nr="0"/>.
I am heavily relying on our server managment team on clustering and hoping they have done a good job, However I need some guidelines which can help me in verifying what they have done is correct and meets SAP and SQL requirments and issues we are facing is actually install problems not cluster.
SAP install manuals are not detailed in this regards. Also manuals are out dataed and they only show the sql 2000 clustering pre-requisit for 4.7 installls.
Can any one with clustering experience please help.
Calling out NPC, As his sql installation and upgrade manual has helped me with stand alone installs, Hoping he has some thing for clustering as well.
Regards,
KGHi,
What installation CD/DVD are you using?
Try look at SAP note [924288|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/924288],
and note [969699|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/969699],
and note [967124|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/967124],
and note [106275|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/106275].
In special the last note say at the end:
"3. You must use the 51031444 CD to install Enterprise 4.7 on an x64 platform with SQL Server 2005. This CD installs the central instances and database instances. To convert the A and B nodes in MSCS, use the SAP NetWeaver 04 SR1 installation master CD or DVD."
Hope this helps

ODBC error when running query on WEBI XI R2
Hi all,
I have a newly installed XIR2 on Win 2003 (32-bit), I created a simple Universe pointing to MSSQL 2005. I encountered the error below when running a query from WEBI:
Database Error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified. Error: WIS 10901
Any ideas? Thanks!
Cheers,
ArmsHi Armstrong,
If you are using an ODBC connection, make sure the connection is defined exactly the same on the server as it defined on your computer... With SQL you can try to create an OLE DB connection, then when you export the universe, the connection will still work... ODBC connections need to be created on all machines if you plan to use the desktop tools.
Hope this helps
