  • Expand Operator generates code errors in OWB 10g2 map

I suspect that there are few people that actually use the Expand Operator in OWB from the lack of threads in this forum; however I'll give this a shot.
I have a map function that returns a user-defined object type which I then use an Expand Operator to break into its component data parts. The function works Ok. The map validates Ok. The code generates Ok. However, on deployment the map generates errors:
    ORA-06550: line 768, column 97:
PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "." when expecting one of the following:
    * & = - + < / > at in is mod remainder not rem then
    <an exponent (**)> <> or != or ~= >= <= <> and or like LIKE2_
LIKE4_ LIKEC_ between overlaps || multiset year DAY_ member
    SUBMULTISET_
The symbol "* was inserted before "." to continue.
Compiling the package body in SQL developer, I can spot the exact lines that produce this error, so I know it's coming from the Expand Operator's generated code. In every case, the Expand Operator is producing lines like this (code generalized):
    (("[function_name]"("[map_name]"."[map_input_parameter]"))).BYTES_COUNT
    (("[function_name]"("[map_name]"."[map_input_parameter]"))).ROWS_INSERTED
BYTES_COUNT and ROWS_INSERTED are data components of the user_defined object type returned by the function.
The problem is the # of parentheses surrounding the function name and the returning component being outside these parentheses. If I move the returning component in between the first and second closing parentheses, the code will compile:
    (("[function_name]"("[map_name]"."[map_input_parameter]"*).BYTES_COUNT))*
    (("[function_name]"("[map_name]"."[map_input_parameter]"*).ROWS_INSERTED))*
IMO, this is an OWB bug !! The Expand Operator can't be used without editing the code after deployment.

Unfortunately breaking apart the user-defined type in an Expression Operator produces the same error message and virtually the same code problem:
    (([function_name]("[map_name]"."[input_parameter]")).BYTES_COUNT/* EXPRESSION.OUTGRP1.BYTES_COUNT */)
As in the Expand Operator the line above compiles when the data type component ("BYTES_COUNT") is manually moved between the first and second closing parentheses:
    (([function_name]("[map_name]"."[input_parameter]").BYTES_COUNT/* EXPRESSION.OUTGRP1.BYTES_COUNT */) )

    According to metalink:
    "Cause:
The cause of the problem is the existence of public synonyms pointing to the java tables.
    CREATE$JAVA$LOB$TABLE and/or JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE
The presence of the Public synonyms prevents the Runtime Assistant from creating new tables. This can be verified from sqlplus, connected as the sys user:
    SQL> select owner,synonym_name, table_name, table_owner
    2 from dba_synonyms
    3* where synonym_name like '%JAVA%TABLE';
    Solution
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps as a sys user from sql*plus. If required, change the synonym names to match the names returned in the select statement:
    . DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM CREATE$JAVA$LOB$TABLE;
    2. DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE;
Once complete, start the Runntime Assistant and perform the installation. When the Assistant completes, verify the log file does not contain errors or exceptions."
    Hope it works!

  • FDMEE Import error "No periods were identified for loading data into table 'AIF_EBS_GL_BALANCES_STG'

    Hi,
We are having trouble while importing one ledger 'GERMANY EUR GGAAP'. It works for Dec 2014 but while trying to import data for 2015 it gives an error.
Import error shows " RuntimeError: No periods were identified for loading data into table 'AIF_EBS_GL_BALANCES_STG'."
I tried all Knowledge docs from Oracle support but no luck. Please help us resolving this issue as its occurring in our Production system.
I also checked all period settings under Data Management> Setup> Integration Setup > Global Mapping and Source Mapping and they all look correct.
Also its only happening to one ledger rest all ledgers are working fine without any issues.
    Thanks

there are some Support documents related to this issue.
I would suggest you have a look to them.

  • RFC metadata import error - Couldnu0092t find the branch for version with id

    Hi All,
When re-importing RFC meta-data, system returned following error message   <i>Couldn’t find the branch for version with id = <version id></i>
I am not able to delete the existing (already imported) RFC meta-data.  However, I am able to import the same RFC into a different Software Component.
The error is described in SAP note – 710998, unfortunately, this note only references  XI 2.0
Is there anyway other than these-
    1) Deleting a new SWCV and importing it and then import the RFC and make Release transfer from new SWCV to Old  SWCV. If so, is there any impact on my QA systems and Productions systems during transport.
    2) Deleting the existing SWC and Reimporting from SLD and trying to import the RFC again and redoing all the design
    3) Exporting the current SWC and deleting it and importing the same file and then trying out the RFC import.
These options I just thought as an workaround solutions. Because i am not able to try these, as i don't have any test systems for this. Let me know any suggestions on these.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Moorthy

Yes, the used structures were imported from an old XI system. But I created the mapping new on the PI and put the used externel definitions manually to the mapping. That worked fine but now everytime when saving the mapping this error occurs. Btw both structures are used in other mappings, too, and they can be modified without any problems.
Which jdk version do you mean? Client or server?
    Regards.
    Oliver.

  • What are the best approaches for mapping re-start in OWB?

What are the best approaches for mapping re-start in OWB?
We are using OWB repository 10.2.0.1.0 and OWB client 10.2.0.1.31. The Oracle version is 10 G (10.2.0.3.0). OWB is installed on Linux.
We have number of mappings. We built process flows for mappings as well.
I like to know, what are the best approches to incorportate re-start options in our process. ie a failure of mapping in process flow.
How do we re-cycle failed rows?
Are there any builtin features/best approaches in OWB to implement the above?
Does runtime audit tables help us to build re-start process?
If not, do we need to maintain our own tables (custom) to maintain such data?
How did our forum members handled above situations?
    Any idea ?
    Thanks in advance.
    RI

    Hi RI,
How many mappings (range) do you have in a process flows?Several hundreds (100-300 mappings).
If we have three mappings (eg m1, m2, m3) in process flow. What will happen if m2 fails?Suppose mappings connected sequentially (m1 -> m2 -> m3). When m2 fails then processflow is suspended (transition to m3 will not be performed). You should obviate cause of error (modify mapping and redeploy, correct data, etc) and then repeat m2 mapping execution from Workflow monitor - open diagram with processflow, select mapping m2 and click button Expedite, choose option Repeat.
In re-start, will it run m1 again and m2 son on, or will it re-start at row1 of m2?You can specify restart point. "at row1 of m2" - I don't understand what you mean (all mappings run in Set based mode, so in case of error all table updates will rollback,
but there are several exception - for example multiple target tables in mapping without corelated commit, or error in post-mapping - you must carefully analyze results of error).
What will happen if m3 fails?Process is suspended and you can restart execution from m3.
By having without failover and with max.number of errors=0, you achieve re-cycle failed rows to zero (0).This settings guarantee existence only two return result of mapping - SUCCSES or ERROR.
What is the impact, if we have large volume of data?In my opinion for large volume Set based mode is the prefered processing mode of data processing.
With this mode you have full range enterprise features of Oracle database - parallel query, parallel DML, nologging, etc.

    You can use

DIP_GEN_SEARCH_EXCEPTION error is generic error. Try setting high debug level to generate more details.

  • Runtime Mapping Transformation Error

    Hi Experts,
I am doing a file to idoc scenario in which the sender system is MDM and the Idocs are to be received in the R/3 system.
I have generated XSD from the IDOC itself , that is MATMAS05 and used it as the source structure by importing in External Definition and the targer is of course the Idoc.
In SXMB_MONI i get the Runtime Mapping Transformation error. What can be the reason for this.I read somewhere that the XSD and the xml file that is being picked might have different structures.
But i checked and they are same.
Only the problem can be with the encoding part.
In the XML structure of the Idoc , it is UTF-8 and also after exporting it to file it is UTF-8. But after importing it in the External Definition,it becomes ISO-8859-1 and we are unable to change it.
Also, the xml file that is given from the MDM system has encoding as UTF-8.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks in Advance.
    -Shweta.

    Hi,
    1) check out imported xsd is correct , valid. Hope while importing you have used Type as "XSD" and then after importing, check out the messages tab to know this
    2) In the mapping, did you map all the madatory fields ? like some of the attributes like BEGIN? For this BEGIN attribute map with constant value. also check all the mandatory nodes/fields
    3) check the mapping in the mapping editor independently in Repository by picking the input xml from the SXMB_MONI. So that you can test the mapping
Hope this will solve the mapping problem. btw, it is prefer to have exact error posted here.

I was trying to use the pre-mapping process operator in owb 9i. Problem is that the manual does not specify how the inputs need to be connected to this operator.
Following is what I went through -
I created a mapping table operator and a mapping dimension operator and connected these two. Then i created a pre-mapping process operator selecting the LTRIM function. Further I connected one of the table attributes to this pre-mapping operator as input and connected the output of this pre-mapping operator to the appropriate dimension operator attribute.
On performing Validate, following error message was flashed -
VLD-2451 : Illegal connection to pre-mapping process operator
I am trying to learn how to use OWB 9i from the manual. So my interpretation of the use of the pre-mapping process operator may be wrong.
    In any case kindly help,
    Thanks,
    Saju

Pre-mapping process is use to perform some operations preceding to mapping operation itself.
For example, if your mapping is designed to incrementally append data to table for the definite time interval (witch is a parameter of the map operation) you might want to perform the table data cleanup for that period. That will allow for reload data number of time.
In this case you have to define the procedure witch perform cleanup and than include the call to that procedure as a pre-mapping process.
Other examples of pre- and post mapping process is disabling referential integrity before loading and re-enabling them after loading.
Anyway, OWB documentation has clear definition for pre- and post-mapping processes.

  • Payroll Journal Import Error EF04

    Hi,
we are working in oracle applications 11i (11.5.0) TEST Instance.
As monthly operations the payroll personnel upload the salaries journal to Gl Interface with oracle web adi. We have oracle hrms full install.
We are trying to setup and use the direct payroll gl interface. The following steps are done so far:
    1. Cost Allocation Flexfield is setup and points to the same value sets as in the Accounting Key Flexfield.
    2. KFF qualifiers NOW are all enabled for all segments.
    3. 5 Costing accounts for 5 elements are entered directly to an employee at employee assignment element entry level.
    4. GL map to costing segments is done and although the employee is paid in foreign currency, his payroll is assigned to the functional set of book.
    5. costing is run
    6. cost break down report for costing run and only 2 lines are there! this is my first issue
    7. transfer to GL is requested .
    8. On the attempt to import the journals from payroll the request completes with warning And the two line have error code EF04
The GL super user have checked the 5 accounts and they are valid and their combinations exist in the system.
What do we need to check?
    Thanks ...

    Result="21_ADNIP"
    Else
