Errors on web

Question

While running from Cd or intranet...no problems. However with
our Authorware 6.5 Web files, our users report numerous:
-Authorware unable to display file access denied. Other
objects may fail to appear....
-A problem was encountered while trying to play sound icon...
Internal sound driver reports the following error. Computer memory
is full
these errors are not repeatable if the same content is played
again.
These errors are making using Authorware on the web a dead
end for us. Help

So you are not bypassing the security dialog, correct?
You have instructed users that they must 'trust' the piece in
order for
it to run correctly? (of course, if they do not trust the
piece, would
it run at all? I don't recall...)
Can you ask the users what the specs of their machines are?
Though it
likely is not really a memory problem...
Have you tried a Save/Compact and republish? What's the spec
of the
audio? Perhaps they are Big .wav files and the users are
having trouble
downloading them entirely?
There's a MemoryAvailable variable in Authorware that might
help, but I
bet it will report plenty of memory available despite the
program
showing that error.
If it works fine on all your test and home machines, then
it's likely
not the course but something up with the user's config. Slow
download?
Old computers? Poor video card?
Maybe to test you can setup a new machine in your test
environment.
Perhaps your current machines work because they have all the
needed
files. Like if your files are using .wav audio but the map
file is not
referencing the 'wavread.x32'. Perhaps that doesn't matter on
your test
machines because that .x32 is already present, but it is not
present and
not being downloaded to the new user's computer...so they see
an error.
A missing/non-referenced Xtra would seem to be the most
likely cause to
me...especially if your HTML file references the compact
player.
