Dear friends,
I have an error " net book value positive in area 03" when creating asset using AS01.
"The Complete error is : Your posting has produced a positive net book value in area 03, This depr area is managed on the liabilities sida. The area can only have negative net book values. It does not manage APC.
i already check my customizing for depreciation area 03 -  Special reserves because of spec tax depr , and the setting for special depr already set to Only Negative values or Zero Values.
Please anyone can help me for fix that problem
thanks a lot
Regards
-Silvy-

hi
Since you are indeed working with the depreciation area for 'special reserve', the arithmatic for this derived depreciation area would be ideally tax depreciation area - book depreciation area.
kindly confirm if this the arithmatic used for your depreciation area 03.
if this is not the case please let me know the arithmatic used for the derived depreciation area 03.
thanks

  • Problem with depreciation posting for an asset with a '0' net book value.

    Hi,
I have a problem with depreciation posting on one asset. I think it should not be calculated and posted at all.
On 1st November 2010 (our Fiscal year starts on 1st November) there was acquisition posted to an asset and then it was reversed on the same day - so the net book value was '0'.
In AFAB depreciation run for April 2011 - it posted depreciatoion of 0.01 Euro, so now the book value is -0.01.
Do you know how this could have happened and what can I do to get the value of this asset back to 0?
    Thank you,
    Karol

    Hi Murlidhar,
    Thank you for your reply.
I just have one doubt - as depreciation of 0.01 Eur was posted in previous period leaving net value of asset equal to -0.01 Eur.
Shouldn't I get ritd of this asset value before I proceed with the steps you suggested?
I think it is not possible to reverse the depreciation - so I struggle to find a way to bring asset value back to zero.
    Thank you,
    Karol

  • Which table contains net book value for Assets created with AS91.

Which table contains net book value for Assets created with AS91.
I have a problem locating where the net book value is stored in SAP.  Is it simply calculated and not stored in any one place?  I am trying to predict how SAP will calculate the net book value for some assets we plan on converting, but my formula doesn't always work consistently and I have not idea what is going on.  If it is stored in a table some place, can anyone please let me know!
    Thank you all

    Hi anar.samadzade & Michael Stewart
It is not possible to directly get net book value of an any Table. You must migrate the gross book value (acquisition cost) and the accumulated depreciation. SAP will then calculate the NBV.
Gross Block & Accumulate Dep you will get from Table: ANLC

  • Posting Unplanned Depreciation when asset net book value is zero

We recently transferred some assets from one company code to another.  However, when they transferred, the depreciation all reversed out YTD.
We are now trying to post the YTD depreciation back in under the original company code, but when we try posting unplanned depreciation, the following error message appears -
"In area 01, you can only post manual dep. up to the amount 0.00"
I believe this is because the asset does not have any net book value now.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
    Many thanks,

    Hi Susan,
do you have the option to reverse the transfer postings? If so, you could specify another period control for transfer postings (such as fiscal year start, etc.) in your depreciation key, with which you can influence how much depreciation is left back respectively transferred.
It is correct that you can´t post an unplanned depreciation on the sending asset now, because the net book value would go below zero. As unplanned depreciation does not influence the ordinary depreciation in the year of posting, this value below zero can not be adjusted with a reduction of planned ordinary depreciation.
I am wondering which effect you´d like to have on the sending asset. Did you post a complete retirement? If so, there should be no APC left which you can depreciate on the sending asset. And as the net book value is zero already, which effect do you want to get? You have to keep in mind that the non-depreciated APC will be continued to depreciate (normally) on the receiving asset. But maybe I misunderstood the problem here ...

  • Error while calculating the net present value

    Dear experts,
Please help me in solving the following error.
I am trying to do project vaibility analysis through pre investment analysis in appropriation request, interm I'm trying to calculate the IRR for the project.
I have created the appropriation request and given all the data in that including the planed values for the project.
In Variants tab of appropriation request, preinv. analysis sub tab, i have clicked the button Calculate preinvestment analysis figures , ( I hvae not mentioned any values in that screen, its picking the plan cost from the planed values of the appropriation request) there I'm getting an error saying
Error while calculating the net present value
If I open the message it is as follows:
Error while calculating the net present value*
    *Message no. AO215*
    Diagnosis
An error occurred during calculation of the net present value.
The yield curve for determining the net present value is not completely maintained. Possible causes are:
    1. Evaluation type IM01 does not exist (table ATSYC).
    2. Yield curve types 9990 (bid) and 9991 (ask) have not been created (table JBD14) for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
    3. Reference interest rates have not been created for the yield curves (tables T056R and JBD15).
    4. Interest rates are not maintained for the complete planning time period for the reference interest rates.
    5. Under certain circumstances, the standard exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' may be inconsistent.
    Procedure
    Check your Customizing settings:
    1. SAP supplies the evaluation types.
Remember, SAP supplies the evaluation types in client 000. You have to copy them into your working clients. If you do not have them in your system, you can create them in Customizing for the Treasury component (Treasury Management -> Market Risk Management -> Evaluations -> Define Default Settings). Create evaluation type IM01 with bid yield curve type 9990 and ask yield curve type 9991.
    2. In Customizing for appropriation requests (under Planning), create a bid yield curve type 9990 and an ask yield curve type for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
    3. Create at least one reference interest rate for each yield curve.
    4. Maintain the reference rates, starting at the minimum fron the point at which you you have planned costs or revenue.
    5. Check Customizing of the exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' in the IMG under Global Settings -> Currencies.
I have checked all the procedures of the said customization and the values are similar to that of the error message, but still I'm unable to proceed further.
I have goe through the note 160375, but did not succeed on this issue.
Can any one help me out in solving the above error and also can any one explain me the process in SAP to calculate IRR?
Is there any more customization missing or whats wrong going in that process?
    Please help me out...
    Thanks in advance..

    Praveen.

  • Calculation of Depreciation on Net Book Value after posting Revaluation on

How to calculate the depreciation on Net book value after posting Balance sheet revaluation ABAW? The depreciation is been calculated on APC and not on NBV, as the APC of asset has been revalued after the revalution posting, ideally the next period depreciation should be calculating on the new NBV, but the system is not doing this. Is there any specific configuration that Iam missing here.
    Kindly Reply.

  • Written Down Value Or Net Book Value

    Dear Friends:
The Written Down Value Or Net Book Value given by the client is different in the year 2006 and also different in 2005.Both the years have different amounts.
Also Depreciation as on current date is different and Accumlated depreciation is different which based on last year.
How should i upload this values to T.Code AS91?Please advise.
    Regards
    MSReddy

    hi,
    you've 2 alternatives - ask your consultant:
    1) upload (NBV) net book value and remaining time
    2) upload accumulated APC and accumulated depr. and Planned useful life
-> SAP corrects false depr. with 1st depr.run

  • Net booking value  calculation

HI experts please suggest me how to proceed.
I have a 2 fields in DSO deb_credit and net value.
I the query there are 2 restricted keyfigs created based on these 2 fields and later the value of net booking value was calculated based on this.
ex: as in report  restricted keyfigs 1 is defined as  deb_credit  = c then x= net value
restricted keyfigs 2 is defined as  deb_credit  = d then y= net value
    now net booking value = y - x.
Now there is a open hub on the same ODS.
They want us to populate the net booking value also as per the report.
    can some one suggest

From what i understand from your question, you want to populate a key-figure Net Booking Value at the open hub level right?
So in your DSO itself add a new key-figure Net Booking Value and write a routine either at the field level or in the end routine to do the logic based on deb_credit field. This shouldnt be difficult at all, let me know if you need help with the code.

  • Remaining Net Book Value after Settlement and Depreciation Run

    Experts,
I have an AUC Asset that has not been settled for two years.  After recording additional current year expenses to the AUC (F-90) in December, running depreciation for area 01, and settling the asset to another fixed asset, the December depreciation is being reversed out and a net book value remaining.  This is being carried forward to the next year.
Thinking it was an issue with depreciation and current period acquisition postings, all F-90s were reversed and reposted to November and Depreciation again re-ran.  The asset was then settled again, only this time the November acquisitions and the December acquisition depreciation postings were reversed and carried forward to the next year.
Any ideas what could be causing this and how to resolve it?
    Thanks
    Jon

The value date of the settlement was 12/31/2009.

  • Rounding net book value - Depreciation calculated even 0%

    Dear all,
    I'm becoming crazy with ERP6.
We are upgrading our SAP from 4.7 to ERP6, EA-FIN is active.
Now if I look the asset explorer or whatever FI-AA reporting with the planned depreciation, I have a difference on the depreciation values, but only for lands ( Depreciation key 0000) - We have set "round net book value at the end of the year", but It seems that now, the system rounds the net book value, even if the depreciation key is 0% . (not the case in 4.7)
    please advice
    Thanks
    nat

    Hi,
This has nothing to do with the depreciation key.
If you have flagged in tr. OAYO the following rounding specifications:
    Ind: Round net book value
This indicator specifies that the net book value of an asset should be rounded to whole units of currency at the end of the fiscal year.
You specify the type of rounding in the same screen. ...."
    .....the system makes this rounding.
But this was also the same in former releases.
    regards Bernhard

  • Incorrect net book value of asset

    Hi Experts,
    I have a scenario as below :
SAP has recorded an incorrect net book value of asset # xxxxx due to an intial write-off via depreciation expense of a credit balance.   Only 1 period of depreciation should be booked.
    How it is possible ?
Can any body through some light on this.
    Awaiting your reply.
    Thanks & Regards
    Aditya

    Hi,
You would have been posted your question with the actual scenario with values, rather than asking general queries.
Hope you understood what i am trying to say.

  • Net Book Value calculation Issue Manual Legacy Data Transfer

    Dear All
I want to Upload balance of old fixed Asset in newly configure System that are managed manually in previous year, I want to Post Their previous Current Written Down Value and Current Accumulated Depreciation when i go via IMG Create Legacy Data Transfer and enter,
Take Over Value            of assets  I entered for example
    Accusation Value  100,000
Accumulated ordinary depreciation (Old depreciation in Previous Years) RS.10,000
    Net book Value Rs.110,000
and system Calculate the Depreciation on 110,000 as WDV 10%  that is 11,000
My requirement is that it will Calculate it as  100000-10000
Depreciation should be calculated at a 90000 @ 10% WDV that is 9000
Please suggest me, how i can do.
or other path or T.code where i can do.
i am new please explain in detail.
    Regard
    Khalid mahmood

    Dear Atif and AP
Issue is not with Depreciation key it is working well according to my requirement but the issue is that base value that the system use is wrong.
i want that the system calculate depreciation at   Cumulative Acquisition value (Purchase /capitalize/ cost price) less  Accumulated Depreciation
is equals to Written Down Value.
I want that system use WDV as a base in each year after deducting year depreciation  or  (Acqusition cost - Accumulated depreciation).
I post a new asset and assign depreciation key it working well as required.
But i going to post Old asset for example Rs.100000 in year 2006. its Accumulated depreciation is suppose Rs.30000 in Year end 2011.
    i want to post that asset in year 2012 as 100000-30000  and WDV IS Rs.70000 ;
i want that it will use 70000  as a base in the coming year to calculate depreciation.
My response is 100000+30000 and use 130000 as base to calculate the ordinary depreciation for the next year.
Now Please read the first thread again and guide me according to my scenario.
or tell me how i post the old asset value and their depreciation.
    Regard
    Khalid Mahmood
