Errors in alert log and listener log and "alter database mount exclusive"

Hello!
I need a help.
Database 11R2 works under MS Windows Server.
Whwn I start it using Services, according alert log it is started by command "alter database mount exclusive".
Next - alter database open.
After this, it seams that program, which should put data into database, can not work with it, because I see errors in alert log: ora-12537, 12560, 12535, 12570, 12547.
What does itmean and what to do?
This is extract from alert_log

Thank you.
But in the same time - when I see in alert log those error messages ora -12560, 12537,12535,12570 and so on - clients programs, whiie try to connect, hang up.
For sql plus takes 20 minutes to connect.

  • ORA-12535 error but TNSPing Works and listener logs connection

We recently migrated our firewall and then started seeing this problem for users outside of our own subnet. However, although the user gets this error when launching the application, the workstation is able to TNSPing the server successfully and listener.log does log the connection.
I was hoping someone might have some ideas or suggestions as to what might be causing the error despite the apparent connectivity to the database.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the suggestions.
    1. telnet <host> 1521 connects
    2. sqlplus <username>/<pwd>@<instance> returns the ORA-12535 error
Finally, the sqlnet.log on the client side doesn't log anything when launching the application so I have no information as to what exactly is occurring at that point. However, the sqlplus command above logged the following:
    VERSION INFORMATION:
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
Windows NT TCP/IP NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.1.0 - Production

    Tracing not turned on.

I've been doing more research on this -- please note that I'm not an Oracle dba so I am just getting familiar with lots of things -- and have learned that user connect requests come in through 1521 but are then randomly redirected to other ports. Given the new firewall, I'm wondering if it's an issue that the random ports being selected aren't open for the users outside of our subnet. Does this sound like a plausible explanation? If so, how do administrators generally handle this -- by opening the necessary ports on the firewall? Is there some other standard approach?
Again, thanks so much for any assistance you can provide.

    Nicolas .
    Cause
The error caused by the NFS locking issue.
    Fix
    Workarounds:
    1) Use "nolock" NFS mount option (disables locking entirely).
    2) Manually clear locks on NetApp filer after every client reboot.

  • I deleted listener.log file !!!!

    HELP !
I was reading a book , and tried something stupid which is deleting the listener.log file because it was huge!
and now I'm getting the following error message:
ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 1 of thread 1
    ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: '/oracle/oradata/work/redo102.log'
    I don't have a copy of the file , I just typed :
    rm '/oracle/oradata/work/redo102.log'
and it's gone , and now I'm in trouble !
it's 2:00 AM here , please help me out !

    Bomayed,
I'm afraid, you are not very clear in what do you want to achieve. Open the db after loss a redolog file, or import ?
appearantly I have deleted a redo log fie That's why I never use .log as extension name for a redolog file... this is not a log as alert.log or listener.log...
Anyway, you don't need to restore whole database.

  • Different listener log file  in RAC system

we have 4 nodes 11.1.0.7 RAC at redhat 5.1 linux system.
I just find there are two listener log file (listener.log; listener_nodename.log ) in each node.
I want to know which difference function is in both listener.log and listener_nodename.log?
When or which condition does node run( record data) in listener.log?
When or which condition does node run( record data) in listener_nodename.log
I saw the 3 node3 listener_nodename.log is wroking on and one node listener.log is workig on.
    why?
Does some experts explain this point for me?
    Thanks

I make some clears for this requirements.
we have a schedule backup and stores in ASM diskgroup in SAN.
As system admin and policy of SAN disaster recovery, we need to generate backup in a local file system.
in this case, we only backup database plus archival files in external file system. but I still saw snapshot control file is still put into default linux location.
I am not able to see this snapshot in external file system.
For SAN disaster recovery, do we need to save a control file snapshot in external file?
Can I apply BACKUP CURRENT CONTROLFILE TO DESTINATION "external file path" for SAN disaster recovery?
    Thanks in advance!

It works well in linux environment but here in windows its not working. Can someone please tell me how to rotate it in Windows environment.
    Regards

    Hi
I tried the following and it worked on another server.
    C:\> cd \oracle\ora92\network\log
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> lsnrctl set log_status off
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> rename listener.log listener.old
    C:\oracle\ora92\network\log> lsnrctl set log_status on
But name of my listener is LISTENER_1. So these commands are not working here.

    copy listener.log listener_<today>.log

    Have a look here:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Batch-File
You have the commands, so you only need the batch file around it

  • Listener.ora and tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora

Hello newbie here, trying to look into simple RAC setup with 2 nodes (A.this.com, B.this.com), one service (PROD.this.com), one listener and one instance on each node (listener PRODlist1 using instance PRODinstance1 on node A, listener PRODlist2 using instance PRODinstance2 on node B), one database (ORCL).
db global db name = orcl.this.com
I would like loadbalancing=on, with TAF basic (no preconnect, retries 10, delay 5.)
    With dynamic service registration.
What should the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora and sqlnet.ora look like?

  • Advice re best practice for managing the scan listener logs and list logs

    Hi friends,
I've just started a job as a RAC dba administrator for some big 24*7 systems, I've never worked with clusterware and RAC.
    2 Space problems
    1) Very large listener_scan2.log in /u01/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/<server name>/listener_scan2/trace folder
    2) Heaps of log_nnn.xml files in /u01/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/<server name>/listener_scan2/alert folder (4Gb used up)
Welcome advice on the best way to manage these in the short term (i.e. delete manually) and the recommended practice and safest way (adri maybe not sure how it works with scan listeners)
Welcome advice and commands that could be used to safely clean these up and put a robust mechanism in place for logfile management in RAC and CLusterware systems.
Finally should I be checking the log files in /u01/11.2.0/grid/log/diag/tnslsnr/<server name>/listener_scan2/alert regulalrly ?
My experience with listener logs is that they are only looked at when there are major connectivity issues and on the whole are ignored.
    Thanks for your help,
    Cheers, Rob

Have you had any issues that require them for investigative purposes? If not, just remove them. Are the logs required for some sort of audit process? If yes, gzip them to a location where you can use your OS tape backup policies to retain them for n-days. Once you remove an active file, it should recreate the file and continue without interruption.

  • Alert log:  failed to establish dependency between database and diskgroup

Hi, I have a database 11.2.0 with ASM. When I startup an instance I see this error in alert log:
ERROR: failed to establish dependency between database SPBUFOR and diskgroup resource ora.SPBUFOR_FLASH.dg
SPBUFOR_FLASH is a diskgroup where a flash recovery area is located.
Database is opened cleanly but I need to know that everything works fine.
How can I resolve this issue ?

  • Huge errors.log daemons.log and everything.log [SOLVED]

Ok people i have i big problem since my last update, wich happened yesterday.
errors.log, daemons.log and everything.log are extremly huge over 1.3G per file.
I tried this to make them smaller with this:
    >errors.log
    >daemons.log
    >everything.log
and this helps for about 5 mins, but after that 5 mins, those three files are growing large again.
logrotate is in my /etc/cron.daily. Should i put it in /etc/cron.hourly. Is this gonna help me with my problem or is it something else that causes it.
This is the message that is written over and over in errors.log:
Jul  6 13:06:44 myhost famd[2151]: fd 4 message length 1347375956 bytes exceeds max of 4136.
    This one is from daemon.log:
Jul  6 13:08:09 myhost famd[2151]: fd 4 message length 1347375956 bytes exceeds max of 4136.
And this one is fron everything.log:
Jul  6 13:09:03 myhost famd[2151]: fd 4 message length 1347375956 bytes exceeds max of 4136.
As you can see this is the same message in all three files.

  • VCS Expressway event log errors when Jabber for iPhone and Windows log in

    hi folks,
I've deployed Collaboration Edge with VCS Control and Expressway:
my Jabber for iPhone succesfully can log in from Internet and it can IM but not calls and I see next messages in VCS Expressway when Jabber is logging in:
    2015-03-27T18:00:28+02:00
    tvcs: Event="Authentication Failed" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="49543" Detail="No valid authentication" Protocol="TLS" Method="REGISTER" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 16:00:28,204"
    2015-03-27T17:58:55+02:00
    tvcs: Event="Authentication Failed" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="49535" Detail="No valid authentication" Protocol="TLS" Method="REGISTER" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 15:58:55,786"
    2015-03-27T17:58:32+02:00
    tvcs: Event="Authentication Failed" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="49527" Detail="No valid authentication" Protocol="TLS" Method="REGISTER" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 15:58:32,202"
    2015-03-27T17:58:08+02:00
    tvcs: Event="Inbound TLS Negotiation Error" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="49512" Dst-ip="Expressway-IPaddress" Dst-port="5061" Detail="No SSL error available, probably remote disconnect" Protocol="TLS" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 15:58:08,582"
"Digest User" in the "Protocol Specific Information" section of Phone Configuration selected right user. in this Jabber I see following error "Failed to get device configuration". however Jabber for Windows and for Android hasn't such issues - they succesfully can log in from Internet and it can do calls and IM but I see next messages in VCS Expressway when Jabber is logging in. The same log line appears when Jabber for Android log in:
    tvcs: Event="Inbound TLS Negotiation Error" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="56751" Dst-ip="Expressway-IPaddress" Dst-port="5061" Detail="No SSL error available, probably remote disconnect" Protocol="TLS" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 14:19:11,769"
and I can't find any information which describe such types of error.
    thanks!

Thanks Srini, but the instructions have two options:
    1. Use the Control Panel, select "Oracle 11g..." and uninstall from there.
This is of course the first thing I tried, but as I said, there is no entry for Oracle 11g in my "Programs and Features" applet.
    2. Download the install package and run OracleXE.exe with the remove iss file.
    Firstly, there is no OracleXE.exe in the package I downloaded, just setup.exe;
Secondly, setup.exe ignores the iss parameter and tells me that OracleXE is already installed (setup.log contains ResultCode=-3) so it can't be installed.
Is there somewhere else to get an OracleXE.exe that will work for 11g? Or are these the instructions for 10g and haven't been updated yet?
Am I unusual in not having a Control Panel entry?
(and I understand this is a beta - that's partly why I'd like to uninstall it - I'll go back to 10g and not be so impatient :))
    Regards,
    Andrew
