Error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0
So, I have a sligtly old computer that I use web browsers like midori on, because they are good for slow computers. Whenever I launch dwb or midori or luakit from the launcher in the Gnome shell, nothing happends. When launching from the terminal (dwb here, it happens for all three) I get:
dwb: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0: file too short
and when installing packages I get:
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so.0.16.10 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so.0 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so.4.3 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0.22.8 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libjavascriptcoregtk-1.0.so.0 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libxvidcore.so.4 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so.0.0.0 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0 is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libtotem.so is empty, not checked.
ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so is empty, not checked.
The package installs, and then this prints out.
What can I do to fix it?
Note: this happened after a system update

Alright, I read the thread and preformed
sudo pacman -Syyf <all packages updated>
but the option wasn't found (-f)
so i did
sudo pacman -Syyu <all packages updated>
and it spit out several hundered lines consisting of:
webkitgtk2: /usr/share/webkitgtk-1.0/images/panIcon.png exists in filesystem
except with different packages and files

Error while loading shared libraries libQtGui.so.4
I was "fixing" TeamSpeak 3 shortcut today, and I don't know why I logged on as root and copied all the libs from TS directory to /usr/lib. Apparently, there was libQtGui.so.4, and I have overwritten the "original".
Now my KDE (latest from repos) won't start with the message "error while loading shared libraries libqtgui.so.4" and "kdeinit4 cannot start: check your installation".
I have tried reinstalling KDE, but that didn't fix anything...
Any suggestions? Tnx in advance.

Error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so
Hi,
Hopefully, this is the right list for this problem. I am working on a computer that has Linux 2.6.20-1.2952.fc6. I am trying to deploy a program to a Sun SPOT using over-the-air functionality; however, I get the following message:
-pre-suite:
-do-suite:
[exec] /usr/java/SunSPOT/sdk/bin/squawk: error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
BUILD FAILED
/usr/java/SunSPOT/sdk/ant/suite.xml:38: exec returned: 127When I try to locate this file, I can see it in in the following locations:
/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_02/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so
/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_02/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so
How can I resolve this error?
Thanks,
Danielmake sure to include one of those two directories in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. Probably the client directory one. And only the directoy (i.e. that path minus the libjvm.so part).

Error while loading shared libraries: libgij.so.7rh
Hi everyone,
I just installed jdk1.6.0_06 on red hat linux 5 server, and try to run a simply java class but have the following error message:
java: error while loading shared libraries: libgij.so.7rh: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I have added the following into /etc/profile
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_06
export PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin
export CLASSPATH=.:$JAVA_HOME/lib:$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib:$CLASSPATH
Can you kindly indicate the cause for this issue? Thanks a lot.
Best,
VovoTsaiYou have GNU Java installed by default on many Linux distributions and this is being picked up ahead of the Sun Java. You can change the PATH declaration to make sure that the Sun Java is found first.
export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin:$PATHI have removed GNU Java from all my Linux installations. -

We had systems problems and had to reformat our system disc. (This is on our Development system)
Now I'm trying to (re-) configure all of the parameters and packages necessary for the Database which is still resident on the box.
Our Oracle Database is intact.
I've specified all of the Kernell Parameters, and
I've installed all of the packages EXCEPT one... compat-libstdc++
I could not find this package using the YUM INSTALL command.
Likewise I could not find the same package on our Production System,
and our Production System is working fine.
But something is definitely missing, because I'm getting this error:
error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ERROR:
ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
Also
On our Production system I found this link in the /usr/lib directory:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jul 16 2007 libaio.so.1 -> libaio.so.1.0.1
But
On our Development system, (The one I'm having the problem with),
This file does not exist
Can you please suggest to me what it is I need to do?
Thanks Gary.Did you install the libaio package? If this is a 64-bit system, make sure you install the 64-bit version of this package also.

[Solved] Inkscape: error while loading shared libraries
Hi! A few days ago, Inkscape started giving me this error whenever I try to launch it:
inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler.so.48: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I reinstalled both poppler and Inkscape, but it didn't change anything. Does anyone know why it happened and how to fix it, please?

Check if you have the correct package versions and if /usr/lib/libpoppler.so.49 is present on your system.
/usr/lib/libpoppler.so.49 is present and I do have inkscape 0.91-3. And the poppler package is in 0.30.0-1.
Trilby wrote:Really, it didn't change *anything*? How did you reinstall them? Did you do a full upgrade (pacman -Syu), or did you just reinstalled the cached package file? If you updated inkscape with pacman and get that exact same error message, then your mirror is horribly out of date - and apparently even out of sync with itself.
I did a few full upgrades since the problem appeared and I used "pacman -Rcsn poppler" to remove all of its dependencies (including Inkscape) at once (probably useless, but it's too late now) and installed everything again afterwards.

I've downloaded the flashplayer_11_sa_debug.i386.tar.gz file and extracted it on my RHEL box. When I run ./flashplayerdebugger I get the following error:
./flashplayerdebugger: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
This lib is found in /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6 on this machine.
It is my understanding that flashplayer has native 64 bit support on Linux and therefore should be compatible with lib64 libaries, so why I am I seeing this error? I've been told it's because it's a 32 bit version of the player....
I also see this error if I install the flashplayer_11_sa.i386.tar.gz projector instead of the debugger version.
There don't seem to be any specific 64bit versions of the flashplayer from the download page: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, yet there seem to be beta releases of a 64 bit Linux player which are no longer available.
Can anyone help me with this? Where can I get a 64bit v11 flashplayer for Linux?
ThanksHi MurrayFurtado,
The builds you are attempting to download from that page are the 32-bit content debuggers and standalone players. To download the 64-bit players go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer (or get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions).
Since you didn't specify which version of RHEL you have, FP 11 is supported on RHEL 5.6 or later (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html).
