Error with javax.ejb.*

Hi,
I am new to J2EE. I downloaded j2sdk1.4.1_01, j2sdkee1.3.1, and Ant 1.3 on a Windows XP Home Edition platform. Downloaded as well the Tutorial; which what I was testing it with. In the very first example (converter) as I did "ant converter" to compile, it fired a couple of errors:
1. 16 Bit MS-DOS subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe
Error while setting up environment for the application
It continues running and then says
2. package javax.ejb does not exist
I already checked my PATH several times and included <J2EE_HOME>\bin and also <J2EE_HOME>\bin\j2ee.jar
It did not work. What's going on? Any help would be appreciated.

why is u r classpath J2EE_HOME\bin\j2ee.jar i guess it should under lib
J2EE_HOME\lib\j2ee.jar

JCA 1.0 inbound communication with javax.ejb.Handle...?

Hello,
I made a study regarding inbound communication in JCA. The assumption is about that resource adapter is effectively the client of the EJB container; so I implemented the JCA 1.0 resource adapter as it was a client.
In detail: when I got a connection from resource container I pass the session bean's Handle (it is reachable through javax.ejb.EJBObject::getHandle). When resource adapter wants to deliver something asynchronously it retrieves the session bean by its Handle and calls one of its method (e.g. receive). This works.
I ported this simple app to weblogic, websphere and Sun ref 1.4 without problems. Do anyone knows about standard or specs which prevents performing inbound communication this way ?

Error with stateless EJB

Hi,
I am new to WebLogic and I trying to learn it. I was doing an exercise with a stateless EJB I got from a book and get this error:
javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Cannot instantiate class: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory. Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory

That class is already in my class path and still does not work. I am using WLS 8.1 on a Linux Suse 9.0 OS, and my IDE is Eclipse. The code seems to be fine seems it is deployed flawlessly by the server. No errors, no warnings. I can post if some one needs to see it. Any ideas?

If anyone is interested, and since it seems to be a common anoying problem, the solution is to put the weblogic.jar files in the classpath, and all of the client ones as well.

NoInitialContextException error with simple EJB

I am trying some of the basic EJB excercises in Mark Wutka's Using Java 2 Enterprixe Edition. The EJB is deployed using the server that comes with the Sun ej2ee SDK.
When starting the client, I get
Exception: javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class
name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in
an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
I am confused about this, as I understood that when using the j2ee server, this parameter is already defined via the j2ee.jar library. The only reference to this error I could find stated that it would occur if the j2ee.jar file is not in the classpath. Unfortunately, it is in mine, so it doesn't help.
I've included the code for the ejb, but it's just generic code I've seen in lots of tutorials.

Just now, I accidentally ran the client without stating the j2ee server, and got exactly the same error message.
I'm wondring if there's any server configuration I need to do that hasn't been done.

Compilation errors with CMP EJBs in OC4J

I have created several new EJB's in JDeveloper using the
EJB creation wizard. For most of them I chose the CMP Entity Beans from Tables wizard. Now I have already created some EJB's this way and have used them successfully. But for some reason when I try to start my OC4J, I get the following error messages for all my new EJB's:
Error creating table: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
Why is this?

The out-of-the-box behaviour of OC4J is to try to create tables for CMP beans when they are deployed. It sounds like a redeployment may be occuring bwhen you restart OC4J which is causing it to try and create the tables.
I think that even though you see these error messages, the container will start and your beans will function.
You can do one of two things to alter this situation if you want
a) manually drop the tables from the db before you do the next deployment
b) set the default behaviour of OC4J to drop tables when an application is undeployed (which happens before a redeployment is done) -- this can be done by setting an additional attribute on the j2ee/home/config/application.xml file -- "autodelete-tables=true"

Package javax.ejb not found error

Hi there,
I've downloaded j2se 1.4 and j2ee 1.3.1 and installed it on Windows XP. I set the environment variables as described. When I compile a .java file that imports the javax.ejb.* package, then I get an error "package javax.ejb not found". I feel like an idiot and I know it's something to do with the environment variables. (or just XP, most likely)

How are you compiling your source? If you're using an IDE then you should edit your project classpath to include the j2ee.jar file (it'll probably be in the lib directory of your J2EE installation).
If you're doing it from the command line then type in SET CLASSPATH, look at the classpath it returns and check that it includes the j2ee.jar file.

Error: binding="#{customerAction.outputPanel}": javax.ejb.EJBException

Hi every body,
I have a problem since few days and I need someone to help me.
I have implemented a .xhtml file that contains an outpuPanel and a HtmlPanelMenu. the outputPanel is binded to a htmlA4joutpuPanel property in my backingBean.
when I execute the application, I got no error, But when I click to one panelMenuItem, which update it with the action attribute, I got an error coming from the binding attribute of the outpuPanel tag (see error below). the methods in my backingBean works well I have test them.
I have deleted what updateOutputputPanel() contains and the error still the same.

Some of this is speculation, but it seems you are getting an error with your EJB configuration, possibly unrelated to your immediate task concerning the bound panel. Is it possible that the EJB aspects of the managed bean will cause an error during the subsequent request?

Javax.ejb.NoSuchEJBException in CAF application

Let me just rephrase a little bit, the problem was not clear to me.
ENV : JBoss 4.2.1 GA with EJB3
I am deploying with success an EJB3 application. At the first EJB lookup i am receiving this error :

So if i look in the tmp/sessions folder, there is no state saved here.
The problem really is that this session is not even passivated to the cache, and i don'n know why. There is nothing in the logs about the passivation ( errors or so ), only repeated call to activate this session that fail off course.
Can anyone pls tell me how can i monitor the passivation process (i have x-tra logging on org.jboss.ejb3 but it doesn't help), or even how to disable session caching at this moment.

In our projects we are movig XI3.0 objects to PI7.1, for that we have done the Export of IR objects from XI3.0 & Import it in PI7.1. All the objectys are imported successfully in the IR of PI7.1.

Suddenly the server has started throwing an exception. I don't know what would have caused it. I also reverted all the changes from when the error started. The action stalls but it completes the process.

RWB error: javax.ejb.CreateException XIRWBUSER cannot log

Hi,
When I try to monitor the messages processed by my integration server (RWB interface->Message Monitor->is.[instance].[server]), an authorization error occured:
"Unknown error: javax.ejb.CreateException: You cannot log on to system [SID] with user XIRWBUSER"
I ve read the following post but I didn't find any answer:
Demo application: "You cannot log on to system .... with user XIRWBUSER
My XIRWBUSER has several roles:
SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER_MAIN
Even if I give him the sap_all and sap_new profiles, I still have the same error.

If I try to self test the runtime workbench component (component), all lights are green! Moreover, "aii properties" seem to be fine.

I'm using ASMA for File name.
I have set transfer mode as Binary in both sender & receiver, should it be text - UTF - 8 by any chance....
I have requested JCE policy to be deploy for unlimited strength.
Do you think that will resolve my issue & is there anything else that I can check.

Error retriving session EJB with getEJBObject() from handle

the Code i use is
CREATE:
Handle handle = user.getHandle();
session.setAttribute("user",handle);
GET:
Handle handle = (Handle)session.getAttribute("user");
UserEJB user = (UserEJB)handle.getEJBObject();

ive read several topics that say that this should work but it doesnt??
The bean is a Stateful Session EJB.
Ive tried to recompile both client and server serveral times, to prevent te stubs from beeing different. But no result.

Javax.ejb.ObjectNotFoundException: Bean with primary key '555' was not foun

When I delete a particular entity bean instance, i get the following exception:
javax.ejb.ObjectNotFoundException: Bean with primary key '555' was not found by 'findByPrimaryKey'.
But, the instance is being deleted from the database.
Anyone please help,

Is it calling findByPrimaryKey before or after the call to remove? What is the PrimaryKey class type of your bean? Is the client passing a correct instance? All are things to be considered when troubleshooting your application. If more assistance is required, then seeing the relevant source code would be more helpful.
But, the instance is being deleted from the database.As is generally to be expected. No?
